Why do these magazines (especially In Touch) always trying to sugarcoat this sham of a marriage? Its like every week, they're trying to put a happy face on their marriage
Actually, Us Weekly has been proclaiming their divorce for the past few weeks now. No longer are they trying to suck up to Jessica; now, in every article about the "split," they blame the collaspe on the marriage on Jessica.

Did anyone happen to catch AssLee and Papa Simpo (I mean Sicko) on Larry King the other night (interviewed by that supreme tool Ryan Seacrest) - he was full of way too many details about Jessica and Nick's romantic trip to Italy - that PR machine just keeps on trucking - here is the transcript - the Joe Simpson part is about halfway down the interview:

From Joe's interview:
They're still together, they're together at their house right now.
They haven't been in that house since the reality series wrapped right? Nick is living on his own.
Funny!

I think her CD was pushed back because the tracks that leaked sounded like shit. Really bad. Like.Hot.Garbage.
Part of me thought that Jessuka was waiting to release her next album so she wouldn't be competing with Asshat Simpson for sales, but then I read this:
My friend interns for Columbia Records...it was pushed back because her shit sucks.
And I guess, there you have it.
Also, why have Jessuka and Asshat both felt the need to bleach their hair to the point that it's dead? Sweeties, the Lindsay Lohan look is not attractive. Gwen Stefani can get away with this look, but you two can't.

There's an interview with Nick in the Star. Assuming it's legit, he claims everything is fine and the trip to Italy was an early Anniversary celebration. Then they reported that people who observed them said they weren't really smiling or looking at each other.
The end is here for DoH. Number 68 over the weekend, down to playing on only 94 screens. Everything below it is limited release or art house playing in 20 screens or less. In fact the movie ranked 69 is in 4 theaters with a per screen average of $5433 vs. DoH's $254. It will probably hit DVD in a month.

The DVD comes out in December. BoxOffice Mojo is reporting that it cost $50M not including marketing and has made $106M.
With the bad reviews. lawsuits and negative press it probably should not have made that much. I thought it would be a flop.

But they also had to pay $17 million to the people who owned the idea. A bit over $80 million in the States, with $26 million being the foreign box office. It's performed below expectations and can be considered a disappointment, but not a complete flop. Sadly. The magic number is $100 million for this kind of thing, in domestic gross. That it can't even get half the US take when you add up the rest of the world, is not good. Unless it explodes in video sales, no movie executives will be beating a path to her door.

I don't think movie execs would be beating down her door even if it DOH grossed one billion. And it is time someone realized that Knoxville and the other dude suck too. Of the three she is the only one talking sequel. The other two admitted the movie sucked.
When she went on the media blitz for the movie all she talked about was how she didn't need an acting coach and how good she looked in a pair of shorts and her workout plan. I bet she hasn't taken one acting lesson and probably isn't planning on it.
I could see her being in plenty of movies if she is in little to no clothing. Other than that I don't know what studio would take her seriously.
Creepy and Co. like to throw out names like Reese and Goldie when referring to Jessica. How about Jenny and Carmen. Because that is the kind of acting career she will have.

ET covered a photo shoot of Jessica and Ashlee for the cover of Teen People. No mention of her marraige, but Jess says she's been in therapy. She feels many people used her and took advantage of her over the last year and she's very upset about it. No acknowledgement that the one using her the most is her creepy father. I wonder if the therapist told her to let go of her inhibitions or something along those lines; it would partly explain her descent into partying and skankitude.

I have a co-worker who told me that her old college roommate went to high school with Jessica Simpson. THe roommate was reportedly really sweet and never cussed or said anything bad about anyone. However, when Jessica Simpson was brought up she would completely change. She said Jessica was always very stuck up and treated people like they were beneath her. Jessica thought her shit didn't stink and that she was the prettiest girl around. Big Surprise!!!

First off, I grudgingly tip my hat to any charity work anyone does. With that being said, this isn't the International Operation Smile Week That Can Only Happen on October 26th in Kenya event. Why couldn't they have gone one week earlier or later so she could spend her anniversary with her husband.
Check out Operation Smile's
calendar. It sort of is. I doubt they schedule their events around the Simpson/Lachey marriage.

