Folks, I AM Nick Lachey. His cheering/ranting/stressing, etc. re: his Bearcats was EXACTLY like mine for the Tar Heels. And Jessica's reactions to his superstitions and knowing his moods based on the results are exactly like my wife's. If CaCEE tried to pick on me after my team was eliminated, I shudder to think about my reaction. ;-)
When was CaCEE gonna actually do ANY personal assistant work? Um, wouldn't calling about a movie time technically be her job.
Love how Nick pointed out that the maid doesn't have time to dust when she spends all day picking up their room.
This show continues to show that Nick is a normal guy who happens to have singing talent and got rich while Jessica is a spoiled, home-schooled brat.
Didn't watch any of Ashlee's show but wouldn't Preacher/Closet Gay Dad be upset with her cursing/shooting the bird promo? Or not b/c it's more fame/publicity/money for the family!

Yeah, where was Drew? One fo the many people on the phone with Nick? Hee! I lurve him more and more.
Shut up, CaCee, or CaCa, or whatever.
Jessica, maybe your cleaning lady would have more time to, uh, clean if she didn't have to fold and put away everything you own into the ginormous closet your husband bought you. What a wench. Of course your house is dirty, you don't even bother to try and maintain it. Poor Nick. I don't blame him for wanting someone he trusts, and the 50-person squad it would take to clean the house properly every week would probably have one person on it that would rob them blind. She's a ridiculous bitch and I hate her.
I love how Jess' mom is still around. What's the point of personal assistant CaCa if mom is still there? Oh, right, more people to make Jessica look less stupid. And what a bitch for teasing Nick when he was obviously pissed off. Can't she be a little more gracious to the guy who's putting her up rent-free and paying her?
Maybe CaCa should become the cleaning lady.

I hope that Nick is just sticking it out until all the money has been raked in. Then, he can subtly drive Jessica into ditching him and he can bank on the divorce settlement! Hell, they have all this tape to show how she has mistreated him.

I predict a CaCee/Jessica throwdown by the end of the season. Personally, I enjoy the Jessica/Leah pairing much more. I can think of three specific occasions which would warrant Nick to kick her ass out onto the street. She's seriously like Anna Nicole's crazy cousin that came to Beverly Hills to visit....and mooch.

Who were the guys with them in Houston? The white guy was with Nick in Detroit last year I think--is that Nick's assistant? He had a wedding ring on so it has to suck for his wife with him putzing around with the Lacheys all the time.
Casey (I, too, refuse to spell it CaCee!) had to have Nick set her alarm clock EVERY night? Who doesn't know how to set an alarm? I think I was 10 when I learned how to set one. I agree about that apartment she looked at--it was very nice and BIG. I'm sure Jessica pays her a ridiculous amount to be her assistant so I'm sure the rent was not an issue. She's just a moocher.

There are going to be BIG problems with her being both Jessica's best friend and her PA. On the one hand, Jessica and Nick are going to get pretty pissed if they continue doing all of their own errands and CaCee continues sitting around doing nothing. On the other hand, if they are all going out to the movies as a group of FRIENDS, why should one friend automatically have to do the grunt work? CaCee isn't going to like being treated like a flunky all the time. A lot of celebs try out the "I'll give my friend a job!" thing and realize that it just doesn't work.
I'm sure Jessica pays her a ridiculous amount to be her assistant so I'm sure the rent was not an issue.
Word. I was wondering what the big problem was. Isn't the standard salary for a celeb PA $45,000-$60,000? Jessica is probably paying her at the upper end of the scale. And besides, CaCee just needs some little place to sleep in and store her stuff since she'll undoubtedly be over at Nick and Jessica's place constantly.

I wouldn't think $60K is all that much if you are living in California. I am not sure how much apartments go for, but based on what I have heard buying a house is very expensive--so my guess is that an apartment would be somewhat pricey. And if she is coming to CA from TX, the costs are probably a huge difference, as many areas of TX are fairly inexpensive (compared to many places in the US).
Now all that said, I am not standing up for Casey, as she should have known all of this going into the move. And should also know that noone wants a houseguest sponging off of them for very long. So she should be very appreciative of the place to stay and be very active in her apartment search.

