Listening to WMMR preston & steve morning show yesterday (its a philly station) and they had April and Phil on who are Bam Margera's parents, very cool people. Well Preston straight up asked about rumors of Bam nailing Jessica and they comfirmed it. April wasnt so sure they should say anything but Phil jumped right in and said Bam never lies and he said he did. Actually I'm sad, I thought Bam had better standards.

I have to say that the media is actually full of lies, I agree with you, nicepeebles, but for the Cosmo interview, they did it in a Question and Answer format. What was printed were her exact words. How can you not believe that she would say that? She has gone ON AIR and happily declared that she used to buy things and return them, which is stealing. Why would you think that she would not say this?

She had said that she knew that the cameras were on her and so she would play it all up!

I just don't believe everything the media says. Just b/c it is in Q&A format, doesn't mean it is not prone to distortion. Of course the magazine will say it is her exact words. Why do I have to believe she would say that? My comments were specifically referring to stuff that I didn't hear come out of her mouth, like on a radio show where they don't edit things. I never heard the radio show where she said about returning things so I wasn't even commenting on that. I was commenting on how there is a lot of conflicting stories on is she dumb or is she just acting dumb.

I can see her cheating precisely because she was a virgin until marriage. This whole thing reeks of a young adult rebellion. The girl just needs some strange, that's all. Where's the conflict? She clearly acts dumb on her show. I've seen her in interviews, and she says stupid things and seems dumb. (I saw her on that US Style Icon award thing, and she bragged about returning clothes. The interviewer was gobsmacked and asked if she was serious. Jessica was too dumb to even realize that's not cool. Then she said: "Style Icon, that's good right?" And then: "I've dreamed of being a style icon my whole life" The hell? She's either dumb or stoned, and I'll go with dumb.) Her mom says she's really smart, but she's her mom and manager, and Mom appears a bit dumb herself. And Jessica seems proud to be dumb because it's how she always got attention from guys, which is, you know, dumb. I'm not getting the conflicting stories out there. Has there been an article in Mensa magazine that I missed?

And while I'll agree that the tabloids embellish things to make them more interesting, Cosmo and other magazines like that generally just slobber all over celebrities and try to make them look better and more interesting than they really are. Tabloids are selling controversy. But Cosmo is selling fawning articles and celebrities and fashion and beauty and sex advice. Magazines have been using Jessica to sell magazines for years now. What would be their incentive to make her look bad?

And like Hanzo said, her clothes make her dumb.

Her mother was quoted in Vanity Fair's profile of Jessica that Jessica's IQ tested at the "genius" level. Vanity Fair also quoted her mom as talking about the buying/returning of clothes for Jess.

Didn't Rainman also test at a genius IQ? Seriously, though, many many mentally ill people test very high on IQ tests. I suspect that Jessica may fall into that category, if the IQ thing is true.

I don't read crap like Vanity Fair, In Touch Weekly, Life & Style, US Weekly, & People. They always make Jessica look smart & beautiful (which she is neither.)
If I want to read about Jessica Simpson & her ilk, I'll read the National Enquirer & the Globe. At least those 2 will make her & Mr. Jessica Simpson look bad & look very stupid.

I hope that Mr. Jessica Simpson's new show & his album is a complete failure. He deserves it. He will never be as successful or good looking (like no-talent Ashlee Simpson.). He is a loser. Even if he dumps Jessica, he is still a jackass.


Jessica is mentally ill. Just seeing her face all over the magazines & on TV makes me ill. She knows fashion, acting, singing, & having a brain cell just as much as I know about algebra. (And I flunked algebra twice.)

Even if she scored high on an IQ test as a child, which I doubt, it doesn't necessarily mean anything now. The woman has never shown any intellectual curiousity and seems content in her ignorance. If a genius stops learning in third grade, she won't be a genius for long.

I highly doubt Jessica is a genius. I believe the number they were throwing around was 160 and that's higher than Einstein. However, she might really think that is her IQ, if she took a crappy online IQ test. Those are notorious for giving higher than accurate scores and they make it easy to cheat.

Who again is that guy (a stylist?) there for Jessica's haircut and color? He has that same fetal alcohol syndrome face as Britney. I know I've seen him on the TV/mag fashion circuit, but I can't remember who the hell he is suddenly.

Are you talking about Ken Paves? He is Jessica's hair guy and was seen a lot in the last season of the show.

Has anyone else seen the previews for their upcoming variety show? It's called "Tour of Duty," and it's a film version of their trip to Iraq. So their trip to visit the troops wasn't just to entertain the troops, it was also to film a television show and make money for them? I'd be surprised, but yet I'm not. And how sad is it that N&J are the headliners, and poor Willie is their "guest".

