While I don't doubt there is strain and I also read the info about the VMA's from other sources, I don't believe very much of what In Touch writes. They are right up there with US magazine-full of crap. I saw this week that now J-Lo and Marc Anthony are on the verge of a breakup according to In Touch. Whatever it takes to sell mags.

"Yes, I agree. How many celebrity scandals occur each year? Yet, these weekly rags have to come up with space filler... might as well speculate. I doubt any of it is true -- Nick barely had "success" when he wasn't with Jessica, and if he divorces her, his opportunities will be nil. It's almost like they need each other to have any kind of success.

Oh. I hadn't. I'd never heard of Nick Lachey until after he started doing "Newlyweds." I always assumed that his group took a backseat to the Backstreet Boys or N'SYNC and that was the reason I didn't have a clue.
In any event, the rags have to fill space with something, so it might as well be "expert" analysis about why the Lachey-Simpson union is crumbling, even if the notion is completely unfounded. I take it all with a grain of salt.

Hi-Just surfed in-really enjoying all the comments about Jess and Nick. Couldn't agree more! I had actually posted a new thread (still getting the hang of this!) concerning her moaniness in general. Did you see the episode where she keeps harping on about her "bloody booger?" Like blow your nose and shut up! Also (and this is referring to her parents general weirdness)in the episode where Nick performs with the Pussycat Dolls her mother is practically lying on top of her on the bed as she sulks! If my mother did that I'd hit her with a brick!!

98 degrees did take a backseat to N Sync and Backstreet Helter but they were still pretty popular and actually sounded better than N'Sync to me. Also they have said themselves several times that she keeps her money seperate and he keeps his seperate. He quite honestly probably has more than she does but Nick doesn't spend his on everything and everybody all the time like she does. The way that girl spends money, she'll be broke in two years. Of course, they live in California so legally everything she has earned during the marriage he could have whether she says so or not and there isn't anything she or her weirdo parents could do about it.

I didn't mind Jessica's mom lying nearly on top of her. It actually made me wish me and my mom were closer like they are. I am close with my mom but not physically (she's not the huggy kissy type) which I kind of wished she was. However, when she talks about boogers and belches and everything else, it makes my stomach turn. I always thought she was pretty until she did all those things. I'm sure Nick doesn't appreciate it.

Did I hear correctly that Nick and Jessica are separated? I was listening to Howard Stern this morning, and thought he said something about Nick and Jessica taking some time off from one another. Can anyone confirm this, or is this a figment of my imagination?

Oh, I would LOVE this to be true! I'm not quite sure yet. There was a story on MSN.com about this today (which might be where Howard got the idea from), but it's the same "she's more famous- it's causing cracks- reps deny" story that goes around every week or so. If this lasts marriage more than 18 more months- Nick is a bigger person that me though.

I've heard people in real life, people online, people who are supposed to sell this crap say that it's crap, and encourage people not to buy it. I'm assuming most who have bought it are like the 16 year olds I mentioned earlier, though I still find 20 million dollars in sales hard to believe.

Imagine-we get a spliced, heavily-edited half hour programme but Poor Nick has to listen to her drone, belch, fart and talk pure nonsense 24*7 plus try and keep up with her crazy spending sprees. Add to that the fact that she's the type of person who would embarass you constantly with her limited knowledge of just about everything and it must make for a pretty trying time! On another note, I think you could put Christina Aguilera's mother, Britney Spears' mother, Jess Simpson's mother and Justin Timberlake's mother all in a room and not be able to tell them apart. Is it a prerequisite that all Southern Moms look the same??!

I am from the deep deep south and I promise you not all of us talk like that, especially JT's mom. She grates on my nerves talking. I think they overemphasize their southern accents thinking they cute or something when all the do is make the rest of us sound like ding dongs. Also just a sidenote, pageants are big here in the south-don't bash me. Justin Timberlake was a regular on the pageant circuit when he was like 10, 11, 12 years old. I'm talking the kinds of pageants you saw on Showbiz Moms and Dads and he was a contestant not entertainment.

My understanding is that the QVC audience is huge, and they could have easily done millions in sales during a given hour. Lots of people may have thought it was cute and bought it as gifts for teens and young adults.
Of course, that doesn't mean that people who bought it like it and would ever buy it again. There are lots of products that are really hot for a short time and then fizzle away because people bought them on impulse but would never buy them again.

I agree with this. I got to taste it at Sephora in Times Square. The stuff tastes like dying. So if you buy it online or on QVC you have no idea what you're getting. Even folks at Sephora thinks it tastes awful and it's usually young teeny boppers that buy it. Which is disturbing because the packaging is so obviously sexual.
But yeah, the shit is nasty.

One cited reason is that Nick is sick of Jessica's "dumb blonde" behavior, as well as calling her a "pampered bimbo" and saying "If I'd wanted a bimbo, I would have married Paris Hilton."
An insider reported that they were living separate lives and feels that the split could come within a matter of months.

I can't remember him calling her a bimbo either Helter. I do remember the episode when they were in Mexico and walking down the walkway from the resteraunt and he was trying to talk to her and she kept flitting back to the conversation with people behind her while Nick was trying to talk to her. He made the comment then that it was useless to try and talk to her because she would get distracted by something as simple as a butterfly. I took that to mean "you are such an airhead" LOL. I did notice a lot of disgusted looks from him in her direction this season and the only times he seemed really happy was when he was doing things without her and with his brother.

Seriously it cannot be easy to try and have a relationship with people following you all the time and shoving cameras in your face all the time. It's hard enough when you are just an average Jane and Joe, but when you are in the public eye-egads I'd go crazy.

There were also some behind the scenes clips. Basically clips of them singing with Jessica yammering over them about how she gets to sing the song with her husband and how they're pop singers and not r&b singers like the last people who recorded the song. I think it killed a tiny bit of my soul.
