Seriously, every time someone links to another chat board, I develop a whole new love for TWOP. Three whole pages of Jessica looks like crap; no, she doesn't; yes, she does; anyone who thinks she looks like crap is stupid. But, of course, all with bad grammar and misspellings.
I think she's in the self-help section because she's researching the type of marriage books that are already out there in anticipation of her upcoming book on how to have the perfect marriage.
Coloring books?
Hey, that's a bit harsh. We've seen her leaf through magazines in the past. :-)

I definitely feel like an anthropologist when I see other boards. (What a weird sub-culture!, is what I always think.)
It's the most random, inexplicable things.
Poster 1: "I like cream corn."
Poster 2: "Cream corn is good."
Poster 3: "No cream corn sucks. You people deserve to be shot. You are the lowest of the low. You #&"%$%$%$!!!!!"
And then it's a hateful, abusive fight. America is weird.
Anyway, that one poster: "So she's said a couple dumb things on Newlyweds. If we're honest, haven't we all been like that, and said even dumber things?"
All I could do was hope these posters were in their early teens. Doubt it, but hope springs eternal!

I could see Nick being
linked with Lindsay, but not being serious with her. And the image of him with one of the Olsen's is just too disturbing to contemplate! For some reason I could see him with Ali Carter or whatever her name is (the Dorito girl). She was even in one of his videos! If not her, then someone like her - someone who is famous for being pretty, but no one very successful.
As for Jessica, I could see her with Wilmer too, or possibly Justin Timberlake. But she seems to like the beefier guys -- any more suggestions?

From the article above:
“A source close to Nick says that many of the couple’s friends believe they’re secretly separated,” according to the mag, which quotes a source as saying: “Some of Nick and Jessica’s friends are saying the decision to split up has already been made. They may already be history and they’re just waiting for the right time to make the announcement.”
Oh

Alright, second attempt.
I though it was really sweet that they were going to make valentines for each other. Of course Jessica scoffing at the thought of a price limit was both shitty and expected.
However, I lost my warm fuzzies when I saw Jessica's Valentine. Not "I love you" or "I love my husband" (no, I don't count the lame ass sign she made). "I love my wife". As ususal, it's all about her. And as for the valentine three years ago, GET OVER IT! Did she really think he would want to wear it out? How emasculating.
Of course, Nick was no better. Demanding to know how much she spent was just obnoxious. Fine, she went over the limit, but leave it until tomorrow! And as for making sex the punishment for going over the limit, yeah, that's healthy. Not to stick up for Jessica, but if that's his attitude normally, I wouldn't want to fuck him either.
But, I guess in the end it's still better than spending thousands more dollars on meaningless bling...

Holy crap! I was too stunned by the Pat O'brien scoop in that link to think about Jessica. Geez. Basically, it seems Pat has done everything stupid thing on set short of shoot up between his toes.
Back on topic:
My sig other: "Why does Nick keep punishing her with sex?"
I must say it does seem like negative reinforcement.
Also Jessica's "How do you spell lose? With one o or two?" May seem beguiling silly, but I can't say how many times I've seen "loose" mistakenly used or "loosing" (not a word) online. Ironically, I've never seen "loser" misspelled --- and it's used a lot.

Mar 24, 2005 @ 4:26 am
Yes, the Pat O'Brien thing is distracting, and if you want to listen to it as opposed to reading about it,
here's the link, but it's definitely adult content, and you might feel as if you need to take a shower after listening to it, so you've been warned. Click at your own risk.
Back on topicI found Jessica just plain annoying in tonights episode, not that she's usally not, but I don't know, this episode was just blah. Her valentine was all about her of course! Not that Nick is much better with his comments about 'punishment', but I still like him better by a landslide.
It's over next week already? I guess I haven't really been paying attention.

Fakety fake fake. Was that episode even filmed on Feb. 14th? The waitress was surprised to hear that it was Valentine's Day and the restaurant was completely empty. Anyone who has worked in the restaurant industry, or has gone out to eat on a Feb. 14, knows how packed restaurants are. Plus, all the Valentine's day items at the grocery store were 40% off. Don't those types of markdowns usually happen after the day? And to top it off, Jessica looked like shit. You'd think she'd dress up a little for Valentine's day.
Watching the engagement footage was kind of sad, especially since we all know their relationship is over. Jessica looked like a completely different person in the video.

Oh, I couldn't agree more. Between the recent paparazzi pictures and tonight's episode, my stars! I feel like Stacey from TLC's
What Not to Wear, but "comfortable" doesn't have to look that awful. There are many many levels between a skin-tight cocktail dress and looking like that. Put on a cute t-shirt and some tennis shoes- you'd be surprised.
Hmmm, I'm even going to say she's deliberately looking like this so she can pull the victim card of "what was I supposed to do? He just didn't find me attractive anymore. Hopefully, someday I can find a man who will." (cut to shot of PaSimp with his creepy smile and giant diamond earrings.)
For me, the part that stuck out was when he picked her up and took her upstairs and she said, "Nick, it isn't even night time!" I'd bet the farm that she is a
lights off- in our bed- under the covers- night time only- hurry up and finish so I can go to sleep kind of girl. At least try doing it on the
foot of the bed next time!
Or maybe he's staying behind and she's moving into the new house....
Ooh, I'll take that one please.

