Tia had a nice, sit-down interview with Regis and Kelly this morning. She looked beautiful and was very gracious. I was surprised that Regis was so pro-Tia, anti-George, he made several comments about how he couldn't believe that Tia got eliminated before George and how wrong it was. Tia nicely said that George was a bon vivant and a great "performer." Regis asked, "But is he a better dancer than you?" Tia demurred with a, "Well . . .," and Reege finally dropped it. Tia pointed out Max in the audience (wow, did he look hot with that brown, suede jacket and stubble.) When the audience cheered for Max, Tia and Kelly joked that they heard some cat calls from men. Kelly also said that Max was really cute. When asked what she planned to do next, Tia said that she was going to sleep for a week-and-a-half and spend time with her baby, then she and Max would be back for the finale. Hooray!

Pre show he was the boybander but he's also Nick Lachey's brother and we all know how much press Jessica and Nick have gotten in the past few years. Now that might not be completely a positive, but Drew and wife were often featured on Newleyweds, so the MTV generation is familiar with Drew even if they don't know him on his own apart from his brother. Mix in the fact that he's young and cute and voila...
For me, once I read all of this here, that was a huge turn-off and made me dislike him and root against him initially.

I also think Drew has gained a tremendous fanbase from this show so far. He's a good dancer, but he has also been shown to be a hard worker, a great entertainer and seems to be an all around good guy--or at least that's how he comes across. I think he comes across as very charming so that will all work in his favor.
Yep, that's how he won me over! I'm now rooting FOR him to win the whole thing! Great dancer, works hard, seems like a nice guy. Works for me!

I'm still bummed that I missed the show Friday, and BARRY MANILOW!!! Sniff... So sad.
MysteriousKitty
It's funny I am not worried about Drew at all. I think not only does he have his built in boy band fan base but I think like others have said he has grown on people. I know that I will be voting for him this week. I voted for Tia last week and now I am moving onto Drew because I really like him. Look at Joey and Ashly last year I mean they got harsh criticism and scores from the judges but they were in the top 3. I think Drew is going to be fine. Also I have to say I really like Lisa and Louis. I find her to be fun and I love the fact that she is trying so hard to do well. I hope that they can have a great cast of dancers again next year because I really enjoyed this year.
You are a Towel
Technique talk is getting a bit boring for me today so I'm putting together my fantasy celebrity dancer list for next season...

Brett Favre (if he ends up retiring.. major hottie, IMO!)

Drake Hogestyn (John from Days.... all those funny eyebrow raises, tee)

Jenna Fischer? (Pam from The Office)

Adrianne Curry(because she's got the bod and it would be entertaining to watch)

Grant Wilson (paranormal investigator from the show Ghost Hunters)

Cesar Millan (the Dog Whisperer)

Morgan Webb (from the G4 video game channel)

Dog The Bounty Hunter (c'mon y'all know you want to see if he's got it)

Pink

Andie Macdowell (to fill the M.I.L.F. quotient, if they need 2 MILFs, then substitute Jane Seymour for Pink...hee)

Does Stacy remind anyone else of Karen Grassle (Ma from Little House on the Prairie)? Mostly for her pleasant and smiley expressions.
ziglettospal
Hahahahah! Dog from "The Bounty Hunter." Awesome!

I've been thinking about having Stacy, from the TLC version of "What Not To Wear." She's just so weird and bossy and sort of prissy, and you know she'd have some choice things to say about the costumes etc.
mellotune
Can Max be any hotter? Regis and Kelly showed him briefly- major yum! Max, we will miss you and your pants more than words can say...

Does anyone know for sure how many more weeks DWTS will run? For some reason, it's starting to drag a little bit for me.

It was so funny but when my daughter and I were watching the Super Bowl and Jerry Rice was introduced, we're both like, "what about your dance practice?!" and wondering if his Super Bowl partying will affect his performance this week. And didn't Anna pooh-pooh Jerry's interest in the football playoffs? Can you imagine her reaction when Jerry told her he HAD to go to the Super Bowl?
MysteriousKitty
What a great idea You are a Towel! Here is my list(although I am having trouble with guys I want to see.)

