Some thoughts for tonight:
*Bessie finally gets a few lines on the show! LMAO. That has to be a shout out.
*That prison scene was just absolutely ridiculous.
*Lex just isn’t surprised at all at Clark’s asinine behavior anymore. Why on earth would he suspect something’s changed when Clark normally acts just like his father anyway?
*Wasn’t anyone else expecting Liark to drop the truck?
*Lana has water on her back? Clark’s air and guess who’s fire…
*“Martha?” He, he. “I need a hug” and eyejaculation LMAO! That’s just wrong.
*Something’s really wrong with Smallville when I like Liark better than Clark. TW can actually act and be charismatic, who knew?
*Who wrote this? Cause this episode seems like it was trying to be intentionally funny and actually succeeded at said attempt.
*“Don’t you wish” “Miss Sullivan” that Magnificent Bastard!
*Jana, why must I suffer through you???? I don’t give a flying F&CK!
*Lex so rocks! He stole all of Lionel’s money. Ha, ha!
*Liark so called the Lana on being a worthless whore worthy of only a cheap romp in the hay. If he only knew her better, he’d have so much more material to work with.
*He doesn’t remember???? Miracle???? Bullshit!
*“The one thing that you’re good at” Burn! And from Lana, none the less. I think I liked her for just a little bit there.
*Clark and his lies and his favors! Urggh!
*Oh, a surprise guest who’s really a surprise. Welcome back MK!

Heeee! I loved it! I thought it would be cornier than hell, but John Glover was magnificant! And Tom Welling was fabulous! And, and... yes! Everything psychi wrote. More like this, please, AlMiles!

I thought it was a good episode. But now what? Lionel knows all about Clark - except that green meteor rock is his weakness. Lex knows -again- that Clark is super strong. Lionel's liver is cured; what about Clark's liver? Will they forget these things next week?

I totally LOVED this epi!!!! LOVED it!
TW and JG were great, absolutely great playing eachother. This was Tom's best acting yet.
My favorite line: (sigh) "This one again." (Clark when Lana walked into the barn).
Also...in that same scene...right before Clark smashed the phone...HOLY DUCK!!!! I need a screencap for that one! Rewind and watch as TW walks toward the camera. Guh!

Wow...those first few scenes after the transference were painful. I swore that was some of the worst acting I've seen from Tom Welling like, ever. Got better though as the episode progressed.
Best scene was when Lana busted into the barn and Clarkionel was like, "THIS one..." Awesome.
Secrets and Lies back in full effect!
That scene with Martha and the eye ejaculate was so, so, so wrong. I might have to set my brain on fire to burn to purge it from my memory.
Anyone else think we that third chamber in the cave wall should be reserved for Lana? I mean, she does have the tattoo...

I was mildly interested. Strangely enough, the part that amused me most was
when Liark (sarcastically, I am convinced) called Lana a "succulent fruit, ripe for plucking," and Lana got all indignant and offended at his choice of words. My sister and I started shrieking pinkly at each other: "How DARE you say 'pluck' to me, Clark! Pluck YOU! Motherplucker!"
Sorry. Yes, we ARE eight, why do you ask?

But now what? Lionel knows all about Clark - except that green meteor rock is his weakness.
Conveniently, Lionel doesn't remember what happened in the last few days. I hate that. HATE! Stupid cheesy lame copout, bad writers no biscuit!
But overall, very enjoyable episode. I don't know how Lex figured out it was Lionel, though. I mean, Clark asking for money and being a jerk is pretty par for the course. I almost died laughing when Lex pulled a gun on him at the end though. Funniest smallville moment ever.
Stupid Lana with her Stupid Secreth and Lieth and her pissy lispy whispers again. Shut up!
And stupid Kents with their superfootball and their tractor lifting in public. Idiots. Idiots! They all deserve to be on an alien autopsy show on Fox!
How sad is it that I prefer Clark when he's actually Lionel? I was truly saddened when they had to go back to their own bodies.

This was a squirmer, no doubt...especially when the MDA (Magicient Dumb Alien) went heatbeam over Martha. Brrrrrrrrrr.
Anybody else hoping Rain Man would get shanked? Annoying.
And once again, Clark has to explain why he acted the way he did. Shouldn't the school be clamping down on him by now? Seriously, Chloe thinks he's a crackhead, and I wouldn't disagree with her.
Props to Glover for acting like such a spazz. It takes major chops to play a Big Dumb Alien.
Anybody else get warm "Oz" fuzzies over the riot?
Next week: Hey, it's "Touch" all over again! Why does the WB want to do what ABC Family seeks to do already?

Now THAT episode was money. Possibly the best this season.
Anyone else notice that Glover had to act like a moron in order to accurately depict Clark? I found that the funniest thing about this episode. He constantly looked like a frightened rabbit while stammering out dipshit remarks. Yep, that's Clark alright! Hilarious.
Great ep.

