Anybody watched the suckfest on True Hollywood Story? Basically sucking up to poor little Ashlee, stupid bitch Jessica, Mr. Jessica Simpson, & Jessica's horrible parents.
It was mortifying. Asslee's "former" personal assistant was on every other second. I loved when she was talking about the Orange Bowl disaster. After getting off the stage, Asslee said to her "Are they booing ME?" And the personal assistant said - completely serious - "No, no, they're booing the whole show."
You can't make this shit up, people.

TV Guide did a poll for an article called "The Best and Worst of Reality TV", guess who came out ahead on "Which reality-star couple would you trust to raise your child?", with 54% of the vote. You really should click on the link to see who the other choices were. TVGuide.
Oh Hell no!
Never mind the Newlyweds, some people would actually trust Bobby Brown or Cletus to raise their child?
The people voting in that poll were all just joking…right?

I might trust Nick to raise a kid, but I would never let Jessica go near my child. I suppose, though, looking at the options that Nick and Jessica might have been the best choice...

Trust that couple to raise your child!
Hell, did you see what they did with their dog{s}? I would not trust these people to watch my gold fish!
People who step over poop for the help to pick up would not exactly be the ideal parents, I would not even want them in my neighborhood, we have more class than that, I always pick up after my dog.

And these people called themselves Christians? If these people are Christians, then I don't want to be a Christian anymore.
So because this family is very much involved in the entertainment business and you don't like them, you'd disown Christianity? I know you're not serious, but adulterers and pedophiles who claim they are Christian would make me resist Christianity and its teachings before the Simpsom family does...Just saying.
I expected a far bigger opening for this movie. I estimated a cool $45 million but $30 million is a pretty solid opening. I'm very surprised but pretty much indifferent about Jessica Simpson.

Forgive me, Tubey, for I have sinned.
I watched the a few parts of the E True Hollywood Special and I had a surprising and disturbing reaction to it. I actually thought Ashlee looked cute in the interview sections. It was the first time I recall seeing her with what appeared to be normal hair. The color was normal. The style was normal. Most importantly there was no femullet. The color was a really light brown. The style was chin lenght and very straight. Now, I didn't get a look at the back. It's possible she might have screwed it all up by doing something Punk!Rawk! in the back.
As for the rest of the speical, from what I saw you guys didn't miss much. It was the same old "Jessica isn't a complete idiot. Her and Nick are doing great. Tabloids are evil. Ashlee really is talented. She can actually sing. PaSimpson is just a normal, proud father........blah blah blah."
Since I didn't actually watch most of the speical I don't know if there were any moments of PaSimpson skeeviess. I'm sure there were though. There always are.

Yeah, but Sandra Bullock has also been blessed with a talent called "being able to act." No, Jessucka, you are not a "natural actress," try working for something once in your life.

Remember back when E!THS had balls? I mean they would get down and dirty and really make it worth watching. Now it is only for stars who agree to be on it, is that any fun? no, and their kiss ass publicists who spin everything they do into gold. I want the dirt, not the same rehashed shit that I see on ET every night.

Considering E! had reported that they filed for divorce in LA Superior Court and then had to retract it with an apology and Creepy has a TV show on their station, I didn't expect anything but a favorable ETHS.

Re: the THS...I never knew Asslee was a dancer. Why oh why is she so incapable of any graceful coordinated movement now?? I'm surprised they didn't try to spin the SNL hoedown as a promotional tie in for DOH. "Asslee was talking to Jess about her upcoming movie and so the South was on her mind..."
I just can't hate Jessica. I think she's gorgeous, and she doesn't bug me. I feel bad for her having that dad. It was either on the THS or the Elle article that I read DOH was the first time she'd been away from both her husband and dad - EVER. Gross me the F out.