Susan Lucci-If they are going to have another soap star I want it to be her.

Stepfanie Kramer- She was on the 80's cop show "Hunter".

Christine Lahti- I just really like her personality and I think she would fit in well on the show.

Nancy Grace- She's on Court Tv. Yes this is a wierd choice but I would want it just to see how she would handle it and handle the judges. Maybe she would finally be the one to slap some sense in to Carrie ann!

Charles Shaunasy- He was on "The Nanny". I think he would be cool to see on the show.

Dana Delaney-She's been in a few Lifetime movies and was on a show called "Pasadena".

David Hasslehoff- Just for the comedic aspect!

I was thinking the same thing.

Actually, part of me wondered if Anna was there to practice with him in spare moments. Perhaps we'll get some info on Thursday when we see the practice reels.

Then I was thinking that she was going to work him all the harder for missing a day or two of practice. I did notice, however, that he still had his MVP ring around his neck the way he does for the show.

I'd love to see Morgan Webb on DwtS! She's such a geek girl, I love her. I wonder what sports figures they'll be bringing on in the future. If they have problems with Jerry's posture, they should get Lance Armstrong or Eric Heiden... guys who spend years of their lives hunched over to do what they do.

Maybe I just want to see Anna whack them with a ruler or stick a pole down their shirts and tell them to stand up straight or something. I think these Anna the Dominatrix fantasies are getting too... is it hot in here?
PhoenixV
Don't forget there are people out there who are voting for the person they feel had the best dance of the evening.

I think there are actually a lot; it's what I try to do, though as it has turned out I do sometimes vote to support a contestant I think was unfairly rated by the judges.

As for Stacy, the relentless pimping by the judges might be turning people off, no matter what they think of her or her dancing.

Likewise, though, there are probably a lot of people who see the judges as The Experts, and automatically align their perceptions largely with what the judges say.

Word. I happen to be a huge football fan and I love Jerry Rice, but I have yet to vote for him. (I did vote for Kenny but only because I felt that he at least tried, unlike Master P.) I root for him and want him to do well, but no way do I think he should win it.

I voted for Jerry when I was concerned that he was most at risk wrt P (that was the week that Giselled went, and boy, was I kicking myself! Not that it would have been likely to make a difference).

I actually didn't mind Kenny going the first week; I wanted it to be him or P. Kenny was so mocking of the whole thing, and such an unmitigated disaster, that I didn't see him deserving another chance. At that point, all we knew of P was that he'd had less time to train than anyone else, having been pulled in to sub for his son at the last moment. It seemed pretty reasonable to give him another chance. If he'd come back the next week wearing dancing shoes and acting like he was really trying, I would have supported him.

Well, if we are already planning for next year...I think Shatner would be hysterical on this show. Especially if he danced like Kirk talked.

Did they say who was the musical guest next week....or is there none?
barkley
I voted for Lisa, not because she's on SoapNet, but in spite of her being on SoapNet. I can't stand her on that show.

Just saw these links on another board - Stacy is the cover girl for Stuff magazine this month:

Cat Whisperer
Stuff can thank Stacy for being the reason why I bought my first (and perhaps last) issue of this magazine. Here's a short snippet from the interview.

STUFF: What has it been like preparing to compete on DwTS?
STACY: We've been practicing four hours a day, plus we've been having interviews and photo shoots. My whole life right now is becoming a professional ballroom dancer.

That last statement is interesting. It could be interpreted in a couple of ways. Could it mean she intends to pursue dancing professionaly? This would be a blow to the WWE, and a shame because I was looking forward to a "Bra and Panties" match which I've heard of but never got the chance to watch.
clancy25
Its funny, I was about to mention Stacy in Stuff but you beat me to it. The funny thing is that a few days ago a local tv station here in Baltimore (Stacy's hometown) did a story about her Stuff appearance. The ridiculous thing is that they played up as a "Dancing with the Stars scandal." Stacy's done tons of these photoshoots in the past, including I believe for Stuff. Its hardly in the same category as posing for something like Penthouse.

