Oh, I remember that now. But she's not a hick - come out to the softball diamond tonight and I can show you some true hicks!

I do think Tana showed some leadership ability - she did get creative on those shirts as well after they were let down by a vendor.
Magsi2
Is it Tana, Kendra or Kristen that says "Don't be grumpy" on the preview at NBC? I realize they are showing Tana while the voice-over is playing, but I can't decide if it is really her.

I'm fairly sure it's Tana, especially since it follows up with a shot of Brian saying, "We're making the decisions." She did give them broad authority to make decisions in their area. Also, it sounds like something she'd say to coax Brian or maybe Chris out of a peevish mood.
Might it not be just an American flag that Tana cannot locate, might it be an American flag from 911?

That's what I keep thinking.
pinkmamba
Maybe Pataki noticed that the 911 flag was bedazeled- Tana thought it was just a regular flag and wanted to jazz it up -hence the comment from Trump "This is a very big mistake" and the comment from Carolyn "I was amazed, flabbergasted and bewildered on some of the things that happened on the very last task"

I thought the Spolier Thread might be interested in reading about some things Raj said last Wednesday when he spoke at the Philadelphia Business Expo.

Don't post a non-spoiler item in the spoiler thread. That's not what this thread is for.

Here is an article about the Olympians to appear on 'The Apprentice':
Volleyball stars Walsh, McPeak and swimmer Phelps on show.

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/7817470/

Based on the article there will be over 30 American Olympians at the event.

For more information read the press release from the NYC 2012 committee. They list all of the Olympians and their sports and medals.

It is interesting that in the previews for this week, all of the "problem" footage of Kendra was from last week's show but the footage of Tana was mostly from this week's show.
bgk123
Yes, when I viewed the preview video clip at Yahoo for tomorrow's episode it was all about Tana having problems controlling her team. Brian and Chris were doing a sloppy job hanging up the banners and Kristen came over to straighten them out. Things don't appear to be going well for Tana. But gee, I thought that she had such good people and leadership skills - not.
YourNightmare
What a fantastic preview.

A few things to mention:

Brian has the worst English speaking skills I've heard in awhile on TA. 'these ones' 'them signs' I'm trying to teach my daughter right now to stop saying these ones or those ones, so it's an annoying phrase to hear from a grown man.

Kristen is a bitch! Walking away from Tana while she's talking to her is classic fun to watch, but very wrong. She'd be fired in an instant for that action alone in any corporation.

Chris is still a freak, but somewhat mellow this time around. I loved hearing him call Kristen a spazz, as opposed to any number of 4-5 letter words.

Tana is a mess, leadership skills? NOT! She isn't handling her team at all. I wonder if she can fix it in time.

The biggest thing that concerns me about this preview is the possibility of why they're not showing Kendra at all. Are they truly spoiling by saying it's obvious Tana loses or does Kendra screw up so badly they're throwing off us. Ugh!

It looks like Kristen against everyone, Chris & Brian against Kristen and Tana all by herself.

ETA: At least the discussion about Kristen on brochures was confirmed. I hope I don't regret changing my answers to lose a 20% bonus.

The biggest thing that concerns me about this preview is the possibility of why they're not showing Kendra at all.
I've searched high and low, including up and down this thread, through Yahoo, through the official site, on other forums, you name it, and there doesn't seem to be a peep about any serious problems that plagued the result with the Best Buy Video Game Tournament.

Meanwhile, there is nothing but smoke pouring out of Chelsea Piers - a missing flag, a screwed up brochure (maybe), an upset governor, a "big mistake," very unflattering preview footage and slideshows, comments from Carolyn about bad stuff in the final task, a dysfunctional team in shambles -- and, where there's smoke ..
LaraAriadne
and, where there's smoke ...

There's pot?

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I would eat my shoe if Tana actually won. We all know Trump will never hire a "Street Smarts" contestant and the only reason he's hiring a woman this year is because of all the flack for obviously not before when there were women worthy.

Also, I really don't know what I'd do if I were Tana. Fire my entire team then have to do it all myself? That would be impossible. I think it's so stupid to give them these horrific teams (Tana got the worst) because in the real world, the ywould be fired and replaced. It's not realistic for th ebusiness world for these clowns to actually work on such a big event.