ETA: I just saw in the television listings, that the special is on tonight, and it was filmed in Germany. So did they ever to to Iraq as their web site claims? It's all so confusing.

Just another sign that the Apocalypse is surely to be around the corner, catching it's breath after rushing to get here a few thousand years ahead of schedule.

Just to weigh in on the dumb/not dumb debate: I think she's naturally dumb, but really plays it up on the show for the sake of comedy. Sort of like Paris Hilton during the first season of The Simple Life when she asked "What's Wal Mart?" In People magazine, after the season wrapped, there was an article that listed what was real about that show and what wasn't, and she admitted that she knew what Wal Mart is, but asked that question because she thought it'd be funny. I have the same opinion of her that I do of Jessica: there's no doubt in my mind that Jessica's pretty dim, but I also think some of the idiocy is rehearsed.

I don't know... I think that's what they would have us believe but I'm not buying it. The main thing is that if that were her shtick, don't you think Nick would know about it? He seems genuinely pissed off and sometimes shocked when she demonstrates her idiocy. And I doubt he's that good of an actor!

I agree that she is dim but also plays up her dumbness for the cameras. However, I feel that a lot of her verbal mistakes in the first season were real. After that, she was trying too hard and none of her dumb comments came across as genuine. She wants to be dumb as a fox but she is just trying too hard.

According to Star Magazine, they performed in Germany then flew to Iraq and spent 1 hour with troops taking pictures and signing autographs.

I think after the "tunafish or chicken" episode aired and she realized that she had hit paydirt, many of the scenes after that appeared to be too rehearsed. Such as the "I don't eat buffalo" and the "platamapus" comments. I wouldn't be too surprised it those screw-ups were scripted.

To me the verbal mistakes aren't what make her dumb at all; dingy, dizzy, dopey, but not dumb. Smart people can also be momentarily confused about a word spelling or pronunciation. Lots of smart people can be spacey.

In my mind, she's dumb in that scene with a record company person because she wasn't aware of hit songs from the past ten years. How can she not be interested in music? That's her job. She's dumb because in that scene where she was rehearsing for a short scene for the Grammy's or whatever and she wasn't familiar with basic words, and the shooting was supposed to be four hours and ended up being 12 because of her stupidity. She's dumb because she doesn't know that wearing clothes and returning them is wrong, that using intimacy to control your husband is messed up. She's dumb because she thinks there's nothing wrong with acting dumb to attract boys. She's dumb because she loves being married, but is clueless about keeping her marriage healthy. And because it's clear to everyone in the world except her that her relationship with her family is straining her relationship with her husband. She's just clueless about so many things and doesn't seem the least bit interested in learning anything new or addressing the issues in her life. IMHO, intellegent people are curious and are constantly learning, and can never be content to be ignorant.

I watch the first three seconds of last night's special, and I had to turn the channel. R-O-C-K in the USA, a terrible song made so much worse. And then I was going to watch the ending, but all the performers were lined up on stage singing together, and it was like everyone's mike was off except Jessica's, and she was screeching, with her head dispenser head, and the spasmotic gestures, and I had to turn away.

Word.

Whatever happened to Jessica's voice anyway? When she was just starting out, Jessica had a beautiful voice and a gorgeous face. Look at these pics from when she was younger:

Now she has that fake orange tan and when she sings she looks like someone who is having a seizure and suffering from an electrical shock at the same time. Her voice is still better than Britney's (though that doesn't take much talent) but it's nothing special. It's just...bland.

Caught a brief glimpse of the special last night. There are no words. Jessica was butchering "God Bless America." I can't believe anyone can open their mouth that wide and have such a bleat come out of it. I'm going to make up some care packages to send to the troops. No one should be afflicted with that aural torture, especially our troops.

I don't know how long they were scheduled to stay in Iraq, but because of a sandstorm they stayed overnight.

It appears Jessica has filed for divorce! They had a story on E! online, but it was removed a few minutes ago.

I hope the divorce stories are true. It puts lovely Jess just one day closer to revealing it all in Playboy. I cant wait to see those luscious sweater melons in glorious living color.

I will say this: I have never been more bored/annoyed with a television show than I was with Nick and Jessica's Tour of Duty. When they visited the soldier hospital and sang Amazing Grace for one of the wounded? My god. Jessica turned EVERY note into a glory note. Her singing These Boots Were Made For Walking was also horrible, so horrible that those in the room with me turned the TV off before she finished the first chorus.

