I dislike Jessica, but her attaching her name to plus-size jeans doesn't bother me.
What does bother me is the crappy music she makes, and how people are actually buying it now just because of Newlyweds, and how her non-acting self is getting cast in movies.

Actually yes there is a need for fashionable jeans for plus size women. I am plus size and the jeans are just that-plain old jeans as in Just My Size jeans from Wal-Mart. No cutsie fashionable to them. However, I don't see how Jessica will know what works on plus size women since she's never been one.
Thanks

Reading that InTouch article: They have only been married two and a half years!? I really would have guessed it was nearly four (is their anniversary in October or ?). I mean, it's kinda obvious to say this, but they really seem to have been around forever.

They got married on October 28th, 2002. The only reason I know is because my husband and I got married on the same day in 2001. I hate that we have the same anniversary as them.

Must be a popular day for weddings. One of my brothers got married Oct 28, 2000 & the other is getting married Oct 28, 2006 (they set the date without realizing it was our other brother's anniv). They would both hate having the same anniversary as Nick & Jessucka too.
Oh and Ashlee's fugly dress at the DOH premiere? It was featured as a "winner" in People mag last week.

I don't freaking ever hear of other managers talking about how well endowed their clients are.
Word. Last time I checked that could be construed as fucking sexual harassment.
I watched the ETHS. Okay, so, when they showed the younger Jessica singing, she didn't seem to have the psycho jaw that much
I have a question. So, exactly how old was Jessucka when Aunt Connie, Tina's sister, proclaimed "She can really sing!" Because those sad ass videos of Jessucka singing in front of the Christmas tree were NOT GOOD. In fact, she sucked. And she had that scary man-face going on. I did think, on the other hand, that Asslee was really cute around 12/13 without the femullet and dark hair. She looked normal, and her face looked much more in proportion. Creepy Pa? I just don't even know what to say to you. Six showers after ETHS and I still don't feel clean. Does anyone else think that "Papa Joe Records" is a little too skeevy, not to mention ironic?
I read that and I swear I felt the universe collapse a little bit.
That was the tree in front of my house. It collapsed onto my already decrepid 1993 Grand Am. I'd sue Britney for it since previously she was lowest on the "low rent" totem pole, but Cletus has already cleaned her out so Jessucka will have to do.
Jessica Simpson is coming out with a new line of plus-size jeans which will be made in sizes 12 to 24 and be available in Avenue stores.
Um...WHAT?! The fuck? Since when was size 12, or even 14 "plus-size"? I know plenty of people that wear 12s and 14s who are NOT plus sized.
In conclusion, I went to see DOH this weekend. It wasn't my fault, my boyfriend made me because he loves Stiffler and Johnny McPunch Me In the Balls. My reaction? Ehh...it could have been worse. But not much. Jessucka was in it a total of like 10 minutes the whole movie...don't really know how she got billed as "star". And her accent was just terrible. Plus, there were no scenes of her driving the General Lee, which was weird because in E!THS, they mention that she had to learn how to drive the car for a few scenes. They must have cut a shitload of her performance out. But overall, the movie was pretty bad...I'd give it a 3 out of 10. If you cut out all the physical humor, there is no movie at all.

Weekend tally:
Last weekend's champion, "The Dukes of Hazzard" (Warner Bros.) fell to No. 3 with $13 million, taking its 10-day haul to $57.5 million. The southern comedy should hit $85 million, said Dan Fellman, president of domestic theatrical distribution at the Time Warner Inc.-owned studio.
It cost $53 million to make, with an additional $17.5 million paid in an out-of-court settlement to a group of people who held rights to the underlying "Dukes" TV show.
That also doesn't count the marketing costs, which means it should about scrape even in the US, hardly what you would call a hit.
Sadly

A rule of thumb is that a movie needs to bring in double it's original budget to be ahead of the game. That's about 106 million for Dukes,, think it will get there?

I was very bored this weekend, so I finally watched most of the E!THS. I could see pretty well through all the bullshit, so I wasn't too up in arms about that. One thing that stuck me as odd: Nick wasn't interviewed. He was interviewed as a part of her Driven episode on VH1, so it's not like he's opposed to shows like this.
My main theory is that he's continuing to distance himself from her in anticipation of their impending divorce. Much like his statement that "Jessica won't be appearing in [my] new reality show on MTV". Little by little, it's all falling apart.
Either that, or he wasn't invited by Papa Joe.

From what I read, which is admittedly not that much, it's because of all the car crashes. Films with lots of car chase scenes and car crashes are inherently expensive. I guess you have to have a lot of spare cars plus stunt people plus lots of insurance.
Plus, any scene with Jessica would have needed about 3 million takes.

I've never actually seen this reality show, but I did see "Dukes of Hazzard" and dammit, I enjoyed it. No big words, no discernably intelligent plot, just plain stupid fun. It's probably going to be a minor hit but no blockbuster. This summer has been a definite slump for almost all movies. But again, DOH is just an awesomely fun, goofy, silly movie.

