Is it me, or does Trump’s hair look...blonder...than it used to? And still doesn’t move in the wind.
Sigh. Men versus women again?
Ooooo. Great exemption twist!
That footrace was patently stupid. Those women are wearing high heels and it’s just not a fair contest. Who’s stupid idea was that?
Hmmm...I wonder if those women really think someone is going to fifty dollars for an extra class. That class would have to have...I don’t know...gold dust scattered on it and be led by Billy Blanks or something. That Latino woman is exactly right - and not just latin people - don’t want to pay that much extra for a class. I hate gyms that do that, and it’s typical that Bally’s would do that. Ugh, hate getting marketed to in the gym.
Markus is nice and is so gone. He’s way too talky, the guys won’t want that.
Melissa...hhhaaaaaaate her. She’s a beeyotch.
Nice touch of unexpected class from Trump to fly him to his grandmother’s funeral. That would have been really mean if he’d not been able to do that. That was horrible, how his grandmother died.
Whoa. Kristi has cojones to bring back just one person and not peeve anyone else on her team by bringing back a third person who doesn’t really deserve it.
OH MY GOD I HATE MELISSA! She’s one of these horrible women who says that women hate her. Maybe because you’re a BITCH. How stupid do you have to be to say, “I can’t work with women”? We only make up over half the workforce in this country.

Another season of sucky marketing. I am so sick of watching the "hustler / using the cameras to get $" approach. It would have been nice if one of the teams thought of doing a promotion like "take this class and you'll be entered into a drawing to win a free balley's membership for a year" or something along those lines.
Kristi was very smart bringing 1 person in the boardroom. It showed guts. If I recall correctly, it also had never been done before. Also, is it a change this season that the cast goes to the boardroom right away and doesn't have as much time to think of a strategy? She needs to tone down the make-up.
I thought that Caroline looked nice- in fact I even want to name my first born after her - but it sure looks like her hair is thinning.
Looks like Trumpy's crush this season will be the Russian lady.

Hello, I'm Donald Trump. I started over 100 businesses. Three of which, actually turn a profit.
I'm going to divide the team into men versus women, because I'm a total dick like that.
I'm of the opinion that running for the helicopter was stupid and pointless. Is this what rich people do for fun?
A Quick History:
Season One: Total Suckups through and through.
Season Two: Mean Spirited Morons who make up stories about why they don't have to be responsible for anything.
Season Three: Project Managers who win ONE time, and seem to think they are exempt for the rest of the season.
And now,
Total Egotists who all think they're God and need to be taken down a notch or two! YAY! This would bother me more if not for the new take on exemption, and the firing of that nasty bitch. I was happy tonight.
Nice to see Carolyn back in total ass kissing stance as usual. Keepin that scowl to remind us of how intimidated we all are by her....not. But I will give her this:
The "XXX" theme would turn off women, and therefore should not be used. Furthermore, she gave Melissa whatfor. Maybe I'm warming up to Carolyn at last.
The girls lost! Stupid Icky Girls! Can't run a corporation! BOO! Only MEN get to be the REAL Apprentice! Unless you want to do the Miss Universe pagent!

I'm back in. So far, the cast interest me. Not in a "Gee they're really smart" way but in a "I can imagine me hating on every single one of them" way.
Josh? shut it, already. We get it. You're snarky. No one is as good as you. I thought it was classless of him to crack on Markus in front of Trump. Can't wait til he's fired.
Markus I felt bad for. He'd a more polished Danny but equally as nerdy. I can see him getting his ass kicked in junior high. Really, really, really wants to be liked.
Kristi. I was impressed with how calm she stayed, although Miss All American Athlete didn't exactly burn rubber making it to the helicopter. When will these peopel learn that flyers are not a viable marketing option? Has anyone on this show ever been successful with them?
Melissa? Drained me. The minute she said, over and over again, how women were intimidated by her I knew she was canned. When I hear a woman say that, what I think she's really saying is, "I'm intimidated by women." Women don't dislike you because you're beautiful, dear, They don't like you because you're an obnoxious, grating, volatile psycho.
The women's team had absolutely no organization or plan to it. And I was suprised that no one brought up the issue of the price point which was, for that neighborhood, too high. They were foisting flyers on peopel who probably had no time to go to a workout class. There was zero direction, no plan and bad marketing. Kristi, wisely, just let Melissa talk herself over the ledge. I think Kristi knew that Melissa would do herself in and just kept her mouth shut.
I don't see a lot of creativity flowing from these people any time soon.

