Ok, so this is basically like (read: plagiarized reproduction) the Survival Game except less fun because you don't get to kill people. Still, I think it would be interesting to see what our favorite episode is, and I figured the way the ranking is done in the other game will work well here.

Note: I'm not putting the episode numbers because more numbers equals more confusion. You'll just have to look up the numbers if you have trouble placing an episode. Sorry.

Here are the formal rules:

All of the episodes start with 15 points. Anyone who wants to play can then cast a vote to give an episode either two more (++) or two fewer (--) points. Posters can only cast their votes once each day (calendar day, not 24 hours between. You can vote at both 11:59 and 12:01, but that's it for those two days.) and only three votes at a time. When an episode has 0 points left, it is eliminated. Once half of the total episodes are eliminated, episodes will only be allowed to receive one point per vote (1+), but they can still be deducted two points (--), just so that the game doesn't go on forever.

* Also, you can't vote for one episode more than once in a day by giving all three of your votes to that episode (or deducting). You must add or substract points from three different episodes.

* Post the updated standings with your vote, in order or rank.

This is harder than it looks, because sometimes your favourite shows character-wise are not the best shows you know? You could play this from a lot of different angles; favourite character development ep, favourite ep to showcase a relationship, good MotW ep, etc. It should be interesting to see which ones are rewarded or dissed first and for what reasons.

All the other birds of the world—the mange-hollowed hawks, the lordless hens, the dumb clucks—will live punishing, unblessed lives, winging it north, south, here, there, searching for a place of rest. But not these. Not these rich, rubber ducks! graced with mud and shit, upstream and down, drain to pipe to freedom, always steered, guided, welcomed toward those golden openings like a heaven's mouth, and though it isn't really a heaven's mouth, it is maybe the lip of all there is.

Bone sighs. Why must he always take the measure of his own stupid episode? Why must he always look around and compare his own against others'?

Because God wants people to.

A Trip to the Dentist: ++-Brillant resolution to the rape plot, a beautiful shade of gray if I ever saw it. Also powerhouse emotion by KB. Really don't understand why this one seems to flapping out in the breeze so. :)
Pilot:++-Flawless, every scene is vital and wonderfully thought out. It proved to me that this wasn't just another show..that it had determination and was gonna go places,and that road would be paved with snark and smarts! Absolute Classic.

This game is going to go on forever. All of the shows are better than everything else on TV. Plus, I'm never going to be able to watch Lost again without feeling cheated because has anyone here seen Bride and Prejudice? Sayid can dance and sing and I will totally feel ripped off whenever I watch Lost and Sayid isn't dancing. Sorry, I'm done now.

Credit Where Credit's Due -- Because...seriously UPN, Paris Hilton? She who all other skanks are measured up against. I'm also pretty sure she can only say two words.
A Trip to the Dentist ++ It was just brilliant. I had no idea what was going to happen.

++ M.A.D.: Loved the angst and the ending with Tad yelling out ‘this isn’t over Veronica Mars’ cueing into Logan on the boat with his Crimson and Clover - my favorite scene EVA

++ An Echolls Family Christmas: Most enjoyable, witty perfectly plotted episode. The one I watch over and over again the most. It also signals the beginning of my later insane craving for the LoVe ship.

--Silence of the Lamb: Love me some Lamb, but I gotta help kill this one, a big letdown coming right after AEFC. I was more bored here than with Lord of the Bling.

Credit Where Credit is Due ++ This was a great episode, snappy dialogue, interesting character interactions, and reinforced the fact that the Pilot was not a fluke, and this was going to be a truly great show. It's the episode that hooked me. Don't let the two scenes with Paris Hilton get you down! It added layers to all the characters who had been introduced (developed V's angst, established Wallace as her reluctant office-aid helper, Weevil as a good guy deep down, shed some sympathy on Logan, and also shed light on V/Duncan's previous relationship). It also kicked off Veronica's own invetigation into the Lilly Kane murder, with the discovery of the parking ticket, and reassured her (and us) that she had not made the wrong decision by siding with her dad against the 09ers.

Leave It to Beaver ++ Did a really good job of tying the mystery up. It kept you guessing until the second half of the episode, never letting up on the red herrings until the last possible moment. It was an excellent reveal and had so many great scenes. The only flaw was that there was too much good stuff to fit easily into one episode, and that can't be a reason to downgrade it.

Meet John Smith -- Although this has a few things to recommend itself, it really didn't lend itself towards the season-arc, and it wasn't that strong as a stand-alone episode, either.

Hee! Maybe the Lost crew should have karaoke night, like VM's CotT. And Bride and Prejudice is kind of awesome. "Mother thinks that any single man with big bucks is shopping for a wife."

The Wrath of Con ++ I loved the flashbacks of the four of them. It's the first time you really see what the dynamic was between them in juxtaposition to the present. Logan's treatment of her seems even more devastating. Yet he shows some small amount of softness and recognition of the friendship they used to have. Oh hell, I just liked it.

An Echolls Family Christmas ++ Definitely one of the absolute best episodes all around.
