Re: children at the PB mansion. There's a book out there written by Dr Saginor's (sp?) daughter and she basically grew up there. I haven't read it, but from what I can gather, it definately isn't a place to raise children, but her dad also seemed very absentee although they were living under the same roof.

I agree. I think if any former Playmates were great actresses, they wouldn't be treated as jokes and their spreads wouldn't necessarily hold them back. Jenny McCarthy and Pamela Anderson can do campy comedy, but I doubt they're making any serious actresses in Hollywood nervous. So I'm a big fan of exercising to videos, and I was searching through Comcast's On Demand selections looking for my all-time favorite awesome "I Want Those Arms" workout, and what do I stumble upon but Holly's workout. It was there for about a week, but now it's gone. What's up with that?

I had to watch, and it was pretty hilarious. Didn't Bridget say they spent several hours shooting each girl's segment? It looked like it was host in real time with no re-takes. It was so bad, and there were so many mistakes, I was just cringing for her. At one point, she misplaced her weights and had to run out of frame to get them. And as a charter member of the sisterhood of the spazoids, I can say that Holly is seriously the most uncoordinated and least athletic person I've ever seen pretend to lead a workout. I can't wait to see if Bridget and Kendra's show up.

I was starting to think that season, too. One prime example that stands out in my mind was when Bridget was all excited about getting her fancy sports car and Holly said something to the effect of, "Oh, she was all excited Hef got it for her, but I didn't think it was a big deal; I saw those kinds of cars growing up in Beverly Hills." (Paraphrased very loosely, so forgive me if I got the town wrong.)

Yes, she is becoming cattier towards the other girls. She must realize that if not for the semi-success of the series, it would be just her and her puffin in the mansion. Since the 3 girls are now a brand, Playboy will try to keep the 3 together for as long as they can.

Leesha, I guess was more referring to Playmates and woman who didn't have a name for themselves before PB like Jenny, Pamela or Carmen Electra. I don't think it's a matter of breast implants because many big time actresses have them (i.e. Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Sharon Stone, Jane Fonda), but they just didn't go huge like Pammy. I guess once you're famous for taking off your clothes, it gets hard to get past that except in the case of Kelly Monaco, but that's probably because she never flaunted her PBness or had that typical PB look. Jenny doesn't have that look anymore, but like you said, she does campy comedy. I like her and Carmen and it would be nice to see them break out into more legit stuff.

A woman I used to know (we've since lost touch) used to be a make-up artist in NYC and has a good handle who has had what done (she has implants herself and can usually spot them a mile away). She says most actresses are pretty up front about it.

The entire market value of Playboy Enterprises is less than $400 million. You would hope that Hef would have diversified his investments a little bit, but maybe not. And I'm sure Kimberly found a lawyer in LA-LA-land to make sure she and the boys are financially secure. Then there's Christie Hefner, who is Chairman and CEO. I don't see much left for the GNDs.

I think Hef and the empire are banking on the GND success. And so far, it seems to bring in a decent chunk of change. Is it enough? Probably not. We're in a different age now and I honestly don't see the bleached blond, beach balls on chest look selling anymore. It seems like the natural look is selling now. Did anyone see a special on MTV where this young woman had plastic surgery and ended up with HUGE boobs?
