I have to say I don't like what went on with Carrie's little error in Tia and Maxims score tonight. Seemed a bit fishy to me.
When she held up the 8 paddle, did she say 7 or 8?
As a mature woman, I like it that Giselle dances with a boy toy.
But he's a toy boy!

To me that little gaffe just made it painfully obviously that they decide what total score they want to give then divvy up to arrive at the individual numbers.

I just have to say this as well. If Master Pathetic is trying to show the kids in the hood how to be a good person and to represent then he is doing a TERRIBLE job. He is teaching these kids how to be rude, arrogant and nasty.

Just naming the stars, since they're the competitors -
Lisa: 2 votes. I think she's a little underrated; more complex routine than the other rhumbas, I thought they were sexy together, and it was the 2nd best rumba of the night. Also think she's danced early twice now, and it does hurt the voting.
Drew: 2 votes. Nicely done! Very smooth, and only one misstep.
George: no vote, but really lively and imaginative presentation.
Tia: Not as good as her waltz, but certainly graceful. 1 vote, I think.
Tatum: No vote. But if we could cast negative votes, I'd burn the lines up. Hated worse than Master Piddle. Arrogant attitude with her partner, snotty and defensive with the judges. Bleh dancing.
Jerry: 3 votes. Best of the men's performances. Quickness, lightness, style, charisma. Perfect! (and the tails matched her dress)
Stacy: 2 votes. Best of the ladies. She delivered the sexy, good lines, fluid movement, and the only rhumba with fire.
Giselle: From the clips, I expected something much better. I thought she was stiff, jerky, pose-y. They pulled off two eye-poppin' moves, but the dance itself was never a dance. Not getting the judge-love here.
Master P: I respect that he made some effort. Gangsta skippin'! Geez, P, don't worry 'bout losing your cred over the shoes: you skipped! Repeatedly. I understand why the judges want him in dance shoes (used to dance; attire is flexible but you need the right shoes) but I think the badgering and haranguing will just make him more resistant. Appeal to ego, dudes. Still. Burned Ashly, tho -she so nicely giving him the shoes and him dropping, kicking at them like a 6 YEAR OLD, Mr. Macho! Do I sound conflicted? Nah, course not. Maybe?
Sure of my vote choices, I might be slightly off on distribution.

I had a houseful of screaming children, so I missed most of what they were saying. And why did she slap Nick? More importantly, why did the producers decide to show her slapping Nick? I think Tatum came on to Nick, and he said no, so she's all pissy. She probably wanted to be the Kelly/Alec so-hot-they-must-be-doing-it couple this season, and it's just not happening.
He made this, "Oooooooo," noise and she didn't like it. So she slapped him. I find him a little smug, so I enjoyed it.

George really skewered him with his "I'm just doing this for the people back in the hood ... Hollywood, Palm Beach" comment. Guess George is old enough to recognize an egotistical hypocrit when he sees one.
Wow, I forgot that. Yeh, I'll start voting for George if he keeps the snark up and drops the geezer jokes.

Does anyone else have an urge to knock on Master P's head to see if there's anyone home? He looks stunned half the time, like any second he's going to shake the cobwebs out, look around, and stammer, "Huh? Weh? Where am I? Who are you?? WHAT THE HELL AM I WEARING???"
It's a little creepy, frankly.

I'm voting for Tia because I think she is in danger. I really wonder if her size isn't affecting the voting. You could tell from her legs tonight that she is carrying more than baby weight. I think she's brave and sexy, but I still wonder if her weight isn't hurting her with the audience.

Perhaps, but we should leave her sexual preferences out of this.
You're right. I shouldn't have insulted buttfucking.
I think the thing that bugs me most about her isn't her craziness, its that she constantly looks like she's smelling something unpleasant. Much like Moron P kicking the shoes accross the floor, it's a behavior that inspires loathing.
Stacey, Giselle, Drew, Lisa, George, Tia, and Jerry all look like they're having fun and happy to be there; I hope they all stay another week.

