Ok I just saw the episode where Kendra goes shopping for her condo- god give me back those 30 mins but I keep watching! So what I notice now that I didnt before was Holly's obvious fakeness over and over and over again.....about sharing Hef and discovering girls and wanting to work for Playboy. Somehow I see it as a way for her to stay longer and spy...lol I'm a proud Mom, they cant get mad at me Im the boss' gf- ick

The Death LOOK she gave that Tamara girl at the after hours photoshoot was priceless.

Whenever Bridget meets someone- I'm so excited...Im doing this, doing that Yeaahhhh for me wth? DId anyone notice her stuffing her face at that event honoring Pamela Anderson?

Im so so on Kendra. But I can tell that Hef really lights up whenever she's around.
ChanelCupcake
Could Holly have had more of a bitch face during "The Beatles" "thing in Las Vegas? I'll take your damn seat if you don't want it!
scoobie doobie
kallyk25, I'd quote you're whole post but it would be too much -- but everything you've said about the Vegas ep is on target.

It just becomes so clear how offensive this show should be to women. And yet women make up most of the posters on this thread and most seem to think it's so adorable what's going on here. I don't get it. Yeah, these women have made their own choices but this lifestyle is getting more and more nauseating to witness. Personally, I've had enough.

This ep also makes it clear that this show is merely a marketing ploy for the Playboy empire and they're really trying to push the Vegas Playboy club/hotel/casino or whatever it is.
stevie2007
Vegas epi
Does Bridget have a food fixation or what?
Holly, your eyebrows are scary.
Kendra was the only one that looks decent and not over the top.
foodie100
GAH!!! Bridget just said, "ooooh my god, it's just unbelievable how many people's lives we've touched, and how many people like, look up to us and stuff!"

*gag*

Honey, hate to break it to you - but you're living in a Pepto Bismol pink fantasy land. I'm quite sure that anyone with half a brain thinks you three are the most pathetic excuses for women on the planet. This ep is particularly annoying me to no end. Bridget looked like a 40 year old hooker in that shiteous silver getup with 80s Texas hair. Blech.

Oh God! That pathetic middle aged woman (no, not Bridget) who brought her little girls to meet the GND! What the hell kind of ideal does that give them to emulate? Try to give your daughter a role model who is known for more than her breasts and vagina.

I thought the same. Who lets their children watch this show?
Lauza
That's because she played one in her stripping act.

Ha! That's what I thought ;)
MrPissyPuppy
Role models. Oy.
Lauza
I thought tonight's episode was kind of odd.

I thought Kendra's too big gold dress looked like a Barbie dress I had in the 80s. Bridget and her 60s get up was ridiculous. And Holly with her horse hair was just...no. And all those little girls at the meet and greet who claimed that the girls were their idols were just sad.

But ever since I've been reading this thread, I pay more attention to the little things. For instance when the girls showed Hef those paintings, he gave Bridget a big kiss, then Kendra, and then gave Holly a small peck. Which was also similar to the one he gave Mary while they were in Vegas.

But some of those things can be attributed to creative editing. I'm analyzing this too much. Damn you people! :p
foodie100

I agree! ;)
stevie2007
After awhile one can't help but overanalyze this stuff.
I saw Hef's peck on Holly and it looked like she pulled away first because he just finished smooching the other two and that's a Holly no-no.
Tallulahbaby
I dont think I can take Hef's scary witch cackling anymore. And that damn captains hat...geez.

Does that Crystal girl go everywhere with them? She's like the 4th girlfriend.
Lauza

And don't forget that odd twirly hand dance thing he does.

Ugh, yes. The POTY episode just aired over here, and I was horrified that Crystal got her own damn storyline. Especially since she's affected the same cutesy baby voice as Bridget. I think she was a girlfriend at one point, I think her and Bridget shared that pink prison 'o hell. 25 my arse. Be gone woman.
CollegeGirl
I have to say though this last episode I really liked. It actually made me laugh out loud!
lilmissthing
Kendra was adorable this week, showing Mary the sights. I think Kendra is the only one who is genuinely excited about anything they do.

Mary and Hef would be a cute couple...he seems to respect her and her opinions. Once again, age appropriate couples are soooo much better!

I totally agree, I was suprised at how it looked so normal when he kissed her and to see her making his cereal in the morning, so cute.

I wonder if Hef and Mary were involved 55/60 years ago?

I doubt it. Hef talks to Mary with at least a touch of respect...sometimes.

If I had to kiss someone who was just swapping spit with somebody else a second ago, I would be pulling away sooner than pronto as well.

