In their defense, many hot climate golf courses are Bermuda grass or Poa. For most Bermuda grass courses, it's requested that you NOT replace divots. The grass heals by new shoots creeping back over the divot. The divot just dies, so replacing it would block the new grass from creeping in. Often the divot just explodes since there's so little soil to hold it together. Some courses provide a little bottle of sand and seed-mix on the cart.
Most courses will state how to handle the divot question.
I think there was a sign saying to replace them. Gotta love the camera men - everytime they did something - the camera men showed a sign saying not to do it. They drive across the grass - the show the sign "Stay on the cart path" they drive down the dirt road they show the sign "no carts beyond this point"

Jessica's 'bunny face' was almost identical to Emily Tye's 'fishy face'. Since Jessica has the maturity level of a 4 year old that's just right.

*small voice* I loved Jess's bunny face too. Instead of trying so hard to be funny, she actually was this time. And you've all said it very well, and I have to agree, Pa Simp gets creepier every time I see him. At first you can blame editing, quotes taken out of context, etc. But the shirtless incident? That would probably be more interesting. What is with all these girls getting married so young? I'm only 21 and don't feel rushed to get married. I have the rest of my life for that. On another note, anyone think Britney's finance is really skeevy looking?

I couldn't even imagine having to try to walk down the street and have people standing that close to you snapping your picture. Why can't they just ask to take a picture and then leave?
And I had to give Jessica credit, her major complaint was the annoyance of *continued* shooting. When they left the store she said something like, "I don't understand; they got their shot, how many more pictures of this do they need?"
She seems to understand and accept she'll be photographed, it's the fact that it goes on constantly that irks (like the guy in the cellphone shop: click. click. click. click. click. ad nauseum)

Looking, acting, you name it the guy sounds like a total scumbag.(Heh, I havent used that phrase since I was in HS)
I kind of always rooted for Jess in the Britney/Jess/Christina wars because I always thought she got the short end of the stick, now I would love for her to get her comeuppance and get cast aside once again in favor of Britney. If anyhting, it would at least speed up the divorce process and get Nick out of there that much faster.

And acting. Apparently, he left his ex for Britney while the ex is still pregnant with her and Kevin's second child. I just think that people like Jessica, for example, criticize Britney to no end but Britney has been incredibly successful and it seems like she gets very little enjoyment out of it. All the pictures of her lately show her smoking, drinking, depressed and just basically looking very unhappy. Its a shame, she really seems like a sweet girl.
On Topic: I think that in Jessica and Nick's case, they got married because they had been together for 4 years (and he probably was ready to get it on already). But in a lot of cases (like Britney's) I think they are just looking for some permanency in a lifestyle where everyone (and everything) around them is pretty fake.
ETA: I am in my early 20's and couldn't be less interested in getting married right now. I also think that a lot of people take the responsibility way too lightly.

Topless sunbathing is just... just... WTF kind of family is this?!
ITA! And why did the dad keep talking about it! He was obviously very happy he got some sort of pleasure out of it. And if his wife is as frigid as Jessica, then that is the most he has seen for a LONG time!
Maybe I missed a thread about it, but did anyone hear how Nick sounded when he said they went to Palm Springs along with Jessica's family? He totally sounded like he was disapointed! But I would be too! Where is his family?
I was SO excited that Drew made a cameo! But where was Leah!?
As for the paparazzi thing, while it is sad and kinda scary, Jessica chose that life! She could have been......I don't know. What can she do?

This can be the problem at any age. Personally speaking I was married at 22 and MrD was 23, but we had the mindset of getting married and being married. We didnt do it for the party or for the bragging rights, we did it because we were both ready to be married. We just celebrated our 5 year anniversary in Dec, beating the odds and I'm sure all our families secret bets, so I dont think its just the young age that causes so many divorces. I also disagree that you should wait until you are in your 30's, because you could make the argument that women in their 30's become so desperate and despaired at the thought of a life alone that they marry whoever asks first. There really is no set time, it should be whenever you feel like you want to and are ready, hell, if you dont feel like you're ready until you're in your 50's, so be it. Have a great party, wear white and live happily ever after, your age should have nothing to do with it.
On topic:I am also wondering why the police are not summonsed to their home if people are trespassing. If those little kids on their scooters were hurt on their property I have no doubt that the parents would sue N&J toot sweet.