Of course OK magazine will have the real story, Joe Simpson told it to them DUH!!
As far as her charity crap, I don't care what the calendar says, it is really funny that now, this year, she suddenly has to go, when she has hardly spent anytime with Nick since the summer. That sham trip to Italia doesn't count.

So from Vermicious Knid's post on the prior page, last week ET was reporting that Jessica was seeing a therapist because "She feels many people used her and took advantage of her over the last year and she's very upset about it." Quite understandable, actually. Now, suddenly, the story has changed and she's seeing a therapist due to the trauma of the rumors about her very healthy and happy marriage. Daddy Spin-son thinks we're so stupid that they can give two contradictory reasons for her therapy within several days of each other, and we'll just believe whatever story he wants us to believe. Haaaate!
Actually, if she's seeing a therapist to deal with her real problem -- that her parents control ever aspect of her life and and destroying her ability to become an adult and also her marriage -- I have to give her credit for taking control of her own life.

I honestly can't stand Jessica anymore, and am not thrilled with Nick either. However, I do wish these two crazy kids would work things out and just be happy together. I really liked them together on the first season of Newlyweds. Granted, I thought they had a lot to learn about marriage, but they were newlyweds. I had hope for them. I thought they were a cute couple, and actually found Jessica's ditziness refreshing. It was after the fame took over that I started to find her unbearable. I really think they both need counseling. Once Jessica's bout of fame is over (and it WILL be sooner or later) I think they will be happy to have eachother, like they did in the beginning.

Stick a fork in it, it's done. Yes, The Duke of Hazzard is officially closed for business. Final domestic tally of $80,270,227, foreign receipts of $29,700,000. That ends up as almost $110 million worldwide. They had to have expected about twice that. Be prepared for an ad blitz when the DVD comes out as they will be trying hard to make up the shortfall with sales.

I can't stand Billy Bush, but I happened to catch this and I have to give him props for having the balls to include all the interruptions from off camera shutting him down. Jessica is now controlled by her publicists in addition to her father? Just proves the woman has no mind. And showing all that mocks the situation in a major way, unusual for show that relies on celebrities for it's existence. They're obviously not afraid of loosing access to her.

I came across it by accident, and it was indeed interesting. I don't know much about Billy Bush, but his questions didn't seem to be crossing any sorts of lines; just typical entertainment show stuff. His blog entry about the whole thing is pretty interesting; he actually gets in some digs at Jessica and how she came to fame. And not unexpectedly, Papa Simpson was on his ass as soon as the interview was over.

Billy Bush usually annoys me but I thought his views on the interview were right on. Especially when talking about Pa Simpson:
"On the drive home, I received an e-mail from her father blasting me for being 'untruthful' and breaking a deal he made with our producers. I checked with our producers and they told me they had agreed to pass on Simpson Management's concerns. I took them into account and resolved to make sure I handled things respectfully and gently.
I responded to him with this, and he then fired back that "your actions speak to my character." My response, this time, was quite stern in defense of my character, and I noted his "tremendous financial interest in your daughter's marriage - as a PUBLIC enterprise"..."

Who knew I'd love Billy Bush just a little bit? Odd.
Any thoughts on if they'll show up at VHi's Big in '05 show at the end of the year? Part of me thinks NO because they didn't do too much this year (besides the god-forsaken DoH movie) and they don't really have anything to promote. That and the fact that they can't stand each other.
Another part of me thinks YES because these quasi-award shows are the stuff Jess lives for. Plus VH1 has some pretty shitty taste these days and kissing ass to the Simpson clan seems like something they would do. Finally, I think they'll be there together because I want them to break up so damn bad and I'm never ever that lucky.

I loved Billy Bush's interview simply because they allowed all the interruptions to come in. Watching Jessica sit there and say "I have to listen to my peeps." after the umpteenth interview was just fabulous, lol. Her peeps.
And I agree with what Billy posted in his blog - Jessica Simpson would still be stuck in C-list celeb land had it not been for Newlyweds. She invited all the world to see her marriage - it is only natural that people want to know what's going on with it.
I wish AccessHollywood would do more things like this and show us how these interviews really go.

As soon as Billy asked about the Operation Smile trip to Africa, I knew the off-screen publicist would shut it down.
