People who are related to or romantically involved with the contest's employers or employees are usually not qualified to enter. For legal and ethical reasons, it just would be bad for any "significant other" of Trump's children to be on this show.
This is a bit different but I remember reading that Raj from TA2 went to the same Prep School as one of Donald's sons.
For what it is worth, I do not think they were in the same graduating class or knew each other personally. As for the worth of a preparatory school alumni connection, I have no clue, since I went to a really large public high school.
This is just a guess, but maybe the producers of the Apprentice are using the Donald’s son’s girlfriend as a plant to see how the contestants interact with each other. Either that or I have watched the Bachelor one too many times.

Junior's fiance is Vanessa Hayden. She is a part-time model/part-time actress. They were engaged in Novemeber, 2004 when Junior gave her a diamond in a Bailey, Banks and Biddle store at a New Jersey shopping mall in front of a crowd of media. Reportedly he received the $100K diamond for free from BB & B in return for the publicity. Can't image where he might have gotten that idea from???

I think Cooler has an interesting idea. Something completely new...could you imagine the winning team waiting for 2 to 3 members of the losing team to return to the suite and nobody returns?? That would be AWESOME to fire an entire team. I know Bren, I am from Memphis also, and from what I remember, he was interviewing for the Apprentice 3 in July and August, then was told in LA that he would be gone for taping from around Sept 20-November 25th. To my knowledge there hasn't been any interviews or casting calls for AP5 and that should already be underway if not completed. There just may not be a TA5 in the spring.

Thanks for the info. I think being in Memphis, I never heard about it, because they hit Nashville instead. At any rate, I do think Cooler does have an interesting idea. We should be able to speculate a little more once the finale date is posted.

Cooler does have an interesting idea, but I doubt it would be done on TA4:
If anything, I'm thinking NBC may try to stretch it into January due to two Thursdays in February being pre-empted for the Olympics.

Either that, or TPTB could pull a TAR and air two episodes back-to-back (before the Olympics, after the Olympics, or one double before and the other double episode after), considering the fact that everything's taped except for the finale.

From the NY Post article I just posted in the Media thread - incomplete, but it's something. We can get to looking now at least.
Brian Mandelbaum, 23, from Old Bethpage, Long Island, a financial whiz-kid
Josh Shaw, 30, one of the founders of GoSmile, a New York-based high-end teeth-whitening company
Clay Lee, 28, a real estate agent from College Station, Texas — and the show's first openly gay contestant
Chris Valletta, 27, a former NFL player who is now an advertising sales exec at KRLD News Radio in Dallas
Jennifer Murphy, 26, an ad sales manager from Los Angeles, was also Miss Oregon
That makes 6/18 with that KY guy mentioned above.

Not really in my opinion. She looks like another generic beauty queen, pretty but not stunning. Like all the beauty queens that have been on all the reality TV shows.

I hear you. What sucks (despite being a minor thing) is that I'll have to spell out her last name (and Mrs. Massey's) in future Survival Games.
Hopefully she's as gorgeous as they say she is. If so, it'll be a classic and traditional thing where she'll probably make it to the live show, only to get played in front of the whole world on live television.

It's possible; difficult but possible. When I first read that, I was thinking five majors, which could actually be achieved with minimal difficulty prior to being 25.
Also, Jen M II? Isn't hot at all. Maybe it's just a bad photo, but she's not that gorgeous.

Rebecca really impresses me, hopefully she will be the kick-butt young girl...and not turn out like Audrey.
Rebecca, 23, was named "One of 20 Teens Who Will Change the World" by Teen People magazine in February 2000 and was awarded a Point of Light by President Clinton. She graduated with honors from the University of Chicago, earning degrees in economics and pre-law.
The photo's are posted at the www.nbc.com/The_Apprentice_4 website. The candidates look older than their given ages because those are not very good pictures. But what is interesting is what some of the candidates have to say in their interviews, especially in answer to final question which asks
Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with Donald, George, or Carolyn, and why?
Some of the answers the candidates give provide a very clear indication of who will not be competing in the final. I think we have this season's first spoiler.