Oh my gosh, I SO LOVED this episode. I am hard-pressed to find any fault with it. I think TW channeled the MB so well. Ohmigollygeegosh, is he hot when he is not in plaid. And in the last scene, when he went back to plaid, I was just like, ech!
And Lionel is just a horn dog. Which begs the question, why haven’t we seen more of Lionel as the super stud?
Lionel is disease-free. There WILL be more of the MB. But he has changed. Some of Clark has obviously rubbed off on him, and cured his liver, and perhaps changed his personality. It would be crazy, as in ironic as hell, if Lionel became good, and Lex went all the way evil.
And did I not say that there would be Oedipus Rex vibes!!! Yes, I said it!!! I laughed out loud and ewwwed so hard when MB as Clark hugged Martha and smell her hair, and eyejaculated. That was just disgusting, and hilarious, simultaneously.
The Lana and Jason scene bored me until they got caught. And why oh why were they kissing in his unlocked high school office with the blinds partially open.
And the MB as Clark with Chloe. That was just magnificently bastardy, MB. Dirty and wrong. Just dirty and wrong.
John Glover did innocent really well. I could say more, but I’m in a rush.
This episode rocked. Why oh why can’t the writers write like this all the time?
Except, even as I write that, I remember what I tried really hard to suppress. MB has the convenient cure-all of amnesia. Why oh why, damn you! MB could have remembered, but Clark could have blackmailed him, or threatened him with violence, since MB knows very well that he could crush his throat in a twist. Or MB could blackmail Clark into getting Lex to help him get out. Oh, the drama. It would have been wonderful.
And how IS Clark going to explain his behavior? I guess next week it will be just an afterthought that is never refered to again, like his amnesia at the beginning of the season. You'd think a hospital administer would have followed up with that.
Okay, really, gotta go.

I am so glad Chloe suggest psychotherapy. As has been said many many times on TWoP, people who didn't know he was an alien would think he was mentally unstable (some of us think that anyway) and wondered why no one ever suggested the possibility.
And oh my god the Chlionel. I loved that Lionclark really seemed to want to take things further but forced himself to stop, in order to hurt Chloe. It was like he was getting into it, and then remembered "oh wait, she sent me to prison, I need to be mean to her!" I don't know how I feel about him possibly wanting to kiss her for a long time though.
Why did he have to go for Lana though? Why? I was cheering when he sighed and said, "This one again," in annoyance, then he had to turn on the charm. Why? Just to freak her out? I wanted to "pluck" my eyes out.
I wish there'd been more Lex. In an episode about his father, he should have been in it more. He and Clark had matching outfits on though.

I forced a few friends to watch this episode with me and they all commented how JG couldn't act at all. But I felt like his poor acting was brilliant acting, acting how Tom normally non-acts. And I tried really hard to make that a coherent sentence, but failed miserably.
Anyway, I loved the last Clex scene. The hug and Clark proving himself with what they always joke about just made me warm and fuzzy inside. Then Clark had to go ruin it by asking for another favor. Clark is trying to KILL me here.
And that prison fight scene...I just have no words. What the hell was that? The fighting...that song....was it supposed to be funny? Was it supposed to be dumb? It was baffling.
But, generally, I really liked this episode. Clark is always hotter when he's a badass. And Lex bent over a desk is what had me giddy all week.

I got to the party late, but just in time to watch Clark walk around the barn shirtless. So very pretty.
OH MY GOD HE DID NOT JUST EYEJACULATE. HE DID NOT JUST EYEJACULATE OVER A MARTHA HUG. NOOOOOO.
I love that John Glover is playing Clark really flatly. Or maybe that's just the lines.
You'd think Lionel Would be better at bluffing. I'm sure he's had to fake knowing women he's screwed before.
I have to say TW is doing a damn good job, which is making me think that it's not so much his acting as it is the dialogue that's crippling his acting.
And TW's so very hot as Lionel in Clark's body. So very hot.
HE DID NOT JUST X-RAY CHLOE. HE DID. ALL THOSE "SEE YOU IN A WHOLE NEW LIGHT" ... oh my god, Lionel totally wants Chloe. Oh my god.
Why does Lana always look like she's delivering a death sentence when she's talking about the damn tattoo?
How has Clark not yet learned that Lionel is very willing to kill Lex? How fucking stupid is he?
Wait, how can Lex take the money out of Lionel's account without voice activation?
And also, I love how everyone is reacting to Lionel-as-Clark being too smart. Mentioning a river in France? Lana's totally bewildered by his usage of words.
I've never noticed Lionel using his nose as much as Lionel-as-Clark is. And I'm kind of confused as to way Lionel fails to act even remotely like Clark.
However, I ::heart:: Lionel-as-Clark. So very sexy. The Sexy. More so than Lex, even.
Wait, they have a closet full of meteor rock? A *closet* full of meteor rock? That's just sick, man. And how has Lionel not figured out yet that it's meteor rock that's weakening him?
Are we really to believe that this is allowed in a prison? I mean, seriously ... yup, the guards asses being kicked is exactly why this was a bad idea on their parts. And I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny that the prisoner just got hit upside the head with a nightstick, but ...yeah, it totally was.
Oh god, bad-ass TW moving in slow motion is so much sexier than I could ever have imagined.
Lionel's liver is healed. Huzzah! The MB shall not die. No, wait, I take that back - the MB is dead. Do we have the Benevolent Bastard now?
Woo! You go girl! Telling the BDA that he's fucking crazy! Go girl in your sassy shirt and pretty hair and hot awesomeness.
Uh, Lana? Maybe don't discuss this IN THE CORRIDOR OF THE SCHOOL. Just a thought.
MR is so hot when he's mad. So very hot.
Clark, are you trying to get a CON out of jail? Are you asking Lex to FREE A GODDAMN CONVICT? *sigh* I almost forgot, I hate Clark. Hate him. Haaaaaateeee Clark.
But holy crap, Margot Kidder! DELIGHTFUL.