I can just see an MC Hammer-type fall from financial grace for these two if they are not careful. Although we would all love to be rich and famous, there is a huge downside and that is that many people think that you have unlimited money and that they somehow deserve a cut just for knowing you. Me thinks Kay*Sea is in that camp for sure. These are the type of "friends" who will turn on you in a heartbeat if you cut them off or fire them. If I were famous (bwahaha) I would never, ever, ever hire a friend to be my PA, ever. Get a professional. Keep friends out of it.
As for the maid/cleaning scandal: I am 99% sure that Jessica is under the impression that being rich and famous entitles you to throw your clothes around and generally act like a child. It would never occur to her to act like a responsible adult because the hamster wheel has stopped spinning, folks.
Am I horrible for kind of wishing that Jessica ends up on Hollywood Squares one day just to pay her bills? Yes? That's what I thought.

I really, really, really hate her. The talking on the phone while with other people in a restaurant, her snide remarks about the maid when her lazy self is the reason why the maid can't do anything, and her completely offensive suggestion that there is a "communication barrier" between her and her presumably Hispanic maid, who probably works harder in an hour than Jessica has ever worked for anything in her entire life.
Her slide into complete and utter obscurity can't come fast enough for me.

CaCee is, to my utter shock and horror, even MORE immature than Jessica. I mean, picking on a guy because his team lost? And she's supposed to be her assistant? This is going to be the blind leading the blind, that's for sure.
Next week's drinking game: Drink a shot every time Nick says, "Shut up, Casey."
I'm on board for that.
However, Nick is getting on my nerves so far. His passive-aggressive way of handling things is just out of hand. As much as I don't like Jessica, it is awful to talk about how little you "get laid" in front of a camera crew (and thereby America). That's just an awful, awful way to treat your wife. And CaCee's leechiness notwithstanding, it's tacky to make jokes/comments/insults about her being evicted or whatever right in front of her and other people. That's just rude. Especially since if the tables were turned, I could see him having no problem putting up one of his childhood buddies from Cincinnati in their house for a while.
BTW, I think CaCee is prettier than Jessica. That's another reason I wouldn't want her in my house if I were Jess.
A lot of celebs try out the "I'll give my friend a job!" thing and realize that it just doesn't work.
I've read that too. Who thinks that's a good idea, on either end? If I became a pop sensation overnight, I can't imagine hiring one of my friends to be my personal assistant. Too much insider baseball, dontcha think?
It IS hard to get an apartment with parking, in a decent neighborhood, also with a stove and fridge in Los Angeles. There was an article just yesterday about how nutty it is:

So what happened to Nick's wonderful gift of a huge organized closet for Jessica? Took her about 2 days to have it right back in the shape it was in before the organizers showed up, it seems. Ridiculous. Nick must feel pretty defeated on that one.
So Casey is Jessica's new assistant, meaning "Dumberer" from last season didn't work out -- or was that also Casey, as someone asked? Jess thinks she is doing her best friend a favor by helping her move to L.A. and giving her a job -- but I'll bet Nick warned her that mixing friends and business is not a good idea, however, it's Jessica's money and certainly she has no problem ignoring his advice.
Good point that if Casey can't set an alarm clock, she definitely doesn't have any "assistant" skills. Or even basic admin assistant skills, which she will need to find a job when Jessica fires her in the season finale. I'm terrific with details -- they could pay me $60,000 a year to organize
both their lives, and Nick would get laid regularly, too. ;-)
Why did Casey not take the nice apartment? I didn't catch the reason, if they even explained it. If they didn't, I hate the way this show sometimes leaves things hanging like that.
From a previous episode:
A 10 1/2 year old is pretty smart and watching Jess would dumb her down alot. Case in point "Does your heart stop beating when you sneeze?" asked to Nick.
I have to defend Jessica on that one because it is widely reported as a trivia "fact".

Oh, I'm sorry if it sounded like I was dissing him. I think that going from NSYNC to a musical like "Rent" is *quite* a step up. And having loved him in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", I think that he is much too talented and charming to only be remembered as a background member of some awful pop group. I just meant that the "background" members of pop groups/shows seem to be popping up in "Rent" for some reason, not that they are untalented or undeserving.

