The telling fact is that Toral says that the Zip character is totally ridicoluous and that her judgement was 100% accurate. That is basically saying that she thought she was too good to wear such a costume.

Now, OTOH the way this task was handled, the blondes simply took over and did everything and marginalized Toral and to some extent Rebecca. When Toral said those "I will be PM if no one wants it" they should have forced her to do it by simply voting for her, it's a win-win. If they win they get a reward and can vote on wether or not Toral get an exemption (my guess would have been no), if they loose, they just gang up on her and unless somebody seriously screwed up Toral is fired, and they are still safe.

Had DT focused more on who was responsible for the loss instead of Toral screwing herself every time she opened her mouth, then someone else might have gotten the ax. Honestly, Toral was not really responsible for the loss, and DT could have fired the PM for not branding the Zip character.

But DT was gunning for her from the previous episode. I think someone else would have had to make a yooge mistake for him not to fire Toral. Not having the DQ branding was yooge, but was a team decision and couldn't be pinned on just one person.

The way I see it, Toral's firing was long due, and its only a matter of time for Felicia and Kristi to get fired. I wish Jen M. doesn't get fired today, but lets see.

Ha, I went to that http://toral-mehta.com website, which is pretty brilliant. Not quite on par with the Omarosa site, but close...

But I see that it does mention that she raised $5 BILLION dollars for her investors, which isn't too freaking shabby. So that doesn't erase the fact that she acted like a total tool on this show, but it explains why she might not want to dress up like a lame cartoon character on national television, especially when it was pretty clear that she was going home anyway. She kind of IS a respected businesswoman, as she's said all along. She just has really crappy people/TV/human/Earthling skills. I say people should just lay off her and let her go back to sitting behind a desk and shuffling account numbers around, since she's obviously good at it...

Now the group wanted to take the concept to a whole new level by hiding her in a costume. Sounds like an insult few people would stand for (or should, really[/quote]

The project explicitly required the creation of a costume and somebody's having to wear it. It wasn't an inherently marginalizing or insulting task, within the construct of the overall project (in other words, that's what being on the show means). It therefore can't be that huge an insult to ask a particular person rather than another person to do it--or if it is that huge an insult, it's Kristi, not Toral, who has the complaint rights on this project, since she's the one who actually ended up in the costume while Toral didn't. And Toral's justification for ducking the task was basically that she, and she alone, was too good for it, and she made things even worse by trying to cover up that hideous and invalid justification by implying that the reasons were an unassailable issue of honor. She got called on it and her ass was canned.

Assigning her to wear the costume was bitchery, but not because of the nature of the task--simply because the request was specifically geared to bring out Toral's weaknesses--her unearned sense of superiority, her pattern of evasion--so that she could be further berated for them. That doesn't mean they're not significant, problematic weaknesses, just that the method of pointing them up is itself a considerable workplace deficit.

I completely agree with every word of the above, and I think we saw the opposite/downside of that last night -- kind of like, "What would Josh do without Markus?" Thanks for putting it so succintly.

Anyone can put up their own web site and claim how brilliant and respected they are. I don't think it holds much water. And if she's raised $5 billion for her investors, why is she throwing it all away, or at least quitting it for a while, to go on a television reality show? I think you have to read between the lines on these sort of things. It says "executed more than 20 major financings." What does executed mean? What exactly was her role? Did she personally raise the money or was she operating the copy machine running off all the paperwork for the dealmakers to sign, or maybe somewhere in between?

By the way, what does 'Heathers' mean with respect to the 'blondes'?

Find the movie by that name and watch it. It's not only a terrific movie, it explains everything.

Exactly Fposte. Well put and answers the Toral defenders succinctly. I agree that asking her to wear the outfit was vindictive and almost with the expectaion she'd refuse, but how much better would she have looked if she simply called them on it instead of the lame excuses.

For example, wouldn't it have looked better in the boardroom if she'd said something to the effect of " I feel that you are marginalizing Rebecca and I and intentionally asked me to wear the costume in furtherance of that. I am willing to work hard and help this team win, and I think I can best do that by ( here she volunteers to do something useful). Your group has obviously chosen to divide this team and I don't think that is condusive to our winning this task. Let's work tohether, but I will not wear that costume to assist you in freezing me out.

Of course, simply agreeing to wear it would have knocked the wind out of their sails and kept her on the show a little longer, but what can one expect from an egomaniac elitist snob.

As if anyone could ever say this amount of words without being interrupted 17 times before they finish.

These people have a serious problem with interrupting each other. Like Randal said, it's obvious they don't listen to each other. They're so eager to get their ideas across, they can't wait for the other person to finish what they're saying.

Good point. I simply meant the opportunity was there for her to turn it around on them instead of her lame excuses that really amounted to "This is way beneath me."
