Yeah. Holly must give amazing head.

I think he said Holly because she is his current girlfriend. There would be nothing worse for his relationship with Holly then if he said Barbie or first wife. And Holly lets he be with other girls (or so they claim he is able to) and Barbie and the wife expected monogamy.

E! did a 2-hour retrospective on Hef and his legacy last Sunday night.
Being the reality show junkie that I am, I got hooked on "Girls Next Door" which comes across pretty wholesome. The 2-hour E True Hollywood Special on Hef ALSO comes across as very innocent and all American (I actually felt sorry for the guy).
After reading this forum I have to wonder if E! has turned into a big publicity machine to promote their shows. (Notice the E! True Hollywood Story isn't as juicy and vicious as it was a few years ago.)

I've noticed the same thing since they had a True Hollywood Story on the Simpson clan around the time that Joe Simpson was producing that Filthy Rich Cattle Drive show.

Hef's daughter Christina is pretty, but it must suck for your dad to be dating women young enough to be your daughter.
I'll bet that she gave up hope that her dad would be a decent human being who respected women and be invested in fatherhood decades ago. He has two other kids who live next door. He seems incredibly self-centered and his childhood needs to be overly played out b/c he has no room for anyone else.
PS. Christie blogs
here. She's pretty intelligent and must love the fact that her dad is constantly involved with vacuous idiots whose biggest goal in life is to pose nude in his magazine.

From the E! THS I gathered that his current wife Kimberly was the love of his life, or "soul-mate" as she put it. I don't believe that they're still together just for financial reasons.
That being said, I am completely addicted to the GND! Even if I would never want to live that kind of life (sharing my boyfriend with any chick who walks through the door) I can't help but watch!

Well Kimberly's definitely still in love with him, not sure if the feeling is mutual. One of the sons said he still gives his mom a rose every year on their anniversary. Although it is interesting that he won't divorce her -- I'm sure money has a lot to do with it, or maybe he wants an excuse to not have to marry Holly. Or maybe he really does have feelings for her. Who knows.
Funny how the women he stayed with the longest were the ones who insisted on monogamy. I hate to bring up the cow and the free milk...

I didn't watch the whole THS, I think I turned it off about 45 minutes into it, still the whole concept of Palyboy is fascinating, and still even today, I think the 60s and 70s eras were alot better than now, even though it still seems they have alot of fun!

I was intrigued by the fact that Kimberly still had issues with the playmates all of these years later-some of her comments held very thinly disguised hatred of the 'Playboy lifestyle' and the bunnies roaming around. Although I would not even disguise my hatred if I were her-those women were the competition. And I also loved how Kimberly said she and Hef soulmates and Holly said Hef told her those were the most miserable years of his life.

I KNOW!!!! I can't believe Holly said that!!! I wonder how Kimberly reacted when she saw that in there. I thought it showed a lot of things we usually don't get to see - namely, Hef's sons with Kimberley and Kimberley actually talking about her relationship with Hef.
I thought that Holly, Kendra and Bridget came across OK, except for that one snarky comment by Holly. Boy, she musy *REALLY* resent the fact that Hef is still married!

Did anyone think that on the THS when they showed old pictures of Holly she looked extremely homely??? Not that I think she's anything great now but she was almost hard to look at in the old photos. I couldn't figure out exactly what she'd changed though.
Last week my sister and I were listening to Howard Stern and he was interviewing two playmates who have some sort of talk show on Playboys satellite radio station. One was describing how she ended up in Hef's bedroom one night, and while she didn't join in, she watched all the girlfriends, plus others, have full on sex with each other and Hef. She said that Hef just laid there while they all took turns jumping on. Disgusting! It seemed like some of Pam Anderson's comments on THS about what she had observed at the mansion also mirrored this same type of situation.
I was one who while watching the show always believed that Kendra and Bridget never even touched the old man. Now I'm not so sure.

I got the same impression. Kimberly is obviously still very much in love with Hef.
Holly said Hef told her those were the most miserable years of his life.
I thought this was an incredibly tacky thing to say during her interview.. IMHO, Holly seems very jealous of Kimberly. I did have to laugh, though, when she said, "Hef and I have sex all the time." I just find it hilarious that she's bragging about having sex all the time with an 80 year old man when she's, what, 25?

