I'm looking for a fanfic written a while ago - shortly after the end of S1 - where the writer gets sent to fanfic school, as led by the cast of VM. Anyone know where this might be, or who wrote it?

I read a story what seems like years ago and it popped in my head suddenly, only I didn't bookmark fics back then so I have no idea where to find it and of course I don't remember the title. I do however remember that Logan left town and Veronica still had feelings for him and hoped he would come back but of course he never did. She got engaged to Dullnut and then married him only to run into a very dirty Logan on her honeymoon while Donut did business. She ended up sleeping with him and telling him she would leave Duncan and they planned to be together so Logan came back to Neptune but Veronica never called and blew him off when he tried to contact her. So he went to a banquet where she and the Donut Hole were and found out she was pregnant and planned to stay with Duncan but of course she can't resist Logan and they end up in a bathroom stall about to have sex but then Veronica has a miscarriage never knowing who the baby's father was, but of course she and Logan are together in the end.

If anyone can give me a link to the story that would be much appreciated. Oh and while I'm here I may as well rec a few of my all time favourite fics:

Equilateral - No recent update but you should definately go back and re-read the story until new updates come bacause it's just fantastic. IMHO it's hands down the best fic out there!

Hollow World - Extremely dark fic and wonderfully written.

La Douleur Exquise! - This story has major foreshadowing and builds up tension but at the same time its really fun to read and it keeps you coming back for more. It's just so good you have to read and find out for yourself.

When The Cuddling Isn't The Best Part - Smutt heaven and realistically gets into the minds of Logan and Veronica and the way they operate.

Looks Like An Evil Doer - Unique plot and beautiful interaction between Weevil and Logan, throw a little Veronica in the mix and the tension between the characters is amazing.

Holding The Curve - In desperate need of an update but it's so good if you haven't read it you should and if you have then read it again!

Alien Shore - It's pretty out there but it works somehow and I found myself just loving it. I haven't seen an update in a while but I hope we get one soon.

Cracking The Shell - Logan. Veronica. UST. I'm pretty sure that's all that needs to be said about this but it doesn't hurt that this story has a really good plot as well.

I'm actually almost done with the last chapter of Cracking the Shell...I started working on it again last night and I plan to finish it tonight unless I get sucked into reading too much angst and people start killing off Keith, Veronica and Logan and I get depressed. LOL

This is a little belated, but MAN, sadie kate, Scattered Scars like Constellations absolutely rocked. It was so, so hot, and I love the idea of Veronica and Weevil's tattoo club. Because they totally need to have one. And the L/V coital-banter? Excellent. I especially like the contrast with the V/W sex, because it was so different, and yet so right. But so good. And I'm going to turn into a total fangirl if I try to explain anymore why it rocked, but it did.

So here's the fic suggestion that came to mind while posting in the Mac thread. Alternate reality: Mac is never switched at birth and is raised by Madison's parents. Not sure what she is like or what happens to her, but she is definitely friends with Lilly. That much I'm sure of.

Self-pimpage at its worst.

After last night's episode, I felt compelled to write fic with Hannah. Don't ask why; I blame it on the fact that she looks and acts so much like one of my best friends. The result is this: A Time to Dance . Since it's my first ficlet with dialogue (gasp, there's not a ton, but the fic is reasonably short), I would really appreciate concrit of any sort. I'll shut up before shameless begging ensues.

Great story idea, Spadada. I hope someone ends up writing it.

As for the Mac idea, there was a piece (Party Girls) written for 5thingthat that explored that possibility in one of the sections. The others don't have much to do with that and the one section isn't that long, but I thought it was an interesting exploration into that possibility.

The writer really held on to the reveal as long as she possible could, which I imagine would make it that much better if you didn't know which Madison you were reading about. To avoid confusion, I am now calling that character "Mac as Madison" (or "MadMac" for short). I still want a full length fic though. I've never written one. Shit. Might this be my first?

If I am to attempt it, I will need help with plot. I have the main character and I know her friendship with Lilly is a major part of the story, but what happens to them? I am open to any and all suggestions :)

I would love to see MadMac (hee!) helping out Lilly with a bunch of nefarious schemes. She could probably expose a lot of bad things, by way of her technology skills, in the 09er culture if she was a part of it.