I don't know, but I always get this Sharon-Ozzy vibe whenever I see Mary and HH interacting. Maybe it's because of their work together, or the fact that they seem to genuinely care for and respect each other. Obvioulsy, I don't get that kind of vibe between HH and any of the girlfriends.

Edited because my keyboard swallowed half of the characters I punched before they made it to the text

I loved Hef, Mary and Kendra on the Vibrating round bed! This kind of stuff makes K-Dub endearing! I think that's why Hef likes her so much.
I loved how when Kendra was late getting ready and Hef goes...Where's K-Dub! Loved it!
Ugh Holly is so pretentious its so damn grating. And Bridget is just a silly, silly woman. Oh and how come Kendra doesnt ever get to sit near Hef? Whats up with that?
Hailey
Oh and how come Kendra doesnt ever get to sit near Hef? Whats up with that?
Just the seating chart of being girlfriend #1-#3. If you ever flip through Playboy, every picture has Holly right next to him alone, Bridget on the other side, and Kendra next to Bridget furthest away. When they brought out those (ugly) pictures for Hef at the end, the way they were standing led to an out of order photo op. People weren't in their assigned spots, and it was the first thing I noticed. I thought, "ohhh Holly is going to be pissed!"

How OCD is Hef that he can't even go someplace for three days without a dozen labeled crates of specific food and gum? Jesus Christ, grandpa, you can eat Subway one day for lunch. Losen up a bit.
gojuu
Bridget and her 60s get up was ridiculous.

I so agree. Oh dear...

I also thought it was rather engaging when Hef gave Mary a peck (of course she dropped a mighty big hint about it, LOL.) I think that most of us imagine spending our lives with an age appropriate guy. I know for myself, I like being able to reference stuff that might have have happened back in my day and not have to explain what I mean to my partner. Hef can do this with Mary (has she been with him since the 50's I wonder?) So maybe Mary fills that slot in his life that a more suitable partner would have?

Clearly Hef doesn't require having a lot in common from his girlfriends, his oft stated "shared interests" with Holly notwithstanding, and is satisfied playing the "funny" grandpa. As for the girls, Wealth and Power are powerful attractents for some women, and Even the woman writing for ELLE thought Hef was charming.

I find it interesting however, that most of his friends are old geezers like himself. No wonder the girlfriends are so "lively", the Mansion must seem like a mausoleum during poker night, etc.

Most of us are highly incredulous about the sincerity of the girl's affection for Hef, but who knows? While I wouldn't want their life for myself, or if I had a daughter, for her, I don't sit in judgment of the GND. I do hope that Kendra, at least, gets something good from the experience and finds the husband she craves, and doesn't crash and burn like so many before her (Anna N Smith, et al.)
torianne84
I wonder if Hef and Mary were involved 55/60 years ago?

I don't think so. According to the E True Hollywood Story, Mary used to be a tour guide who posed for Playboy and would have customers scream obsenities at her because she posed (which I think is bull shit because if they were looking at Playboy they're just as immoral ::rolls eyes::) and eventually she came to Hef in tears and he said "Well, fine, you can be my secretary." And she has ever since.
Lyssbobiss
In the very beginning of the episode where the girls are shopping for dresses, my husband said "Oh, God, that old one's gonna put on a costume, isn't she?" And, of course, he was right. Bridget, run a comb through that hair once in a while. Geez.
radicalmoderate

I think its more a medical issue. His food has to be laced with just the right amount of formaldehyde to preserve his ancient ass.
Pity Free
...I don't sit in judgment of the GND.
I do! They go on TV and practically beg for my judgement. Who am I to deny them??

Jesus Christ, grandpa, you can eat Subway one day for lunch.
This cracked me up! Really want to mess up Hef's day? Put the banana on top of the cereal. ......WTF???? Who puts up with that if they aren't on the payroll?

Part of me thinks she has a grim awareness that she's coasting on a pretty face and fun personality.

I wonder if this is what happened to Brigette. A decade ago she was told that she was a pretty face. Even though she went out and got an education, she is still probably fighting the realization that she doesnt have much longer before her looks will fade. She thinks that maybe if she acts younger and surrounds herself with things that a much younger girl would, people will forget she is in her thirties. Yes, she has an education, but its pretty clear she doesnt value that half as much as a pictorial.
kallyk25
I will continue to ignore Bridget's education, but the comment about her being the girl who was known for her looks and nothing else seems spot on. I bet she was the prettiest girl in high school and was popular because of it, but as been adrift in any situation where a person is worth more than their appearance (like the rest of the world). That's why she clings so desperately to being 'young' and 'sexy', and being involved with Playboy, which she views as the incarnation of youth and sex appeal. As long as she's got that tenuous link, she can still feel she's hot, and therefore valued, since she doesn't have the confidence or anything else to fall back on.