I feel bad for Tana, but as I said earlier, I don't think he'd liket a "Street" person win. If he does, I'll eat both of my shoes.
bgk123
A lot of people are pulling for Tana to win so, maybe, as we saw in the preview clip, the show is documenting all of the things that go wrong at this event and letting us see how bad her leadership and management skills are. That way, when Kendra gets hired to be the Apprentice there won't be any feelings that Tana should have been hired. Afterall, Kendra had to deal with Craig for weeks and still kept on winning. Tana bragged about how well she got along with everyone and this was her chance to prove it.
GoddessMelissa
The newest preview mentions that Tana "has trouble locating an American Flag at a key moment."

Usually, when a gov. or the president speaks, they have flags on the stage with them. In this case, I imagine Pataki would have the US, NY, and Olympic flags for this event. I'm talking about Flags on a flagstaff in a flagholder thing.must have more coffee
msrayrudd
I don't think Tana will win either but I do not think her task will be a huge disaster either. The editors always make you think a task will wind up a huge disaster and then everything always pulls together at the end.

Frankly I think all the "huge mistake" editing is too obvious. Yes, Trump is interviewing at Tana's event when he talks about the huge mistake and we know there's some issue with the flag, but he could have just as easily been talking about Kendra's event or even something else that in Trumpy world is a huge mistake.

As for Carolyn's past comments, wouldn't she now be observing Kendra? Why would one viceroy stick with one candidate the whole time? Wouldn't it be hard to make a full evaluation of the candidates performances without having spent equal time with both during planning stages? I would expect to see Carolyn hanging around Kendra in this episode and maybe George with Tana?

In past seasons, George got one candidate and Carolyn got the other. There was no switching around. So far, both of them have backed up the ones they followed (Carolyn preferred Bill and Kelly, while George defended Kwame and Jen). Carolyn's negative confessionals about her may not bode well for Tana, but traditionally G and C have listed weaknesses during the task only to say what a good job their candidate did in the end. So we'll see. Interestingly, Carolyn has had both the winning candidates so far.

Typically, the Yahoo! video preview focuses on one scene from the task, and thus, shows only one team, whereas the NBC preview presents a series of snippets from throughout the show. At least that's my recollection from past weeks.

Also, I haven't seen a mention of this yet, but from Brian's comments in the Yahoo! preview, Kristen's assignment was to handle the brochure. Got that question wrong, heck! I should have known better that to pay attention to Kristen's interview comments, since she's bound to magnify her role in the event.

ETA: By the way, the NBCUMV.COM site posted another batch of photos this morning. Nothing stunning: Trump with Pataki, Trump, Pataki and a group of Olympians, Trump with (probably) Fabolous . . . If interested, check here.

Here is a video clip of an interview with Erin where she talks about working at Webster Hall with Kendra, Danny and Michael

http://www.firstcoastnews.com/entertainmen...x?storyid=37122

She said that they all got along really well and spent a lot of time laughing and supporting Kendra. Erin said that they only got about an hour of sleep to pull the event together.

She said that they did not sabotage the event and are more pacifist unlike the street smart team which did a lot of fighting.

Erin said that she will be at the Final Board room next week.

It's funny because this sort of goes against what Alex said in an interview after he was fired. He said that "previously hostile" teams became friendly and "previously friendly" teams became hostile. I sort of assumed that the previously hostile team was Net Worth and the previously friendly team was Magna. But...clearly, Magna seems to be getting along just fine as they did before. And Net Worth...not so much. Although, Alex could've been talking about the conflict between Michael and Danny as previously hostile but that was nothing compared to the conflict between Brian and Kristen. So, basically, Alex is just stupid and full of shit. I'm glad though because that statement had me worried for Kendra.
bgk123
[Alex is just stupid and full of shit.]

Alex lied to Trump in the board room and got fired. There is no reason to believe anything that he says.

Also, he seems to be very unhappy about how things turned out and how he has been portrayed on the show. If anyone is thinking about sabotaging the final boardroom I'm thinking he would be in on it IMO.
CheekyCricket
If anyone is thinking about sabotaging the final boardroom I'm thinking [Alex] would be in on it IMO.