I want to say that I totally respect skk670 because I absolutely loved the Extended Episode Scripts and When the Cuddling Isn't the Best Part but it unsettles me to read Undercover Angel, it's like everytime I see an update this sense of dread washes over me. The plot is unarguably brilliant and it makes you question everything you thought you knew about the Veronica Mars universe, but if I'm being honest here, I'm just not ready for that. I pretty much live by the 'don't rock my boat' philosophy and this fic is just blowing my mind. I like my Dick simple minded, I like my Beaver somewhat awkward and shy, I need to beleive Logan is very much the sex God he claims to be and that his relationship with Veronica during the summer was not a lie. I do think it's a brilliant fic and those of you who haven't read it definately should. It's just that for me it leaves a very unsettling feeling in my gut and maybe its meant to, hell that says alot about the level of writing that it affects me as much as it does but I'm worried about my health because the anxiety I feel while reading can't be good, of course I'm not going to stop reading it, but what can I say except we always want what's bad for us.

TruMyth, Burning at Both Ends was just wonderful, I think the plot is really interesting and you did a great job with it. I totally second SotallyTober's recommendation that everyone should go read it.

When I went on my little reccing tirade a few pages back I forgot to mention a series written by dark_roast the first in the series was Chopped Liver, followed by Thursday Next, and the most recent update Sticks and Stones! It's an amazing story with an extremely uncharacteristic pairing that somehow just works. If you haven't read it you don't know what you're missing because it will seriously rock your world. This fic is beyond awesome!

Queen Haq - so happy to hear we're getting an update soon. I've been missing Equilateral so bad that I went back and reread it again last night. I actually mentioned this fic in my feedback for Sticks and Stones and saw that dark_roast went and read it. It's slightly disturbing that I just got a flash of world domination via Equilateral a la 'today dark_roast, tomorrow the world... Muahahahaha!'

I just got into this show in the past two weeks, when I finally got around to renting season one and downloaded all the episodes of this season. (What can I say? I've got an addictive personality.) violentsocks, Fic From Mars is a LiveJournal community that requires members to pass an application process before posting. VM Fic is a kind of readers journal in which similar stories of quality are recommened by a pannel of moderators. Pirate Pride Awards is a fic award site that has completed one round of awards and is onto the second. You could check out the winners of Round One or take a look at their nomination list for Round Two.
And... though its purpose isn't quality fic per se, if you like the Logan/Veronica relationship and smutty fic, you might want to check out Loveathons.

My advice it to pick a location, find a story or two with characters you are interested in, and a rating that fits your mood. If you like that fic, most authors who post on LiveJournal will have the rest of their fic archived in their memories so you can find similar stories there.

Remember, LiveJournal makes it easy to comment anonymously if you do not have an account and fic authors love hearing that someone has read their story. It's a special thrill to hear from a story you wrote a long time ago. So do try to comment if you find something that you particularly enjoy.

Thanks for hitting my recs list, TrueMyth. I haven't had the time to sort through my memories and add to it in almost ... 6 months now, maybe? But, at the same time, that means that it's a good list for people who haven't gotten totally caught up with S2 yet. Lots of good S1 fics on there - with a few early S2 gems as well. There's just over 200 fics listed there (205, I believe, at last count), and I have them grouped by main characters of the story. I'm glad that you found it to be helpful, Grace. :)

Also, violentsocks, if there's a particular ship or group of characters that you enjoy that is *not* L/V, there is probably an LJ community out there that caters to that pairing or to a group of students that include said individual(s). If you want to post here with such details, I'm sure one of us will be able to help you out.

Does anyone know of any Troy/Veronica fics, or even a Troy fic? I've checked all those lists and the LJ fic communities, but I don't think I've seen any. Despite the fact that Troy did our girl wrong, I still have a bit of a crush on him and would like to read some fics about him.

I tend to prefer Logan/Veronica (or Casey/Veronica because Casey is love) and Cassidy/Mac, but I can read almost anything else if it's written well. So the other pairings/couplings/character groupings on that list? might be worth checking out.

And cinaminsweet, I believe that mutinousmuse has a Troy/Veronica fic but it ends up Veronica/Logan. I don't think the VM fanfic world was all that big for the first 5 episodes. At least, not on LJ, and that's about all I've read, fanficwise. If you're still interested, I'm sure I can find a link for you. I think she wrote is for the Costume Challenge at loveathons.

ziebra, I just read a hilariously wrong Veronica/Vinnie, called I Herd It Through The Grapevine. Before you read it though, you really need to check out its prequel, I Only Have Eyes For Ewe, which features Lamb, Vinnie, an inflatable sheep, and hilarity. It makes much more sense if you read them in order, insofar as crackfic can make sense.