She could sing before. We all heard her. Then her second CD came out and everyone drove her into being anorexic and looking like Christina Aguilera. Now she's like someone mimicing what they saw Aguilera do one time as her voice suffers for it. Sadly, she's starting to sound more and more like her sister.

When they divorce, I give it 3 months before she's seen in Playboy and 1 year before she's stuck touring casinos.

What makes you think Jessica can sing? A dead mouse can sing better & has more brain cells than Jessica. I'm very happy that I did not watch those 2 bastards bring shame & humiliation to our troops for self-serving purposes. I also cannot believe that funny man Jimmy Kimmel would bring shame to himself by hanging around with those fools. He should be ashamed of himself.

Ooooh. I hated that show last night! She puts WAAAYYY too much into the singing, but doesn't enunciate(sp?), and is too breathy. I can't figure out what she's singing.

I hesitated to bring this up, because I can't stand her to the point where I want to criticize everything she does, but since you brought it up first: how is performing for hours in Germany to make a TV show, and then flying to Iraq for one hour -- one hour -- for a photo op with the people who are really in danger helping our troops? They didn't do anything to entertain and raise the morale of those who are really in danger. Didn't Bob Hope actually go to Viet Nam to perform for the actual fighting troops? This just seemed more self-serving than helpful.

I flipped by for a second and she was doing her other schtick, where she sings in a baby/sexy voice with all that breathiness. Like lizzyb831, it annoys me because I odn't know what she's saying. I'm not sure which of those two singing styles I hate more. At least with the over-glory-note-ification singing we can laugh at her ridiculous spastic-ness. But just stop all of it please.

How were the troops they were visited not really in danger? Obviously they weren't in imminent danger while Nick and Jessica were there, but a lot of the troops in Germany were stationed in Iraq.

Criticizing Nick and Jessica for the amount of time they spent in Germany and Iraq seems to be stretching it to me. The USO sets these tours up. The Army and their officials decide how long the performers should stay in each country and where they should go, keeping in mind both the safety of the performers and the rest of the troops. Bob Hope used to go as close to the front lines in Vietnam as he could get, but had to start performing in safer territory when it got too dangerous. I've read that Bob Hope also profited from the USO Christmas specials he did - they were underwritten by the government (not that I'm criticizing him for this). It's like that episode on Friends, no charitable act is truly selfless, I guess.

There are troops permanently stationed in Germany. We have no idea whether any of these people have ever been to Iraq or. And I don't think Jessica set up the tour, and I don't blame her for where they went. But I'm just not going to give her credit for doing some fabulous, selfless thing by performing in Germany and making a television show. You are, of course, free to believe it was more selfless than personally beneficial, but I don't. This is a woman who doesn't see anything wrong with buying clothes, wearing them, and then returning them because she just wanted to wear something new to school every day.

And, of course, Bob Hope's career benefited from his USO touring. My grandfather practically worshipped him because he often put himself in real danger to give the troops a little taste of home. But profiting from it, I'd believe it if you could site an article.

Of course some are. I just don't believe someone as self-absorbed and selfish as Jessica is capable of a truly selfless act. And I wouldn't go so far as to knock Bob Hope's selflessness.

Not really an article so much as a random musings on a web page mentioning some past controversy.

Does anyone remember: don't N&J have a contract to do a number of variety shows? I guess the USO thingy counts as one, and they did one other. So I'm guessing even if they are splitting up, they'd have to do a few more shows, so it makes sense that they wouldn't file for divorce until their contract is fulfilled.

Does anyone know how this special did in the ratings? I seem to remember the first one did well even though the critics hated it. I only flipped to it a few times because I can't tolerate listening to Jessica sing, but that scene where Nick was with the attack dogs, wow, that was just weird and senseless.

I've made it a goal in my life to never listen to Jessica, Asslee, Twitnee or any of these manufactured singers but recently I've been subjected to a radio station at work that I have no control over and I've had to suffer through several songs. I've seen various performances where she goes into her seizures and whoever taught her to sing like this was wrong. She sounds like she doesn't finish the words in her songs, like she's got a mouth full of grapes and is just trying to hiss the song through them. Every once in a while one of the grapes tries to go down her throat and she gags. Honestly, that's what it sounds like to me.

I know someone coached her that the breathy thing is sexy but it's annoying and she leaves off the last consonant in the words. It's like when she tried not to say "OMG" and changed it to "Oh, my gah".

Yeah. WTF is that?? Is Joe Simpson a member of the Gay Mafia or something? What power does he have? What is she going to do- sue him? And wouldn't the burden be on Jessica to prove she is not dating Bam? Hard to do since there are pictures and sighting of them all over.