Anyone really interested in seeing a "bra and panties" match shouldn't find it too hard to find on the web, like the WWE's own website.
MDKNIGHT
So happy to see that Charlotte really is as nice as she came across. I have to say that she did influence my voting thought I'd never seen her before DWTS. I just kept thinking she was so talented that sometimes I voted more for her than JOH per se. Although I thought he was pretty good.

Once I heard he was Nick's brother, I was prepared to despise him just because of his connection to one thing I hate - the blonde bimbo brigade of Jessica / Britney / Paris.

I'll join you in the Blonde Bimbo Brigade Haters club house. You hit my top three hatred targets exactly. Consequently I never watched Newleyweds and you could have extracted a confession out of me by forcing me to do so. Which is why I too wigged when I thought about a Jessica relative (even if it was just by marriage) being on. Little did I know he would capture my heart.

What I loved about Drew on Newlyweeds was his barely concealed disdain of his sister-in-law. His eyes practically rolled out of his head whenever they were together.

Really? Wow it just gets better and better. So I can respect Drew as a human with taste too and not just as a dancer? Cool.

I wouldn't mind Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) being on DWTS but I kind of would like to see if Alicia Menshew (Kendal Hart, Erica's daughter) has rhythm. She has the long legs Bruno likes and seems nice and fun so, if she actually moves well, she could go far.

As for the retired older athlete spot how about instead of a guy, a woman? Dorothy Hamill. Sure she moves great on ice but can she dance? I'd like to find out.

BTW I think I recognized Dana Delaney in the promo for Battlestar Galactica for this week. I hadn't seen her since Pasadena got canceled but I agree she might be interesting as a contestant.
sgupta4
I am with you MDKNIGHT in now having even greater respect for Drew. Great dancer and person with taste.

ETA: Deleted some non-show related comments.

What does MILF stand for? I'll probably be kicking myself, but I just can't come up withanything that makes sense.

Yes, but I'd rather see Clinton on the show!!!

And MILF is a term that I personally despise...because it stands for Mothers I'd Like to F*&#. Very nice.
GoodThings
Charles Shaunasy- He was on "The Nanny". I think he would be cool to see on the show.
He was also on Days of Our Lives in the 80s.

What does MILF stand for? I'll probably be kicking myself, but I just can't come up withanything that makes sense.
I learned from The Apprentice that MILF = Mother I'd Like to Fornicate (yeah, just can't type what F really means). Anyway, it's the "Your mom is HOT" thing. So Lisa (and Tia?!) this year and Rachel Hunter last season are MILF.

Also, regarding Catherine Zeta-Jones...talk about a ringer! Seeing as how she won an Oscar for her dancing in a musical....I think she's a bit too advanced....But I think Michael Douglas would be interesting (Michael, not Kirk) since the little teeny tiny bit he danced in A Chorus Line showed that he doesn't have the most grace in the world....
Kelsey
I saw Felicity Huffman on a talk show a week or two ago and she mentioned that she would like to do DWTS; she doesn't know how to dance but she would like the opportunity to learn. She seems to give her all to whatever she is doing and would be fun to watch.

It would be nice if the next batch of contestants all came to show with no dance experience so that they are on an even playing field. Stacy seems to have an unfair advantage this season.
PhoenixV
Well, if we are already planning for next year...I think Shatner would be hysterical on this show.

Oh, my. What a concept.

I think I'd rather see Nimoy, though. He'd take it seriously, and I bet he'd be pretty good.

I want to see Dominic Purcell, but he's probably too busy to commit all those hours to the training.

Bruce Boxleitner or Jason Carter would be interesting.

For the women, Mira Furlan, Claudia Christian, or Patricia Tallman would all be good.
scootman
I'd vote for Boxleitner's spouse, Melissa Gilbert. Laura Ingalls doing the Rumba would be cool.

