I agree it's quite an eclectic group of musicians but there is someone for everyone. I'm sure every person in Iraq isn't a country fan, yet they aren't all pop fans, r&b fans, etc. I like the whole group with the exception of Jessica Simpson. Big and Rich are popular because they aren't typical country-they are considered alternative country. Oh well, I'm sure some of the guys will enjoy Nick and Jess and they are what matters, not the performers.

Attidude99: Don't worry. I'm fine. Thank you for your concern. I love Ashlee Simpson. Sure, she's not very bright & cannot sing, but Ashlee has brain cells & Jessica does not. I rather listen to Ashlee's crappy music than Jessica's & Mr. Jessica Simpson's brain hemmorhaging-inducing singing.
I don't find Jessica to be smart, attractive or very likeable. She is very stupid. Can't I go one wk without seeing her ugly face on In Touch Weekly, Life & Style, People, & etc... I also will not watch the Dukes of Hazzard movie this summer because of her ugly, brain-damaged self. A mole can act & look prettier than Jessica. I think she & Mr. Jessica Simpson has brain damage.
Our troops are in harms way over there on a daily basis & the last thing that I need to see is Jessica & Mr. Jessica Simpson going over there for self-serving purposes & embarassing our brave troops with their ignorance and their "so-called" gratitude to our troops.
My hate for those 2 knows no boundaries.

Willie Nelson (he's a loser)
*jaw drops*
Word. I'm the opposite of a country music fan, but Willie Nelson is an icon, and I'd go to see him in a second. The rest of the line-up sort of makes sense in that it seems designed to appeal to a wide variety of tastes, like others have mentioned, but IMHO most of them are the type that will have short and forgettable careers. There are no real standouts.
And I agree it's kind of an insult to the troops to not get a better line-up. I wonder who puts these things together. And I can't fathom why Nick and Jessica are included. Jessica's fan base is a bunch of eight-year olds, and Nick doesn't have one, at least none that would shell out for his last CD. We should treat the troops better.

EVERYBODY GET BACK! BACK THE FUCK AWAY FROM MR. WILLIE NELSON!!
Willie Nelson is an American institution for all the right reasons. Not only is he a patriot in the truest sense of the word (dissenting because his country is not living up to it's potential and the principles it was founded on), he's a cool motherfucker as well. Next person who defames old Willie gets my electronic boot in their electronic ass, ya heard me?
On topic: I much prefer Jessica to Asslee, if only because I can mute the sound, and use my hand to block out the part of the screen that Nick "Han" SoulO will be on, and then it's not so bad. Kind of like watching the first ten minutes of a soft core porno, when everyone is still clothed, but the dialog hurts your brain. But I think I have a solution to all of these problems at once:
Las Vegas, Nevada, July 4th, 2005
Tonight on ABC - Watch as two eras come to one SPECTACULAR end!!
First, a musical extravaganza like you've never heard before! The simpson family and all their associates bring us a musical mash-up of epic proportions, as Nick, Jessica, Ashlee, Ryan, Joe, Tina, Cacee, Drew, Lea, Stephanie and all the rest participate in a R&B/Punk Rawwwk hoe down that will surely leave your ears ringing. All of this on the rooftop of the famed Circus Circus Casino and Hotel! THEN watch in amazement as the hotel is destroyed with expert precision by thousands of pounds of plastic explosives, with the performers still atop it!!
Well, Maybe not Drew. Him I can actually stand.

What IS it with Jessica and these latest getups? I mean, she gets an US magazine style icon award and continues her fashion descent into Hell. I guess she is, for some totally insane reason, aping Britney, but why why why? Just goes to show that she has no taste of her own and only copies what others are doing. She's hanging out with rock types now, so she goes all grungy and "I don't care what I have on" with her clothes choices. S.A.D.
And today I was watching the episode where she goes to the alligator farm and is afraid to go into the place where there are pools of small alligators. Ok, it stinks, I understand that. And she's scared, yeah, alligators are scary. But Jessica has to ham it up and grab attention by acting like a scared widdle gurl and then even sucking her thumb as she walks out of the place!
Ok, I can't hate her. I feel a bit sorry for her most of the time because she was raised by idiots with no values and she is lost in the Fame Game. Nick may be a real jerk, but she's not likely to find anyone who will do more than use her and leave her now.

Holy Frackin' Shat on that one. I only defended Willie. I never said anything about the rest. Every other act that was mentioned sucks total whalecock in my book, especially the Rotten Peas. Can you say sold out? Holy fuck. Makes me sick.
As far as Jessica's fashion goes, I think she's entered that celeb twilight zone that all of them seem to go through in some period in their careers, where people are paying attention to you and suddenly you think that ANYTHING you wear must be a good idea. What else could explain wrapping yourself in aqua blue teri-cloth with orange-brown cowboy boots and and armadillo handbag? I think maybe the Knoxville jism mingled with some Pa Simpson seed and mutated her brain. Mad ho disease, anyone?