I think that in Jessica and Nick's case, they got married because they had been together for 4 years (and he probably was ready to get it on already).
I think that if Nick wanted to get it on, he could have gone to anybody. I believe that message that he let Drew listen to was some girl offering to do him. I think that they got married because they were in love. That's a pretty big step to take just to have sex with someone. Weren't there stories on the bigger thread that said that there was oral sex going on with them? If so, then he wasn't completely deprived during their courtship.
But Papa Perv has control over the editing. Anything he didn't like would be gone.
Which leads me to believe that he's clueless as to how he comes off on TV. I think that the regular producers enjoy making him look like a perv.
On Britney:
I think the 'sweet girl next' door thing has always been an act, just an image used to sell herself.
ITA. But I also think that what she's doing now is an act as well. She's trying to be the next Madonna. As for her skeevy hubby-to-be, I think he's shady, but according to her People article, she persued him. Anything that happens to her is her own fault. But I hope they do become the next Newlyweds. Wouldn't it be cool to see Niecy come over and make Brit and Kev babysit. The baby-mama-drama would be way more interesting than anything N&J ever did.

I agree that N&J are in love. I think that holding off on sex says a lot about their commitment to one another, what I meant in my earlier post was that in their particular case, I think it was just time. Age really does not have anything to do with it.

I would LOVE to see Newlyweds: Britney and Kevin simply because MAJOR STAR and dancer marriages don't seem to work. Look at Janet and Rene or J.Lo and Chris (I'm really upset that I remembered their names). The show would last ONE season and it would be near impossible to find anything redeeming in the relationship(show). At least with Nick and Jessica I can ogle Nick and revel in his near normalcy in the face of Jessica's existence (which includes parental smothering).

I don't mean to get too OT so I won't post a link, but at LaunchYahoo there is an article on Britney and her engagment. The whole thing sounds so spur of the moment, I cannot imagine how little time it will take to dissolve. Despite their many arguments and the fact that I think Nick is way too good for her, I think they will last simply based on the amount of thought they put into their marriage. Hollywood marriages usually don't last, but I can't think of two other stars that were as careful as Nick and Jess were before they said their vows.

I watch Celebrities Uncensored all the time, and I used to wonder what the big deal was. So what if a few (well, a bunch, sometimes) people want to take your picture IN PUBLIC? You WANTED to be a celebrity – if you don’t want to be famous, DON’T be in movie, put out an album, be on magazine covers, etc… I always kinda felt that the obscene amounts of money that most celebrities seem to make is worth the hassle of dealing with paparazzi.
After watching it from the “celebrity’s” point of view, I feel kinda bad. I’m not sure it would be worth the money to have people show up on my doorstep to say “hi” to the camera (wtf!?), or be asked to leave a store because some idiot is following me (uninvited) and taking picture after picture (I could be wrong, but I thought that’s what happened in the clothing store they were in?). The guy on the chair at the cell phone place was just creepy, imho.
Don’t get me wrong, I ~STILL~ think celebs get paid WAY too much money, but I guess I can concede that the paparazzi is a pain in the ass (or worse) to deal with. (On the OTHER other hand, I’m also a photographer, though I’m not making any money from it right now, and I guess those guys, as well as the staffs at US and the Star need to eat somehow….Gaah, I’m conflicted on this issue!)
Not to mention: a) she's never even been in a Hooter's and b) did she forget the hoochie dance she did for Nick's birthday, in front of her family and friends?
Oh, no! See, she didn't get PAID to do that, so it's PERFECTLY acceptable. so NOT like those brazen hussies at Hooters. Not. At. ALL.
I want to hang out with Nick - he's so normal, at least compared to Her. I feel exactly the same way about Hooters/Strippers (knew a few at school. Hell, if I had the body ~I'd~ strip - they make a hell of a lot more money than I do...) I was most annoyed at the fact that Jess just didn't get the comparison between her Blender cover and working at Hooters, or the way Nick pointed out that she and Xtina do the "same" thing for a living, and they are NOT the same type of person. She is really ignorant, not just ditzy-in-a-cute-way like they want us to believe. And she seems to be OKAY with that - "No thanks, no learn-ding for me! I don't want to open my mind to the possibility that other people DON'T have every thing handed to them - it's just not possible, so anyone who shows booby for money (BESIDES me, silly!) is a SLUT! Ick!"
At least I learned that prostitutes ALWAYS stand on street corners, so a gold-digger cannot be a hooker be default. Whew - I guess I can start looking for rich guys to date without worry, then!