And how about a male soap star this time, in the JHO George mold? I just think David Canary would do great, and it's a quick shout out to us Bonanza fans.

Sorry for many topics in one post, I'm trying to catch up on the last few pages.

In March I'm gonna show up to the gay club downtown for their $4 ballroom dance classes, thanks to this show

Just curious does that mean two men would tango with each other for instance? In the words of Jerry Sienfeld..Not that there's anything wrong with it. It is just I'm curious, it would make an interesting visual. Reminds me that some gay iceskaters wanted permission to perform in competitions as a two man ice dancing team. Again it would be interesting.

Instead of having "male"/"female" dance steps, you have "lead"/"follow" dance steps, and each person chooses which part they want regardless of gender. Gender-neutral (as opposed to gay since it is quite feasible to have people with other goals than just of dancing with someone of the same gender, though that is definitely the most common pursuit in these classes) social dance lessons appear to be pretty common in large cities, it's just not usually well-advertised. Here in Seattle, it's pretty public with the most prominent local ballroom devoting their Friday nights to Queer Swing. In Dallas it was little more low-key -- I knew a guy who taught west coast swing in a gay bar, but people outside the gay community wouldn't know it existed.

I know [Drew] was in Rent but he could do more dancy parts.

The first I ever heard of Drew was when I saw a picture of him in Rent. I looked at him and thought "Wow, does he look so much like Nick Lachey!" Then I saw his name and laughed. Next I heard of him was on DwtS.

Thinking about Drew doing the Tango, and I would love if they used an instrumental version of Tango Maureen as a nod to Rent. (like they did with the True Lies) With different, more serious and traditional choreography of course, as in Rent the show the choreography is strictly comical.

Did you see the film version of Rent? They expanded the tango scene nicely, including bringing in Maureen to taunt them. There was one move where Maureen's leg wrapped around her dance partner, went up between the guy's legs, and then she basically molested the guy with her shoe. So hot!! I don't normally like explicit moves, but that rocked.

As to dream contestants:
When they talked about L'il Romeo in the first episode, I misunderstood at first and thought they were talking about L'il Bow Wow. Then I thought what a great contestant Li'il Bow Wow would be -- likeable, good attitude, and moves well. Another celebrity I think would be fun to see, for basically the same reasons, is Jason Alexander.

Great celeb suggestions for next season, everybody! Let me throw a few out:

Tanya Roberts (50) - ex-Bond girl and Charlie's Angel, played a hot mom on That '70s Show a few years back.

Phoebe Cates (42) - star of '80s teen movies, married to Kevin Kline, hasn't acted in a while, could be ready for a comeback.

Other option: Lisa Hartman Black (49) - ex-soap star (Knots Landing), singer, married to Clint Black, hasn't been doing much acting in the last few years, could be ready for a comeback.

Rachael Ray (37) - fun, down-to-earth host of several cooking shows on The Food Network.

Other option: Giada De Laurentiis (35) - comes from family of movie producers, host of several cooking shows on The Food Network.

Lisa Guerrera (41) - sports commentator/interviewer (Fox's Best Damn Sports Show), ex-soap actress, and former cheerleader.

Christie Brinkley (52) - beauty products spokesperson, former supermodel, very athletic.

Other option: Cheryl Tiegs (58) - former supermodel, very athletic.

Nate Berkus (34) - personable and talented decorator to the stars, appears on Oprah regularly.

Dean Cain (39) - actor, played football in college (Princeton, I believe), ex-TV Superman.

Joseph Lawrence (29) - actor, former teen idol, will appeal to the boy band lovers and fans of '90s sitcoms (Blossom).

Carter Oosterhouse (29) - hottie carpenter who's appeared on TLC and Three Wishes.

John Schneider (51) - he's out of a job now, so he'd probably be available. Middle-aged, but very attractive and fit, has fans from both Dukes of Hazzard and Smallville.

Other option: Patrick Duffy (56) - actor, onetime star of Dallas and that horrible sitcom with Suzanne Somers. Also, very attractive and fit.