Only, how could Alex sabotage the final boardroom when he's not part of it? Maybe I've lost the thread of the discussion, here, I'm not sure, because we haven't been talking much about "sabotage" on the spoiler thread. If there's some spoilerish information to that effect, could someone fill me in?
WinCan

In the Fishbowl interview, Kirsten and Brian implied they were planning something, but wouldn't elaborate. Alex wasn't involved in that discussion (his interview was over). If anyone was planning on sabotaging the Finale, it would be Kirsten, who expressed extreme disdain for Tana and for how she was portrayed in the last show.
Blondie
Sheesh! Does Kristen not seem to be the bitterest human on the planet, or what? Whiney, bitchy, easily offended...my doG, she seems to walk around with a perpetual black cloud over her head. So sad.

As a Kendra fan (who is not a former beauty queen), this worries me because Kristen is mightily incompetent. If she is trying to sabotage the Finale against Tana, she'll probably screw up and toss it to her.
bgk123
Remember when Tana and Kendra went back to the suite and found the book of photos of their fallen comrades? They came to Kristen's photo and said:

"She's a pretty girl," Kendra says. "Boy, you know what?" Tana says. "You never see her smile, do you? Look at this. You never see a smile"

Amazingly enough, there are a couple of photos of Kristen smiling on the Yahoo website but on most of them she's showing lots of attitude.

Based on her Fish bowl interview I would be prepared to see her and some of the others try to pull some stunt during the final board room next week when all of them are supposed to be there. Kristen was very unhappy with Tana and she said so were many others. I'm including Alex in this group based on what he has said in subsequent interviews.

Thanks for clarifying that, I didn't remember.

I think it's definitely Kristen doing the plotting along with Brian or Chris. They are angry at the way they were portrayed and didn't like Tana talking against them. Kristen has proven from comments to be bitter from the get go. I do however think Kristen is all talk and no substance. I can see her talking a good game but when push comes to shove next week, sitting there and doing nothing. I also wouldn't take her word for it that everybody else is plotting something because last I knew, most people didn't like Kristen either so I don't see them jumping on board to support her.

I'm not getting the Alex being included though because he has said in more than one interview that he supports Tana over Kendra. I just read an article in the Media section where he was talking to Tana on the phone during the interview and he had a clearly pro-Tana stance. If Alex supports Tana, I don't see him going along with any big plot to undermine her at the final event. Plus Alex may have issues, but I haven't gotten the bitterness from him that Kristen has been spewing since day one. He may be delusional but I don't think he's bitter.

The majority of the past candidates may support Kendra but I don't think they'll be plotting any major coups with her for the final show.
goobaletta
I'm wondering if such supposed plotting wouldn't have the opposite of their desired effect. Also, Kristen's trying sooooo hard to create drama for herself, along the lines of Omarosa I'd bet, that it wouldn't shock me if this ended up to be total misdirection on her part. Or Mr. Metrosexual's for that matter.

Gah. Bring on Martha! She'll eat folks like Kristen alive, spit out the bones, and tromp upon them.
bgk123
I don't think that Alex would do anything against Tana but he might want to do something to embarrass Trump.

Kristen and her gang want to get Tana and Trump.
YourNightmare
As far as all this talk about people 'planning' something, there is a possibility that this is about the boycott that is being discussed in the media thread.

Word is two people were planning a boycott and it failed due to someone's typical incompetence.

As far as sabotaging someone in the final boardroom, it's really not going to be easy to do that with cameras everywhere proving them liars. I'm sure Carolyn, George or even Trump could dispute it easily if anyone were to lie about what happened during the task.

ETA: I can't believe with all that talk about Kristen on brochures and what Kendra was 'offered' I completely missed the obvious who cried. Of course Kendra cried, it was out of character. Damn it. But at least I was right to go back and change my answers because the Kristen speculation was correct and Kendra was offered a job. I'm so glad I brought up that damn word offer. That ended up being obvious. Kendra crying did not!
Magsi2
I can't believe how many fantasy questions I got wrong. No spoilers this week really killed me! No more top 10 for me unless everyone screwed up royally! At least I do have Kendra for my final pick (only after John was fired).....that should help a little bit:)

When do they update the site with the new rankings?