On Holly's facial changes, I definately thin she had something done to her eyes, what I don't know. But that's what stands out differently to me now. I STILL wanna know the story of how she started coming to the mansion and whatnot, and her family, since we have seen Kendra's and qutie a bit of Bridgett's.
Holly I think, just has the insecurity thing down so much, you can tell she tries not to let it show as it may give life to her leaving the mansion and actually having to depend on getting gigs and a regular paycheck on her own rather than getting a bone thrown to her in the occassional photoshoot and appearance courtesy of Playboy!

I just found this site (love it ) and have been trying to catch up on all the messages, I'm only on message 29 so if i repeat someone elses message forgive me.
My thing is with Bridget and wanting to be in Playboy so badly. Do you think maybe seeing her Father being so intrigued with the magazine that he felt like a 5 year old should see it, and now living with the man that owns it, she feels she would be a let down to them and herself if she didn't get in the magazine?
"Kendra's Hair" poor child and her frazzled hair, the only thought i have for that is maybe she is in the chlorine pool more often than the others, being she is more active.

Does anyone know if Barbi Benton has done anything with her life after leaving Hef? Did she go back to school? Pre-med? Did she ever get married? Have kids? I'm not saying you have to be married and have kids to have a fulfilling life but Barbi's just seemed so, I don't know, empty. I was watching the Fight Night episode the other night and I had just watched the THS and it just struck me...here's this woman who used to be so adventurous and outgoing and 40 years later she's coming back to the mansion, fawning all over her ex-boyfriend, getting plastered (oh my word, the slurring at the fight was insane) and reminding said ex-boyfriend about all the fun things they did together 40 YEARS AGO in front of his new young girlfriends. I all of a sudden just felt so sad for her. Like she is still living in the past in this suspended moment of "Hef still loves me and wanted to marry me and if I hadn't turned him down maybe he would have stayed with me and maybe if I still tell him today that I now accept his proposal we can get married"
Also something I noticed from Fight Night: I vaguely remember back when it originally aired that Kendra got a lot of flack for shaking her ass and flirting with the sports stars and the stupid mannequin is hot comment. But the other night I saw it in a different light. First off...if I had an ass like Kendra's I'd sure as hell be shaking it. You're only young once. Secondly, she has grown up staring at these sports stars and idolizing them and lusting after them, of course she's going to go over and fawn all over them. And I definitely think she just kept retelling the story of how she originally thought the dummy was a real person. It was just her funny story to tell that night that would make people laugh and would break the ice. Can y'all tell Kendra is clearly my favorite Girlfriend?

Holly is snobbish, Kendra is boy trapped in a pretty girls body, and Bridgett acts like a virgin, but we know she has been screwed. Hef has 3 different themes going there. The popular stuck up girl in school, the girl in school that did every sport and was good at it, and the girl that was the virgin in school. What would Pam Anderson fall under cause you know Hef did her too. considering she was on his bed with the sex and stuff that one night.

Saw the Midsummer's party episode for the first time tonight. Poor Anastasia, she looked like a total Bridget clone afterwards. I thought Holly giving her the chicken cutlets was somewhat insulting. I mean, I realize they wanted to help her, but that was just mean. Especially at a restaurant!
When the party started and I saw Kendra dancing, I mean wow. Her boobs look like someone took grapefruit halves and shoved 'em right under her skin. If you're bone thin in the first place, fake boobs will not look good on you.

Ok I saw the THS about Hef for the first time last night, and I can't BELIEVE they are still trying to convince us that bony old corpse-like Hugh is banging his harem of blond skanks. The worse part was when Pamela Anderson talked about how he had sex with all of his (then) seven girlfriends and how she saw them and so forth. You know, I use to think her homemade porn was the most degrading thing Pam has ever done, until she uttered that crap.
This also makes me understand why so many women's rights advocates want to slap Hef upside the head. It's like the entire "Playboy philosophy" is about building up Hugh's mosterous ego. (I mean did you HEAR the the way he was going on and on about "what he did for the civil rights movement" as if putting a pair of chocolate-covered implants in the mag made him Malcolm XXX.) Take for instance, his rules about client/bunny relations at his Playboy clubs (gee, and don't THOSE sound familiar too.) Call it a hunch, Hef but I think that might be one of the things that get those uppity, shrill hairy-legged "man-hating" feminist to think that the Playboy thing is "degrading."
Holly is deluded if she thinks she's anything but sloppy seconds of the girl Hef REALLY liked. Compared to idiots like her, his second wife seems rather reasonable (although I disagree and feel she didn't really love him either. Or at least ALL of him. As she sorta said she loved "Hugh" not "Hef", and it did seem aparent that she was sorta trying to change him. Make the mansion a little more family-friendly and toned down. I suspct that Hef did in fact resnt that a little, which may explain why he's "busting loose" and trying out the bimbo brigades.)