I just meant that Cacee has gotten a bit of a celebrity make-over, when in reality she is just Jessica's assistant. Not the star herself. When she first started on the show, she had curly hair, and looked, well.., normal. On ETHS, she suffered from the malidy of those associated with celebrities that begin to think they themselves are being fawned over. The other people interviewed looked normal, put together for the interview, but with a normal amount of makeup and wat have you.
Minor pet peeve of mine.

I posted this ages ago but I don't think anyone read it then.
Onset DoH interview with Jess. Some choice tidbits;
Question: Why did you want this part?
Jessica Simpson: It was important for me to not go so far away from my persona and what people already knew me as and eventually I go there in acting but for my first role I just didn't want it to be too farfetched and I just thought it was an amazing character and I wasn't alive when Dukes of Hazzard was around (on TV), but I did see all the reruns and I'm from the South and the accent sort of came natural and it's something that as an all-American girl I wanted to keep.
Question: As an actress, what did you do to prepare for the role?
Jessica Simpson: I shoot on Thursday and I don't even know what my lines are so I'm better at just going in and sit in my hair and makeup trailer and while I'm getting my hair and makeup done, just memorizing my lines right there. That way I don't rehearse them too much and it doesn't sound like I'm acting and it's more on how I say it instead of thinking of when and where to say my lines. It gets too confusing and that's when I think it starts to look contrived.
Question: Do you get appreciated by young female fans?
Jessica Simpson: Especially when they come up with their mother. Their mother always thanks me for staying positive and putting good energy out there and being a good role model. That's probably the biggest comment I get and makes me want to continue to choose things that are inspirational for other people.
Question: What do you think is the biggest misconception about you?
Jessica Simpson: I'm definitely ditzy. People think that about me and that's okay with me, but I'm not that Anna Nicole Smith type. I definitely have my stuff together and I'm a very determined person who works really hard, and a lot of that gets lost in the chicken and tuna comments, but that's okay because it's done really well for me.
Question: You are testing the waters by acting in a part that is close to you. Where would you like to see things go? Where do you want to go as an actress?
Jessica Simpson: I want to do the romantic comedies; the stuff that Meg Ryan and Julia Roberts do of course, but I love movies that move you and make you cry. Whether it's a drama, I'm up for anything. I don't know if I would be good being some coked-up drug addict. I've never tried it and that would be hard to identify with, but maybe one day. You never know.

Ok, that line made me laugh out loud! Especially with all the stories going around about her coke habit. But, no, innocent little Jessica wouldn't possibly be able to identify with that kind of character.
I hope she doesn't get any more movie roles. It's bad enough she's on the cover of all my gossip mags and on TV everytime I turn it on. Go away, Jessica!

Dark Horizons also had an interview with Johnny Knoxville. Given the rumored relationship, it's fun to analyze this:
Johnny Knoxville: Jessica. She looks amazing. She's so pretty. And she looks so great on film. She's so natural and comfortable. I didn't realize until we shot the first day with her. We did a scene and she goes 'that was my first take ever'. I didn't realize it was her first film cause she's so natural and good. And gorgeous. She's been doing lots of squats betweens us fellas. Lots of squats.

That's funny, cause she clearly contradicts herself
"I'm not really into the deep drama roles," said Simpson, who takes her wholesome, blonde bombshell persona seriously and is on the lookout for comedy material.

Yep, she played herself- quite a stretch. I can't remember the plot exactly, she might have been kidnapped, I think? I can recall her sitting in the back of a limo, but that's about it. As you can tell, it was a very memorable performance.

Jessica and Nick are on the cover of Us Weekly again, only this time they're in the right corner. The article is mostly about Jessica and Nick fighting the divorce rumors, which I can't take seriosuly because Us Weekly dishes out the rumors themselves. It's just a bad attempt to suck up to Jessica, as they also gushed over about Jessica losing weight and that her movie debuted at number one.

Not sure, but he was a part of the
ESPN's Monday Night Countdown- Fantasy Draft Special last night. In the world of boys and sports, that is
definitely hanging out with the "cool kids" and great exposure if sports commentating is what he wants to do. Chris Berman and NFL Prime Time is widely considered as good as it gets in terms of football coverage.
I have no idea how he got the gig, but I thought he did a good job. He obviously knows quite a bit about football, and he was relaxed and actually pretty funny at times. Overall, I'm just happy he's doing something outside of the Simp Family Clutches. Hopefully this will start them down the path of "our careers just went in different directions", "we just grew apart", "and we will remain good friends" on the divorce press release.

I give them another 6 months, tops. Frankly, I'm amazed they've made it this long. Had they not done the MTV show, I don't think they would have. You could just see Nick's frustration with her grow and grow with each episode. (Or maybe I'm projecting. Hmmm...)
I hope they don't have kids - they need a clean break from each other, not to complicate things further.
I've always liked him. I admit it, I think he was hot, and even though they were the bastard boy-band group, I thought 98 degrees was aiight too. I hope he's able to salvage some sort of career once he & Jess are finally ovah. And I hope she and her bum-fugly sister fade into oblivion, along with their creepy father. *shudder*

Jessica announced at an appearance that Nick has signed on with ESPN as a football commentator.I think this is better for him than a singing career.
Hopefully she meant a regular gig and not just the draft special. I agree, he'd be better off with that than singing. He certainly loves his sports and that's better than being the Nth warmed over ex-boybander.