I tried to appreciate TW's acting, I really did.. but he was hitting me on the head with a ton of bricks with his Lionel-ness every other second, so I didn't really get a chance. Mama Kent, however -- her reaction when she realized that her son was stuck in Lionel's body was perfect.
I must admit that, having never been in prison, I'm not well-versed in prison security, but the entire episode struck me as a somewhat ludicrous comedy, otherwise. Clark's miserable attempts at explaining away his abilities always sound comedic to me, though, so I guess I shouldn't expect to take the show seriously.
Also, hoyay, anyone? My grandmother passed the TV during the prison riot scene and thought I was watching some kind of horror movie. Later, when Clark and Lex hugged, I emitted such a loud and violent squee that she thought I was traumatized and warned me that I'd have nightmares if I kept watching that stuff.
Are we supposed to believe that Lionel really has no memory of the events that occurred while he "inhabited" Clark?

Wait I forgot the thing that made me scream at the TV and scare the cat! We have confirmation now: Clark knew it was Lex's jet he broke into! That just retroactively makes me hate him even more. He knew it and yet still felt fine and dandy passing judgements on Lex. "Gee I know I'm the dangerous one, who's pretty easily brainwashed, and who almost killed him and three other people, and I did ruin his jet, but... darn it he just really has no right to be curious about anything! Ever! And he's soooo bad! Unless he gives me presents!" Hate!

Wow, that eyejaculation scene was simultaneously the most disturbing and hilarious thing I've ever seen on network television.
Without a doubt, this episode had the most successful comedy I've seen on this show. I loved Lionel's exasperation with Lana when she entered the barn.
Why did Clark not tell Chloe and Lana the truth about the body swap? Surely Clark could get Lex to vouch for him; he basically keeps Lex on call for every other favor anyway. I think Clark's dishonesty is becoming pathological; he's starting to conceal things (like Bart's theft last episode) not even related to his powers.

Yep, I didn’t like Clionel at all either. I’ve come to the realization that it’s the very character of Clark Kent that I don’t like, not the actors. It’s a sad state of affairs. But it sort of gives me hope again that TPTB are making Clark an Asshat on purpose.

Oh and based on spoilers I had predicted 3 things would happen:
1. Lionel would not remember being in Clark's body and therefore not know Clark's secret.
2. Clark would blame his superness on the transference when talking to Lex afterwards.
3. Clark would not explain to Chloe that it was really Lionel kissing her, thereby pissing her off and possibly finally putting an end to Chloe's crush.
Of those three, the last one is the only one I actually wanted to happen. I'd be glad for Chloe to finally move on, and it looks like she's flirting with someone new next week, so that's good timing.
I hate that Lionel doesn't remember. Too convenient. If Lionel is redeemed, I predict it's because they're trying to make Lex look bad compared to Dad.
And the second one I hate because it's just more damn BDA lying. Right to Lex's face. At least Lex didn't seem to buy it, despite the hug.

This might possibly be the best episode ever. Well, as far as non-relevant cheesefests go. Twenty-seven Lana free minutes. And Liark busts her and the perv in that scene. And "lies and secrethsy," excellent. /M. Burns voice
Glad to see MB has it in perspective. He's in love with Martha. He just wants to deflower Lana for fun, not worship her.
And a little HoYay at the end.

The first half of this was comedy GOLD. I squealed like a little piglet. But it sort of fizzled out for me once the novelty had worn off. I thought TW was fantastic and was a bit surprised that JG didn't wipe up the floor with everyone else. I don't think he was all that as Clark.
On the other hand, did you guys think that Lionel wasn't getting beaten when he was surrounded by the other inmates? I think they had more intimate pleasures in mind.

oh wow--i just...wow.
Yeah this episode was pretty good, despite the fact that we still didn't get more than 2 minutes of Chloe. but the two minutes we did get....hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhot.
I think i'll keep doing my reviews as character analysis sort of because I'm just too damn lazy to go scene by scene.
So...
Clark: man that must have sucked in the end to have to go try to make right what he did. I wish he would have told Chloe the truth. If lex believed it and was okay with it, Chloe likely would have been too.
Lionel: changed? how? I don't get it. but JG always is sure to stress the fact that lionel is not evil--he's just mistaken. so...who knows.
Clionel: wow--let me say TW did an amazing job of this. I was a believer in most scenes. There were still some scenes I didn't like...but it was rare.
Lionark: again, wow--but i wasn't impressed with JG's version of Clark for the most part. There were some scenes that he did a good job with. Like he raised his eyebrows a lot and TW does that a lot.
Lana: wow, feel the bitterness. I know most people hate her--but at least she's being consistant. And she lets clark (Clionel) know exaclty how she feels.
Jason: uh...ok. i'm less impressed with him as time goes on.
Chloe: hot. green is a good color for that girl. as is purple and pink and red and yellow and blue and...well....you get the picture. You could just so see her hurting...it was oozing out of every pore the girl has. I nearly cried. AM. damn.fine.actress.
Martha: heh--now we for sure know what Lionel thinks about her.
Jonathan: his lack of real prescence (and the judo scene) satisfied me.
Lex: Loved the ending when he pulls the gun on clark. I'm glad he caught on though. I'm surprised he believed it though.
extras
mathmetician d00d: he was great--his whole character was enjoyable.
Wtf was up with the ending? They're always leaving it vague as to whether swann is evil or not. Swann's collecting kryptonite stuff thats for sure (r.i.p. CR).
fire air water--strange. i wonder what "Water" has to do with the Countess.
Next week's episode: Heh, mxy was hilarious when he tells chloe to kiss him. actually chloe's facial expressions was hilarious...like "Oh wow, why am i kissing this guy just because he said so...this is weird." Hopefully next week we'll see more than 2 minutes of her.

