Thank you Erniegirl and gabs3.0! I definitely intend to try my hand at some more Hannah or Logan/Hannah fic so we'll just have to see what happens. At least this recent hiatus will give me some time to work on it.

sexycereal - you actually made me love a Logan/Hannah fic. So well written and characterized. Logan, Hannah and Veronica were completely believable to me. I could even get into Logan actually developing true feelings for Hannah. And to me, Veronica's actions bespoke of her trying to prevent Hannah from becoming her post-Lilly's death. Maybe a little revenge against Logan too, but mostly saving the "innocent", which no one bother to do for her. Thanks for posting it.

Gabs, I'm working on the next chapter of Cracking the Shell as well. Should (in theory) be done tonight if not tomorrow. Thanks for appreciating my first fic! It's not smutty like my other two, which aren't on my LJ, but I still enjoy writing it. Update: Okay, I'm 3/4 finished with this chapter but I almost fell asleep on my keyboard, so it will be soon but not tonight, sorry!
Tiana: Given that you already promised you were working on Holding the Curve and VM is a repeat tonight...you have us anxiously awaiting the next chapter! :)
Musey: I'd love an update to Alien Shore or if you wanted to continue your AU of your AU The Paradise Syndrome that would rock as well!
I also read Hollow World and it's a brand new WIP (written in parts) fic with a dark undertone (violence), but well written and gripping and the violence was not gratituous. I only like gratituous smut, not gratituous violence :)

I'm here to drop a rec for
She Will Be Loved by
Her Owlness. Lovely, well-written fic centered on Mac/Cassidy and Logan/Veronica. I loved the development of all four characters. And of course, I'm also here to encourage the author to write more Mac/Cassidy fics. ;)

I'm definitely going to have to second
RowanCeleste's rec of
Hollow World Chapter 1 and
Chapter 2. It begins with delicious L/V Snark, gets rather dark, and ends in delicious angst, all totally in character. I can't wait to read more!

spygrrl76, thank you! Your reading of Veronica was exactly as I intended it, I just can't see her being okay with Logan taking advantage of someone like Hannah when she herself has had issues with similar events in the past.
And I would definitely second the rec for Thursday Next, it's an excellent read with really great characterisation and an interesting premise.

Thanks for the rec,
auroraskyes! I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed it. Mac and Cassidy are a lot of fun to play with, and when I add Logan and Veronica to the mix, things just get even more exciting. (heh)
Additionally, I do appreciate the encouragement for future MC fics - even though I have already written 2 previously. (

Thanks again! :)

Hello! My internet has been bust-ass, so I haven't been around in forever. I'm still getting caught up on all the great fic that's been posted recently, and I'm taking this opportunity to pimp some stuff I wrote when I had the whole bust-ass internet situation going on.
I've been steadily updating my
Big Damn Table of Lambfic, and I've now written up to prompt 60, plus two Writer's Choice. It's all Lamb, all the time.
One of the Writer's Choice pieces is a futurefic featuring Lamb and Duncan, called
Polished Smooth, And Beauty Out Of Broken Things.
And I also posted a Duncan/Veronica ficlet a few weeks ago, which very few people have reviewed, probably because of the whole thing where it's about Duncan and Veronica. But I like it, so there, and I'd love it if people checked it out:
The Truth Is Never Easy, And It Often Isn't Good.

sadie kate, I really liked "The Truth Is Never Easy, And It Often Isn't Good"--but I'm not surprised, becaused I've loved pretty much everything you've written. My favorite V/D piece out there is probably "Photographs Are Stored In Boxes", which is fantastic.
P.S.--congrats on the ficfrommars awards! Not that I, like, stalk you or anything.
sadie kate
Feb 17, 2006 @ 12:40 am
Hee. I think if you identify yourself as a stalker, you're not so stealthy, so I feel unthreatened and more comfortable.
Thanks for the nice words, and for the congratulations. It was a nice treat to come back after several days and see pretty banners for me.