I can't believe that I'm using two phones and my internet account to vote on a reality TV show. It's a sign of the Apocalypse!
The majority of my votes tonight went to Giselle and Tia, but I threw a couple to George, Jerry, and Tatum as well. I *adore* Lisa and Louis, but their Rhumba really left me cold tonight. I felt badly for Lisa after reading Louis' blog about what a week she had (both her daughters were sick and she thought she was going to have to put down her 14 year old dog.) I hope that she makes it back next week and that the judges stop being so harsh with her.
So, next week we'll be seeing the guys do the Jive and the girls do the Tango, right? I'm surprised that they're having the girls do two Latin dances in a row.

I was so impressed with Drew tonight. At first I thought that team was Giselle and her partner. Then I realized it was Drew. I actually confused him with one of the professional dancers. And he's having so much fun.
I felt sorry for Tia with Carrie's questionable scoring mistake. I gave her a vote because of that. It really seemed strange to me.
I still don't like George. All he does is talk about his injuries. If he's so sick and old and out of shape, as he constantly complains about, why is he there? He did more standing around than dancing, his partner did most of the dancing. He's just there to mug. I hope this team is the next one gone.
Did anyone else think Tatum looked like Debbie Harry tonight? Early 80's Debbie. I also thought her dress looked like that ass-baring outfit Zulema designed on Project Runway.

Ugh...Master Classless Tacky Pathetic And Needs A Damn Slap is a nightmare. If he stays much longer, Len is going to jump over the table, strip him and staple him into some proper duds. If I was Len, I'd give him zeroes until he was either dressed properly or gone.

What an ass Master Pathetic was for calling Ashly out for snitching. He needs to go far,far away.

Do football fans vote on this show?
This one does. Rice danced on the field and on the floor. The man is good!
I think I'm developing a crush on Jerry Rice.
Take a number!
Master P needs to go home. Savion Glover and the late, great Gregory Hines wore dance shoes. Rice has more street cred, and he wore the damn shoes. If P had street cred, he wouldn't worry about it so much. He's a producer now, for crying out loud. Child is spoiled. Get over yourself. New Orleans has enough troubles without using us as an excuse. And the kids already have the nuns for role models; they don't need you.
Beyond that, even if he had the shoes on, it would not have helped. P is proof not all black people have rhythym.
Tatum and John M- not enough Prozac in the world. Then again, she is Ryan O'Neill's daughter, and HE's really nuts.
It's been a while since Tia was in a movie. I don't think she had movie fans in the house. But the fans were at home voting, and I hope she'll be safe.
Please say they are NOT going to Jive to Barry Manilow next week. NO. That is just all kinds of wrong. Can't they get a real live jazz musician, not a hacky pop guy? I know some people here love him. But there's real swing out there, like the Ellington Orchestra, or any number of jazz musicians (Ramsey Lewis comes to mind). It's like bringing in Britney Spears to sing "Ave Maria". And I don't want to see salsa or tango to Copacabana, either. Come on, Santana's still alive, Buena Vista Social Club's around, and there's a bunch of people out there producing good music for this. What's up with doing latin dances to songs that aren't? It makes it harder to hear the beat.

The music is like burning! Drew and Cheryl were actually quite good but watching them do the Quickstep to 'Neutron Dance' was so bizarre it was distracting.

The music - my guess is that they are trying to show the viewers that "see - ballroom dancing can be easily incorporated into our modern-day music!". Although Neutron Dance is hardly happening stuff. ETA: I don't understand why Tia's having trouble getting support either. I really like her and she's dancing her heart out. I, for one, thinks she moves very gracefully and I enjoy how she portrays the character in each dance. I just wish that she had more confidence in herself. I hated that she judged herself poorly tonight before the judges even commented.
I think she doesn't have the built in fan base of some of the other performers, who are currently in sports, or music, or on TV shows. She also seems nervous sometimes. I really like her, I hope she can stay around. When no one applauded for them at the end, I felt just terrible for her.
I couldn't stand Louis last season, but he seems to have more fun with Lisa than he did with Trista.
Did anyone here vote for Giselle? I know she got high scores but I don't want to take that for granted. I'm very impressed by how supportive her partner Jonathan is towards her. And he has a smoking hot ass.

