The cover of Jill Ann's book always cracks me up- how she's standing there in the foreground like the outcast and Holly, Hef, and Bridget are in the background like they're laughing at her (which they probably are). It's so very Sweet Valley High.

Ok, alot of those women were in some pretty good shape, but what was with the bulg-bellies amidst the hotness of the rest of their shape?
ITA -- and that traditional bunny costume is the worst culprit. The cut must be horrendous to give even a stick-figure like Holly a belly pouch.

She was horrible! Don't forget thinking she was above wearing a bikini. Clearly Holly and Bridget vetoed her, so it must have been the men who liked her. Even Hef still looked smitten with her, which boggles the mind if she did cheat on him (I use the term "cheat" loosely) and used him for elaborate gifts. I don't get it.
And that Cristal person is a scary example of plastic surgery gone bad. Funny how she's a former girlfriend and still didn't get the stupid waitress job. Word to whoever said they were surprised they ended up hiring so few people. Wouldn't a big club in Vegas need a lot of employees?

They had a Bunny Search in Las Vegas - I think they are either having more auditions in other cities or they have had auditions in other cities already. The Search in the Mansion was just for a fraction of the girls that would be needed.

The funniest part about the auditions is how serious everyone was, when we have a Vegas Twopper's info from a few pages back that the club is a dud. I need to go to Vegas on a fact-finding mission. Yeah. For um, research.

call me crazy but for some reason I got the impression that Hef hired her because he felt sorry for her. I think he(and maybe his brother) felt that if she was auditioning there it must be because she really needs the $$. I loved watching Bridget and Holly's reaction to her being there! interesting that she wasnt in a bikini-I wonder why?? She seems like such a nasty person! I was completely surprised they chose her and not Crystal who seems to have a much better personality.

I was very surprised at how the Crystal Camden thing went down. With Quiana they were all..."you don't need to try out..you got it"; then with Crystal they were all "she's a former girlfriend and a close personal friend of ours; I hope she gets it".

I caught up on a few episodes recently - and a great big WORD to everyone who says Kendra's a lesbian. It's become sooo obvious. She's beginning to grow on me, I like her far more than Brigit and Holly.
Re: the playboy club being lame - with the exception of maybe the first couple of years ehen the concept was fairly radical - the playboy clubs were always lame. By the late 60's they were little more than an early version of Hooters.

It was funny to me when Holly said the Playboy Clubs were "always successful." Who was she kidding? They were losing money like water. That's why they all eventually closed. It makes me wonder why they are even trying with a Vegas club. What do they think is different today?

I understand the thoughts behind the Playboy Club in Vegas and at the Palms. The Palms is a younger casino and they must believe that if young guys go to the club, see hot chicks and have a good time they will want to subscribe to the magazine. Plus if they watch the show, they can obviously spot people who they have seen on TV
But honestly, it just looks like another cheesy place with bunnies all over it. Yawn.

I was a mere twinkle in my mother's eye when the last Playboy clubs failed, but I feel like Playboy has really "branded" itself recently with PB merchandise, etc, etc. I'm guessing I'm probably around the club's target age, at 22, and I know that if I were in Vegas, at the Palms, all my guy friends would be into the idea. Strip clubs are definitely still popular, and I'd guess they'd see it as an upscale strip club (though, AFAIK, there's no actual stripping going on.) Anyway, just a thought.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the Palms who approached Hef with the idea in the first place. Don't forget, this is the same casino that housed the Real World: Las Vegas. They know first-hand that being on television is a great way to pimp your hotel. I could swear I read somewhere that somebody famous had specifically requested the Real World suite when they stayed at the Palms (Britney Spears? maybe?), so thinking of a way to capitalize on the popularity of Playboy doesn't really come as a shock.
But I'm confused: what exactly is the appeal of watching a bunch of girls in ill-fitting bunny outfits? Do they perform? or do they just serve drinks?

Oh, I totally called that. I can see them together. I'm a lot more comfortable with the idea of Bridget and Kendra having some kind of mutually satisfying relationship (in whatever form) with each other, than just them both giving it up to Hef and hating it. It's almost sweet, in a really f'ed up way.

I always thought Kendra seemed bothered by the other girls since she seems to have nada in common with Bridget and Holly. I got the vibe that Holly and Bridget are good friends or whatever. I do think Kendra is the lesbian though.
Jill Ann's book mentions Bridget having a regular boyfriend (not counting Hef of course). I wonder if that's the husband?

That's kind of what I was thinking too. Also, remember the episode where Kendra is talking with her friend (I think Monica?) and Bridget came in and was babbling - Kendra didn't seem the least bit interested in what she was saying.
I just don't get any kind of vibes between Kendra and Bridget. Plus Kendra gets all hot and bothered whenever athletes or rappers come around. Holly does make snarky comments about Kendra, though, so who knows...

Yeah, the segment was so incredibly short! Holly was the only one that talked. Although Kendra laughed, you can hear that from space. It was probably what...three minutes total or something? I'm so glad I DVR'd it and could fast forward to their segment. Ellen makes me want to eat my own head.

I thought their interview with Ellen was way too short, I don't even think she even said goodbye to them, I thought after the commercial they would be on again. Kinda disappointing. The girls all dressed better when they were in Europe though. They only one I thought looked hot was Kendra, and I usually don't think so.

This was surprisingly true! Holly looked like a skanky Catholic schoolgirl, and Bridget was dressed very casually. Kendra actually looked like a serious grown-up, which almost made it worth watching.