A bit of a slow start. I don't watch TA to see suits racing across a gold course. That was the kicking new twist? What will the fifth season start off with? A pie eating contest?
Trump says he splits them into male and female to tell them apart better. Wel that is some interesting logic for you. Maybe he should just call the teams Penis and Vagina.
There seemed to be huge elements of the task that were glossed over. Not that it would have made the task any more interesting. I was so surprised that redefining and creating a children's book would actually be more compelling viewing. Martha might not have the viewers but she won the first episode showdown for me.
I almost wanted to see Trump fire the xxx blundering PM just to see the rest of the women's reaction to Melissa's return to the suite. Still she was such a horrific wreck in the boardroom. I think someone with some real communications and interpersonal skills might have gotten Trump to not toss her based strictly on a popularity contest.
Once again though Burnett sucks the entire last bit of suspense out of the show by not only making sure the Trumpism labels which team lost but also who gets heaved to the curb.

I didn't get that instantaneous loathing that I got in TA2. Alla and Rebecca did very well in the Boardroom tonight, and weren't shown doing extraneous bitching beforehand. Alla also had Melissa pegged when she was talking to Kristi pre-Boardroom. I don't mind the men vs. women thing this time around as much.

At the gym I used to belong to *cough*24HourFitness*cough*, they started marketing the customers while we were exercising - they would literally walk up to you while you were on an elliptical machine doing cardio and start trying to get you to try to sell memberships to your friends. It's a big reason I quit. But I would not have minded being approached about a special class they were having on one day only. Now that I think about it, I think that gym had a class named XXX.
The XXX flyers were a bad mistake, and street marketing seemed like a really bad way to get business for an exercise class. Why did it seem that neither team asked if they could email the gym members, or even get a phone list and call them to tout the classes?
Trumpy's hair did look blonder and kind of thinner or more transparent. Looked like there was lots of gleaming white scalp showing through the combover.
Melissa was a huge asshole. If a white contestant had started calling the Hispanic gym members "those people" and saying they were too poor or cheap to pay more than X amount of dollars for a class, she would have gone ballistic.

Oh my. WTF????? Where the hell do they get people like Melissa? She hit every wrong note there was to hit. She's there what, two hours, and she's talking smack to Carolyn? On the task? In front of customers and her team?
WTF was up with her telling them she couldn't work with women, and in front of Carolyn no less?
What an idiot. Telling Carolyn that she's doing everything, even had it been true, would have been something to say in the boardroom, not on the damn task.
Ugh. I'm glad she was fired, but it wasn't even that satisfying. She was too clueless to be there in the first place. This is supoosed to be one of the best and brightest that Trump personally handpicked? You can't convince me that she came off that well in the interviews. Her stunning assholery gave me a headache.
Oh, and Melissa, try looking into something other than that fairytale mirror you've been using.
She's decent-looking, but not beautiful by a longshot. But even if she was the most stunning woman ever, it would have been a stupid thing to say that they disliked her because her looks and brains were so intimidating. I loved Carolyn's smackdown. I don't blame her teammates for cheering when Melissa didn't come back.
Markus was painful to watch. I know he was nervous, but damn. He just lucked up this week.
I felt so bad for Randal, losing his grandmother like that. As big an ass as Trump can be, he handled that situation well.

Even though Melissa was a shrieking, delusional harpie, I thought it was tacky of the Donald to totally jump on her "beauty" when she rattled off her list of reasons why women are supposedly intimidated by her. He was all, "Oh really? We have a beauty queen, do you think SHE was intimidated by your 'beauty'"? Like, jeez, Donald--we get that she's a freak, but the subtext was so clearly, "I know from beauty, and honey, a beauty you ain't". He's such a sexist, and it's so hard for him to hide it.