Cyb, I caught that too, "When I was Kal-El..." When aren't you Kal-El, moron?
Kal-El, son of Jerell! Isn't Jerell a Jackson brother? Or am I thinking of Jermaine?
Was anyone else scared for those cows at the beginning? I thought Clark was going to tackle them. Beef! It's what's for football practice! Really I was nervous for Bessie and friends.
Instead, it was the bucket that bore the brunt of his superthrowing. Asshat! Does Clark think buckets grow on trees? I mean I guess they kind of do, cause they're made of wood, but they still cost money. Stop destroying property, BDA.
I wonder when he starts to go against Clark, if the doubt that his father and Clark never switched back will enter his head.
I wondered that too. Or at the very least will he wonder if there's some lingering influence inside Clark. Little does he know, Clark's a jerk completely without Lionel's influence.
ETA:
i wonder what "Water" has to do with the Countess.
Maybe it was because she was burned at the stake. Countess: "AAaa! Get me some WATER!"

Maybe it was because she was burned at the stake.
When the line about the Countess being burned as a witch was said, I said (out loud, to myself) that they had FINALLY come up with a Lana story I could get behind! It was a very nice couple of seconds, really.
Anyway... I loved this episode! Cheese all around!
I was sitting on the couch in my apartment, and when the body-switch began, and I was reminded what this epi was going to be about, I started squealing enough that my roomie went back to her room to “leave me with my show.” I might have been a tad bit excited. Maybe. It was enough fun to live up to my expectations, and most of my complaints have been addressed already.
Poor Chloe! I couldn’t believe the MB could be so cruel! Well, I could. It was Clark’s face that confused me. Honestly. I’ll go cry in the corner now.
Jonathan looked hilarious bouncing off the top of the fridge. Yet, this guy with precarious health is just fine after being thrown around like that. Or was there a town-wide miracle, curing everyone of their ills maybe? Lionel has a liver, Jonathan has a heart, Lana has a soul… oh, never mind.
Lana was, well, typical. I loved that she was indignant at getting no reaction from Clark about her and Jason. She really wanted him to be mad or jealous, and worked at it. Another believable thing, but especially fun watching Liark’s facial responses to her. “This one again” indeed.
Lex pulling the gun on Clark – awesome! Finally, Lex shows some self-preservation skills! We didn’t see nearly enough Lex this episode, though I’m glad he noticed something wrong with Clark. I wish Liark had gone in for some of the too-close-for-familial-comfort conversations and touches though. I’ll take my Clex where I can get it. And I’d like to put in my request for a Lex/Lionel body switch anyway – imagining MR acting like JG, the swagger, and the long glances, and the … the… excuse me, I need a personal moment.
I admit I wasn’t watching closely, but I thought that Lionel had made up the amnesia thing. If he didn’t remember anything from the switched days, then wouldn’t he wonder what Clark was doing in the middle of a prison riot? And wonder what happened to his (undoubtedly work-intensive) plans to trap Lex in his body? I’ll watch it again later though, I might have just misinterpreted it. I really don't like the use of amnesia in this show.
I wonder if Clark has to blackmail Jason in order to get back on the team. He sure wasn’t nice when quitting. But Liark sure was amusing in that scene, hanging off the door, moving around… And earlier, checking himself out in the mirror! Wow! The cockiness was great. I expect some excellent fanart/vids from this episode.
Sorry for the long post

I'm so happy that we got the Liark/Martha scene we predicted. It's so perfectly Lionel for her to be what triggered the eyejactulation.
I love how braindead JG had to play to hit Clark's mannerisms. And TW did a good job, he seemed to be enjoying it, especially the aforementioned Martha scene.
I was so happy to see that Liark had no patience for Lana. I admit that part of me was terrified that he would suddenly, inexplicably adore her.
I wonder if Clark has to blackmail Jason in order to get back on the team.
Nah, he'll just have Lex buy some new goalposts or something in exchange for Clark getting back on.
The thing that drove me the most crazy though was one line:
Clionel: But he's your son! Your
only son!
Hello, Clark? Do you not remember two years ago when you met Lionel's other son, Lucas? At the very least you should remember the jealousy and Lex sleeping on your couch. I guess since both the writers and the actors (since neither JG or TW objected to that line) have forgotten him, that really means we will never see Lucas again.
ETA: I agree,
Marta, Chloe should have known it wasn't Clark the minute he called her "Miss Sullivan".

Holy SHIT!!! I loved this episode!
So, now, onto the substance:
Cyb said:
1. Lionel would not remember being in Clark's body and therefore not know Clark's secret.
When Lionel was talking to the doctor, he totally lied. (Some of the BDA rubbed off). He remembered everything about what he was doing in Clark's body, but nothing about what was going on with his own body. But if he said anything like, "I don't know, because I was in the body of a superpowered yet very big and supremely dumb alien," he would have ended up in a padded cell being cared for by a different kind of doctor. So, he came up with the best excuse he could - "I don't remember" (which again suggests that perhaps a part of Clark has rubbed off onto the Lionel IQ in addition to the Lionel liver) to get out of having to make an explanation that would put him into the nearest straight jacket.
So, yeah, he remembers. How he's interpreting it is a totally different matter. That halo around Clark right after the switch? It's making me think he's putting some sort of spiritual/metaphysical spin on the whole thing - which may explain him having a change of heart. But seriously, Lionel? Going good? Nah...he's putting people on.
One last thing...Did anyone else think that Edgar was channelling a certain Marshall J. Flinkman of Alias fame?

