It's really weird because I was in a rut all day and now I can't stop smiling. I kept saying all I need is an update of Equilateral or Entropy to brighten my day... but both in the same night just blows my mind. I think I'm going to savor them both by reading tomorrow when I'm fully awake and eating my favorite meal, then I'll have loads of feedback to give.

I haven't been this excited since discovering naked!logan.

This was totally awesome. He was like, The First Beavil, or something (lame attempt at humor, I know. Sorry.)

I waited all day for this yesterday....then thought it wouldn't happen after the season finale. So Yay!

I really liked this, Au Natural, which takes in Doctor Who (Ten/Rose), Life on Mars (Sam/Annie) and VM (LoVe).

Soooo make your friends, family, and pets watch it. i know I will.

And I love all of "Ghost World." I love that Dick, Mac, Veronica and Logan now live with certain phrases and terms that are verboten. I also love seeing them in post-high school mode and having them still be totally familiar. I love being inside Dick's and Mac's heads and having Logan and Veronica in the background, supportive and stable.

So, I've finally written something non-L/V. It's my offering of post-2.22 Dick POV in a little ficlet.

Alright, I've searched everywhere and for an extremely long time for a fic that I read a long time ago (and by long time, I mean sometime in 2005) and I can't.

I can't even remember the name, all I know is that it is a Logan/Veronica/Lamb piece, does anybody remember or know what it's called so that I can have something to go on?

Hmmm. The only fic I can think of that fits that description is by mutinousmuse. But you might want to ask her about it, 'cause it's not something she wants advertised as far as I know.

Wow, all the Dick/Mac and Dick/V/L/Mac ensemble fic are excellent. Ghost World, especially. Can I ask for more, pretty please with a Veronica on top?

Speaking of next chapters . . . tiana is seriously trying my patience with her failure to provide a new HTC chapter. I need my crack!

In the meantime, I've been reading some of the selections from sadiekate's rec list, and while so many of them are excellent, this one, in particular, is brilliant. It's called "Broken Toys," and it is AU of the first season and beyond if Lilly hadn't died. It is not at all the usual AU take on that scenario, and it is just amazing.

Hmm...I tried to post this before, but it seems to have gotten lost. Anyway, someone here wrote that they'd like an AU fic where Keith actually died, and it got me thinking...so, I wrote a longish one-shot. I'd love to know what people think!

Basket Case

YuppieLawyer, Broekn Toys is probably my favorite fic ever. I normally don't like reading stories where Lilly is that much of a manipulative slut, but it's still so heartbreaking when she dies.

utsusemia, it was such a sad story! I loved it though, but I needed so fluff afterwards.

I'm usually pretty fanfic-averse, but, given that RT initially envisioned VM as a novel, I always thought it would lend itself really well to fanfic. I just read the story yuppielawyer recommended and absolutely loved it.
Can anyone take pity on my total fanfic ignorance and maybe recommend one that's focused on Veronica's funny, sweet relationship with her dad? And, no, I'm not into stories that make their dynamic incestual! I also would love some Logan fanfics that DON'T involve his relationship with veronica, since I far prefer both characters when they're not a couple. Thanks in advance!

Holy shit. I've read a lot of good fanfic, but Broken Toys just may take the cake.

Are there any other AU Lilly lives stories of that nature? I'd love to read them.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed Broken Toys so much. That is definitely one of the best VM fics--if not the best--I've ever read. I also recommend the author's Virtual Season Two series. They were written between S1 and S2 and are like actual episode scripts, complete with MoTWs. They are awesome. The one caveat is that the series goes eight episodes, and then stops unfinished, but it still takes you to a great place in the story. I recommend reading them anyway because they are a special treat.

YuppieLawyer, you're not kidding. about how good tht is. And I've only read the first episode.

Oh, I was so heartbroken last summer when theohara stopped updating her S2! Seriously, they are so amazing, and I was so mad that they didn't use her idea for the beginning of the second season. I love her Veronica. Also her Weevil.

I've now read up through episode 6, and just loving this.

I liked the slow progression that lead to Veronica and Duncan getting back together for the prom episode.

Also, an intereting little twist with that too.

She really has the characterizations down so well. And on top of that, she's plotted out great MoTWs and longer mystery arcs. Several times as I was reading, I thought, "If RT ever read these, he would have offered this woman a job!"

YuppieLawyer, I had the exact same thoughts reading these! I think they're the single most impressive thing I've read in the fandom so far (although I have probably read only a slight fraction of what's out there). And the Logan/Keith interaction in episode seven actually gave me chills. SO impressive. I wish she had kept going with them...

I know I was warned about this virtual series having a non ending, but: GAAH! Did she have to end there?!

What did Duncan find in the journal?!

I wanna know!

theohara has commented that she is working on updates, and posted a few brief excerpts (she writes for a number of different fandoms) but has requested that people not hound her for updates. So, you know, tentative yay. Definitely have a look at Rich Dirt, her other VM one-shot.

I love theohara's work. She is so good. I love the Virtual season 2, even though it is unfinished, and I love Rich Dirt and Broken Toys.

You know what would be awesome? If the next one she does is listed as Season 3 episode 1.

Well, I think it'd be awesome, at any rate.

Also, if we're doing classics (if there can be classics in a show that is only two seasons old, and I feel that there can be) then I am obligated to rec just about everything sinaddict, aka juliette has written (seriously, she's recced on just about everyone's lists). My personal favorites are:

If you like those, this is a full listing of her writing. I do recommend that you read the warnings for her stuff, it tends to be R to NC-17, and is very dark. Also really freaking awesome, but if you're not into dark/fucked up, I would steer clear.

I thought Logan was actually talking about Lilly. Plus that seems like the Spenser's Gifts thing that Lilly would buy.

I agree, YuppieLawyer. Given her plotline (I forgot which "episode") where Keith finds and takes Aaron's gun, and the ensuing crime scene photos Logan looks at, I think it's more embittered Logan about his father and mother.

Oh, wow. I forgot all about that "little" detail.

tiana is definitely still plugging away at it. She's been busy lately with finishing up grad school, but I know updating the fic is near the top of her to-do list. (She and I are siamese twins joined at the head, so I know things like this.)

How can she think that finishing up grad school is more important than giving me a new chapter? Heh. Well, I'm glad to hear she hasn't forgotten about me, er, it. I think I'm craving it more because I know it'll be months before we get any new episodes.

Hi YuppieLawyer! Thanks for all the lovely inquiries on HtC. The good news is that I am now DONE with grad school (whoo!) but the bad news is that I don't have a new chapter finished for HtC yet. Soon, I swear. :) I've also got, oh...eight or so other VM fics in the hopper, so it could be a bumper crop this summer!

I just finished The Liberation and I am still laughing hysterically! While it's not exactly VM related, it does involve Kristen and Jason. Has anyone else read this? I thought I read a post from someone else who was reading it but maybe I was hallucinating because I can't seem to find it now.