Other option: Bruce Boxleitner (55) - star of everything from Scarecrow and Mrs. King to Babylon, married to ex-Half Pint and former SAG President, Melissa Gilbert.

Oooh, this made me think of someone I'd absolutely love to see on DwtS. Andrew Dan-Jumbo from TLC's While You Were Out. I'd just be giddy with squee if he did the show.

I was thinking the same thing.

Anna has no say in this. It's a guy thing, and if she's smart, she'll leave it alone. He wasn't just there to party. He is still employed by the NFL is a few capacities, and he's an investor. She needs to lay off of that. I didn't like that last week.

Oops, forgot a celerbity wish list.
Hulk Hogan. Just imagine him ripping off his shirt and flexing after a waltz.

Edited to say that if Hulk won't do it, get Ric Flair. His sequin robes are to die for.

He really had to be there in Detroit for the MVP ceremony; a couple of other former MVPs who weren't there are taking a lot of grief now. Maybe he can put in extra time for the rest of the week.

Other option: Bruce Boxleitner (55) - star of everything from Scarecrow and Mrs. King to Babylon, married to ex-Half Pint and former SAG President, Melissa Gilbert.

I haven't thought of him in years; had a huge crush on him when I was in my teens. I would love to see him do it.

I made the same mistake regarding Bow wow and Romeo. So now I have no idea who Lil Romeo is.

Rather than Jason Alexander I was thinking Michael Richards (Kramer)

Even though I do like this season's celebs (minus P Assy of course), I have a special fondness for Season 1's celebs. They didn't know if the show would be a hit or if they would be the laughing stock of the nation. They were willing to take the gamble (especially Evander).
Tegan Jovanka
I didn't have a problem with season 1's group, although some of them were proably just there because of the ABC ties (Trista, Kelly) and others have been on every reality show but Cops (Rachel Hunter). What ruined season 1 for me was the bitterness at the end. First Joey became so unhappy in his last few episodes, and then that ugly conflict with John O'Hurley and Kelly which made just about everyone involved look bad. I really thought that was going to kill the show because any fun or cheesiness inherent to the program went right out the window.

I really like that this group of people are super-competitive, yet they're also friends. I hope that continues even into the final rounds.

Does anyone else wish that now that they're down to 5 couples, they wouldn't do a bottom 2? Most of the couples left are talented and have worked their asses off and it seems unfair to penalize them as one of the worst and play mind games with them. Perhaps I'm just irritated because I'm pretty sure Drew will be in the bottom 2 and the show will use that to tell him he's slipping or whatever.

Have any of you listened to Len Goodman's podcasts on ABC.com? Are they any good?

Does that rehearsal clip website (I can't remember the link) still have footage of Drew and Cheryl's first 2 dances? I'd like to see those again, I've forgotten most of those dances.

I'm not a big George Hamilton fan, but to those of you who are - what do you think his best performance has been this season?

And finally...does Strictly Come Dancing use the bad out of tune orchestra, like this show does, or do they just play the actual songs, like Skating With Celebrities does? I'd rather see that for a few weeks; if they have to keep up with the bad music choices at least play the original versions which were in tune.
laceydwts
I haven't listened to Lens podcast but he does give "masterclasses" in each of the 5 main Latin and Ballroom dances here

http://www.bbc.co.uk/strictlycomedancing/l...ces_index.shtml

Click on the dance and scroll down for the video

And on The UK Strictly Come Dancing, it is a live band. They are a lot better than the US band IMHO. I've heard a few critics but I think they are great. They have a couple of male singers who have great voices do amazing versions of some big band/swing songs. I have never noticed the band being out of tune.
GoodThings
Another celebrity I think would be fun to see, for basically the same reasons, is Jason Alexander.
But if we want this to be a level playing field, he would be out....he's a song and dance man with a strong background in Broadway musicals....

I don't think people with childhood dance training should be out, but I think that if they've made a living out of dancing (theater or dancing specifically, not necessarily singers or movie actors) then they shouldn't do it.

