I just hear Robin discuss the taping of her new talk show this morning during the Howard Stern Radio Show. She was describing the wardrobe, hair and makeup people asking her to do a prayer circle before the taping and it sounded hilarious. She said she was dumbstruck since she's not religious but caved in anyway. Her show sounds like it will be really interesting and Howard was asking her lots of questions. Let the floodgates of discussion begin...

Any idea what it will air on? Cable or regular tv? Hmmmmm.

I heard some of it too, and it sounded to me like a lame combo of early Oprah, with some Maury, and Montel thrown in for good measure. Do we really need another daytime talk show that isn't offering anything original? How many times do we need to see the paternity test shows and kids who disrespect their trashy parents? If I want to watch those kinds of shows, we certainly have plenty to choose from that are still on the air. Couldn't Robin come up with something better? With her background in news, I would rather see her do an interview-style show relating to current topics. She is more talented than this stuff. She has been playing that second bananna role for so long, that maybe she doesn't think she can do anything but this regurgitated garbage, I think she could.

Yeah, I was thinking it sounded pretty lame, too. Very Montel/Maury/Sally-Jessie/Jenny-alicious.

Sheesh, is anyone refused a talk show? What is Robin going to do, sit in a booth and laugh and say uh-huh...

Will she still be with Howard when he switches to Sirius?

She will still be with Howard come January.
I thought I read somewhere that her show had been originally scheduled for this fall but has now been pushed back.

I hope she fails Seeing how she's constantly laughing at celebs who do, I say give her a taste of her own medicine.

I'm kind of excited now that I figured out who she is. At first I thought it was that lady that married Mike Tyson.
Is it like a celebrity guest show or a dumb Maury type show?

I actually think Robin would be good at hosting a talk show, but IMO she will have a tough time attracting the key female viewers because of the Stern connection.
I doubt the show will make air though since it's already been pushed back a season, and that's never a good sign.

I really like Robin. I would be interested to see what her show will be like. I've read her book-which was very good. I think she'd make a good talk show host.

She should use Bettlejuice's song as her theme....

I dunno about that. I don't think most of the women who watch Day Time TV listen to Howard Stern. I think they have different audiences.
I'm looking forward to it. She's a smart woman, and as long as she doesn't duplicate the crap already out there (mindless celeb chatfests, "Who's your baby's daddy??".....), I think she will succeed.
I'm just looking for something different.
Anything. Different. I'm actually looking forward to Martha Stewart's new Day Time talker, for the simple reason that I've never watched a convicted felon host a talk show before. Hey, it's different.

Anyone knows when Robin's new show premieres? Which network?

Not until next year at the earliest. I heard something about it having 'clearance troubles' on Stern's show last week. I took it to mean that most local stations are choosing not to buy it. It was kind of a throwaway reference to Tyra Banks' show being on the air already, but Robin's having clearance issues.

Thank you to those who responded. Pushed back to next year? Not a good sign.