Last season they spent Christmas eve and Christmas day with her family and were only with his family before Christmas. I totally disagree with the whole "well you put yourself out there because your are a celebrity" as a way to excuse the behavior of paparazzi. For the majority of those in the entertainment field they are just like you and me, they have families, they have lives at home, they poop and fart just like the rest of us do so just because they act in some movie that gives people the right to hound them endlessly and take pictures, to follow them constantly in traffic? No it doesn't. A very dear friend of mine is a professional football player in the NFL and when he's not on the field he comes home and sits around a table with his friends and family, says grace and eats a homecooked meal just like before he made it in the NFL. A very famous country artist has a winter home where I live because he loves to hunt and he is just as normal as anyone else. His wife is a former model/beauty queen and she goes to the grocery store in t-shirts and shorts and no makeup just like the rest of the world does. They are no different than anyone else they just have a different job. You know people who work at McDonald's are in a public job so does that mean they could be hounded day and night and it would be justified? No. It's just a job nothing special and while some of them have big heads-Paris Hilton, Madonna, etc not all of them do and they deserve to have just as much privacy as the cashier at McDonalds has. The only reason paparazzi acts the way the do about celebrities is because the American people think they have to know everything about their lives and will pay for it via Star, Enquirer, etc. How would we like it if we were treated that way? We wouldn't.

I felt really bad as Jess was being followed around by the stalker-azzi, but I also remembered that you often see her buying/reading Star/US/People magazine. These magazines feed the paparazzi machine by paying for all of those "candid" celebrity moments. She certainly seems to enjoy reading about other celebs, but complains when they invade her space.

See, I'm not at all. I agree that the paparazzi are horrible, unrelentless, unmerciful and so on. But I have not one shred of sympathy for the celebrities that have to suffer them, with the exceptions being at times of birth, illness and death.
If Jessica wanted celebrity, and we all know she desperately did, then now that she has it she's gonna have to take the bitter with the sweet. I can't stand celebs that whine about the hassles of fame. [whiny voice] "Yes, I wanna be rich and famous and get freebies and accolades but I don't wanna be bothered when I'm not in the moooooood. Word, squirrelyQ. A few weeks ago I was watching a big event that was happening, just coincidentally, in my neighborhood. There were celebrities and other public figures attending, and I could see them arrive and depart from my windows (of course I was watching!). I especially noticed when one "famous" couple arrived and a paparazzi-type photog ran over to them, took lots of shots, and then ran ahead of them to turn around and take more shots, several times. He was in their faces the whole time.
I know that photogs take many shots to get just the right one, but it seemed so totally intrusive and annoying. Snap a few photos and move on, ok. But the way that paparazzi hound people must get so tiresome. No celebrity agrees to sign their privacy away just because they want to be famous and recognized for their talent or skills. (Although, yes, some use the paprazzi --stand up Madonna -- and some probably die inside when no one notices them anymore.) Also, even if you're famous, you don't always want to be stared at in public or treated as if you're the entertainment when you're just trying to eat a meal or asked for an autograph when you're walking with a friend. (And why the hell do so many people want autographs, for gah's sake? Autographs are stupid!).
The other thing to think about is how often "private" citizens who just happen to be caught up in a big news event (like a family member getting murdered or something) get harassed by these same photogs who are just out to sell a photo to the highest bidder. As long as people want to watch celebrities, the paparazzi will have jobs.
Then again, yeah, Jess probably has a subscription to all the tabloids and the "celebrity gossip" magazines, although she would never understand the irony in that.

Unless that celebrity signs on to do a reality show on MTV to boost their career, and Jessica never really seems to care about anyone recognizing her talent or skills. She wants to be famous for being dumb. She just wants to be a star and have lots of money to spend.
There are actors and musicians who take their work seriously and become successful based on their talent and dedication. They don't deserve to be hounded by paparazzi. However, those who owe their entire career and success to being in the limelight to make up for their lack of talent have no right to complain about it.

When it really comes down to it, there is no "right to privacy". I mean, it's not in the constution or anything. So where does your right to take someone's picture become a violation of their civil rights? I think the photographers take precautions not to touch anyone, so if you're on a street corner in public you're fair game.
And I absolutely believe Nick and Jessica asked for this attention, and would be very unhappy if no one was interested in taking their picture. Well, maybe not Nick so much. How does Jessica think she's earning all this money that they go out and spend??