I took my father to Dukes of Hazzard last night and... well... he loves the remake of "Boots."
ETA: On THS, I thought it was funny how they spun Joe's creepy comments as 'Well, you also have to remember that he's not just her father - he's her manager so when he makes those sort of comments- it's as a manager - not a father. I don't freaking ever hear of other managers talking about how well endowed their clients are.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but it seemed like everytime I turned the channel the editor from US was involved in the sucking up. Not a surprise. I stopped reading that mag months ago.
Yeah, except every time he spoke he would say something like "And the tabloids went crazy reporting that Jessica and Nick might divorce!" with a huge amount of disgust in his voice. And then they'd cut over to the front cover of
US Weekly to show a cover photo of Nick and Jessica saying their marriage was over.

Here's my quick take on the recent "balls-free" E!THS.
Given that new relationship, IMHO the THS is E! trying to make good w/ their new biz partner, and offering Joe a chance to reverse-spin all the negative press (warranted or not) his meal tickets, er, progeny have been getting. Say what you will, but Joe's a savvy in this respect-- form a positive relationship w/ one of the premiere entertainment outlets to stem the gossip tide. "Access" digs up something bad about your girl and Johnny Knoxboots? Have your 5min. soundbite vehement denial featured exclusively on E!. "E.T." digs up some drama about Ashlee? Screw you guys, I'm on E!

I watched the ETHS. Okay, so, when they showed the younger Jessica singing, she didn't seem to have the psycho jaw that much, if at all so when did that start? (same with how she talks) And also, when they showed her rehearsing her dance moves in that overall outfit, I found it pretty funny. You got the back up dancers who seemed to know what they were doing, dancing all in step and everything and then Jessica. hee.
I actually thought Ashlee looked cute in the interview sections.
I agree. Also, she seems like she should only be shot from the side b/c she looks gorgeous at an angle.

Ugh - I listened to the potential first single from the new CD. No one can accuse Jessica of over-singing on it because she barely sings at all. The vocals are worse than Boots and it's about a night out at the club - it was like a low-rent Britney song.

I watched only a few minutes of the ETHS, but it was enough for me. Even back then Jessica cannot take responsiblity for herself.

I read today that Jessucka has been inspired by Angelina Joli, and now wants to do missionary work.
I can't really knock noble intentions, but seeing I find it hard to believe that she can endure much time in the most desperate parts of sub-Saharan Africa. What little I saw of her on Nick and Jessica made her sound like a spoiled, dimwitted 10 year old.
But, I guess if she draws more attention to the problem....

I couldn't bring myself to watch it just for that reason. I feel the same way whenever PaSimp says Jessica should have been a little Christian singing star but they discriminated against her because of her double Ds. It's just never because little Jessica just wasn't good enough. Yeah, whatever, dude.
I was at the salon last night, and I skimmed through Jessica's article in Elle (talk about interviewers being way up her ass). She admits that her past singing style has been very "show-offy" and that's she's learning to tone it down a bit. Well, at least she learned one thing in her lifetime.

To continue the review discussion, I didn't see anyone mention that EW gave it a B+ and had this to say about ManJaw
And then, of course, there's Daisy Duke, their perversely wholesome sex-bomb cousin, who uses her willowy assets to ease them out of tight spots. On the show, Catherine Bach got famous for mainstreaming a disco fashion trend, but apart from those butt-cleaving cutoffs, she was a flavorless wedge of cheesecake. Jessica Simpson, with skin as tawny as melted caramel and a smile of joy to rival Julia Roberts', turns Daisy into a vibrantly luscious comic tease. She's Little Annie Fanny as the world's most self-mocking Hooters waitress, and it will be no surprise if Simpson's star keeps rising long after she has hung up her short shorts.

Big fat WORD, Selma04. The whole Simp family suffers from "Responsibility? Who, me?" syndrome...aided and abetted by E!'s Asskissing Bullshit Hollywood Story.
Anyone else find it incredibly irritating the way her whole squicky family pronounces her name "Jeska"?
As in (paraphrasing here): "they were all jealous of Jeska's tremendous talent" (snort) or "Jeska tried to cover her enormous DD boobs with a jacket but Jeska's boobs are so enormous that it wouldn't button!" (followed by oddly excited, high-pitched, heavy breathing giggle from Creepy Pa).