I was blown away when I read this. I used to have a huge crush on her when she was on Kids Incorporated. Last I heard, Stacy and Renee, also from Kids Inc. were in a 3 girl band called Wild Orchid. She looks quite different now as Fergie.
This was my favorite part of her bio on TV Tome:

She looks completely different (in a bad way). I think the lamest thing about her joining the BEP is how all of a sudden she started going by Fergie. Is that more hard-core? As my friend said, "Bitch, we know you're Stacey from Kids, Inc. Don't try to fool us!" Sidenote, she also did the voice of Sally in some of the Peanuts cartoons on TV.
Back on topic, does anyone know when the scheduled release for Nick's album is? Hasn't he been working on it a long time? Not that I'm going to buy it or anything, but I kind of hope is does decently on the charts--for his sake. I wonder if Jessica will be a bitch again and release her album around the same time.

I don't know, because all I can see is that people have said Fergie tries to
act hardcore. I think she thinks she's tough, when in reality I grew up watching her be the little sparkles that flew under the "KIDS Inc." sign in the opening credits. I never said that BEP are hardcore. Once you're played constantly on KIIS FM that title pretty much flies out the window, and I think we're all pretty well aware of that here.

OFF-TOPIC ALERT!
((and I'm late on this, of course))
"Fergie" is about as fake hardcore as they get. Literally. The gal is near unrecognizeable from her Kids Inc. days thanks to all that plastic surgery---she's had at least a boob job, eyebrow lift, and lip augmentation. A friend of mine used to know her quite well before her BEP days---not as hot in person, and definitely not as nice in person either.
Okay, and one more supportive shout out for Mr. Willie Nelson---I'm not a country fan whatsoever, but like the late Johnny Cash, the fact that Willie's a country rebel icon and a cool guy who supports a number of cool causes means that he deserves a fair amount of true respect.
Not to bash anyone's opinions here, but when I see comments that laughable female "singers" like Ciara and Ashlee Simpson are okay/cool but Willie Nelson is a "loser", I have to wonder about the mentality of some of you posters here. Or your age.
**And btw, Willie Nelson's "Crazy" song is actually a cover of the Patsy Cline classic!
Thank you, and please do resume discussing the joys of Nick n' Jessica.

Did anyone see Nick and Jessica on that ridiculous US Fashion award show on Style? (I just got the Style Network recently, so I'm watching way too much crap.) Jessica got an award for being Style Icon of the Year. The hell? I guess they've conveniently blocked out her latest crimes against fashion. She told the story about her childhood of wearing clothes and returning them. One of the interviewers was stunned, but she was too stupid to feel ashamed. She just doesn't get why that's wrong. Then she gushed about how it's always been her dream to be a fashion icon. Shut up, dumbass.
She's also on the cover of Cosmo this month.
Seriously, does anyone still care about her except the celebrity publicity machine?

Not to beat a dead horse, but word.
I can't stand country music, but in my mind Willie and Johnny's music transcend the genre, and it's just good music. And unlike Ashlee and Ciara, they both write their own music and play instruments. And their music has been covered by many other artists of all genres and has stood the test of time. I'm guessing in 40 years no one will say the same about Ashlee or Ciara, or most of of the other disposable artists out now.

She said that she knew that the Chicken of the Sea was tuna, but she acted dumb. She said that she has always done that to get guys' attention.

Will the people in this family get their stories (a.k.a.
lies) straight? Jessica said in plenty of interviews that she isn't dumb but she speaks before thinking things through. I bought that because I have a cousin who is the same way and says hilarious things which she realizes are dumb once she thinks them over for a minute. She does not do it to get attention and it's usually spontaneous. The "tuna or chicken" moment is not Jessica "acting" dumb. She just said it before she thought about it.
On the other hand, I totally think she was faking the "I don't eat buffalo" comment.
So who the hell knows what is going on in that brain of hers.

Lastly, N&J do not have to worry about Brandine/Brittney and Cletus/Kevin taking their shine because Newlyweds is Masterpiece Theater (tm another poster) compared to those two. At least with N&J, I never left like (1) I was losing hundreds of brain cells by the second, (2) pity for them and (3) scared I was going to be seeing someone get it on at any minute. I think they're just like that. At least I hope so, because if homegirl is getting into the plastic surgery, she shouldn't. Except maybe to get rid of the speedbump nose thingy, that shit's distracting. I remember reading the "I act dumb to get guys" quote from her sterling ALLURE interview and iirc, her equally-rewarding Vanity Fair article.
It bugged me because later in the VF article she talked about how wonderful the success of Newlyweds was because it meant she "achieved success by being myself."
I guess she didn't get the contradiction there.

I think she's had the duck lips off and on for a while now. I've seen pictures in the past. You don't need surgery to get those. I think you just get collagen injections, and it gets absorbed after a while and they go back to normal. There's also lip gloss that's supposed to make your lips have that full, "bee-stung" look, but I don't that works that well. I'm guessing injections.
