Don't they have any memories that didn't feature prominently in a past episode of the show? I always thought that maybe they did, but apparently not.
Why would they discuss something that wasn't documented on the show?
Is it possible that we're seeing more baseball hats on him because he's vain and therefore embarassed that his hair is getting thin on top
Or he is getting paid to wear those hats as part of some kind of product placement/endorsement deal.

At least with that "thanks for supporting us" farewell message it seems like we are truly seeing the last of the "Newlyweds" show. Of course, Nick's show is still to come (and I'm looking forward to it like a total fool).
I had read some of these messages before I watched my taped episode, so I had some idea maybe they weren't moving out, and then I watched it and the whole thing of "packing" boxes seemed so fake. Maybe they really are moving, despite the "last minute decision" not to, but it certainly seemed like nothing more than a setup for a clip show.
Geez, look what a few years in Hollywood does to youth and natural beauty. Jessica was young looking when this show started and now her skin always looks rough and she looks tired. Not to mention her clothes, since they've already been commented on appropriately.
And Nick definitely looks different. Older and not as fresh either. Maybe they both need a real three-week vacation to get out of their lives of travel and P.R. events and appearing on camera.
There was one funny shot of Nick from the past that I didn't remember ever seeing. His hair was plastered down and looked sorta parted in the middle. Think Crispin Glover in "Back to the Future"!
I have to say that when Nick said something at the end about the show taking them farther in their lives than they had ever imagined, I felt he really meant it. He once again seemed like the sincere Nick from the first season.

I did laugh pretty hard at one of the flashbacks: the one where Jess is dressed to the nines and has high heels on, and is carrying several shopping bags and falls flat on her face. That was funny!
Ok, I guess there was one other part I thought was funny, when Nick was talking about the dead stiff mouse he found in their pool and Jessica said, "Rigor who?"

Word. I don't think there was actually anything in ANY of those boxes they had all over the place. The boxes were more strategically placed to block out any view of their house showing that everything was in fact still there.

I have a question. Was it Jessica who changed and Nick stayed the same? Or is it that she was always like that but it became more and more tiring to him as time went on and he realised that this is how she was always going to be?

Definitely. Especially that "They're finally leaving! Or

It was funny watching how much Nick's physical appearance changed throughout the course of the show. I was sitting through all the flashbacks like, "He looks...12!" Hee. But I do agree with ya,

As a religious reader of US Weekly, I haven’t heard anything about buying or selling, and that’s something they would be all over.

Amen! I think it’s the tanning. She looks tons better with paler skin and the extra 10 pounds from season one. As much as it pains me to say it, I thought she looked down right cute when they were in Home Depot.

To those who read the tabloids- DID they actually move or was this staged? Why was there no mention of it since the house played such a huge role in the show? Why would they move? I wonder if MTV rented this house for them or something.

Hailey, I totally agree about Jessica looking cute in Home Depot. IMO that was when she was her most beautiful. No makeup, clean hair pulled back, cute little dress. Sometimes I bet that Nick would prefer her that way, and just the two of them roaming the paint aisles with no papparrazi in sight. Of course, Jessica would still be bitchin' and moanin' about everything, but at least she'd be cute.
If the plastered-down hair was part of Nick's Halloween look, I wish we'd seen more of their festivities. Or did I miss an episode?