I felt sorry for Tia with Carrie's questionable scoring mistake. I gave her a vote because of that. It really seemed strange to me.
They had Carrie's correct 7 score posted on the bottom of the screen at the same time she held up the 8 paddle. They must have to report their scores to someone before showing their paddles. I think it was an honest mistake.
I was completely underwhelmed by wrestling girl's dancing. She has a beautiful body and great lines, but they only used about 1/4 of the dance floor. The other couples managed to use most of the floor. I see her moving from pose to pose, but not actually dancing. Master P would be a great partner for her. He could stand there and she could pose around him.

Well, I enjoyed most of the show tonight:
Lisa and Louis - Get the Best Chums title. I like they way they move with each other, though the choreography this week lacked something. Hope they advance.
Drew and Cheryl - Very strong again, but not my favs this week. No worry, since they ain't going nowhere. Look forward to their next performance.
George and Edyta - He seems to be healing well and moving better and they were adorable on and off the dance floor. And Edyta (aka, Panther Girl, of all people) really brought the cute and dorky in that top hat.
Stacey and Tony - I liked them this week, but I definitely saw what others have said about there needing to be less posing than dancing on her part. I hope to see her challenge herself more in that respect. [neutral tone]They seem to be getting along very well with each other[/neutral tone]
Giselle and Jon - Wow, with that physique, G. looks like she could hurt a toyboy. But, while I liked their performance, she still needs to work on that loosening up thing.
Tia and Max - I get as much fun out of watching their practice sessions as their performances. And, though Tia's not able to move quite as easily as the other gals, I still think she and Max worked it. So, that's why they're my second favorites this week. And, oh yeah, I also think there's something fishy about that little point change from Carrie. Then again, I have a feeling "Something's fishy" might just become a recurring thought as the rest of this season moves along.
Jerry and Anna - My favorites this week. They're cute and charismatic. And I'm getting a kick out of the good-natured, battle-of-wills thing they've got going between them. I think he's coming along very nicely as an apprentice twinkletoes.
Tatum and The Martyr: Male Version - I missed the slap. Poor guy. I do think they look lovely when they dance together, but despite that, she's just kind of bland to me...until her weekly, uh oh, interview-possible-meltdown segment.
Master P and The Martyr: Female Version - Her smiles are getting tighter and, he. is. boring. me. JMHO, but:
That's NOT entertainment.

From the top of page 272:
I wondered why I enjoyed that article so much. Then I got to the final line:
Tatum, however, probably has less of a natural fan base than the other two of the bottom three, and she has to be seen as a strong candidate for booting, especially if audiences decide that watching a clumsy guy in the wrong shoes is more entertaining than watching a snooty pill in the right ones.

Rankings and comments:
1). Giselle - I thought if anyone was deserving of a perfect score, it was her. I really thought she was going to be the Rachel Hunter of this year, but the judges aren't thinking she is that great.
2.) Stacy - While I thought it was all sorts of hot, it didn't deserve two tens. She poses too much.
3.) Drew - I didn't see any mistakes and it was fun. According to the judges, that is what they are looking for. They aced it!
4.) Jerry - Thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I didn't look at their footwork, because they were having so much fun together.
5.) George - I agree that it wasn't all that much quickstep, but it looked good and was fun.
6.) Lisa - Just a smidge below George. I don't understand why the judges don't seem to like her very much. I thought it was pretty good. They have awesome chemistry.
BIG GAP
7.) Tia - I really wanted her to do good tonight, but I thought it was horrible.
8.) Tatum - Too many drugs tonight.
9.) P. - At least he moved.
I voted for Lisa, Giselle and George, because I think Drew, Stacy and Jerry are all pretty safe.
And word on whoever said the music sucked tonight.

Yes, the music was fine for the Quickstep, but what happened to the rhumba music? So bad. The direction/editing was bad, too, too many movements not shown (including the awful shot where...no one was in it at all).
I guess the move where the woman puts her hands up and down her body is supposed to be sexy (Yes, Lisa, Tatum, and Giselle...you), but I find it annoying and self-conscious.
Tatum was dancing so much better in rehearsal than onstage. Did she freeze?
George brings so much fun and Edyta seems much happier (and elegant, even) than last season. She's doing a fantastic job of choreographing around George's knee stiffness and ailments.
At least P tried much harder, practiced every day, and looked much better, on a tougher dance. I'd almost rather see Tatum go, although she's obviously working harder. Maybe she can't help it, but I'm already tired of the bitch face.
I'm happy for Louis that he's enjoying dancing with Lisa. I wonder what Trista thinks of the relaxed and non-uptight Louis/Lisa combo--and pole dance?
Stacey's gorgeous, but I didn't think she was the best dancer. I thought Jerry, Drew, or even Giselle did more and deserved higher scores.