This isn't a thread I visit often, but I wanted to pimp this story because I really liked it. It has my guilty pleasure ship of
Logan/Jackie. Yes, I know *boo, hiss, boo* but it's not smaltzy or romantic or anything that sort. It very nice and hope you'll give it a try. I'm really quite awful describing stories but it just seems very honest and true to the characters to me.
*slinks off into the shadows*
Oh and
sadie kate, I read "The Truth Is Never Easy, And Often Isn't Good" and absolutely loved it.

Queenrikki, if Logan/Jackie rocks your world, have you checked out
Deadweight?
Also, I've written something a little different for the Loveathons Cupid Challenge. It's entirely Lilly's point of view.
Down the Vibrant String. I'd love to know what you think about how well I managed to balance the love story with the more mystical aspects.

Feb 17, 2006 @ 12:13 pm
Hi, newbie here. Sadiekate's Who Was Crying Or What They Were Crying For got me crying all the way thru...good thing I was alone in my room. Keith's funeral scene was so moving (could picture the scene in my head, and I love DaddyMars) and Aaron's execution scene was heartbreaking. I love Logan's characterization in Hollow World. So the scene was painful to imagine...but what could I say...angst is delicious.
Anyway, I'm looking for dark, angsty fics that focuses on Logan/ LoVe with good characterization-something like Hollow World. Could anyone help?

I read Down the Vibrant String (and I never leave feedback in LJ because I am a total slacker, sorry) - I really liked it, I thought all the characters seemed spot on, and I liked the basic premise. But the end seemed schmaltzy and confusing - she comes back to life?

Feb 17, 2006 @ 2:18 pm
I was actually wondering the same thing about "Down the Vibrant String."
I wrote a two-part fic...it's my first fic ever. I feel bad about pimping my own fic, but I'm new to this, and would love more feedback. :)

Queenrikki, if Logan/Jackie rocks your world, have you checked out Deadweight?
I haven't read that, but I'm sure going to check it out. I don't really read all that much fanfic. Or at least not the VM variety, since I hate Logan and Logan/Veronica and that seems to be the majority of what's out there. But I do like the whole Logan/Jackie thing because, well, they're both rather messed up and I like trainwrecks.

Superbacca ~ Thanks for reccing HtC. You're too kind!
And well, since I'm here, I might as well point to two one-shot Logan/Veronica fics I posted this week. So, let the self-pimpage begin!
The More Things Change (L/V, R) and
Rain Check (L/V, NC-17).
Also, I highly recommend
sadiekate's Polished Smooth, And Beauty Out Of Broken Things. You do NOT have to be a Duncan fan to love this fic. I am living proof of that fact.
Thanks for reading! :)

Nay and LaFilipiniana1, what exactly confused you? It was my intention, yes, that Lilly did come back to life, fully and completely. I think it's telling that she doesn't interact with Veronica and Logan once they have given her what she needed. To me, it was slightly creepy and a bit strange, so not schmaltzy. Unless you were referring to my comments about Veronica and Logan loving each other? If I still haven't answered your questions, I'd love to know where you found yourself getting confused and what exactly you felt was overly sentimental.
I'm glad you liked it atropos116.

Nay ~ Wow, thanks very much! All my VM fic is on

Queen_haq ~ Thanks, dear! I AM working on it this weekend. Of course, instead of that, I've just been reading a bunch of the Cupid Loveathons fics and your fic,
Jailbait, was wonderfully smutty AND angsty.I'll leave you more comments over there. :P
ETA: Jailbait was actually written by the lovely Disdainful Lady (ladydisdain on LJ) and I am actually a DORK. Sorry for the mixup and thanks for the gracious correction, QH. You SHOULD have written a Cupid fic so I could enjoy it today! Too much smut in one day obviously fried my brain. :Patropos116~Thanks for the love on The More Things Change and your willingness to take on Htc, despite it being a WIP. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
kimilu ~ New chapter is coming. Pretty soon. Thanks for asking!
And my lovely

I know it wasn't to me but thanks TrueMyth for the Deadweight recommendation. I really enjoyed this fic. It was awesome. I don't really like Jackie. However, I did warm up to her in ANMMHE. The author has buried a companion piece to "Fish" in her "Author's Notes" section. She won't let me link to it, because she wants everyone to find it for themselves. But it's worth the search!
