God talk about a third wheel.
Word! I only see her for a few minutes once a week and I'm already sick of her! Wasn't there some kind of agreement that she would at some point get her own apartment and
get a life? Aside from the first episode where she turned up her nose at perfectly nice apartments with Nick, she has apparently made no effort at all to leave. I cannot imagine how annoying that must be.
And Jessica is not ready for motherhood. Are you kidding me? She would totally treat the thing just like a doll.
(And Nick would, of course, be stuck with its dirty diapers, tantrums, etc.)

I'm surprised no one's mentioned that Cacee tagged along with Nick and Jessica's friends on the spa trip while they stayed to baby-sit Mason.
At least two of us did, including myself. Bygones.
That whole dolphin/mahi-mahi arugment just proved her immaturity. "Let's ask the waiter!" How embarrassing.

If she fucks up another child trying to "learn" how to be a parent, that's not good, but it's perfectly okay to fuck up a poor defenseless child who's already had a tough life.
Somehow, I can't imagine Nick and Jessica adopting a child who has had a tough life. She strikes me as the kind of woman who would definitely want an infant in great health.
I really can't see older child adoption (where it's fairly common for the kids to have had a rough time of it) or special needs adoption (such as babies born with a drug addiction) as being on their radar.
I could be guessing wrong.

And yeah, Ivana Tinkle (hehe!) why was Cacee on that spa trip? That bugged me, too. I wonder if they'd even met her before the trip. Maybe one day she'll find a great guy like Nick...pause... or Tony. Surprised they didn't cover her breakup more.
See I'm not really surprised that CaCee has been mere background fodder for the past few episodes. I think that TPTB thought she would be a good storyline for the first few episodes. See CaCee move in! See CaCee piss off Nick! See Jessica totally ignore her husband for her annoying and woefully monikered friend! I think after that they figured that she would do the normal thing and move out - not stay around all freaking season.

I don't know, Jessica did some charity work in (correct me if I'm wrong) a central/south American country. It might have been Peru. Anyway, it was that village Tina claimed Jessica "saved" because she promoted the headscarves they made or something. I could see Jessica trying to take one of those poor babies home, the same way she tried to take one of those Maltese puppies home.

Jessica has never changed a diaper before?! What did she do to earn spending money when she was a teenager?
I am 26 and have never changed a diaper before either. I worked in an office during high school doing filing, word processing, and receptionist stuff.
My brother was over last night when the show came on and he thinks Nick and his buddy were high( and drunk) during the Mahi-Mahi dinner. Did anyone else notice his blank stares, the giggling, especially when Jessucka said,"Nick why are your eyes so red? Did you open them in the pool or something?"

Ditto for me and I'm 28. I never babysat and was rarely even around small babies. (when I was, their parents were always there so they did diaper changes) I can't blame Jessucka for being inept in that way. But I can blame her for everything else. :)

What she said was that maybe they should adopt first because of all the issues that go along with it.
I figured the "issues" she was talking about was getting pregnant and having to put her career on hold. With an adoption she could immediately hire a nanny and continue on with her life.

I've changed a diaper once in my 20 years. I was baby-sitting, but I've only done that once too. I hated it. I don't mind children that much, but its like puppies. Yeah, they're cute and sweet but taking care of and raising one is a totally different story.

I'm not a parent, but I've changed countless diapers because I babysat constantly from the time I was 12. Not because I like kids. I don't. But because I wanted money. If Jessica didn't do the usual things girls do to earn money (babysit, housekeeping) maybe she was singing at weddings, or something.

I think Jessica's issues would be stretch marks, labor pains, and morning sickness. And she just seems like the type of person who would only want to adopt a blonde-haired, blue eyed child.

I've been over in the Ashlee thread and reading about Jessica living out of hotels, etc. So, I may be unclear as to how early the Simpsons were able to get paying gigs for Jessica. If you can get paid to sing, you don't have to change no stinking diapers. For once, I'll cut her some slack but I'm not going to make a habit of it.

Same here, but I was 35 and my hubby was 40 before we changed our first of millions of diapers.
Just because someone is not around infants during the teenage years/college year or whatever years, doesn't automatically mean they are not capable of being excellent parents; just ask my 2 and 3 year olds they think they have the 2 best parents in the world.
IMHO, I think Nick and Jessica were just fine with the baby - it's Mason's mother who worries me....NO HAT IN THE AZ SUN - is she nuts!

Ditto for me and I'm 28. I never babysat and was rarely even around small babies. (when I was, their parents were always there so they did diaper changes
Same with me, except I'm not 28. I grew up always being around babies since I can remember, around the age of 12-13, I started baby-sitting my younger cousins, my mom was always around to change the dirty diapers for me. Now, at 22 I have changed my fare share of diapers, but I wouldn't expect every woman over the age of 20 to know how or have the experience of changing a diaper. My best friend is 23 and has never changed a diaper, but in no way do I think she'll make a bad parent because of it.
With that said I don't know what "issues" Jessica was talking about when she said they should adopt first. Me personally, I want to adopt first before I have my own kids, simply because I want to be able to give my full attention to my adopted child. I want to be able to offer that child everything he/she deserves, and if I feel like if financially/emotionally I wouldn't be able to do that if I had my own biological child after, I might not have a biological child then. Are Jessica's issues the same as mine? I don't know she didn't go into too much detail about it, but I'm not going to hold it against her for wanting to adopt a child first even though Nick made valid arguments on why a biological child should come first. I think it's something they should discuss seriously.
Mason was a cutie! I'm a firm believer that all babies are cute and I fall instantly in love with them and their pinchable cheeks. If I could reach into the TV and pinch Mason's cheeks, I probably would have. Mason pulling Jessica's hair? Funny. My niece pulling my hair? Not funny, it hurts! Next week, I saw Lea, but I didn't see Drew. I'm going by the assumption that Drew's there because where Lea is Drew is, so hopefully it will be a Drew/Lea episode with NO Casey (still refuse to spell her name the way she spells it).