I am calling Shenanigans on the scoring for Tia. Carrie *said* 8 and held up 8, so what's up with her changing her score?
Master P can just lurch his way back to New Orleans and get to work rebuilding. Get off my TV. But I feel bad because Ashly is soooo cute and sweet.
I had to giggle at Jerry Rice's song "If my friends could see me now" since I always associate that song as a signature song of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. But he did a surprisingly good job these past two weeks.
Gisele scares the crap outta me. She's so intense. I feel like she would kill me, the judges and her first born if it meant she would win.

They also called it "24" when it was really 23 (8 + 8 + 7), right? But it was "supposed" to be only 22. Yes, fishy, that.
I also noticed that, for a change, most of the lowest scores came first, from Carrie Ann. Len and Bruno went higher than usual this week. My guess is that they've got scores/ranking paired up before the show begins and then divide up the totals among them when they choose 1-9th place as the couples dance.
I also thought they might be colluding a bit with the scoring in order to protect some of the dancers (Tia, George, Giselle maybe) who don't seem to have a big reservoir of fans/calls from too-early elimination.

Right after the couples finish dancing, you can see Carrie and Bruno lean over and write their score on a paper in front of Len. This is the official score sheet and I assume it's given to the producers so they can have the on-screen score as the paddles are held up. That's why they had 7 on the screen even though she said 8 and held up 8. She had probably forgotten by that point what her real score was.

I'm predicting Tia and Tatum for the bottom two on the results show. That means Master Poseur will be jiving or tangoing next week. Yay! OK, poor Ashly, but yay! I was howling with laughter all through his skipstep. The guy looks totally zonked during his interviews. He should give some of what he's taking to Tatum, just to calm her down a little.
I knew I'd be working late, so I called in my nine votes for Jerry and Anna sight unseen, thinking he might need help after the quickstep. But he did OK, although the judges rightly called him on his posture. I'm giving him a break because Anna is quite a bit shorter than he is.

Ugh. Just let me get this out of the way now: FREE ASHLY!
Master Pathetic: Get the hell off my TV and my planet, now. You arrogant, hypocritical jackass--you dare to hold yourself up as a role model when you not only show utter disrespect for the sport and everyone who participates in it, but you deliberately humiliate your partner repeatedly on live television? Props to Len for tearing you a new and larger one again, and to George for indirectly calling you out on your sanctimonious bullcrap. Both Evander and Jerry need to kick your sorry ass all the way back to New Orleans.
Ashly, on behalf of all your fans, I apologize for forcing you to put up with this piece of work one second longer than you should have had to--even though I didn't vote for him online, I was also lazy last week and didn't cast any phone votes for Kenny, or for anyone else last week so that you would have been rid of this loser!
Lisa, darling, let me give you a word of advice: Stop trying so hard. I think the judges are correct that you just seem to be forcing it, and Giselle was right when she says that if it looks as though you're working, you're not doing it right. You've got the potential; just relax and go with the flow. Oh, by the way, Giselle--the suxy is definitely there in the genes--just keep working on channeling your inner Rosarita, and by the end, you may well be the one to beat!
George: Great job. I loved that you went for the Fred/Ginger touch--it just seemed so in character with your overall persona. However, I'm afraid that your injuries and the vicissitudes of age are, as you are keenly aware, hampering you to the point that I don't see you lasting much longer, despite your attitude and your love of the sport and the competition. The Jive, the Samba, and the Viennese Waltz will unfortunately prove to be your Waterloo, but I do hope that we get to see you do the Tango and either the Paso Doble or the Foxtrot--I have a feeling that you'd really be in your element in those dances.
Drew: Fantastic, my man! You definitely get my vote again as the best of the male celebs, although Jerry did give you something of a run for your money. It's really going to be hard to decide between the two of you as the field gets narrower.
I just wish that everyone (and this especially applies to the ladies) had had some decent music to dance to this week, although I didn't have nearly as much of a quarrel with the Quickstep choices as I did with the Rumba choices--"Top Hat" is, after all, a classic Quickstep, and "Neutron Song," while not what I would have chosen, is still way better than last year's "You're the One That I Want," and "If They Could See Me Now" and "Zoot Suit Riot" are also pretty good choices if done right. As for the Rumbas, all I can say is that Latin music definitely needs to be, you know, Latin. Anything else, to paraphrase Len's analogy, is like wearing tap shoes to play basketball--it just doesn't work, plus, like Master Pathetic's choice of footwear, it shows utter contempt for the sport and the dancers. So, my final note is to whoever chooses the gadawful music: Hop over to the Dutch DWTS website, listen to their superior (and generally far more appropriate) music choices, and go and do likewise!