It made sense to me that Melissa might have had a better grasp on marketing to potential clients in Spanish Harlem than the rest of her team mates. Unfortunately, Melissa's tone was overly emphatic and condescending. In the end, it appeared Melissa's team mates did take her advice and agreed to charge a lower fee for the classes than they might have. But I knew Melissa was toast the minute she started badmouthing the PM to Carolyn. Poor Melissa's biggest problem was not that she was evil, but incredibly insecure.

Amen.
I liked this one. I'm so relieved. I was hoping I could enjoy one more Apprentice season before there were no more. And by the way, Trumpy said HE wouldn't be doing any more after Season 5, not that there wouldn't be any more Apprentice shows after Season 5. That's what I read anyway.
I waved buh-bye to Melissa for the last 20 minutes. I actually thought Trump was going to pull that stunt he pulled last season and not even bother with a second boardroom. She clearly had no support, not to mention was a complete pain in the ass. Of course, as intimidated as I am, I may not be fully objective.
Yay Randal. Yay Josh. Yay Alla until she's fired 'cause Trump don't hire strippers, y'all. Boo Markus, but only because he won't. Shut. UP! And he's the Danny of this season. You know it. I didn't dislike Kristi but she's got a lot to make up if she's going to hang around for any length of time.
Finally, YAY! foot race. Brilliant! And different. Oh yeah, and yay for voting on the exemption. That was cool and I think will inject some fun suspense in the show when the herds gets thinned a little more.

Oh my snarking God, I just remembered something....
Now, I really don't like Carolyn too much. Won't get into it other than to say, I think she's quite the snob.
But, if she's in charge one week, what do you want to bet the Viceroys will be Bill and Kelly?
Carolyn is nowhere NEAR the snob that Kelly is. Truth be told, I don't like Carolyn that much, but it's nothing compared to my hate of Kelly. Not too impressed with Bill either.
Suddenly, the idea of one of them making decisions has cast a gloom over the whole season. sniff.......

Oh how I have missed this show. Mr. Twister was downstairs trying to figure out who I was yelling at (which was just about everyone in this ep). It's amazing how "involved" I become.
I was intrigued about this cast, mostly due to DT's statements in press rounds that he was hands on in the final selection. I wasn't sure if this would amp up or tone down the circus factor. The suspense is over, the big top has come to town!
The individual comparisons to previous apprenti is obvious which seems strange as the whole point behind DT's final approval was to pick a "better" group. (?)
This may have been my favorite boardroom ever, just for the look on Carolyns face when Melissa slit her own throat by announcing that she can't work with women. Oh, and that it's because she's too pretty. Yeah, that went over like a turd in the office party punchbowl.
When Kristi chose to bring only Melissa back to the BR, I was so freakin' paranoid (I remember how DT likes to slam self-endangering BR moves). I was totally behind her decision but I'm not evil like DT.
I'm so gonna love this season.

Sep 22, 2005 @ 9:45 pm
First impressions: they are mostly very good-looking. That's important, right? After last season's pink fur and spangles.... It was nice to see people actually wearing business clothing.
I didn't like the ballcaps the girls were wearing nor their flyer. The X's were a mistake. Kristi should have promoted within the gym as well. I think promotion isn't exactly her "thing." She had resources there (doesn't Alla run a gym?), she should have used them. However, I don't know how I'd feel with whitebread Beauty Queen Breck girls running up to me on the street telling me I could use an exercise class. This challenge was a little tipped in favor of the boys.
Melissa, ahhhh. I could wax on about her. The "I'm Hispanic So I Know" was cheap and the shrill way she approached it turned her team off. If her "beauty", "intelligence" and "stinkless shit" weren't enough to piss everyone off, I think her crass cummunication style sealed the deal. I think Carolyn wanted to fire her at the gym. Next she'll claim she was rejected because she is Hispanic. Don't hate her because she's beautiful y'all.
Like I said before, all the gals voting Melissa out of the Trump sorority was similar to sorority rush meetings. Kristi's smile was perfect because she was smart for not opening her mouth and shifting attention to her own mistakes. Trump loses $11 whenever he combs his hair. Big whup.
The guys: Location Location Location. They had an advantage of being guys and not threatening or pissing off the locals. My dh frequently calls his buddies to work out, beer usually follows though. I missed the first 20 minutes (squeezing in Smallville's anticlimactic premiere/finale?) so I can't comment on the TAR segment. The (dare I call them) men seemed very disorganized until the end with the table set up signing people up. Mandible-flapping Marcus fulminated frequently (alliteration!)-- but did he ever say anything? He seemed to be having ass-kissing problems. He also didn't endear himself to his team although I guess that would be too much to ask in the first challenge.
The rest of the guys didn't make much of an impression for me. Randall seemed really sad about his Grandma and he was still willing to work hard for a chance to win. I like that Trump is flying (giving him time off) to the funeral. He also managed to answer Trump in two sentences without umming and stuttering. I like him. The guy going on about exemptions: I want to hear how he feels about it when he is PM. I am sure he will feel he was "all that" and deserved one.
Lunch at the Friar's club? Boring. Trump should have invited another guest of honor. Throwing a luncheon with yourself as a guest of honor is kinda tacky. I would have needed a buffer.
My picks for final 4? Too soon to tell.