A few months ago, they had a 1-hr profile of commedienne Kathy Griffin; she had a personal assistant that's amazing. He was a whirling dervish of efficiency; the house ran like clockwork, the dogs were well-behaved, and the work/travel schedule flowed like a river. Yes, I remember SpaCee from last season. This one must have just started filming right after the last, since the premiere was during March Madness. I guess we won't see much of Drew because by the time this was filming he was in NYC for his role in Rent. Maybe Drew was calling from NYC when Nick was watching the b-ball game. I felt sorry for Nick having to watch the game alone, but then, Jessica and MiniJess would have been way too annoying with their stupid comments every 10 seconds.
Nick becoming a Big Brother is awesome, and really the right thing for him, I think. Like getting a dog (and they still don't have a dog, do they?), I'm sure he put some thought into the responsibility and how much time he would actually have to spend with a kid. Maybe he can do some promo spots for the organization, too.
I'm pretty sure that was Casey at the Valentine's Day cookoff, although maybe she was only visiting at that time and moved in a few weeks later.
I know this is just a dumb reality show and all, but I really wish we got events more in sequence.
Edited because I'm confusing this this season's events with events from last year!

The segment that most entertained me last night? Watching Nick's reeeeeally instense reactions to the basketball game. I've always watched the show specifically for him anyway.
Oh my HECK, Jessica just sucks ass as a singer. I hadn't ever heard one of her songs all the way through, either, until today while eating lunch at Subway. "Who is that assaulting that Robbie Williams song?" I asked myself. And then I realized I had just seen a snippet of her mid-"Angels" massacre less than twenty-four hours ago. When I get home tonight, first thing I'm doing is flushing out my ears by playing Robbie's version. Several times.

Thank you so much DoubleTee! I heard her "Angels" song for the first time today in the car and the whole time driving home I was wondering why it sounded familiar, but not. I heard "Angels" today...well, the last fourty seconds of it and nearly threw things in protest of her assaulting my eardrums. I love me some Robbie and you don't fuck over that song. Later I heard it again, in the middle part where she shouts at us for a couple of seconds. Evil evil woman.
Missed the season premire but saw the advert for next week's episode. Whoever this Casey person thinks she is needs to go down the drain because as a PA SHE is the one who supposed to call for movie times, not the husband of the D-list celeb you're working for.

I sooo don't mean to stick up for her, this Casey nightmare I mean. I just had this thought while watching it:
Whenever some women have to spend a lot of time, especially if it's one-on-one, with the boyfriend/husband of a close girl friend, they will behave in a certain way, and create a kind of brother/sister energy with the guy (which might involve you being perhaps slightly annoying and bratty).
I do it, reflexively I think. If I thought about it, I probably wouldn't. You just are in the camp (referencing When Harry Met Sally) that men and women and will almost always have a tension between them, and so you desexualize to an exaggerated degree to preclude even the slightest wisp of an appearance of it.
Of course I am sure (after reading you guys, and seeing things I missed LIKE THE ALARM CLOCK??), that I am giving her far, far, far too much credit. It was just my first instinct because you gotta assume that Nick is dying for other female company. And I do mean dying. And a woman who requires Jessica as her meal ticket ('cuz that's so what's going on) would not want to be that companion!

I have two questions for anyone that can answer them.
1. Do most famous people read People, EW, US and the like? I thought that they avoided stuff like that and cant understand why Jess had all those magazines. Cosmo and Vogue, I can understand those, but not the tabloid mags.
Also 2. Do famous people refer to themselves as celebrities? Jessica does this constantly and I have a hard time believeing that Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, even Anna Nicole refer to themselves in this manner.
I wish I knew a famous person so I could ask, does anyone know these answers?

Go away, Jessica, June 3, 2004
Reviewer: A reader from new york, ny United States Why is this idiotic, mannish-looking woman getting so much attention? Why would anyone buy her book on weddings when her marriage to Nick is so going to be over any day now? Why not get wedding tips from someone who'll actually understand what it's like to put together a wedding? It's doubtful that Princess Jessie did ANYTHING to prepare, and probably didn't have to worry about any costs. Also, what kind of person uses their special day to pimp her career? Blech. I found this book trashy, boring, not informative and a waste of shelf space.

Well she should have let Nick stop at some of those rattier places then. I have a feeling she doesn't want her own place. That was a nice apartment and I'm sure even if she thought it was too pricey, Nick would probably come out of his own pocket to get her out of his house. I kept getting weird "other woman" vibes from K.C. (I like that spelling better). Not that Nick is attracted to her, but that's how most affairs start. The wife leaving the best friend with the husband too often. Maybe I read too many novels.