Sep 2, 2005 @ 9:35 pm
Oh, my, yes, it's completely worth the effort to dig through all of the interviews just to see the responses to the last question. Some of the candidates express such utter contempt for one or all three of them (The Hair, George, Carolyn) that it's apparent they do not plan on working for the Trump Organization.
It would be interesting to know at what point during the process those interviews were conducted--I'm guessing that it was during filming or after.
sinclair
Sep 2, 2005 @ 11:10 pm
I think it would have been after/during as one or two of them mention conversations they have had with Carolyn and George -maybe during a rewards session? I agree on how dismissive some of them are one chose Carolyn as a last resort and one said that they would take their chances on the open sea. That question and the past contestants you like are the two that show what these people will be like I think. The rest of the answers are standard interview answers and/or ego-fluffing

The interviews would have to have been conducted after the Apprentice 3 final because they all seem to know that Kendra was the winner.

According to my friend/source at Mark Burnett, I know with TA3 that not only were the interviews conducted after the taping when the final two were known to all candidates, they were asked the interview questions by email only about a week before NBC released all the info about the candidates around December 23rd, 2004. They were having problems with some slackers returning responses. ( Chris, Brian...)

A lot of these folks are not good at a) being concise, and b) answering the question that's asked. It's funny how you can tell which ones got the boot based on the tone of their inteviews.

James TA4 is one of the guys I saw at Dicks' Sporting Goods store in Woodbridge Mall (I'm prety sure it will be week 7). He was gorgeous in person and was great with the small children. Seemed like a strong contender. Josh was also there.

Not that the NBC publicity department hasn't leaked major spoilers before....but I wonder if they re-wrote or faked the responses to that "who would you like to be stranded on an island with" question. Some of the responses are downright scathing.
AmberDawn
Sep 3, 2005 @ 7:55 pm
I think it's a case of the NBC publicity department not realizing what spoiler dynamite they had in the "desert island" interview question. If they were trying to "fake" it, I would expect them to do it in a much less telling way. The spotlight is now on Toral and Clay after the answers they gave. Also, I can't help but wonder if Kelly makes an appearance in a "not George" capacity, and gets either Alla and/or Clay fired. They both seem very down on him. Anyway, we know that James and Josh will be around til at least episode 7 or so.

It's not a flattering set of promo shots, that's for sure.
Okay, maybe I missed this, but which candidate is the "former stripper who's looking to turn her life around"? That's what I recall from the early information about this season's group. Or is that now being buried by the promotional department?
AmberDawn, I see that you asked the same question over on the Media thread? Have you found the answer yet?
AmberDawn
Sep 6, 2005 @ 3:11 pm
I've haven't been able to get any information as to who the ex-stripper might be. I'm inclined to suspect it was Kristi, whose bio said she was an unwed mother at 16, but that's just speculation. The rest all seem to come from to well-heeled a background to have ever gone into stripping.

Looking at the interviews, and given the fact that Trump is crowing about how he personally picked these people, I'm skeptical about the quality of the season already. We already know he's a pretty shitty judge of character (coughcoughJenMvsSandycough). Didn't he say that Season 2 was his favorite?
goobaletta
Sep 7, 2005 @ 6:27 pm
No. He hasn't been really happy since TA1. He tried very hard to like the TA2 folks, but they never measured up to the TA1 cast. And he's been making it very plain that he HATED the cast of TA3. In everything I read about TA1, and that's a yooge amount of material, it was stated repeatedly that he was very hands on in selecting that cast. The problems with TA2 and TA3 occurred when others (coughMB&staffcough) did the bulk of the selecting. TD is an amazingly good administrator and his employees appear to be very loyal for the most part. If he were a poor judge of character I don't think he'd be as successful as he is.
Gah. I must go bleach my brain now. I've just defended TD.

I suppose. Maybe he'll choose based on good business principles rather than who would make good TV? That's the trap he (due to Burnett?) seemed to fall into these past two seasons.
