Does anyone know what neighborhood of San Diego Kendra's condo is in?
I thought they said/showed Carlsbad. Coming from the westside of LA in good traffic (which means leave earlier so I doubt it) that trip can be made in well under two hours. Or over 5 if there are any problems.

They definitely exited at La Jolla Village Dr., which is La Jolla. I think they showed a freeway sign earlier, which showed the miles to Carlsbad and San Diego though.

Was just watching a rerun of the Christmas episode. Hef was talking to Kendra's grandma, and I was thinking what a cute, age-appropriate, non-skeevy couple they would make. Too bad he likes his girls young, and not very bright.
That throw that Bridget (?) gave is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. I wouldn't put that thing in my garbage can, for fear my neighbors might see it. Ditto for that toilet paper/plunger stand Kendra gave Hef. Nothing says "I don't love you, but I'll take your cash and a free place to live" like something to wipe your butt with. Hey, maybe she bought it at a discount store, so she could keep some of Hef's money.
I guess now that the girls have their own projects, they have money of their own coming in, but before, weren't they just spending Hef's money on his gifts? It's like being a kid in grade school, you don't really have any money of your own yet, so Mom gives you money to buy Dad a Father's Day gift, or vice versa for Mom's birthday.

Was just watching a rerun of the Christmas episode. Hef was talking to Kendra's grandma, and I was thinking what a cute, age-appropriate, non-skeevy couple they would make. Too bad he likes his girls young, and not very bright.
You know, I was thinking something similar to this, not long ago. Hef being Hef, I wouldn't expect him to be with a woman Kendra's grandmother's age. But if he had only one girlfriend who was Kendra's mother's age, he wouldn't look so old himself. Having three girlfriends at his age is already kind of ridiculous, but having three who are as young as Bridget, Holly, and especially Kendra makes him seem even older than he is. The contrast is just too jarring, and Hef seems even more ancient and decrepit than he really is, standing next to these young women.
Their lifestyle isn't appealing to me, but it wouldn't bother me that much if the women didn't have these curfews and restrictions. Hefner has stood for being progressive and sexually free for years, so that being the case, he should stop being such a big hypocrite and allow these women to have other men in their lives, if they choose. Where's their sexual freedom? At one time, he had the nerve to have seven girlfriends, and presumably he wasn't being faithful of any of them. Yet he insisted that they be faithful to him. What an old piece of work he is!
If he were truly progressive, he'd allow them to have as much sexual freedom as he does, or at least some. I mean, he could insist upon condom use, and he doesn't necessarily have to allow guys over to the mansion to screw the women. But if he didn't treat these women like his personal possessions, I would have a bit more respect for him. I know that's what the women agreed to, and it doesn't give me a very high opinion of them, either.
But as stupid as Kendra comes across on screen, I have to give her props for getting a condo. I haven't seen that episode, only the previews. She's no Rhodes Scholar, but at least she's smart enough to be aware that she won't be living at the mansion for too much longer. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that a lot of her act is a big schtick. Maybe she even signed a contract stating that she'd stay for a certain amount of time, in consideration for a set amount of money. I'm just speculating, but it wouldn't shock me to find out that Kendra had some kind of deal like that.

I guess it never occurs to him that these women probably feel like they are banging their father or grandfather. Or maybe he knows and just doesn't care. Oh well, he looks like a decaying old fool with women this young, when he could look like and elder statesman of the sexual revolution if he had a more age-appropriate girlfriend.
I don't know what his true motives are, but I'd guess that he wants people to think he's as much of a player as he ever was. If that's the case, he's failing miserably. None of these women, not even Holly, would give him the time of day if he were an average retiree, even if he had a very comfortable lifestyle.

So any of us who are having sex with someone close to our own age is banging our parents? Hello my parents are more than 20 years older than me, hence the point in not banging someone light years older than you. Douche.

I think his motivation is to prove that he's still attractive, after all these years.
Even though it's weird and shitty of Hef to be so controlling, he may be the kind of person who believes that sexual freedom means people in general should be allowed to do whatever they want, according to their preferences and with consent of all partners, even if he himself doesn't prefer certain things
Does that make sense? I believe, for instance, that people should be allowed to engage in poly amory and whatever consenting/non-abusive sexual acts they choose without stigma. However, I don't want to be one of several girlfriends or wives, nor do I want to do everything sexual I think that people should be allowed to do.