I heard a bit on the radio this morning during their Hollywood report segment about Ashley getting a personal trainer. And not just any personal trainer, Jessica's personal trainer that got her in shape to wear those Daisy Dukes. (Just because I didn't think we had all heard about the Daisy Duke shorts enough yet.)
Apparently Ashlee is sick and tired of being known as the "ugly Simpson sister". Because losing weight and being blonde is clearly the answer to all her insecurities.

This is absurd, she wasn't even remotely overweight to begin with. She should work on being prettier on the inside, and not play the blame game when something doesn't go her way. And if she really wants to be the more attractive sister, trying to emulate Jessica the Wax Drag Queen isn't the way to go.

ITA. These people are so pathetic and shallow. She needs to be taking acting lessons or studying dance and actually nurturing some talent or other. I think if she really worked on her acting and got a few small parts, people would give her another chance. Yes, Jessica is getting by mainly on her looks right now, that that'll be short-lived. There are other ways of getting by in life, and Ashlee just doesn't seem to get it.

Unfortunately, the non-family show business people around her are probably encouraging (or pressuring) her to lose weight. Thinner than average isn't good enough, you have to be "Hollywood thin."

Exactly. Before too long, she'll have starved herself onto the cover of the tabs. Stories will pop up (planted by PaSimp of course) about Ashley being "too thin".
How Thin is too Thin? the covers will say with equal parts Lindsay, Nicole, and Ashlee along the bottom. It's really the only reason people will pay attention to her at this point.

Jessica Simpson is coming out with a new line of plus-size jeans which will be made in sizes 12 to 24 and be available in Avenue stores. In regards to the decision, Jessica's father and manager, Joe Simpson, told USA Today, "We have people 300 pounds or 90 pounds come up to Jessica and say, 'I'm just like you' ... It's not about the outside. It's what's inside."
Or, it's about whatever will make him a buck.

YMMV, but I like the idea of coming out with plus-size jeans but for me, it would have been a great idea even if someone else came out with it. Jessica wasn't always stick thin, but probably never a size 16 either, so I appreciate the effort.

I just think it's another way for Pa Simpson to make a buck. Even in Jessica's "bigger" days she was small. I don't think she's ever been larger than a 4/6. Aren't there fashionable jeans for plus sizes? Is there a need for someone like Jessica to come along and create a special line?

Actually yes there is a need for fashionable jeans for plus size women. I am plus size and the jeans are just that-plain old jeans as in Just My Size jeans from Wal-Mart. No cutsie fashionable to them. However, I don't see how Jessica will know what works on plus size women since she's never been one. Big boobs does not equate to plus size. Someone who is "hip" now that would make more sense to offer a plus size line would be Mia Tyler, Mariah Carey, Raven Seymone. Women with real curves and real meat on their bones. Plus, why would Jessica know fashion-she dresses like shit.

It's probably the same deal as with Dessert, she probably won't have anything to actually do with the line except slap her name on it.

I suppose. However, like
Vermicious Knid said, Jessica Simpson will simply attach her name to it. I have no doubt that actual designing students will put the final product out with the intention of providing quality jeans to full sized women. No one has said Jessica is full figured and I do not believe for a second that she will put pencil to sketch book and actually design as much as an inseam. They'll hand her the product with her seal and she'll approve. I honestly appreciate the effort, like I said twice before, and I think it's pretty cool and that this is being put out there, regardless of who's putting it out there. YMMV and it does.
Sometimes, IMO, I feel like people (no one in this thread) try to find something wrong with
everything Jessica does just because they dislike her.
I dunno.

I don't fault her for trying but she should try in a field where she is more apt. I could see her being a spokesperson for products that fit her, i.e. LV, Chicken of the Sea-that made sense, even Pro-Active skin solution. But she needs to find one thing and stick to it and perfect that rather than trying to be all over the place. She used to sound good when she sang before she tried to "fit in" and before Newlyweds. Now, she sucks. She tries so hard that she fails miserably at acting and there is always an excuse. Maybe she just needs a sabatacle. It worked wonders for Mariah Carey!