Wow, I was surprised that the final episode will be a "moving out" theme. Of course, it will be 90% recap footage. So what was that drawing that we saw of the the "Lachey-Simpson Residence"? Is it a house that is supposedly being built, or is it the drawing of the house they're in now? (I need to watch my tape and pause it.) If this last episode was taped weeks ago, you'd think we would have heard about one or both of them taking up a new residence by now. I've seen nothing along the lines of "the couple moved into their new $6.25 million mansion".
This episode was a bit sad and also strange. Did they go to lunch or to dinner at that restaurant? It was awfully bright outside for an evening meal in February. If Nick was only acting his part, then I have to say he's a good actor. He genuinely seemed to care. I noticed that he wrote in her card about how the past two years had been so stressful. He definitely was referring to being on the show and dealing with all the gossip.
I'm going out on a limb and voting that they will not separate soon. Maybe in another year or so -- but I think for now they'll stay together. If not, it will be interesting to see how it's handled as Nick's show progresses.
And yes, Nick spelled "wounded" wrong. He said "wonded". But then I think he corrected himself the second time he said it.
Did anyone pause and read the entire typed message he wrote to Jessica? It seemed like she did not read the entire thing.

Anyone get the feeling Jessica went over the $20 budget just so she won't have to screw Nick for 6 months? 'Cause I sure do...
But the deal was if they went over it was sex every night for six months.
The blind item in the Daily News sounds like it could be Lindsay Lohan.
I read Life and Style and In Touch. They are both saying the same thing. She moved out. It was based on the her car being spotted at Creepy's house. In Touch is also reporting that Nick was spied in a Nashville bar on Saturday with two women. Apparently he was in town for the UK/UC game and one of the chick's daddy told the mag that his kid was chilling with Nick.
The only thing I can't figure out is that I saw Nick on my tv screen Saturday at the game. But it was in Indianapolis. Why would Nick be in Nashville for a game that was played in Indianapolis.
Regarding whether it was VD or not. I think it was. I spied some pics on another board courtesy of the paparazzi buying the merch they used in this episode. It was dated from VD weekend. They were wearing the same clothes from last night's episode.
VD was on a Monday. That could explain the emptiness of the restaurant if they went on that actual date.
Who knows.
ETA:
Did anyone pause and read the entire typed message he wrote to Jessica? It seemed like she did not read the entire thing.
Yup. It had stuff in there about spoiling their grandkids, having each other's back, not being perfect, being the best man he could be. blah blah blah.
It warmed by cold black heart. For a minute.
What was definitely faked was the Icam scene from last week. Nick's jacket and hat were on the counter in the kitchen with Jessica.

I don't think either is right for our Jess. She needs a guy that's more of a has been, so she can flaunt her "success" in his face and kind of keep the power in the relationship. I personally think she loves the fact that Nick doesn't have much of a career right now and she's off making movies. She's almost gleaming with superiority and smugness whenever she tells him about her long days, etc.
I have to say though, I don't think they are separating any time soon, either. Don't get me wrong, I think their marriage is about as real as Bill and Hillary's, but both couples seem to realize their "marriages" are the bread and butter of their careers/money making abilities.

LMiller, I agree with you. I'm in the small minority here because I think they are trying to keep their relationship going and that, although they've had a lot of stress and problems in their marriage, they do love each other. I thought they were cute and rather "normal" in the Valentine's Day episode. I didn't see any "faking" going on. Some married people I know act the way they do, and yeah, they don't have a fabulous marriage but they also aren't getting divorced next week and they keep plugging along. People stay married for a lot of reasons. I also don't think that either of them has had an affair, especially Jessica.
Now, I think Jessica is immature and doesn't really know how to love and be married in an adult way. And I think Nick also was not mature enough himself to see that and he was wrong to have this "plan" to mature her (as if anyone can make anyone else mature).

I looked back at the posts and didn't notice anyone else posting this, but I'm sorry if I missed it. Did anyone else notice when Nick and Jess were at the restaurant in NY, a woman asked for an autograph for her daughter (I think it was for her daughter), and she said it was for "Jordana" and spelled it out. It made me laugh since that is the same name of the girlfriend that Nick had lunch or dinner with not too long ago without Jessucka's knowledge.

I watched the tape tonight and Jessica actually spelled "wounded" correctly when she asked Nick about it. When he finally tells her "w-o-n-d-e-d", she says "That's what I said," although it wasn't. Those two!
Watching the Miami Orange Bowl episode, I get a big laugh when the restaurant server tells the group that they're out of calamari and Jess puts on a funny voice and face and says, "It sucks that I can't have my calamari. Where's your octopus?" Of course, then it devolves into a dumb "is octopus the same as calamari" conversation.

someone typed out the letter Nick wrote to Jessica for v-day
I decided to type the letter this time because you seem to have a little trouble with my handwriting. Let me start by saying how in love with you I am. Even after two years of marriage, every day just seems a little bit better than the one before. Well, most days I can't believe how we've grown together as a couple and as individuals. I know in my heart that if we keep each other first at all times, in spite of all the destructions and stress in our lives, we will win. There will always be challenges, struggles, fights, peace, and even anger to go along with the joy, success, contentment and satisfaction of being a great couple. I am so proud of the fact that we have made it through two of the most stressful years of our lives together. I'll always have your back and I know you'll always have mine. I look forward to the great things that I know we will achieve in the years to come. I look forward to growing old and grey with you. I look forward to watching our kids grow up and become great people. I look forward to spoiling our grandkids and watching them grow up. I look forward to enjoying the journey with you. All the things you achieve in life are made that much sweeter when you are able to share them with the love of your lives. I know I'm not a perfect man nor even close. But I hope you know that I'm trying to be the best man I can be for you and our family, the most important thing in my life. Because you are the important thing in my life. I love you with all that I am, every breath that I take. Happy Valentine's day