In the episode where they go back to Lodi, they show her high school picture and she was kind of a woofer back then. She admits that she wasn't cool in high school. She could be trying to play up the "ugly duckling to swan" story, but judging by her picture...I wouldn't say she was lying. She definitely had the Anastasia frizz going on, IIRC.
Oasis
Seeing those kids in line made my skin crawl. These are the people you want to emulate? Women who think "skank" is a career option? Look around lady! There are some SERIOUSLY scary geeks there, and I dated a Trekkie!

Regarding her "Trainer" career...seeing Kendra's meltdown over something so minuscule as her dress and shoes reinforced my opinion that she'll never hack it in any career that doesn't involve shaking her ass or sponging off another. The business world is fraught with setbacks and easily overlooked details that need a cool head and a good improviser, and she can't read lines for her workout video or say to herself "okay, plan B: blue dress" without someone holding her hand, like Hef or Mary or her family or whoever is there.

It concerns me. One of my friends had some of the same philosophies: fall and see if anyone will catch you, do what's fun or whatever's captivating your attention at the moment, screw that! I'm young! etc. It came back to bite her when her boyfriend of four years finally threw her out for not keeping a job so that he could cheat on her behind her back. (She moved in with him on a whim.) It is SO easy to be broke and homeless, and although Kendra hit the Mother Lode of luck (thus her stating that Hef "saved her," and her family's push to keep her there), I don't think she's going to change, not when I keep seeing proof that she can't handle simple stress without an anxiety attack.
polpetti
When I watch this show it's generally for the trainwreck factor. Holly whips out the bitchface so much that I'm afraid her face is going to freeze that way. She totally blew off that girl who brought Hef the teddy bear. How strong is your relationship if you're that jealous all the time? What man wants to marry that? I swear I hope he marries Kendra just so I can see her head explode.

Anyhoo, back to watching this show and how it generally doesn't offend me. I've got a pretty broad view on sexuality and hey, whatever floats your boat. However, I was so freaking pissed off when they show that woman who brought her NINE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER to the autograph session. Who the hell let's their nine year old watch this show?! Seriously, I think I didn't get told about having a period until I was 10. You actually let your kid watch a show with nakedness, blow job jokes and Kendra flashing her boobs to random people? WTH is wrong with you, sexualizing your child at such a young age. Lady, you are a bad mother.

And while we're on it, Bridget, you're no role model. Unless your idea of success is pretending you like sucking 82 year old dick and praying noone notices that you're getting older because you have nothing else to offer. Jeebus, I'm pissed!

Ok, calming down now. Kendra totally dodged a bullet by having that gold dress not fit her. All that thing needed was a matching scruchie.
zoothouse
polpetti God.....NO JOKE! It's a show for more mature people who understand it's entertainment value.....but there is NOTHING about that show that I think some pubescent girl needs to emulate. The whole thought is nauseating.
secrettvjunky
I thought Kendra was looking fantastic last night. I don't know if it was new make-up, surgery, or a prescription for Proactiv or whatever, but I thought she was looking lovely. Her behavior was outrageous and embarassing as usual, but a leopard can't change its spots, now can it?

ITA with everyone upthread who shared my shock at mothers bringing their daughters to see the Girls. Role models? These ladies? I think little girls should look up to someone whose career goals reach a bit beyond "Marry octogenarian and get talons in empire" or "flash titties to random dudes."

I tend to think it is the opposite...that she was never the pretty one, that she always felt insecure about her looks and wished that she was prettier, and so "getting" to be a girlfriend and being in the magazine and being considered attractive by a man who supposedly surrounds himself (at least in theory) with beauties is validation for her that she is pretty enough, attractive, and desireable. But yet it's such a toxic environment for her b/c the girls are always going to be younger, thinner, blonder, bigger boobs or whatever, so she's aways going to feel like she comes up short. And in comparison to them, she's going to get trashed a lot for her looks.

If she was like a 2nd grade teacher or something (heaven forbid, although she'd probably be good at it with her singsong voice and little crafty projects), all her students would probably think they had the prettiest teacher ever!
Taira
I totally agree with this. Sadly I've been sucked into caring about this show but I really wish they'd provide a more accurate portrayal of the situation. I can't think of any group of real people that live every day with absolutely zero amounts of conflict. For some reason we're expected to believe it's "happy fun time" every hour of every day for these girls. Unfortunately I doubt E! is going to change the format of the show away from this depiction.

