YKYOWVM when you wake up in the morning on Tuesday and the first clear thought you have is "Veronica Mars" is on tonight.

YKYOWVM when you wake up in the morning on Wednesday and the first clear thought you have is "Veronica Mars" isn't on for another week. And then you're sad. But then you look forward to getting into work so you can see how it did in the ratings.

You Know You're Obsessed with Veronica Mars when:

Smallville is ruined for you because the adorable, flippy blonde-haired girl doesn't get any good lines, doesn't get to solve the mysteries, and doesn't get any action.

(But then again, I was pissed off about that way before VM.)

YKYOWVM when you compare other shows with completely disparate plots and completely divergent methods of storytelling to the zip of VM dialogue, plots and characterization. And don't even get me started on the characters and acting. Jonathan, Dino and Ben on LAWKI ain't no Duncan, Logan and Troy is all I'm saying.

YKYOWVM when the preview for next week are barely over and you are halfway to your computer to log in TwoP to talk in the Forums.

YKYOWVM when you wake up Wednesday thinking "Is it almost Tuesday yet?"

YKYOWVM when you spend an embarrassing amount of time and energy trying to convert family and friends to the show. When one of them innocently remarks that she didn't end up seeing Tuesday's episode as she had planned, you irrationally respond: "What? WHAT? But you promised! You'd BETTER not be a Neilson family, or else..."

YKYOWVM when you're already checking on-line for information about the DVDs and we're just four episodes into the series!

YKYOWVM when watching this show starts you thinking for the first time post-Buffy that there may actually be a show out there (this one!) that you'll become as obsessed with as you are/were w/ BtVS!

YKYOWVM when you realize that your stupid local UPN station is going to air a basketball game next week and your TIVO shows no rescheduling of the showing. You then immediately fire up the computer to send off a scathing email to said local station and UPN national.

Damn I'm pissed.

When you compare VM to the Rockford Files, so your grandparents will watch.

When you get caught off-guard on a conference call because you were posting your latest VM speculation, instead of listening to the call.

When you post a totally VM-pimping post to message boards that have nothing to do with television, complete with reviews and links to the UPN site in the hopes of increasing ratings.

I can see the Rockford part, except that Kristin Bell has a nicer figure than James Garner. And she hasn't been forced to move into a motor home on the beach yet. And she's not an ex-con, although she's potentially a future con if one of her little operations goes very wrong.

How about YKYOWVM when you don't obsess on how annoying the incessant media comparisons to Buffy are because you hope it may bring in enough viewers to put off cancellation.

YKYOWVM when you are in Europe and on Wednesday afternoon you come home from work, turn on your computer, start the episode download and then procede to stare at it until it's done, while begging it to be just a bit faster...please.

I have never been so seriously obsessed with a show. My friends and family are starting to think I'm a spy for UPN. I just randomly bring up VM into conversation, no matter what the topic is. "What do you want to eat?" "Veronica Mars, tuesdays at 9pm." I should be getting money for all the promotion of the show I'm doing.

What's even worse is that I'm even considering writing fan fic. The last time I did that was for Dawson's Creek and I was 13! I feel so shameful but I don't care. This show is just that good!

YKYOWVM when you look in the tv guide and look at what UPN has scheduled and breathe a sigh of relief to VM in its regular time while all other networks are covering the elections.

YKYOWVM when in the commercials, you see an ad for an appearance that the VM cast is going to make at a mall in Washington on the weekend, and you actually seriously consider driving down there from Vancouver, when you have three term papers to be working on.

YKYOWVM when as soon as the show's credits start rolling, you run over to this forum to get the viewer's reaction, then check the recaps to get Couch Baron's reaction, and then you keep checking Veronica's Desktop to get "her" reaction.

YKYOWVM when it's 8am Wednesday and you have already seen last night's episode 3 times.

YKYOWVM when you have recurring nightmares that the show will be put on PH on TWoP.