This confuses me everytime as well, but for the record, Tango is a Ballroom Dance and Jive is in the Latin half.
Isn't it because of the hips and the handhold? In tango (and this is true of Argentine as well as ballroom), you don't move the hips and you dance in closed position. In jive, you have loose hips (you don't really move them like in samba/rumba/cha cha, but they're much looser than in waltz/fox trot/quickstep) and you can dance in open position.

That's a correct explanation of the difference between Smooth/Standard and Latin,
Zuleikha, but the explanation of why the Tango is not considered a Latin dance despite its having originated in Argentina is even simpler than that--and it's rooted in a bit of ballroom history.
The fact is that the Tango was first introduced to ballrooms outside of Argentina around 1920 or so. At that time, only the Foxtrot, the Waltz, the Viennese Waltz, the Quickstep, and the Peabody (the American cousin of the Quickstep) were recognized as ballroom dances--what we now refer to as the Latin dances were still unknown outside of their countries of origin. The Rumba, the Bolero, the Cha-Cha, the Paso Doble, and the Jive weren't introduced until the 1930s, and the Samba, the Mambo, and the Merengue weren't introduced until the 1950s. By that time, the Tango had already been firmly established as a Standard/Smooth dance, and there was no reason to reclassify it as a Latin dance, since it really has nothing in common with any of them, while it has everything in common with the Standard/Smooth dances, particularly the Foxtrot, Quickstep, and the Peabody.
Now, to get back on topic, I reiterate what I said earlier about the inappropriate nature of the music selections. Not only do they violate the spirit of the dances, but they also violate their cultural history as I just outlined it. Therefore, whoever picks out the music for the couples really needs to do his or her historical research and pick out songs that are historically and culturally more suitable--as I said earlier, any other picks are the musical equivalent of Master Pathetic's wardrobe choices!