Oh. My. God.
Lionel so wants Chloe. That is so, so wrong. Notice all the things he said to her were not only totally true (twinkling eyes, sexy smile, etc.), but he starts off by saying that he's always found her fascinating. That was not him just turning on the Sexy for the impressionable young girl, that was Lionel saying things to Chloe that he couldn't say before, then just managing to pull himself away because he wanted to torture her. Did you catch that look on his face as he resolves to not kiss her?
Holy fucking hell. Electrifying.
Also, ITA with whoever said that Clionel eyejaculating because of the Martha hug was simultaeneously disturbing and hilarious. Kudos to whoever called that on the Spoiler Thread.
Then, jockeying for my favorite part: the Clionel and Lana scene. Hilarious. Everything was just so perfect. "This one..." HA!
Then as she's going on and on about her INAPPROPRIATE relationship he's just "Blah blah blah whothefuckcares?!" It's like he was the audience avatar. And finally, already having Lana's measure he knows that anything remotely sexual will insult her delicate Peep ears so he turns on the Sexy, totally mocks her relationship with Jason, and laughs at her anger. Loved. Every. Second.
And then, Lana's false sense of entitlement in demanding that Clark not tell anyone restored my hatred for her to full bloom. For a while there I was acheiving some measure of apathy. Also, she so wanted Clark to mope and be sad about her and Jason. Bitch.
The final Lex scene was so great. My mother and I were dying as Lex demanded that Clark answer his question. Heh. I enjoyed that it actually made them seem like they were friends (not to mention that they totally mock Bo's platitudes behind his back. heh). Though, Clark did sort of ruin it by immediately asking for a favor, but I wasn't as angry with him as I usually am since it was a selfless favor. I mean the crazy math dude did help him out in a very rough situation. Not to mention that Clark has nothing to gain fromhim being out of jail. Though there's not really anything to excuse his lie about how he and Lionel switched. I mean, for all he knows Lionel could have the damn thing back and try to use it again. It would be in Lex's best interest if he knew how it went down. Of course, Lex's best interest isn't really something Clark has ever cared much about so...
Also, Chloe calling Clark a crackhead and suggesting he get some professional help? Priceless.

Since no one else has mentioned it, I thought the scene with Clark in Lionel's body watching the prison riot -- the all too human badness that was happening -- was really the beginning of Superman. It's the first indication of bone-deep knowledge of human pain and suffering.
Lionel says he's changed, but I'll be interested to see if Clark really acts changed.
Lionel checking out his new body in the mirror was wonderful. There were so many sensuous little touches. It makes me wonder if Clark's imperviousness means that he can't feel softness.
Chloe was perfect and that scene was hot. Martha was beautiful. Bo was dumb, but believable and I screamed when he was thrown across the room. Not good for a man who's been in a coma recently.
Lex twigging so quickly to what was wrong was perfect. How long has it been since we've really seen "Lex the genius"?
Any bets as to whether Clark's playing football next week?
Oh, and when Chloe suggested that Clark was on drugs, the smart lie to have told was "but the guys on the team said it would enhance my performance." Let her think that he got some bad steroids. She'd still be worried about him, but it might alleviate some of her hurt and would probably get her suspicions away from him.

1. Luckily, M&G seem to believe only eeeeevil people can hate Lana. I suggest they turn everyone evil.
2. I think Liark probably had to go home and hug Martha after the Chlotease.
3. Could no one think that maybe Lionel framed this guy? Because then it would be in Lex's interest to get the guy out.
I'm giving Steven DeKnight props on this episode. But I'm watching you. There were some bad Angel episodes and Smallville can't take much more crappy revelations.

I have no shame. I really, really, really, really liked this episode.
There is one meager defense of Clark: he believed Lionel's threat about killing Lex, and by speaking into the mike, saved Lex's life. Hizzah.
The rest? The airplane, the favor...yeah. Ass.
Well, I can fanwank the favor bit. I mean, the very word "favor" from Clark is annoying as hell, but I finally think he did do the right thing (or, at least it wasn't an evil/jerk thing, though perhaps more than a tad stupid). Clark actually used his brain and deduced that while this fella is mumbling and odd, he's likely innocent: Lionel framed him to get him into jail, then probably pulled some more strings to get him as his cellmate because he needed him: he's a twitchy version of Dr. Walden, but he's still brilliant. And Clark did owe him one; Twitchy!Cellmate got Lionel back to Clark.
Oh, and an admitting nod to Clark for pulling a fast one on Lionel with the hidden rock trick. It's none too easy tricking Lionel. Particularly when he has x-ray vision.
I think Lionel remembers. He'd be crazy if he told the truth. And I can fanwank that there's something special about Kryptonians that heals livers - that's how the resurrections took place, anyway. Unfortunately, I do also believe that Lionel is reformed, which SUCKS, because 1), he's so much more interesting evil, and 2), ITA that it's only being done in the first place to make Lex more evil, which is stupid, stupid, STOOPID. And cheap. And easy. And so our PTB.
Word to Chloe should have figured out theh Clionel. But even if she didn't, Clark should have told her. I think she'd be freaked beyond measure at being hit on by the MB, but at least she wouldn't hate Clark.
Lana was a bitch, but at least she was blunt.
TW kicked ass. Really and truly. ITA that this was his best acting yet, and confirms with me that he also is fed up with the asshatted lines he's given and he isn't happy about it.
And...dare I say it? Now, I'm not saying that TW did a better MB than JG, because he NEVER could, but all the same: TW did a better MB than JG did a better BDA. There. I said it. You can throw the rotten veggies all you want, but you KNOW IT'S TRUE!