The thing that was so hilariously incredible about that part was that the African-American playmate wasn't even featured until like 1989!! Way to go for the civil rights movement - a good 20-30 years later. If he was really so progressive, he would have at least had minority playmates much, much earlier. What a joke.

Well, that's fine but I still stand by my point - they chose Reneee as the moment to highlight how much Hef had done for the civil rights movement instead of highlighting the other playmate from the 60's and it sounded ridiculous. Why didn't they mention the first African American playmate? And was she Miss March in both 1964 and 1965? I don't understand why there's a slash there?

This is HILARIOUS. And dead on. As a feminist, I have mixed feelings about HH (mainly frustration--he is pretty intelligent and it seems he's deliberately limiting his life) but I do think he tries to support liberal political causes in his own weird way. But when he tries to trumpet himself as some sort of feminist or civil rights icon--oy. Because HH more than anything wants to sell magazines--and he knows if he front loads the cover with baby-white blondes with implants, that's what sells.

I think I am about to get tarred and feathered for this, but here goes. I think that Hef is dead on with alot of the things he says about how it's unfair that women alone have had to pay the price for people who indulge in a lifestyle/sexuality...he certainly isn't saying it's right or wrong or that everyone should do it, just that people be honest with themselves and their significant others if that sort of lifstyle strikes appealing to them...that and the famed notion that nice girls like sex too....I'm just not down with how when adopting this for himself he imposes the women involved to a curfew and that they can't date anyone else...

Hef has always been a Libertarian, which sometimes differs strongly from Liberalism. Christie Hefner is a down-the-line liberal. She raised a ton of money for Clinton, and did everything else she could, without creating any negatives for him.
The black playmate of the month was a big deal at the time, as well as hiring "well-qualified" bunnies at the Playboy Clubs, which did NOT mean always light-complected. Playboy at Night, a syndicated tv program, showed blacks and whites in a social setting, long before that was common. The primary form of music at Playboy Clubs was jazz, which meant a lot of visibility and income for black musicians. I'm not saying Hef was a leader of the civil rights movement, but he was way ahead of the status quo; basically a true "equal opportunity" employer.

Hugh Hefner bugs me, but it doesn't really rise much above the 'eh, irrelevant' line. He did an interview with Scott Simon on NPR a few years ago that was really obnoxious. Scott Simon was drooling a Hugh was pretty much saying that he should be a feminist hero. argh.

I cannot believe how stupid Kendall is. I really thought it was all put on so that hef would think she was cute, but really, I'm a flapper - what's a flapper? Oh a flapper is someone who runs around in high heels making her ass cheeks flap in the wind that's why I'm a flapper!!
Bridget is the bright one. She'll walk out of there with a college education and a few dollars in her pocket from the show.

And see, that's why those uptight feminist are oh so wrong when they say that Playboy doesn't empower women. :-)
It a bored stupor, I saw a rerun of an episode where it was apparently Halloween. I saw Bridget brag about about how much she and Hef have in common because they both like Halloween (yeah...um...grasp at those slippery straws dear). She also talked about how she named her cat Wednesday and she was going to name her child that. God, please don't let her reproduce.
I also saw Holly and Kendra make "funny" gravesites for thier friends in a scene that reiterates that if these women didn't have fake jugs, there would be NOTHING appealing about them at all. Witnessing a bunch of sluts make painfully unfunny comments and then laugh stupidly and obnoxiously is about as arousing as saltpeter. Add their catty, jealous, gossipy nature and lack of interest or charisma (and hideously plain faces), and these supposedly "sexy" chicks are the type of erection-killers than even a whole bottle of Viagra can't rectify.

Is it just me or does it seem like Holly is the only real girlfriend? They've even made references to it in the past, like when Barbi Benton came and Holly was the only when pissed off. Or when Bridget said "Got to protect Holly and Hef's relationship" (paraphrasing), or how Holly is the only one to ever care that Hef might be dating some girl when she's not there. Maybe she's the main girlfriend, and they're just sistergirlfriends (TM Big Love).