Hef said on Larry King that the show is done from the viewpoint of the girls. I think that's what Hef wants to believe. In reality, I see the stuff that makes it to air as the girls as they want Hef to see them. It's the Hefs-eye viewpoint. It's the face they all put on for him. Holly being sweet to Kendra even though, reasonably speaking, ANY woman would be concerned about being in competition for a man with a woman six years younger. Kendra saying she loves dominoes - give me a break. Bridget being sugary sweet every moment, even though it's obvious Hef barely notices her, and never takes any special interest in anything she does. Bridget and Kendra acting like they're just fine with Holly being the #1 girl. Yeah, right. The man says in interviews that he may marry Holly and that his relationship with her is as perfect a relationship as he's ever had, and nobody else is jealous? Hooey.

Playboy sells fantasy. Hef got rich selling the illusion of a world EVERY straight man would like to have (and any of your husbands or boyfriends who say they wouldn't, are lying.) The show takes the fantasy to the next level and it is a marketing tool to sell all of the other assorted Playboy merchandise - the magazine, the web site subscription, the calendars, the Vegas club, etc.

If you want a documentary about women living off their beauty and the insecurities that come with it, watch one of those A&E reality shows about trying to make it as a showgirl in Vegas. I love this show because, from a woman's point of view, I like the fantasy too. I know I'm like the only poster here who admits it, but damn, I'd love to be a "10" and have a guy take care of me and not have to drag my butt to work every day and go to a lot of parties in super hot dresses. Alas, I was born with a brain instead...
AfroJo
I think Kendra is absolutely content with not being the #1 girl. She gets incredible perks and gets away with most anything; on Season One, Holly remarked how Hef is always blaming her for Kendra's consistent tardiness and general lack of caring. Kendra doesn't have to do any of what Bridget and Holly are doing to be in her position as the "favorite".
roseyrun

Actually, this was something I found endearing in Kendra this episode. I have the same problem when dressing for big events. If I don't feel its perfectly how I want it, I have a meltdown. It's now a normal enough event that my family has learned to just roll their eyes and walk away until I have figured it out. Sadly, it hasn't gotten better over the years but it doesn't reflect how I handle myself in the "business world".

I thought it was telling that while Hef was bitching about having to wait for her, as soon as she explained the situation he just started his old man cackle and didn't seem to mind anymore. I think he lets that girl get away with so much more than the other ones.

Though, what was the scene with him eating his cereal while "KDub" flashed her tits at a bunch of business men. I like how they tried to slice it as if it was happening at the same time and he could hear/see her and was annoyed. I wonder if Holly bribed someone in production to slip that in there.

As one of the few male posters on this thread, I have to speak up and say the above quote is way, way off. I think Hef's lifestyle is truly nauseating. I'm happily married and not jealous of him in the least. The "girls" on this show are bought and paid for. They're no different than prostitutes. And the above statement cynically implies that all men want to use prostitutes, which is simply not true.

The show has made it plainly obvious that each one of these women has their own agenda. All of them have one thing in common -- they're out for what they can get for themselves. For Holly, it's money and security. For Bridget, it's fame -- which she probably hopes will lead to bigger opportunities in show biz. And for Kendra, who knows? But you can be sure she's sniffing around trying to land herself a rich hubby -- probably a famous athlete that attends the mansion parties.

I bet she was the prettiest girl in high school and was popular because of it, but as been adrift in any situation where a person is worth more than their appearance (like the rest of the world).

For Bridget, it seems like it was the exact opposite. If she wasn't the "ugly duckling" in high school, I bet she was probably somewhat plain looking. Whether Anastasia is really her daughter or sister, and whether her "mother" is really her mother or her sister, they are related to her in some way and they're both very plain looking (although very sweet). Bridget has worked extremely hard to get good looking and I think that's why being in this position (because it's based on being good looking) means so much to her.

BTW, they did show photos from her failed Playmate try-outs from maybe 10 years ago or more and she really did not look good. I'm not sure what kind of surgery she had done but she does look much better. I think she blonded and straightened her hair and it made her look much, much better. Anastasia really does seem like a very sweet girl, but she naturally has hideous hair and I think Bridget probably has the same kind of hair.