After thinking more about Lionel's conversion...I don't think he saw Clark...I think he saw a man bathed in light who effectively "disappeared." I think Lionel thinks he has had some out-of-body, near-death, visitation from God experience, to rephrase and agree with
Simply.
Which would explain his tears. I mean, Imagine if you remember what happened to your body, ie, the screwdriver fight, but realized that you had no control over your body, but was "saved."
Someone said that the Lionel change will feed into a later comparison of Lionel and Lex. The once bad, now supergood Lionel, and evil, evil Lex. Ooh, ooh, and Clark will be able to confide in Lionel, fostering a close father/son relationship, especially effective if Bo dies, and Martha remarries Lionel the Good, and they become a happy family--something Lex never had, even when his Mom was alive--which will draw even more of Lex's hatred towards Clark, possibly becoming the proverbial straw-breaking camel. A bit of fanwank, but it could happen.
There was quite a bit of Judeo-Christian imagery in this. From the halo around Clark (who else is disgusted that they are going this far to intimate that he is a savior, like The Savior?") and the Judas kiss "I love you" moment with the MB and Lex.
Oh, ho, Lex is going to hate Lionel for that. The one thing he has ALWAYS wanted to hear from his Dad, and Lionel uses it to trap Lex in his dying body and allow him to die. And that fact that he almost fell for it. Actually he did fall for it. Geez, the bastardy only becomes more magnificient as we go on.
Anybody else notice how fast the prison got trashed? All I could think of was "where the hell did all of that paper come from?"
I think Clark's dishonesty is becoming pathological; he's starting to conceal things (like Bart's theft last episode) not even related to his powers.
by Red EchoRed Echo, as my brother says "You ain't never lied."
Clark is frickin pathological. He lies because he can. No, just because he is too stupid to think of...um...say...the truth. Or at least something convincingly similiar to the truth. "Gee Lex, how would I know how strong he was? Really? What did he do? What do you think happened? How on earth could he make us switch bodies? That was weird as crap for me. Your dad is one strange dude. Does he have any other powers or magical/mystical knowledge that we should be aware of?" Stupid BallRag.
I mean the BDA acts as if because they've make Freaky Friday and ALL of Me, and the Kirk Cameron/Dudley Moore one...that body switching is complete normal. Act surprised, or shocked. Something, dammit! Especially since you are trying to...I don't know...hide... your powers and any knowledge thereof.
Jorowe, yeah, Lana was SO trying to get Clark to be jealous. I'm thinking, "hey Trick, you want him to not be upset, and rat on you, so why are you trying to bait him." Anyone else would have lied their teeth off. "Clark, it is all my fault, you know what a cock-teasing whore I am, and that was the first time we kissed and it wasn't even all that great, so please don't get Coach Teague fired."
And the way she demands that he not tell. I was like, "Yeah, Lame-a, since you asked so nicely, sure. Not."
And was Clark hurt by the revelation at the end, because to me, he just looked confused. However,
TW is so fucking hot when he's playing a bad ass. I wish he would be evil always.
Violet4120, word!
And I so don't know who I want to shag more, Lionel and Chloe, or Clark and Chloe, or Lionel and Martha. I wish the writers would stop teasing me with the Clark and Chloe touchy-rubby-nummy-goodness, because it is just painful. If THEY had a shower scene, I think I'd melt. Literally ooze away.
To reiterate, I loved this episode. Minor plot points and annoying writer flubs aside, it has been the best one this season.
Long post, sorry. I love you guys.

I really enjoyed this ep. I've always thought TW was hot, but I had no idea how much hotter he is when he's bad. Wow.
I loved it when Liark was admiring his new body, making sure to check out the stuff below the waistband. And I loved the way he said 'I need a hug' like he couldn't figure out how not to be lewd.

emfg:I forced a few friends to watch this episode with me and they all commented how JG couldn't act at all. But I felt like his poor acting was brilliant acting, acting how Tom normally non-acts.
You're not the only one. I thought JG was brilliant. TW acted kind of pissy but not as glorious as the MB. JG totally had the darty, smell-the-fart acting of TW down to a science.

Big fat WORD, SheWhoHathAPen. The Chloe/Clarkionel scene was electric. I got shivers when he licked his lips while scoping her out. And the way Chloe touched his chest while teasing that he'd been sacked too many times? Hot. I loved the blocking in that scene, with Clark rolling his chair closer to Chloe's desk, then stalking her from the desk to the light table, only to move in for the kill with the near-kiss. I loved all the movement in that scene.
And I just LOVED that Lex left two dollars in Lionel's account. He knew Lionel would try to get at that money. Awesome.
As beautiful as AM is, why do they keep putting her in those utility pants? I'd prefer to see a little more shape, thankyouverymuch.
Also, I laughed when Lana tried to pronounce the name of that French village. And whatever to Lana having French ancestry. It's funny that Lana and Jason are trying to figure this Countess stuff out, they're so obviously clueless. If it was Chloe she would've figured everything out by now. I'd laugh if Jason and Lana built up all this evidence pointing to some inflated destiny of Lana's only to find out she was totally picked at random.
Edit: And I agree to whomever said that this was TW's best performance and that he was bored playing out BDA's boring storylines. And yes, Lana was certainly playing up hers and Jason's relationship. Was she wanting Clark to bow down? Be jealous? Apologize for not giving up his life to follow The Royal Pinkness around? I still think Clark should've told her off. One minute she's throwing his secrets in his face, and the next she's telling him to keep one of hers? Bitch.
I have a question: What kind of prison is Lionel in? They just let a "teenager" visit whenever he pleases? He was there, what, three times in two days?

