Does anybody remember Phil doing an interview in the early 1980's with an American family who were moving to Leningrad to live in the socialist paradise? He interviewed them before they left and then one year into their new lives?
Any clue as to what ever happened to them?

I'd like to know this one too. The dad was very paranoid and his family seemed to be afraid of him. He thought the US government was after him, right?

Are old Donahue shows being shown? If so, where?
ETA And if not, why not!

I don't know anywhere that is showing old shows. I kept promising myself I'd sit down and watch when my babies were grown. Well, PD retired or whatever and my kids grew.
I just remember the "To Leningrad Family" as being kind of weird. Couple of children right?
It's just one of those TV moments that are hidden in the back of the brain that spring forward again.
Anyway, I'm glad someone else remembers them. I was begining to think I'd made them up!!!

Phil owes us an update special, or maybe thirty minute Reader's Digest versions of his old shows, purely for historical and educational reasons. I think young women of today should see the whooping, assertive audiences of Oprah contrasted to Phil's rows of conservatively dressed, afraid to venture an opinion creatures sorely shocked by Dick Gregory and Blaze Starr. (And shocked by career women, birth control or liberal divorce laws). Phil has a time capsule in his vault, with much to remind us of. Perhaps we should e-mail Marlo?

No kidding - I'd watch. The clothing alone would be amusing. I actually went to the TVLand site and suggested it. Any idea what other sources to request? Besides Marlo - I don't have her e-mail address.