Which reminds me, I love those editors. Showing a trashbag full of beer(?) bottles, as Jessica is talking about the greatest Easter ever. So, that's how SuperChristians celebrate Easter. Great witness, you freaks.
It's been mentioned that Jessica's parents never taught her not to put partially eaten pickles back in the jar. Adding to the list: They also never taught her to cover her mouth when she yawns. That's a biggie, folks.
Regarding the photographers: I'm surprised there's so much interest in her. That was quite a crowd assembled where she was shopping, and the car chase. Is Jessica really this big a star?
Also, I don't manage a retail store, but if I did, I'd call the police to get the paparazzi out of my f-ing store! That guy wasn't a customer himself, and he was harassing a customer. Why didn't they take charge and run that guy out... like the boutique people did.

Okay in truth, I do too. But do I feel it enough that I think the paparazzi should be curtailed with some new law so that the celebs can live more hassle free. No. Suck it up or get out of the game.
There are actors and musicians who take their work seriously and become successful based on their talent and dedication. They don't deserve to be hounded by paparazzi.
You are absolutely right and I know of many
very successful bands that are defintely not harassed in any way. Not even by adoring fans. There is a band for example, called Fugazi. They are known and appreciated
worldwide. But because they do not cater in any way to the fame game, they are not hounded at all. Are they rich? No, but they make a decent living from their art. Many major labels wanted them but they never even considered it. Celebrity and riches has never been their goal. I'm not saying anyone that signs to a major label is a money grubbing famewhore but a lot of them are and they get all that comes with it. So you know, too bad for them. There
are other alternatives.
And as far as actors, look at Meryl Streep, for example. Is she hounded? No.
Sorry about the rant but I feel very strongly about this issue.

I am appalled at the number of people who think that Jess is "getting what she asked/signed up for." NOBODY deserves that level of invasion, regardless of what they do or how famous they wanted to become. She wanted to sing and become a star, so what? That makes it okay for complete strangers to follow them around constantly snapping pictures of them while they are shopping for a new cell phone or trying to eat a meal at a restaurant? Strangers even coming up to their front door and relentlessly ringing their cell phones? To say that that's what you get and if you didn't want to deal with that, then you should have chosen a different career path is ridiculous. Yes, some level of photo-snapping and autograph-seeking is to be expected. NOT that level of invasion, though. It's disgusting and I thought that Jessica handled it much, much better than I could have. I would have snapped and flipped them the bird and spouted out a string of expletives, I think. She was able to rise above that sort of behavior. I can see how some more temperamental celebs (Sean Penn, Chris Martin) are pushed to the point of breaking cameras, etc.
And what is with the numerous posts about them being Christian but still, horror of horrors, consuming alcohol? The two are mutually exclusive? I don't think so. You can be a Christian and curse occasionally and drink beer - it's ridiculous the standard that these people are being held up to.
The pickle thing seems to be garnering a strong reaction, too. I saw that and laughed. Sure, that kind of thing wouldn't fly in my household, but then again this is a family that sunbathes topless together. I hardly think that a pickle spear with a bite taken out of it is going to be the end of the world to these folks.
Re: the Hooters/strippers debate - first off, the two are not the same. Hooters girls wear clothes at work. They might be skimpy short shorts and tight tank tops, but they are covered. Strippers take off their clothes and dance naked so that men (and women) will give them money. I don't think the two are the same thing. And Nick's big defense was kind of shot down when he emphatically stated that he would NOT want his daughter to enter those lines of work. However, if a celebrity is to be expected to deal with stalkerazzi as a result of the line of work that they choose to enter into, then shouldn't it also be said that a stripper should have to deal with the judgements that come along with that profession as well? Jessica is hardly the first person to pass judgement on a stripper and certainly won't be the last. That said, no - there isn't a huge difference between that and her Blender cover and Nick had a good point bringing that up. The statement about marrying rich, though, was completely stupid.

