I would kill for the opportunity to be stranded with Logan. However, Wallace is such a sweetheart, he would be great to hang with.

This is in danger of being a
"bad list" thread, which is prohibited by the FAQ. Talk about why you pcik the character you picked, or this thread is gone.

I should say that I think when you're stranded on an island (and I have Tom Hanks in my head), your goals are to survive and then to escape. So this list isn't the same as the list you'd get if you asked "if you had to be trapped in an elevator...." Heh.
I can't pick just one, but I'll give reasons for my choices, in descending order:
Keith would be reassuring and entertaining. Wouldn't it be nice to be stranded on an island with a dad-like figure to take care of you?
Veronica is the superhero of this show. A lot of her resourcefulness requires using other people, but I think she would probably also kick ass on an island.
Wallace is easy-going but has also demonstrated willingness to work hard toward an objective, i.e. getting off the island.
Icetwin is also resourceful. And his skanky girlfriend wouldn't be around, because, you know, you're stranded with only *one* character.
Duncan, if he has a supply of anti-psychotics but not whatever drugs keep him from smiling, because if I couldn't have any of the helpful people around, I'd like to have a reason to get up in the morning. :)

I would love to say Logan, because he's snarky and cute, and I'd love spending time with him. However, realistically, for survival and trying to get off of the island, I'd want either Veronica or Keith. They are extremely resourceful and intelligent, and could think of things to keep us alive that would probably never cross my mind.

I would have to say Lilly, because I identify a lot with Veronica and I think Lilly would have a similar effect on me as she did/does on Veronica (reassuring, fun, whatever). But, judging what we know of Lilly, I'd definitely be the girl doing all the hunting and other survival stuff. (I choppeth the wood, Lilly telleth the campfire stories.)

Weevil. I'd make him write me poetry. Although, if it was a deserted island, I'd need Veronica and her survival tactics.
Actually, I'm not prepared to go with anyone until I found out for sure who the murderer is.

Actually, I'm not prepared to go with anyone until I found out for sure who the murderer is.
Good point. On that criterion, I can think of 3 fairly safe choices - Veronica, Keith, and Lilly. Choosing to be stranded with Lilly might not work out so well considering she's currently dead, so I guess that puts me in the Veronica-or-Keith camp.

Well, if you need food and you're not adverse to cannibalism, Lilly might be a good choice.

Obviously, Veronica. She'd probably be able to figure out why we ended up getting stranded and how to get off the island.
Or possibly Lynn. You could probably use her lips as a raft.

I'm male and heterosexual, so Veronica kind of has to be it, no? Although I suppose the alive version of Lilly would be an interesting choice too. Really, if you were stuck forever, you'd want a member of the proper sex and orientation for your preferences I'd assume. Although if you knew that even being alone forever with this person you wouldn't get any, perhaps the polar opposite might be best.
If the idea was to get OFF the island, you'd probably want to go for some combination of strength and cleverness. You might want a canny guy like Logan, perhaps, for that combo. Veronica would be smarter, as would Keith, but Logan would be stronger. Duncan would be even stronger yet, but he's got too many issues, and despite his reported good grades just doesn't seem all that... clever.
If the island was like you know... the LOST island, perhaps I'd want a red shirt to die in my place. Officer Fuckface would be the logical choice.

Stuck on a deserted island? I would have to pick Rebecca James. Sure she's a show killer but maybe her powers can work on the various dangerous or not so dangerous animals (food source) and there would be plenty to eat. If she didn't have any killing powers then she can "be feeding" the dangerous animals while I run away.

Definitely Veronica. She's resourceful, and I'm sure she'd have lots of good ideas for both surviving on the island and trying to get the hell off the island. I suppose Keith would probably be the same way, but I think I would get along much better with Veronica, if we were stuck on the island forever. (But then again Weevil would be way more fun to be stuck with forever...)

I don't know Benito I see Logan as the type of person that would end up like Shannon. I.E. He wouldn't do anything because he thinks he will be saved in no time. But then again, he might just CRACK under the pressure and start crying like a little girl.
Although Warden makes a good point with Rebecca...

I'd pick Duncan, because he's big and strong. Those are two qualities definitely needed on a deserted island. Also despite his lack of oomph sometimes, he does have shining moments where he steps up. In LOST terms, he's sort of the Jack, the reluctant hero.
Plus he's cute. Logan is cute too, but we might just have a lot of back and forth bantering and end up starving.