I'm not a big George Hamilton fan, but to those of you who are - what do you think his best performance has been this season?

I'm not a huge fan either, but I think the answer is that we might be about to see it. From what I understand, the men will know do some of the slower dances the women did earlier in the series, and this means Jerry and Drew could be playing on the old guy's field now. George carries himself with grace and elegance, and he won't be at as much of an athletic disadvantage. As someone pointed out several pages ago, he is the guy you could imagine twirling around the floor with at a wedding.

Len's podcasts basically walk you through a few essential steps of each dance, and what the judges look out for. They are about 6 minuutes, tops. The idea is good, but they are so brief and there's no music to dance along to either. Bleh. There's no dirt on each episode a la Tim Gunn ( Project Runway). They should really consider that for the next series. Y'all probably found the Dancescape podcast interview with Louis from last year, and that was a good and interesting 25 minutes mas o menos of scoop on the first couple of eps from the first season.

I think that George and Jerry should be the next ones to go just because they aren't quite at the same level as the others, and probably won't be. George is dancing his very best and he's not bad, but there should be definite points taken off for how clear it is that Edyta is doing all the heavy lifting ( literally!). All the pros want to show off a little and show off their partners but Edyta's herculean efforts should only take them so far. Even though it was proptastic, I thought his Foxtrot was ultimate George.
At this point, I'll be supporting dancers based on what I'm seeing on the floor, not on their off-screen exploits. I really like Lisa and Louis because they are having so much fun. I probably wouldn't want to hang out with Lisa too long ( unless I planned on getting very toasted) in real life but her enthusiasm is charming and not grating to me. Drew/Cheryl and Stacy/Tony
are clear contenders as well, for the many reasons stated on this board.
I am a little worried for Lisa and in a way Drew, because now they have more Smooth dancing to do, while Stacy can finally rock out in the faster numbers. I'm not sure if Lisa can calm down long enough to smoove it out and Drew's mmmmmuscular shoulders could work against him for the kind of carriage required. Plus these two couples have really been able to work the "Ain't this fun? " vibe so well that I wonder if they can pull off " Isn't this romantic?" just as convincingly.

I nominate Kurt Browning for the athlete slot for next year. I'm sure he has dance training (he's just too good on skates not to have had tons of dance training) and he would be amazing and that would be fun to watch, plus he comes off like a great guy AND he got screwed on "Skating with Celebrities." Let him be the celeb this time instead of the expert. Kurt Browning dancing the chacha? Could knock every sock off within 50 miles.

I'm hoping they stay away from soap stars. But if you must... You might want to think about ABC golden girl Rebecca Budig, who played Greenlee on AMC and married Bachelor Bob Guiney. I think they may've sold future rights to their firstborn to ABC daytime.

Heather Locklear? If you give her Maksim to dance with, she just might do it now that she's single again.

I have a feeling that the current ratings for the show mean a lot of people who turned them down for this season or last are telling their agents to make the phone call to get them in for next time. Can Romber be far behind? Yechhhhhhhhh.

These are two people I never hope to see on this show. Rebecca was highly overrated and Bob is a total dud who gets enough ABC jobs based on no talent already.

I haven't thought of him in years; had a huge crush on him when I was in my teens. I would love to see him do it.

Re: Bruce Boxleitner

I had a crush on him too. Would love to see him here.

One of the reasons I thought he would be okay is that since he's a character actor, his musical theater dancing has been *mostly* just moving well, not full out dancing. But, it could just be the shows that I've seen -- he might have done more stringent dancing in other shows. After I suggested him, though, I pictured him trying to do the pasodoble and nearly laughed out loud. Thus I rescind my support for him and instead submit Jonathon Pryce as a suggestion. Yes, he's done a lot of musical theater, but definitely very little full dancing and more just moving well. He's got the class to do the smooth dances well and also the spunk to have fun with the Latin. Plus, he would fill the "old man" slot that the producers like to have around.