Usually when the loss is so close it Donald and Friends turn it into a price point issue, which didn't come up at all in the final decision. While the marketing sucked, it did manage to get a few clients in, and an $1 or .50 price increase would have won Capital Edge the challenge.
The men's gym is on West 20th Street and 6th Avenue and is right across the street from my job. My boss goes there and she remembers seeing the Apprenti a few months ago, cameras and all. Not hardly. This wasn't because Melissa was strictly unpopular. She was unproductive, disruptive, and condescending. Women's Team -
XXX advertisement? The entire team should suffer for letting that one through. That ranks with the cucumber porn in sheer stupidity. Handing out flyers in the street? How do they find all these candidates who HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS SHOW BEFORE? That little smile that Kristi gave at the end? Idiot! Kristi did only one thing right. She took only one person in. No need to pester Trump with distractions when you're bringing the living embodiment of self destruction with you. Melissa could not shut up. When was the last time a candidate explained in detail why they shouldn't be hired?
Men's team -
Markus is not long for this show. Trump could barely stand a telephone conversation with him. Aside from that the team is quite negative with each other.
Frankly at this point I don't see a single winner among any of them.

As with everyone else, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't immediately dislike more of the wannabees. Melissa DEFINITELY HAD TO GO! Absolutely delusional. I didn't find her to be all that attractive (or intimidating), but then again....I'm not a man. What do I know.
Kristi wasn't a fantastic PM, but she didn't have a clue about what the others could do best. I think she deserves a small break for offering to be the 1st PM. She also showed some guts in asking to only bring Melissa to the boardroom. I think it was the right choice, as other said to save making a future enemy for no reason. I don't understand why she would have been the one choreographing the class they were having. Doesn't Bally's have staff for that kind of thing? (just checking. I thought it was a bit odd)
The ladies weren't bickering, whining, high-school types. Over-all, they acted fairly professionally, at least for this episode. The guys were ok, but nothing to write home about. Randal definitely has some class. I was glad to see Trumpy offer him the helicopter. Randal should be a great contender (no pun intended).

Exactly! At least one of them was smart enough to take her damn heels off and run like the wind. Didn't do much good though. Why didn't they all split up and go in separate directions? They could have covered more ground that way and increased their odds.
Markus seriously looked like a decent guy in the beginning... but then, he opened his mouth. What an asshat!
Melissa is the new Assorama and I am glad that she didn't get a chance to go on. Its like Ivette from BB morphed together with Omarosa and became this harping, raving bitch.
Randal - I feel sorry for you bud but I am glad that you decided to stay. I think you would have kicked yourself in the future if you walked away.
Kristi looked rather smug in the end didn't she? Not sure if I like her yet. The rest are somewhat or a blur to me now.
And as for the task... what was that crap? Those classes weren't innovative and unique. I think if the XXX team had of handed out their flyers inside Bally's, they would have had better luck. When someone hands me a flyer on the street, it goes in the garbage right away. Especially if all I see is XXX written across it. But if I am already at Bally's working out, I might be a little more inclined to read further.
Wouldn't a two-for-one kind of thing work better? It would have gotten more people into the class and perhaps made it look more appealing to others in the area.