Woo-hey! So, I'm back from the show and it was so much fun! I was quite surprised since I expected a bigger place. But that studio is small! And about 98% of the audience dressed up very nicely. Their warm-up guy was kinda funny, too. He came on before the show began and in between commercial breaks. The audience was instructed to cheer like no other almost every. single. second! My hands hurt from all the clapping. The boo-ing was also encouraged, especially during the judges' comments. Carrie Anne, Len, and Bruno were all introduced to the audience about ten minutes before show time. Carrie Anne is quite pretty. The make-up guy touched her up about twice during commercials. Len seems much more approachable in person than Bruno. Carrie Anne's Mom came in late (during Drew's performance) and there were no more seats left. So, she and a friend stood at the railings near where we were seated. One of the ushers came over to Carrie Anne and told her during Tia's scoring. I think, maybe, that's why she got distracted and made a mistake with the scoring paddles. Carrie Anne's Mom ended up having to stand all throughout.
Tom Bergeron kept getting his make-up touched up. His make-up artist sat on one of the chairs near the judges. I thought that was funny. And, though we saw her just a few times since she was backstage, I thought Samantha was beautiful.
Lisa and Louis -They looked good together. They seem like they really developed a friendship. Louis was laughing at himself during the rehearsal package. Harry Hamlin was more subdued tonight though. No loud boo-ing from him.
Drew and Cheryl -Drew is hot. He really is. But he looked kinda nervous when they were setting up. He's a crowd favorite, for sure. Everytime his name was mentioned, people screamed. Or, at least, a certain part of the audience. He had a block of teenage girl fans in the center audience.
Tia and Maksim -Tia Carrere is beautiful in person. And she looks much thinner than on tv! Maksim is ruggedly handsome. Reminded me of Alec a little.
George and Edyta -George is funny! He, too, is a crowd favorite. And Edyta seems to genuinely like him. She hugged him a lot after Tom got through with them.
Tatum and Nick -I wasn't paying much attention to Tatum. I just don't like her. She did look much thinner than on tv, too, though. I was looking more at Nick. The man is yummy. :)
Jerry and Anna -Jerry is also one of the crowd favorites. The audience was chanting his name quite loudly. But Anna is so adorable. She and Jonathan were whispering when all of them lined up at the end of the show. Jerry was kinda laughing at them. Their quickstep was fun.
Stacy and Tony -Stacy is gorgeous! Like, seriously. And her legs go on f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Their dance got the loudest cheer and was really beautiful to watch. And Tony has such a finely-shaped ass. He was laughing at what Stacy said during the end of the rehearsal package and barely had time to look "serious" for the performance. I think they're my favorites now.
P and Ashly -Ashly is really, really adorable! I love her! She was so bubbly when they were showing the rehearsal package. She was dancing a bit, jumping side-to-side and swinging P's hand. And I feel so incredibly bad for her. Because P is an arrogant ass. When the camera cut to Giselle and Jonathan backstage, P dropped Ashly's hand and walked quickly away from her. He left Ashly standing near Tom, surprised and looking like she was going to cry any moment. It took her a moment to realize that her asstastic partner wasn't going to be escorting, or at least walking beside, her to go backstage. The poor girl had to scramble after the big lug. Ungentlemanly behavior. And disrespectful to Ashly who has done all she can to help him out. Poor, poor girl. And, after the show was over, everyone else was talking amongst themselves. Ashly seemed to be trying to talk with P and Giselle about something. She was smiling while P looked at her like she had three heads. Maksim came over and said something to P, then hugged Ashly a little. Ashly looked like she wanted to cry, why I don't know. She then went to some people (two cute guys, one of which may be her boyfriend?) in the audience and talked with/hugged them. Though I will miss her terribly, I hope P gets eliminated tomorrow. For Ashly's sake.
Giselle and Jonathan -I honestly wasn't paying much attention to Giselle. I was so distracted by Jonathan and his hotness! Heh. I did notice that Giselle looked ripped. Her legs were all muscle... Zero percent body fat! Hee. But Jonathan is so handsome and lean. I think I developed a crush on him. So very hot. He seems to like teasing Anna. He was laughing with Jerry and Anna was sorta poking him on the chest.
There we go. My experience watching DwtS live! Woo. It was so fun that I wish my sister got her friend to get us tickets last year, too. I can just imagine what was going on with the suxy! when the camera wasn't on them. ;) Still, quite enjoyable!

I actually confused [Drew] with one of the professional dancers.
Several years with 98 Degrees. Over a year on Rent. Married to a dancer/choreographer. Now why would you confuse him with a "professional" dancer?
The more I learn about him, the more I want him dropped (after P, of course). Not gonna happen. I'm gonna end up madder than anyone was last season!

I'm still not sure if any of this is as rigorous as the constant routines the professional ballroom dancers go through, especially when 98 Degrees probably had backup dancers who did most of the major footwork. If he's been out of practice for a few years, then the heavy rehearsing for intricate dances (to be performed in front of millions of viewers) is daunting.
I don't know that much about Drew, but most of the "celebrity" men this season either mug and play caricatures instead of doing the dancing (like Kenny, or George) or they just clearly don't give a shit (P). Jerry and Drew are the only 2 of these men who really impress, IMHO. And they both have such great attitudes.
Thanks for the review, SleepDeprived. I'm sorry to hear P was even worse offcamera. And good for Harry for not doing all that "BOO"...that gets so tiresome. Lisa gave an OK performance and she got an average/above-average scores (6, 7, 7), yet the fans still booed the judges. I keep waiting for them to boo 10 scores and then the judges have to pull out a "TEN TIMES INFINITY" paddle.