I always get confused as to why people severely dislike (or hate) Jessica. I don't know her personally, I see only what I am allowed to see via a television set, producers, and MTV handlers. I can't say she's mean, egotistical, weird, funny, etc., just because I couldn't honestly speak accurately. It's like a co-worker dishing about me based on what she sees around the office but who doesn't actually KNOW me. I always read that Jessica grates people, yet people still read articles about her, watch Newlyweds, make fun of what she wears and how she acts. If everyone really disliked her, why is so much attention being paid to what she does and when she does? If she honestly annoys people so much, why not ignore her, stop reading US, stop watching Newlyweds, and don't look at her pictures. I admit while I don't get why she is so popular, I enjoy watching Newlyweds. I tune in, as a I see many other TWOPPers do. Why put so much energy into disliking her I wonder? Not throwing the "UR so JealOus!!11!!!" card out, I am just curious as to what she did to people that makes them so angry. Hate her music? Don't listen to it. Think Newlyweds is fake? Don't watch it.
It seems like a stress-free, easy solution. Why put so much effort into disliking someone, but watch the very things they are promoting. I mean it's your prerogative. I just find it oddly fascinating.
I guess my main question lies in why people who claim they hate Newlyweds (it's so fake, they don't love eachother, Nick is the most awesomest husband ever and Jessica is an idiot if she doesn't realize it) yet come here or elsewhere to dish?
I am not being rude when I say it, I am genuinely curious and would love to get other's opinions as well. I'm not a Jessica fan, but I'll admit that I think she's a decent person who hasn't done anything to me.

Sorry, but I must disagree with your disagree. It wasn't the name of the realtor that was blurred out, it was the phone number. Since it's TV, if they had shown the phone number, it would have to be the 555 kind and that would be a dead giveaway.

AfroJo, for me....
I almost never watch the show, but I do read the boards (you guys can be funny, what can I say?)
I don't watch the show because I know the shtick. I know there won't be anything new, and I don't find them entertaining. Literally, I've caught maybe 2 episodes a season.
But why I hate Jessica so much? Actually, I'm indifferent to the woman herself. (Or woman-child, I should say.)
I think that she has become this cultural icon, though. And as such, I find her despicable. There's the private person, Jessica Simpson, who is fine. A little petulant and shallow and self-obsessed and materialistic and ignorant but with no desire to change that (in fact she thinks it's cute), but so are half the women in my gym. I don't like those girls at the gym, but as long as they don't do anything to me personally, I don't dislike them, either.
But then there's Jessica Simpson the symbol/product who showed that those qualities can earn America's fascination, and a cover shot on EVERY SINGLE TABLOID, and the #1 spot on Yahoo! celebrity search, as long as they're accompanied by a hot bod and unbelievably deft marketing.
That raises my ire! When I say I hate Jessica, really I'm talking about all the peripherals. And her personally? Whatever, I don't care. I don't have to be married to her.
And on the shallow stuff: I could give a rat's behind what she's wearing! I never cared about her outfits or her makeup, or how her looks have changed! I do not care (nor do I notice!!!) if she wears Uggs boots or hair extensions!
ETA: Okay, on the "shallow" stuff, I do have to say: Physically, I think she is just stunning. I don't see man-face, remotely. I don't think she looks old. I think she's a freakin' Greek goddess on the outside. A 3-year-old brat on the inside, but a goddess on the outside. That's why I think Nick will never leave, and is absurdly besotted.

The weird thing about Jessica is that she has so many looks. I've seen her on TV and in print when she looks incredibly stunning. Other times she looks like unbelievable crap. She should take a good long look at her mother, because that could be her in 20 years. *shudder*

I could not agree more. She and her husband and sister are everywhere, on every magazine cover, on television commercials, on MTV, etc., etc. And they've gotten to the point where they're famous because they're famous, not because they do anything noteworthy. They're just products. For example, Jessica and Ashlee did a few commercials where they demonstrated abysmal acting skills, and now they're getting movie roles. And magazine editors, and cosmetic companies, and movie makers, and fashion commentators are so lazy, they just shove the same people in our faces until we're sick to death of them. Since I have to look at this woman's face all the time, it doesn't take any energy to hate her. She's like a gnat, but one I can't brush away. Of course, I loathe her less than Paris Hilton.
I don't think she looks old. I think she's a freakin' Greek goddess on the outside.
I thought she had a kick-ass body in the first season. But now that she's in the movies -- gah! -- she's gotten that skeletor body that Hollywood demands. I think she looked so much better before.

If anyone still needs a Nick and Jess fix, I recently reread all the recaps from Season 2. Good times. It made me hate her all over again. Memorable hatable moments included:
-The bitch face about the beautiful huskie puppies and trip to the skeevey maltese breader.