This show is so fun to watch. Holly is such an alpha girl it's so funny watching her buzz around trying to be the Queen Bee. Holly is so that girl who sneers when good things happen to her friends, who acts sugary happy for you while she tries to get in a dig to make you feel just a little bit not so good about it. But she very much enjoys her position as queen bee. Kendra is just a happy flake, she is like that "going out" friend who cracks you up, makes you roll your eyes when the constant loudness gets a little old, and isn't a real deep friend, but is still one of those friends who doesn't try to one-up you or make passive digs or take swipes at you, if you told her something good, she would just be all "YAY!!!!!!" and do a booty dance and be like "Whoooa, that's awesome!" Bridget is the one who bugs me the most. She has no self-esteem, she sucks at everything, she looks old and like she's constantly aware that she doesn't quite fit the part and and in total fear that someone will discover it. Her tape was horrible, her voice is the worst, and her costumes suck.

I can understand that. I guess even at 80, a person would like to think they are attractive to someone. But most people recognize that at 80, most people in their 20s, 30s (and even 40s) aren't really going to be attracted to them on a physical level. Hefner isn't a horrible-looking old man, but he is an old man. These women are attracted to him because of the lifestyle, fame, and money. Somewhere deep down, he must know that, otherwise he wouldn't be keeping his girlfriends on such a tight leash.
Part of the problem might be that although he was quite decent-looking as a young man, he was never all that handsome, at least not in my opnion. He would have never had access to all those women over the years without the Playboy empire behind him. So actually, for most of his adult life, I don't thing being personally attractive has ever been a big draw for him.
I would actually think he was a cool old dude if he was still interested in having a sex life, but didn't insist upon having a harem that he basically has to buy. There's something so disturbing and pathetic about the dynamic of his relationship with all three women. I also find it laughable that one of the biggest proponents of the sexual revolution turns out to be as old-fashioned in some ways as some of the people he has held in contempt.

I can't believe that I'm about to defend Bridget, because I agree with most of what you say. But I don't think she sucks at everything. I think it has been mentioned here before, that she would make a pretty awesome party planner. She's fulfilled her dream of being featured in Playboy magazine, and I hope she has enough sense to recognize that her days at the mansion are limited. I think she could be very successful with a party and event-planning business. If Hef would allow it, she could even call it "Parties by The Girl Next Door" or something like that.

I wonder how Holly feels about Bridget being tested for Playmate back in the day. Hef or the folks at corporate at least thought her pictures were good enough to test her. That must bug her since Hef kept telling her that she's just not photogenic. Hef is such a crappy boyfriend. I feel silly calling an 81 year-old man a 'boyfriend'. lol! I missed the condo buying ep. Perhaps I'll catch it this weekend. I wish E! would put entire eps up to watch online.
Bridget should start her own party planning business or join an established one. She's thoughtful, pays attention to detail, and makes sure people have fun. I bet she could make a decent living at it in LA. I could also see her doing PR work for a company that wants a pretty face to deal with the press--like a beer company or something like that. It's sad that Kendra and Bridget seem to have the brighter future. Holly really has nothing to fall back on. We've seen Kendra and Bridget do career/business stuff outside the mansion, but Holly's entire being is wrapped up in PB.

They showed them exiting the freeway into La Jolla, so we know she was at least looking at condos there. I'm guessing that's where she ended up buying. It's very pricey and very beautiful.
There are not-so-beautiful neighborhoods on the borders of La Jolla, like Pacific Beach, University City and Clairemont, where Kendra grew up, where a condo would be pricey, but nowhere near what one would pay for mid-town La Jolla.

It is sad. Apparently, Holly hasn't considered what her life will be like in ten years or so, even if Hef is alive. If she manages to have a baby or get married, which are both rather unlikely events, she'll be pushing 40. If Hef is still at all lucid, that's still likely to be too old for him. He replaced Kimberly Conrad, and even with a baby, I don't think he'd hesitate to do the same to Holly, if he's capable.
If she doesn't have a baby or get married, she will have devoted many of her prime years to Hef. He may leave her something in his will, but I wouldn't count on it being anything susbtantial, unless she is married to him when he dies. Even then, a pre-nup would probably limit what she can get. Holly's future is built on a very shaky foundation, but she just seems oblivious to that fact.
Sometimes, his hypocrisy is about him trying to be something he is not, which might make him sadder than Holly.
I think he really is just as sad and pathetic as Holly, maybe even moreso. Their big parties look glamorous enough, but the rest of the time, life at the mansion doesn't look so great. It has been noted how surprisingly run-down the mansion looks, but Hef is trying to portray this life as something so enviable.

