That's so pathetic!!
It's a long way from the cliche'd scene in old westerns where the cowboys start shooting pistols into the air (and usually into the ceiling) to show their appreciation for the music hall girl's performance.
Now, if you were armed at a Jessucka concert, you'd just point at your own head ... and fire.

"He's a trophy husband, a male concubine." And my mom said: "But look what he GETS!"
While I agree with your mom that Jessica doesn't respect Nick, I don't agree he's a trophy husband. Jessica was a semi-star, the kind that serve as filler between the cover story and the last page of any entertainment rag. She hardly seems someone in a position to "keep" someone. If anything, his career was bigger than hers when they got together. Jessica's fame only took off after the marriage and the reality show.
There's got to be a separation pool somewhere, right?

Did anyone read Jessica Simpson Weekly this week? Us had over 20 photos of Jessica in the magazine---roughly every 5th page. Yes, I counted. I found it particularly ingenious that after last week's edition, which featured a layout of Jessica in outfits selected by US' fashion director, she was named best dressed woman this week. Pat yourself on the back much, US?
Also, Jessucka really needs to cut back on the collagen. She now has a little "shelf" above her lip that is really noticeable when she smiles. From fresh-faced ingenue to blow-up doll...it's so sad.

How does Jessica get movie roles? From the evidence we've seen (her dreadful Pizza Hut and Liquid Ice commercials), she's a horrible actress.
No one here ever seems to mention her role on "That '70s Show", and I never saw the episodes she appeared in. How many were there? She apparently played a dumb blonde beach chick that Kelso dated. Did anyone see those shows? Was she any good at doing the comedy stuff, and how did she blend in with that ensemble cast that's been together for ages?

Didn't watch 'em, but I think it was three episodes.
Speaking of her 'acting', she may not have the role of Daisy Duke in the bag after all.
Dukes of Hazzard: Brittany Daniel and Jessica Simpson both apparently screen tested on Thursday at the Warners lot in Burbank alongside two newly customized "General Lee" cars. Shooting begins later this year in Louisiana.

I wrote on this thread a while back about her acting job on That 70's Show. I was horrified. At the end of one episode, she decides to console Eric by singing him a rendition of "I Haven't Got Time For The Pain." Apparently she was supposed to do it all crappy and mangle it all up. Sounds like she'd have no problem right? Well, it was the most horrific scene I've ever watched. She tried so damn hard to make it sound mangled that it was obvious she was trying to make it sound mangled and it was painful to watch. My sister watched it and cringed.

Okay had to google to put a face with Brittany Daniel. I loved her in Club Dread and Joe Dirt! I see her more as a Daisy. I think sometimes Miss Jessica lets her mouth overload her butt and she spouts off about stuff before it actually happens. My husband's sister does this-she bragged about the house they were buying and what all she was going to do to it. They had only looked at the house and after the owner met them refused to return any of their phone calls! Yet to hear her tell it they had already closed on the house. Jess does this. She bragged about her new television series and then it didn't get picked up, then she had Daisy and now someone else is testing as well?
Then again maybe TPTB on the Dukes movie have realized her star is fading fast and people don't really like her and it could hurt the movie rather than help it.

I agree with that. I think they're trying to make her seem in demand by announcing all these projects before they're final. You would think she'd eventually learn, but of course you need functioning brain cells to learn.
Of course, if she doesn't get the movie, she'll say she really didn't want it anyway.
Has anyone heard anything about the follow-up specials? Weren't they supposed to do several more?

Here is some background on
Brittany Daniel.
The main thing I notice is that, unlike Jessica, she is an actress with experience. Seems like the show would have a greater chance of success using an actual actress, call me crazy.

Anyone else read Brittany and think, "huh. That's a weird way to spell it. I always thought it was Britney"?
Just me then? okay...
Moving on, I hope she doesn't get the part. Not because she is a bad actress (because she is), but I really wish bad things for her now. Horrible as that makes me, I want to see her career, marriage, everything fail!
Also, Mr. Hailey was a Dukes FREAK growing up. I know I'll have to see it, and I just can't stomach giving money to the Simps.

I'd only ever seen it spelled "Brittany" until Britney came and rednecked the spelling all up. Well, I guess that blame actually falls on her parents, but still. To me it always seemed lazy or twee to spell it her way, but it seems to be the norm now.