I've never been to a frat rush so I couldn't say. However, I have attended and participated in sorority rush meetings. However, the individual on topic is usually made to wait outside the room. My comment was purely subjective.

Kristi may be horrible at marketing strategies, but she was pretty good at everything else, I thought, including leading her team, which is the most important part. She can come back from that. She stayed quiet in the boardroom, proved she was a real team player by not bringind anyone else into the boardroom, and used her authority as PM well. Alla, I really liked how she didn't seem to waste any time in the board room and went after Melissa from the get go. Word to whoever said that Rebecca has definate Kendra vibes -- Kendra had been my favorite from last season since the first episode, just because she did give the best judgment about who the firee should be and didn't go with the pack. Rebecca, while she went with the pack, definately did so with authority. That being said, was she in the episode?? She really got Kendra's stay-back strategy down to a tee. I think her and Marshawn are still my favorites from the women's team.
The guys won, but no one really impressed me from the guys team. I think that it's telling that both Adam and Randal voted to give Marcus the exception, while the other guys did not -- though I don't know if that means that Marcus was actually a good PM, or that Adam and Randal are both just really good guys, or that they just either really do (they knew he wouldn't get an exception, so they voted for him so that he would be on their sides later on) or really don't (giving away exceptions just means there's one less person who can be fired besides you) know how to play the game. I sort of hate Josh, but I think I'm by myself. I definately got annoyed at the gay guy. Shut. Up.

Didn't think of Mean Girls or girls gangin' up... more towards one or two expressing the opinion and then everyone else agreeing with it. Not that it was an inaccurate, I would have voted to boot Melissa too.

Melissa can't blame anyone but herself for her firing. No sorority or "Mean Girls" tactics here.
Oh, I agree. She absolutely deserved to get fired, and I was glad to see her go. And she only made things worse for herself when it was down to her and Kristi. Totally, totally agreed with tonight's firing. I just think there's "Mean Girls" potential as the season wears on. It just smacked of a pile-on (albeit deserved), and I think we'll see more of it down the road.

Yeah, that sums it up for me blocked writer. A little diplomacy on Melissa's part might have gone a long way toward saving her hide. She brought up the fact that she didn't like Kristi and felt Kristi got under her skin. Melissa made the whole situation personal when it didn't have to be. So Melissa was the aggressor in this case, not the other way around.

Well, yes. That's the way the show's been from the beginning for both the men and the women. That's the only reason we see the Boardroom smackdowns. If they didn't want that environment, they'd have Trump do the firing right after the task.

Yes, exactly. It didn't have to be personal. Melissa's making it personal is what got her fired, and that is what set this situation apart from previous Coven happenings.

I thought the show got off to a good start. Reminded me of Season 1. Looks to be much better than 2 & 3.
Trump got the first firing right. Although, I don't think it could have been more obvious who needed to go. I'm surprised there wasn't any publicity about Melissa's comments about Hispanics. I thought what she said was much more offensive than the remarks made by Jenn C in Season 2 (or was it 3?).
Markus - I don't think I have ever seen Trump express his disdain for a contestant so openly. The first task the guys lose -- he's gone.
I somewhat surprised at all the Randal love around here. There is absolutely no way I would miss my grandmother's funeral to be on a game show (which is what this is, no matter how you dress it up).
No clear cut favorites at this point, but I did kind of like Alla and Rebecca. Who was the guy in the intro who said he was "just a Southern boy" (or something to that effect). Kind of got a Troy vibe from him. Of course, I don't think they showed him anymore after that.
Cannot wait to see Carolyn take control. I hope it is the highest rated episode of the season.

Which male apprentice was the super short one? Those group shots with him killed me.
Shades of Stacy-Smeagol.
Someone mentioned that Markesha (sp?) mentioned the triple X in the interview, but not to Kristi. I recall her saying that she had mentioned it to Kristi and that Kristi was not concerned about it.
Some of the guys are cute. Frankly, I want another Raj. I have total Raj love still. There will never be another Raj.