Hooters Girls are paid an hourly rate of $2.13 an hour, plus tips. Tips are based solely on their individual performance and amount of hours worked. Gender neutral positions will pay a higher hourly rate, depending on prior experience and location

Not to get nitpicky, but the bible is filled with references to wine. On of the most popular readings (at least among catholics) is the Wedding at Callah, where Jesus changed water to wine. Praise be the lord! We can keep drinking at the wedding, with good wine too!! So I dont find her drinking to be hypocritical. I find "amoral": her utter unawareness of other people, her superficiality, her lack of spirituality, her lack of compassion that people have all sorts of jobs to make ends meet (like hooters, even though I know a lot of people work there wilingly), her lack of compassion towards her husband, her materialism, the way she maliciously makes fun of Nick, the way she assumes she will be catered to by maids and peons wherever she goes, her provocative Magazine covers. I find those things to be muchmore hypocritical of her christian faith. ANd Im not even getting into that whole weird relationship with her father. And
Nana's ghost, you beat me to it.
Hooters Girls are paid an hourly rate of $2.13 an hour, plus tips. Tips are based solely on their individual performance and amount of hours worked.
All servers get paid $2.13, at most standard restaurants. Hotels dont count. That's why you are supposed to tip teh waiter 15% or more, the restaurant is paying zilch. Its standard procedure.

please. I respectfully disagree. Just because Nick knows that working at Hooters doesn't make you a bad person doesnt mean he wants his daughter working there. Its different when its your own kid. I am sure my brother, who while he didnt mind my sister in law working there for some extra money, will probably not want my neice working there. Maybe I'm the crazy one but it makes sense to me.
I don't have a problem with drinking, and I don't think it has anything to do with christian. Although I do know many christians who preach against it. Plus Jessica always said she would never drink. I know people change their minds, but Jessica is like the definition of a hypocrite, like Nick proved last night, so everything adds up.

It makes sense to me. Parents generally want their kids to be as well off or better than themselves. Nick also made the point that several of the Hooters girls are paying their way through school. I'm sure he wants to provide for his children's educations. And what father wants his daughter to have a job where men may ogle her? (BigGayPaSimpson excluded, of course) Sure, that can happen anywhere, but Hooter's main attraction is not the wings, whatever they might say.

Ex-waitress/bartender here to say that it depends on the state you live in. In California, minimum wage is something like $6.25 an hour. If you are a waitress, you will make this plus your tips. In other states (Colorado comes to mind), $2.13 an hour is what you'll make since TPTB think you'll make up for it with your tips.

I agree too!
Here in NJ, $2 and change is min. wage for waitresses, but if you work in a store or such place I believe its well over $6. When I waitressed my boss said it was because you dont have to declare all your tips for your taxes, so they pay less to make up for the percentage that isnt declared. Something like that, I think. Could be way off base though. I waitressed a long time ago.
ETA: I think this episode may have been a bit of an exaggeration due to the fact that in next weeks promo she and KC are standing in the middle of a parking lot with nary a person around. I dont doubt that she is photographed, but probably not to the extent they made it out to be. They showed a bunch of those people in the car chase scene and no one was weilding a camera. The one guy looked like he was picking his nose, not really paparazzi protocall, I would think they'd make the snot wait.

Me too
verucasalty! I love their wings, I'm a girl and I go to Hooters and take no shame in that. However I do try to get there before their peak hours when all the guys start coming in. One time when I arrived at Hooters there was a group of senior citizens (men and women) eating dinner there (I guess Denny's was full?). They didn't seem all that bothered by the women in skimpy shorts and tight shirts; most of the senior citizens were eating the wings too.
ETA- I just saw the pickle incident everyone was talking about, it made no sense to me. She took one pickle and took a bite out of it, then put it on her hamburger. She then goes and reaches for another pickle, takes a bite out of it, and puts it back. It doesn't bother me that she put the second pickle back (though I know she's with family and it's probably accepted in their "clan", I still think it's gross, she should do what I do when I don't want to eat something anymore, give it to my brother or my dad, they're more than happy to eat my leftovers), what bothers me is why she did it in the first place. Did she think that by tasting the second pickle it would taste different then the first?

I am very curious to know if they ever spend a holiday with Nick's family.
They spent X-mas with Nick's family in Ohio. But her friends and family definitely get more camera time. Maybe the Lachey's (outside of Drew) aren't into being on camera as much since they are not part of the entertainment industry and they don't seem to live in the same state.
I am enjoying part 2 of this season. I still do not understand why Cacee has to be in every episode. Free food, free rides, rent free and now free Lasik.
The show has made a nice rebound. I don't think they are in Osborne territory just yet.
Can someone explain why one of the most popular shows on this forum was prematurely ph'd and relagated to "Other Shows" status.