I am delurking to report on a Jessica/Newlyweds related product...
I was going on a cruise last month and I forgot to pack my shampoo and conditioner. So, I stopped by Walgreens and saw Ken Paves' line of products. I thought, well, Jessica does have one thing going for her (most of the time), and that is her hair. Well, I would avoid Ken's products like the plague. I ended up having to use the cruiseline's products (not usually nice for long, color treated hair that needs extra conditioning) as my hair was a tangled mess of knots after using Paves' products. Another $10 down the drain... I should have known something was up when I realized the label was not on the bottle straight.
You have been warned.

I have serious doubts that she washes her hair period. I have read a few interviews where she says she washes it after a bunch of days has gone by. On Newlyweds, when she is at home, having down time, etc., I noticed it always looks dirty.
With the amount of photo shoots and appearances she does, I imagine she never washes it at home, and waits for the next photo shoot or appearance when she gets it all done for her.

Actually, I think I remember reading that also in a People Magazine interview a few months ago. They asked her about her hair and she said she washed it every other day and then they asked her what was the last lie she told and she said it was about washing her hair every other day, it was more like once a 1 week or something right?

I don't know how anyone can look in the mirror and see orange skin, yellow hair, dark roots, spider lashes, glittery pink duck lips and think, "Holy shit! I look good!" And yes, she does look considerably older than her age. What is she? 23 or 24? She's gonna look like hell at 35+. I can't wait!

More details about the
Dukes of Hazzard movie.
Though Jessica Simpson was said to have nabbed the plum, if
drafty role of shorty-shorts devotee Daisy Duke earlier this
year, the part remains up for grabs.
Simpson is in the running, though. She told Access Hollywood
that a recent audition "went amazing."
"I actually wore a short skirt, not shorts," the risk-taking
singer-actress-famous person shared with the TV show.
I assume 'risk taking' is some mild snark. If the director is going to be the Broken Lizard guy, and Brittany Murphy has alread worked with him several times, I'd say Jessica chances are getting smaller and smaller.

Reading the First Coast News article, I was fascinated that J.Simp spits out her gum and hands it to her mother. Nice.
And while I think it suggests she has never really grew up, I don't think I would've expected my mother to handle my masticated leavings after the age of about, I dunno, five?
I used to think that Jessica was stunningly beautiful, but looking at her recent photos, I don't find her attractive anymore at all. Someone's lying to her that those lips look good, and I completely agree with whoever said she looked like a big-haired beauty pageant entrant.

Hey rednecks wouldn't dare spell Brittany that way LOL! I'm a redneck and I always that was the stupidest spelling for her name. Then again I have seen the Desiree` spelled Dezerae because the little girl's parents were stupid and didn't know how to spell the name seriously. I think also that Brittany Spears' name is probably really spelled Brittany but in order to glam it up and make it a stage name they redid it as Britney. I mean these people named one child something like Britney and then named the other one something as mundane and boring and Jamie Lynn? They couldn't have come up with that spelling on their own.
Personally I like unusual names per say because my given name is RARE and as a result I did the same with my daughter but it isn't something people cannot spell or has a stupid spelling. I always liked being the only kid in class named Fawn. There were always five Pam's, two or three Ashley's , two or three Brittany's, and so on. Now in my daughter's class there are two Kristen's, three Aliyah's, three Anna's, it's crazy but only one Liberty. No one forgets it and five others don't turn their head when I call her name in a store LOL.

In this weeks US Weekly there is a particularly awful picture of Jessica with Daisy on page 4. Daisy doen't even look cute anymore to me. Anyways, Jessica is quoted as saying:
" This is my moment for everyone to know that I'm not just a cheesy popstar, that I can sing my butt off!"

Oh how I will laugh if Jessica doesn't get the Daisy Duke role! In her recent interviews about the screen test she kept talking about getting her butt in shape. I guess she thinks that's all that matters. I doubt she took acting lessons or did any research for the role. Didn't she think Daisy Duke was a ditzy blonde? I bet she thinks that she should get the job because she's Southern and has a dog named Daisy.
OT - Around here variations of Britney are more common than Brittany. In fact, I know many people that think spelling it Brittany is silly because no one(here) pronounces the A.-OT