When I read the thread title my first choices were Weevil and Logan for the eyecandy thing. As I have no noticable survival skills, however, I decided to change this to...Keith.
And I'm only going with Keith if he gets me off the island within like 2 weeks to a month. If it's a forever thing I'd rather starve with Logan (at least I'd have something pretty to stare at as I wasted away).
janedoe4
Jan 28, 2005 @ 6:16 pm
If there's absolutely no prospect of getting off the island no matter who I'm with, then I might widen my pool of choices a bit. If I'm going to die on the island anyway (or, alternatively, will literally be there forever and thus never die), it matters somewhat less to me if the person I pick is potentially the murderer. I'd still exclude characters I strongly suspect (e.g. Duncan's parents), mostly because I wouldn't want to spend any length of time in their presence anyway, but I'd be more willing to take my chances with Duncan or Logan or some of the others.
Deputy Leo seems like a fairly safe choice from the not-likely-very-dangerous point of view and appears have a reasonable amount of big-and-strong going on for the pragmatic stuff. But, OTOH, he's not one of the more clever characters and I might not be the best candidate to run an island, even if there are only two of us on it.
Leevee
Jan 28, 2005 @ 6:26 pm
I think I'd go with Leo, since he seems fairly strong, is musical, and is definately not hard on the eyes. Sure, he's not that bright, but I'd like to think I'm smart enough for it not to matter how smart he is or isn't.

Mac. First, she's resourceful. Maybe not so much as Veronica or Keith, but she's certainly creative and intelligent. Plus, being a computer geek we'd have plenty to talk about, someone like Veronica I'm not sure I'd know how to talk to. And as a bonus, yeah she's cute.
Or then there's Duncan. Can you really see his parents letting him stay stranded on an island? They'd pay a fortune to have him found and rescued ASAP and that would therefore mean I'd get rescued too.

My choice would tend to depend on the island situation. If it's a conventional deserted island where you just have to forage for a bit while you're building your raft to get back to civilization, I'd go with pre-death Lilly. I can handle the survival aspect without too much trouble (unlike the average contestant on Survivor I've actually been camping before, and successfully made fire without matches, flint and steel, or a magnifying glass), and she seems like she'd be pretty entertaining company, in addition to looking fetching in a coconut-half bikini and grass skirt.
If, on the other hand, it's some metaphysical allegory for purgatory or whatever J.J. Abrams is trying to do with Lost, I'd probably want to be stuck with either Keith or Veronica... maybe Mac. Someone smarter than me, and those are the characters I'm not ashamed to admit being dumber than. I mean, come on... I just ended a sentence with a preposition.
And finally if there were cannibals ( and yes, I realize that's a remote possibility - so is me getting stuck on a desert island), definitely either Keith or Backup, the badasses of the series. It's reassuring to have someone you trust to watch your back.

The shallow part of me, would love to be the only person with Logan on an island.
But if I wanted to get off, and unless this was an deserted island with DSL, good food and a well furbished beach house, I think I would I'd chose Veronica.
She seems that she would be able to handle herself and probably figure out a way for us both to get off the island, plus no fear that she is the killer.

For intensely shallow purposes, I'd go with Weevil. Sure he's like, 4'11" but look at the eyes...the muscles...the tattoos...the lips....
Ahem. Excuse me.
However, if I actually wanted to you know, escape, I'd definitely go with Veronica. She's crafty, she's clever, she can hold her own, and she cares enough about people to help them out. Yes, I know she helps them because she gets paid to but you know she also likes being the hero. She's a marshmallow. (tm Wallace)
Or possibly Lynn. You could probably use her lips as a raft.
Yeah it's the easy joke, but it'll NEVER get old. :D

Logan...because he's cute and people say he's cool in real life, and yes, Keith and Veronica are resourceful when it comes to detective work, but how in touch are they with nature? I mean, they've lived in L.A. all their lives (or the same area) so it's not like the wilderness family.

When I read that, I went, "Who? Oh...OH! EW!" That sounds like a choice in a "Death is Not an Option" poll.
If it was a barren island with no food and no supplies, I would probably want to be stranded with Duncan. He seems like a fairly big guy, and if worse came to worse, I could eat him. Hey, if it's between starving and cannibalism, I'll take cannibalism everytime.
If it was a tropical island with plants, animals, and water, I'd have to go with Veronica. As others have said, she's smart and resourceful and yes, she is also attractive, which never hurts. At least our conversations wouldn't be boring.

For me it's Veronica, period. Her combination of resourcefulness and the things that appeal to my shallower side works whatever kind of island is involved. Especially if I somehow get to take my CD collection and a working player along with me and can take a shot at getting her hooked on Beethoven, Brahms, etc.

I'd hafta go with Veronica. She is extremely resourceful, and has great deductive-reasoning abilities. She'd be very handy to have on the island, as far as survival is concerned. And it doesn't hurt that she's smokin' hot, either. Plus, she's intelligent. No matter how hot someone is, you can't forget that they will be your only source for conversation. And who want's to be stuck on an island with an insufferable bore, or a complete idiot?

I care about him too much to put his life in jeopardy.
Since Feisty officially outed me as a Wallace stan, I feel free to obsess away.

I would probably go with Veronica because she's smart, funny, and very intelligent. I would probably enjoy being with her, besides the whole stranded on a desert isle thing.
Of course, if we were going to be on that island forever I would have to choose one of the guys. Logan would probably piss me off, so either Weevil or Duncan. It would have to be a guy because then on those long, lonely nights we could....comfort each other. Yes, that's it.