I believe the charity work was in Mexico when she was younger. Apparently Creepy Pa just drove them across the border and made them play with orphans or something. Jessucka "saved" the village with that crappy shawl she wore incessantly during season 1. I'm pretty sure she's never been to said village.

They definitely dubbed in all of the crying when Mason was with Jessica, apart from the time that she was in the baby’s room when everyone else was outside. You'd think the moronic editors would try to not make it so obvious, even my little brother who has never watch Newlyweds said, "I bet the baby's not actually crying, they probably just recorded it from before."
eh, I just assumed that we were
supposed to get that it was edited - I think the editors were trying to be cute. Whatever.
I really can't see older child adoption (where it's fairly common for the kids to have had a rough time of it) or special needs adoption (such as babies born with a drug addiction) as being on their radar.
I could see it as being on Nick's radar....possibly Jessica's, too, but more because it might make her look like she is interested in helping the less fortunate. (I really don't think she has as much interest in ACTUALLY helping as she does in looking like she helps...gah.)
I figured the "issues" she was talking about was getting pregnant and having to put her career on hold. With an adoption she could immediately hire a nanny and continue on with her life.
ITA - again, she'll LOOK like a good parent, and let the nanny (nannies?) do all the work... "Look - I have a bay-bee! It's a different color from me! Just like Angelina Jolie's baby! Do they have nannies for, like, celebrities?"
I don't think it will be in six months or a year, but after that, Nick's getting old," the 24-year-old Simpson told the magazine.
Bitch... My parents were 30 and 31 when I was born (my sister was born 2 years later) and that was 20 years ago. Don't a lot of people wait to have kids at this point?

I admit, it could certainly be on their radar. Nick volunteering for Big Brothers and Jessica's penchant to pick up helpless beings suggests it's a definite possibility.
If the sight of a dog eating poop was enough to turn Jessica off getting a dog, I can only imagine what the information gathering process for older child, special needs, and international adoptions would do. Paperwork, potential emotional/physical/mental disorders, intense medical care, and home studies... these are not things I see Jessica going through with.
However, she is certainly no stranger to adversity. (I'm thinking about those mean Christians who talked about her boobs!)

Initially, I had the same thought. She's going to the spa with people she just met while her
bestest--I just know she uses that "word"--friend and boss stays home to take care of a baby? But then, after watching Jessica's adventures in babysitting, complete with extra baby wailing added in editing, I realized that I was once again assuming that a reality show is required to have moments of reality in it. Silly me. TPTB just thought it would be funny to see Jessica and Nick handle the baby alone, so Casey had to leave. Seriously, would Jessica ever truly miss out on a spa day?

Cacee is shady. She had no business on that trip.
She makes me almost as uncomfortable as CreepyPa. Maybe it's because I was raised to never be a mooch, but her presence just seems wildly inappropriate to me. When they were getting their pedicures, all I was thinking was,
Hey Cayceigh, who's footing the damn bill? (Get it?) I would be just beyond embarrassed if I was depending on the largesse of my "friend" for everything. Seems to me that CaiSee has realized that she has climbed aboard the gravy train, and she's holding on for dear life.
I have never liked Nick more than I did last night. I always say a good way to judge a man is to see how he acts around kids, even if he doesn't want any of his own. Parenthood lasts forever. What's the rush? Jessica is a very young (read: useless and selfish) 24 and Nick's got a few good years left before he needs hip replacement, so I recommend she relax about children. There'll be plenty of time to raise a family in a few years, when Jessica is a has been.

That first conversation with Nick was so awful. He was - imo - exactly right, and very thoughtful about it and made sense and all, that it'd be good to have parenting experience and be comfortable before taking in a child who may have issues. And she just looks fucking blank. WHY is he with her?

It could have been the mother's request. I know persoanlly I would never let my daughter be changed in public, nor photographed while naked. When she had her first bath in the big tub, we went crazy with the camera taking pictures, but afterwards we felt so guilty about it and put them away. The main reason was that terrible time when people are looking through your photo albums and and they come across one of those pictures, we tried to imagine how embarrassed she might be. But also, because why does anyone need to see a babys behind? What makes it so interesting? We try to teach our kids that their genitles are private, but then we all run around with cameras photgraphong them, where is the sense in that? Mason was on tv for anyone to see and I can completely understand them pixilating his rear end out.

I agre that it was probably the mom that didnt want Mason "in the nude" on national television. I think people make too big a deal about babies being naked. The equipment doesnt work to its full capacity yet, so its not anything indecent. And baby bottoms are so soft, actually , all baby skin is soft, it feels great.
Of course, Im saying people make a big deal about nekkid babies in terms of being at the pool or at the park. I don't think I'd feel comfortable with my child getting his diaper changed for such a frivolous TV show.