I have to kind of agree with this, even though I'm not a man. I think there are a lot of (shall we say) less thoughtful men who THINK that GND is some kind of ultimate fantasy life, but I don't know how many people are actually crazy enough to be able to deal with the realities of a situation like that. One girl is begging you to marry and impregnate her, another girl is giggling supersonically while dressing up in costumes and painting your house pink, and one girl just sleeps until the afternoon every day and can't even be bothered to show up on time for the few 'fun' things you ask her to do. Not to mention the cars, plastic surgery, spa days and allowances you have to give them to make sure they don't wander off. In fact, Hef is the only person I can think of who could have a logical reason for it (shallow, but logical.) The girls are staff that he employs to perpetuate his 'image'. That's all.

Sometimes men forget that women, no matter how hot, are also human beings. Human beings who get into bad moods and have periods and (GASP!) age. I don't know how much these things factor in for Hef, but it can't be very much. I quote the great Ferris Bueller: you can't respect someone who kisses your ass.
AfroJo
Anastasia really does seem like a very sweet girl, but she naturally has hideous hair and I think Bridget probably has the same kind of hair.

She does. I saw a picture of Bridget in her high school yearbook (it was shown on GND), and she had the brown mousy hair. Bridget had a "pretty" face, but I do not have a hard time believing she'd be considered the ugly duckling.

I'm not sure they meant a Playboy mansion tour guide.

Well I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one around here who is appalled at the fact there are apparently LOTS of moms around that think that the GND are role models and allow their 8-9-10 year old daughters watch the show to the point they have a favorite GND. Me, I watch the show ASAP after dvr'ing it, then immediately delete it so that my 14 year old doesn't watch it while I'm not looking. I also wonder how many of these homes are having a discussion about the girls and Hef and what they're really all about. That in and of itself would keep me from letting her watch!
lvmom
I watch it in a dark bedroom away from my kids. And shoo them if they try to come in. And they're 11 and 18!
Tallulahbaby
Does anyone have any idea how much they are getting paid for GND? I wonder since they are making their own money if Hef is still giving them allowance. I think its interesting that Holly has all LV luggage. I know Hef didnt give that as gifts since he loves giving from the Playboy catalog! And is her allowance even big enough to purchase a luggage piece? That's why Im wondering how much they are making on this show.
cuca10
I think its interesting that Holly has all LV luggage.

Maybe it's not real LV. They make amazingly similar rip-offs, that look exactly alike on the outside, for a fraction of the price.
pasdetrois
The thing about Mary being a tour guide...I mentioned upthread awhile back that there was a TV show years ago on the consequences of being in Playboy years ago. One of the women interviewed said that when she returned to her regular job as a tour guide (which had nothing to do with Playboy), people treated her very badly. This must have been Mary. I think she posed in the 60s.
chainey
I was so freaking pissed off when they show that woman who brought her NINE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER to the autograph session.

I figure many of the people who stand in line for autographs these days are selling the items for profit on sites like eBay. Its a business and they are not really fans. That's what I thought when I saw the long line. Do agree tho that GND isn't a kid event ~ even if it looks like a benign autograph opportunity.
MiMiCubed

As cheap as Hef is and as the Playboy company became under the reign of his daughter, I'd be surprised if it is real.

Kendra is still my favorite. What she faces in the future, only time will tell. The other 2 I just don't get. The forums long ago outed Bridget as having a husband, Chad, most likely a son and also taking happy pills. That is clearly fake sunshine she spews.
Holly KILLS me with her huge cloud of delusion. No way is she 25 and Hef is still married!

I keep hearing rumors that upon his demise, they are all in his will and not his kids. Yeah, right. Do you think Christie, the kick ass and takes name CEO, would allow that?

I wish just once we could see an honest to god Kimberly vs. Holly showdown about some issue. That would be fantastic! We know that Kimberley lives a few steps away, is around the mansion and she still attends the parties. No doubt she has a deal not to appear on camera. Hef hasn't divorced her, maybe more for financial reasons, but no matter how much Holly has begged, he hasn't budged.

Actual wife and mother of his kids vs. delusional #1 hoor. I'd be there with popcorn!

I bet they make a lot of money just to show up for appearances. I know that in sports, even a backup quarterback or no name punter can show up for an event to sign autographs for an hour-hour and a 1/2, and is paid around $3,000. And these are players no one would even be able to name. Judging from the crowds of delusional people lining up to see the girls, they actually have an audience, both sincere and people who just like to make fun of them. But they probably get decent bucks to show up at a party for a few hours or let a promoter throw their name on an event.