Does anyone know how they come up with the celebrities to use? Do the celebrities come to them, they go to specific celebrities, or they go to prominent firms of talent agents to pitch to all their clients? Just curious.

The day Romber is on this show is the day I stop watching.

I've been trying to forget about all the ugliness of the dance-off. I agree that the dance-off almost turned me off of the show this season. It was Jerry Rice, George, and Drew that made me watch.

I don't think Melissa Gilbert would ever do the show. Isn't she the SAG president? I doubt SAG members would approve of her doing a reality show, which is probably the biggest threat to working actors. In fact, this is probably why they will have to stick to C & D list "stars" rather than working actors. Doing a reality shows might seem a lot like crossing the picket line for all but the most down and out actors.

Wish List for Season 3....

Cheryl Ladd....currently playing Jillian Deline to Jimmy Caan's Ed Deline on Las Vegas. For that matter, James Caan! Probably creakier than George, tho.

And to continue the Vegas theme, a frequent guest celeb on there, Alec Baldwin. Or even better, his baby bro, Stephen, who I used to think was hot -- even after Bio Dome. (What?)

Ooh! Pauly Shore! That would be worth it's weight in snarkalicious gold...as long as he took it seriously. All the better for us not to.

Corbin Bernson

Kathy Griffin

A very bizzare idea crossed my mind...

Steven Segal

(or maybe we could just get Will Sasso <ex "Mad TV"> to play Segal and/or Shatner while being on DwtS3.)
Tegan Jovanka

With all the mugging and the desperate bids for attention, he might be more like the uncle I'd avoid. He probably will be more in his elements with the slower dancers, but I'm really going to be irritated if this causes him to stay around longer than Drew, when Drew has been so much better than him in every single dance, IMHO. If the judges suddenly choose this time to go after Drew, after he's been so great, then it's really going to tarnish this season. If Drew starts making lots of mistakes, then I can see why he might go, but I'm concerned this might be similar to last season where they started nitpicking Joey McIntyire to death and were judging him by standards they didn't judge the other dancers by. They seem to have a moderate opinion of Drew even when he gives fantastic performances (I think even in the paso doble Carrie and Len had as much criticism as praise) and that may just accelerate if he gives a performance that isn't up to his best. Meanwhile George skates through because he's "entertainment".

Or even better, his baby bro, Stephen, who I used to think was hot -- even after Bio Dome. (What?)

He's very out of shape now, is a born again Christian and going around crusading against porn. He probably thinks shows like this are blasphemous or sinful.

I'd really like to see some of the people from Mama's Family on the show. Ken Berry used to be a decent dancer when he was younger. Vicki Lawrence is lots of fun. And the guy who played Bubba was so cute and has aged well from the last time I saw him (he was in some Disney TV movie 5-10 years ago).

Catherine Zeta Jones has far too much training as a dancer to work on this show, I think. She was a tap champion in the UK, and starred as Peggy Sawyer in the original London production of "42nd St." By any standards, she's been a "professional dancer."

I would think Kurt Browning (and probably any top figure skater) has also had way too much dance experience. He's trained extensively with the National Ballet of Canada (in fact, I think his wife is a principal there).

I would also vouch for Jason Alexander's dance experience. Not as intense as CZJ or KB, but I think anyone who won a Tony as Lead Actor in a Musical for "Jerome Robbins' Broadway" might be too much of a stretch (He was awesome! I saw him in it years before "Seinfeld" hit the air.)

OHH, I would LOVE Kathy Griffin on DWTS.

Cheryl Ladd was a dancer when she was young as well.

Sean Connery? Please? Pierce Brosnan, Roger Moore? Samuel Jackson (who won't) or Pamela Greer (who won't- but it is a dream list). My husband wants Halle Berry and /or Angelina Jolie (yeah, I know they won't either). Lawrence Fishbourne won't either. But the tux would look fabulous! Or John Forsythe (Charlie's Angels).

So, I'm the only one guessing Drew is pulling in the highest audience vote each week?