I loved, loved, loved this episode. From top to bottom. And funny!! Yes, finally SV is not taking itself so seriously.
It's so unnerving that Lex wasn't even surprised. A little "welcome back" and that's all? No, "how the hell did you morph into my Dad's body?" I guess Lex's attitude is just "Fcuk it. This is Smallville, weirder things have happened."
And whatever to Lana having French ancestry. It's funny that Lana and Jason are trying to figure this Countess stuff out, they're so obviously clueless.
That scene was so tacked on. That little blurb about her mother's ancestors lost me. Who cares? Go back to Paris, Lana.
Even if he is reformed now, it may not last, one. I don't think that him being good will get him out of jail. Also, it may just feed his obsession more.
Lionel saying things to Chloe that he couldn't say before, then just managing to pull himself away because he wanted to torture her. Did you catch that look on his face as he resolves to not kiss her? Holy fucking hell. Electrifying.
That was the best. Lionel is a P.I.M.P.
There's just too many good things about Transference.

I don't know what I thought about this eppi. I was pretty good. Not as good as I was expecting but... Hey, I'm used to it.
I thought TW was pretty good as Lionel. He was totally different. And JG as Clark... priceless. Some people may say he wasn't that great but... the tone of his voice, the look in his eyes... totally conveyed he was different before he even opened his mouth. JG is one of those acotrs who can speak volumes without even opening his mouth, just by the look on his face.
The Lionel-Clark/Martha scene... Gross... but in a hilarious way! I was laughing my ass off at the MB's realization that, hey, he could touch Martha and talk to her because eh think's he's Clark! That was awesome. And the eye sparks... Steven DeKnight... I think I may love you.
Lionel as Clark/Chloe scene. Cripes almighty was that SMOKING. I always knew Lionel had a special spot for Chloe but I had no idea it was THAT kind special place. I thought he looked at her as the daughter he never had but... WOW. I love that he said he found her fascinating... And then that stuff about her smile and skin and the way he almost inhaled her... It was like he couldn't control himself... Steven DeKight... I *know* I love you.
But poor Chloe. Major snaps to AM, as usual. She's another one of those actors who can say so much in expressions only and tonight.... Damn. She made me want to cry. I'm so sick of Chloe getting the shit kicked out of her, and Allison Mack always handles it so well. Even if she doesn't necessarily like it which can't be said for ALL of the actresses on the show. At least she doesn't completely shut down when she's bored with something (*ahem* I'm looking at you Kreuk *ahem*)
OOOh I LOVE Lex!!! Pissed off Lex is so hot... And I thought it was very in character that he figured out what was going on with Clark... And his reaction was kick ass... His whole face changed and he made an off the cuff comment about "that's an interesting number..." God love MR.
Lionel as Clark/Lana scene; *cackles evily* I LOVED IT!!! When she came bursting into the barn and Clark shoots her a totally annoyed look and goes "This one again..." HA! And then his "plucking" line, Oh dear God... I was *waiting* for the words "beautiful" or "perfect" to leave Lionel as Clark's mouth and they never did! He insulted and mocked the hell out of her instead!
My unabashed hatred for Lana is rearing it's head again. Damn was she just a BITCH. She was consistent but... That scene in the barn with Liark... she was out for blood and she wasn't going to stop until she got it. I LOVE that Lioark was totally uninterested in her speech about her and Jason... It pissed Lana off and it was OBVIOUS. She wanted Clark to be jealous and mopey and pining after her again and all she got was an insult to her purity!
I LOVED the last Chlark scene. Chloe thinking Clark's a crack head and suggesting he seek psychological help... PERFECT!!! And man, was she fed up with his crap or what? It really seems like it was the final straw for her and she's just done with Clark. I hope so at least. Chloe deserves so much better.
The Lana and Clark scene at the end... What the fuck is wrong with her, STILL going on and on and on about Clark keeping "secreths and lieths" from him I mean, there she was bitching and moaning for the NINE HUNDREDTH BILLION TIME about Clark keeping things from her, and then she turns around and tells him that she's been seeing Jasonm secretly, lying to everyone about it, and that Clark better keep his mouth shut about her and Jason? Hipocrisy, thy name is Lana.
I thought she was going to reedem herself when she started in about Jason's job being on the line and how he really needs the job... But then she turned it around to bee ALL. ABOUT. HER. All of the pain Clark caused HER. Everything Clark put HER through. It was like she was saying Clark owed it to her to be quiet. God I hate Lana.
Next week; Trent Ford with an accent... *fans self* And he gets his mack on with Chloe. But, did anyone notice that after the Voice-Over-Dude said Myx had the power to control even the most powerful minds... and then they showed LANA...? What the fuck? Oh yeah, she's got a REAL strong mind.
It'll be interesting to see Trent Ford with MR... and how their scenes play out. DAMN I hope we get a Chlex scene. This is BEYOND ridiculous at this point.