She'd do things like making back handed insults about your boyfriend being in a dorky frat or something, then you'd catch her with him at a party, and she'd get back at you by busting you for puking in the living room or something.

She is very careful to not leak any info. making the lifestyle not seem in the least bit contrived and yet all the while she is subtly working to put her future in place. I admire that she is smart enough to know this is all fleeting and she should make something of it while she can.
Versus Holly who is trying to make a spot for herself in the empire, as if even without Hef they will always keep her. Now thats delusional.
Probably smartest of the three, Bridgitte. I realize this sounds odd but even if we think she is not the greatest at the voice over and hosting thing, she is good enough and I can't get $5000 a night for showing up at a party but I bet she can. When he's gone and Hef's daughter (christine?) marches up to the mansion and tosses them all out of a house Hef doesn't really own I think she'll simply use the 3m to find another guy to latch on to. I don't know what you look like (however, if you are below Playboy's "standards", some surgery would probably fix that), but if you were willing to pose in Playboy, you probably could garner that much.
I never saw Kendra as stupid. Immature, yes, but she isn't dumb. She may not be incredibly bright, but none of them are. I'd say she has street smarts. ITA, just among Hef's circle alone must be a few candidates. It'd be cool if they could do an unscripted interview on the show about what the girls think will happen if Hef strokes out. Not that we'd ever get a straight answer out of them, or anything with an even passing resemblance to reality.

What amazes me is the way they manage to portray playboy as a booming company despite the fact that it has to be loosing money left and right in a dying industry. Withouth getting into detail, we all know the print porn industry has been on the rapid decline ever since the mid 90s and the invent of internet porn and there is no way playboy is running a profit lately. Who knows what is in Hef's will? The three million figure was thrown out there by some E! show about sugar daddies. I find it highly implausible that after Hef's four children, wife, brother, pet causes (animals, classic movie restoration, jazz), etc., that there will be millions left to distribute amongst the girlfriends, past and present. And his interest in Playboy Enterprises will pass wholly to Christie, I'd assume. I bet Holly will end up with a car, her personal effects, dogs, and a small cash gift. But as many here have said, she'll just find some other old dude to move on to--I mean, who better to share her genuine love of Flash Gordon? And Keith and Hugh's other old cronies seem more than eager to pick up his detritus.
The upcoming episode (calendar shoot) looks fun. I feel kinda bad for Bridget. She looks so old and out of shape when compared to Kendra and Holly (although, next to your average person, I'm sure she'd look tiny). I'm sure these folks were expecting the usual B/C-list celebs and Paris Hilton all mingling around the grotto for yet another wacky theme party, not some crappy birthday dinner for Holly attended by a bunch of aging playmates. That had to suck for them.
Why would Playboy be cruel enough to do that? I didn't get a look at these folks, so maybe they just didn't pass the test lookswise for average folks to make it to a real Playboy party...

Holly said she bought (rented?) costumes for all the random Playboy wannabees and kissasses that attended her birthday. Why didn't she get one for Kendra, especially since she has lived with Kendra for three years and knows how she operates? Because she wanted the girl, Hef's obvious favorite, to look like a fool in a Snow White costume. That would have been a far greater birthday gift than a pink golf cart.
My heart went out to the couple who won that contest. I imagine they flew out to L.A., thinking they'd be part of some swanky party. Instead they're sitting at a small, warped card table, like they're ten-years-old and at Grandma's for Thanksgiving Dinner, dreaming about sitting at the adult table.
P.S. There has to be a contract of some sort with the Girls. I don't think E! would film if there wasn't some guarantee that all the Girls would be present. As soon as this series is over completely, Kendra is out of there. Bridg and Holly will stay until Christie gives them the boot.

So what was the deal with that poor couple who won the "Attend a Playboy party" contest and were sequestered to a folding table for two in the far corner of the dining room by themselves?
I feel really stupid for asking this, especially since I'm pretty sure I've seen all of the episodes, but what episode/season is this scene coming from? I tried finding an episode list but the one on tv.com is all messed up.

jcpbmg, it's from Holly's Marie Antoinette birthday party episode. The people won a trip to the PB Mansion, and she invited them to her party...but stuck them at a private table for two in the corner, instead of the big table with all her friends. It was a bit pathetic.