That's what got my husband last week. I chalked it up to maybe Drew's role not needing to dance as much as other roles. Yeah, weak. I didn't know about him being married to a dancer, so that will possibly make Mr. Actionmage much grumpier, even tho' he likes and appreciates Drew and Cheryl's dances.
Tegan Jovanka has a point, but if the "celebs" aren't supposed to be "professional dancers", then yeah, I'll sit in the disgruntled viewer box with you,
jhl.
Sleep Deprived, add my thanks for the behind-the-scenes report! Lucky you! I really hope that P. is voted off tonight, but Mr. Actionmage surmises either Tatum or Lisa will go due to whomever voted for P. last week.
I liked many of the dances tonight, but was surprised at the lack of oomph from Lisa and Louis, a couple I really like, and Tatum and Nick, a couple I hoped would showcase Nick's choreography more this week. On reflection, I was more surprised about her slap, which wasn't a backhand at least. He's gotta have kids or a very interesting life in order to keep it together as coolly as he did. Lisa and Louis? I'd pay to watch them in a pro-am! They are so fun! I thought she deserved higher marks, but that the judges weren't ripping her or telling her something she didn't understand.
That goes to Nick! He looked surprised and a bit insulted as he mouthed "spongey?!" He was irked at Len, at least. I hope Tatum understand she may be getting judged, but it's not her solely. Nick's a pro and his teaching and choreography are on the line too (as it is with the other pros.) Can we get a Nick/Ashley duo going just for fun?
Tia and Giselle were quite hot tonight! I found my girlcrush with Tia and wondered if Giselle kept those legs toned solely by trainer or if reporting helps keep one's legs that good?
Jerry Rice? Flove! I'll be in the corner over here loving Anna's 20's dress! Don't care, cuz it was cool and fun.
Drew and George were very fun and watchable! Edyta is thanking the gods that she got George, who loves to move and does it well despite a thousand injuries! Cheryl looked lovely in her gown tonight, as did Edyta.
Stacy and Tony"Hey! It's Stacy's leg!" did less posing, had a nice song (love Nellie Furtado!), and I felt it a bit more than L&L's. S&T's was more sexy while L&L was fun and playful. Not a knock on either, jmo.
I used most of my votes for Tia, then Stacy, and a few for Jerry.

I love Tom. He should host every show.
That's what got my husband last week. I chalked it up to maybe Drew's role not needing to dance as much as other roles.
Have you seen Rent? There's almost no dancing in it. Moving and swaying and widely gesticulating while singing, yes. Dancing, no.
I keep waiting for them to boo 10 scores and then the judges have to pull out a "TEN TIMES INFINITY" paddle.
I would pay to see this. It would be way more entertaining than this episode was.
Seriously, am I the only one who had to fast forward out of sheer boredom? I think I may have actually shouted at my TV during every rumba, "
Why aren't they dancing? Stop standing around!!!! Dear lord, was that supposed to be a hip swivel of some sort?" *watches through fingers* Stacy had gorgeous form and extension, so I liked her despite the incessant big grin that was anything but passionate. Giselle and Lisa got into the passionate element, I liked that aspect. I found it ironic that the two actresses seemed to act out the rumba the least.
Tia, what happened? That was like the least sexy dance with no dancing in the history of ever, and Tia is famous precisely for being sexy. Major disappointment on my end.
And it's official. I find the quickstep monumentally boring to watch. I've given it two shows now. I can appreciate the technical difficulty, but it triggers low ratings on my entertaining-to-watch-amateurs-dancing-it barometer.
All in all, this makes me want SYTYCD back. *sigh*

Now, I admit I wasn't a 98 Degree fan, but since I was a NSYNC fan at the time, I think I have a decent grasp of the whole pop scene of that time. 98 Degrees was never a dancing boy band, I know they tried to spice things up in their last album, but I don't think they did the heavy dancing like NSYNC or BSB. At least, nothing that would give him an unfair advantage over the majority of the other contestants.