That episode was excellent. Wonderful job by TW. He plays bad boy so very well.
Lionel is son mean MFer ain't he? We already knew that though. But that scene with Chloe, that is so cruel. And it kicked so much ass. Clionel's longing and then sadistic pleasure. And Chloe's pain. Excellent.
But why doesn't Clark just explain to Chloe about the rock? We're talking about the girl with the Wall of Weird. I'm sure she'd believe him. Esp. with Lex backing him up.
Speaking of Lex, why did Clark lie to him? Is it so hard to tell him that his dad used a rock to switch 'em?
That Clionel/Martha scene was a little disturbing. Though I laughed out loud when he blew up the tractor. That was great.
So, is Lionel going to be a good guy now? How can they do that to us? Though it would be cool if Lionel moves toward the light while Lex goes down the dark road.
Cyb, I caught that too, "When I was Kal-El..." When aren't you Kal-El, moron?
I think he thinks of himself as Clark Kent, not Kal-El.

Oct 28, 2004 @ 1:47 am
Wow. That was pretty great, and the whole episode just made me realize that TW is being really limited by the way Clark is written- he can act just fine. By the way, now it seems really sad that Clark is written as such a complete idiot cause TW could make a smarter Clark Kent. When I think of the movies (cause I haven't read the comics) Clark Kent is really smart just pretending to be dumb around everyone, so I suppose he's just channelling his 16 yr old self huh.
Ok the theory about Lionel marrying Martha and thus Lex hating Clark more was crazy!! If that happened.. wow! I did miss the first fifteen minutes but I take it that Lionel pretended to say I love you to Lex in order to exchange bodies with Lex? Yeah, if after this Clark starts to believe that Lionel has changed (and Lex will not understand why the hell Clark would, leading him to think the body switch did something eviiil to Clark).. craziness could ensue. Because the way I see, if Lionel remembers, what the hell can he do? I mean, he knows how powerful Clark is- speed, strength, eye..powers, the rest of it, he might just not want to mess with Clark. Now that he knows Clark could kill him for sure no matter what he does. (He doesn't know about Kryptonite, although he could try and find out what hurts Clark, and that could be another plot line) .. but Clark believing the good in Lionel will reallly piss of Lex huh.
Also, Lana, shut up.
Chloe- I thought she would catch on when Clark said 'Miss Sullivan', well that something was wrong. I mean, these people are crazy. Just recently she was running after Clark, trying to kill Lana blahblah and now she sees Clark act just soooooo strange and she doesn't investigate??????? Thats just stupid. Unless she's going to start catching on slowly to why Lionel wanted to know about Clark- which I truly believe she should have figured out by now.
Hand hurts. Good ep folks. Smallvilles actually looking good this season.

after tonight's episode though, makes you wonder if that is what pushes chloe to the drak side. Tonight she was essentially completely turned on and washed away by "clark" after she let her gaurd down (all this happened in a matter of seconds), and then just when she was about to fully embrace the make-out session--he pulls away--and kicks the shit out of her heart.
I'm also surprised she didn't investigate after the Miss Sullivan statement. its very unlike clark.
And then end of the episode--she was dead serious--no more bullshit clark. Unfortunately this episode is the only episode where what she said about it being the same person deep down was untrue. I believe Clark and Kal are the same person (yeah i realize how dumb that sounds) so he can't say he wasn't himself when he's been Kal. but this time he truley wasn't himself.
but anyway, she's been with kal before. just wish she remembered it. *sigh*

Yea, it all goes back to the whole split identity thing. It's also a mention that Clark has yet to acknowledge that he's Kryptonian at heart. He is trying harder than ever before to be "kansas farmboy", and failing miserably at it.
Damnit, I want them to hit on the fact that Clark is truly alone in the world, it's an essential facet of his character to be PROUD of his Kryptonian heritage.
I am Kal-El, Son of Jor-el! Huzzah...

Pretty much in agreement with everything that’s been said so far. Clark-as-Lionel was hot. Lex shouldn’t have pinned down the asking for money part of it all as the point when he knew it wasn’t Clark he was dealing with. Because, well, who is he kidding?
I almost died laughing when Lex pulled a gun on him at the end though. Funniest smallville moment ever.
Word to this. I choked on my iced tea then hated myself moments later for cheering at the Clex hug since I still hate Clark. Eh, it’s a weakness.
It was funny how Chloe and Lana tag-teamed it at the end. I love to see Clark get reamed these days.
Lana this season? Total, intentional bitch. Not a sweet bone left in her body. And she's still boring.
supercool
Oct 28, 2004 @ 2:18 am
I just wanted to chime in with the Lana hate.
Lana was, well, typical. I loved that she was indignant at getting no reaction from Clark about her and Jason. She really wanted him to be mad or jealous, and worked at it. Another believable thing, but especially fun watching Liark’s facial responses to her. “This one again” indeed.
Total agreement on this one. She was totally digging for a more hurt reaction from "Clark" in the barn. Way to rub his face in it for Christ's sake. Secondly, Lana, you are seventeen, you are not a freakin adult. I know you think you are because you ran the Talon all by yourself and you give advice to 40 something married women but you aren't. End of story.
P.S. Would someone mind recapping what happened after nervous guy got in the car with MK. My tape cut out at that point.