ETA: nevermind, they just updated it. BTW...Congrats CoastCat (8), Firetrump (9) and Amberdawn (17). I only moved down 1 to #10 (not nearly as bad as I first expected!)
parkerjbp
I'm up to 20. And I have Kendra for 325 for next week. Feeling good here! On a side note, did anyone get more than 105 points? I checked about a dozen people around me and he best I saw was 105.
WinCan
Your Final Apprentice Pick is Kendra, selected on Thursday January 27, 4:47:59 AM 2005 PT.
Your pick is worth a potential 925 bonus points. If your Final Apprentice Pick is hired by Donald Trump, you will be awarded the bonus points.

Heh, maybe I can finally climb out of the cellar.
pinkmamba
I was 20 2 weeks ago dropped to 29 this week but I get 925 at the finals so I hope to move up to the top 10.
GreenBean227
Goodbye good score for me....

Bumped down to 21 this week (from 16). I only get 400 bonus points is Kendra wins, hopefully next week I'll do well on fantasy questions.
coastcat
And congrats to you, Magsi2!

Only 87 points for me this week. I blame Kristen. Kendra's victory would give me 700 bonus points. Tana's victory would destroy my faith in mankind.

It's hard to spoil a live finale, so I'm guessing all the questions will pertain to the two teams in the BR. We already know that Kendra's team will praise her and Tana's will trash her thoroughly. Shouldn't be too hard to pick the right answers to Tana-related questions - just look for the most spiteful comments!
parkerjbp
I don't know that this is a spoiler exactly, but I noticed in the extended video that Kendra said "This last 7 weeks". So, the 16 week job interview runs right around 7 weeks.
bgk123
I'm thinking that it will be a lovefest for Kendra in the boardroom next week. Her team mates think highly of her and they all keep in touch with each other.

The entertainment will be provided by Kristen, Brian and Chris as they describe how it was to work with Tana.
ghettofabman
Right now, I wanna take the time and congratulate all you Fantasy Gamers out there and give you early congrats for next week's boom in scores for voting Kendra. pinkmamba, I wouldn't be surprised if you turned out to rank #1, but I will be rooting for you and coastcat as well. I really want a TWoPer in the top spot. As for me, thanks to Tana's major fuckups, I am DOOMED. Hopefully, I can do better than Raj.
YourNightmare
Ugh I dropped 2 spots to 52. I blame the fact that many people are catching up with larger scores. I think that's apparent since AmberDawn went down too. (Sorry AmberDawn) I blew my bonus this week.

Congrats to everyone on your big bonuses! I changed to Kendra two weeks ago and I'll only be getting 100. Sorry ghettofabman, you were loyal to her. Who'd have thought it'd be such a blowout.

Next Monday's questions should be great. I hope there's a lot of snarky comments from the gang. I just realized I might be subjected to Audrey during the finale. Sigh. Hopefully, seeing Tana getting bitched at will make that easier to handle.
charmedguy
Who do you guys think will win?
pocha
Gah. Bring on Martha! She'll eat folks like Kristen alive, spit out the bones, and tromp upon them.

Right after that, she'll pick up the leftover bits and pieces and use them to create a lovely French terrine that she'll serve in a basket made of Kristen's ribcage.
goobaletta
Ah pocha, it's a joy to have you back with us. *blows kisses* And yes, that's precisely what Martha would do. Then she'd wrap it in colored cellophane, tie it with a gingham bow with a jingle bell attached and give it to her staff for their Christmas bonus.

ETA: I want to congratulate all of you dedicated Fantasy Gamers. I admire your dedication. Is there a prize for the top scorer?
YourNightmare
I believe it's the exact same thing I got when I won their fantasy football league game. The biggest, hugest, most amazing blah blah blah. In other words, bragging rights.

I'll admit though, that at least the game was interesting and I enjoyed the questions. I hope they do it for more shows like Survivor and TAR. Hell, I'd never watch the Chaotic mess but I'd play the game!
spindotdat
Things you will see in the live season finale:
  • Darlene Daggett
  • Kelly Perdue
  • Tana's children
  • Kendra's coworkers
Everyone have a fun time - it has been great spoiling all of you, and being spoiled. Catch you in the episode thread (maybe) and the Love Miss Alli thread (definitely), and see you here next season, unless I hear of some more good TA4 or TA4:MS dirt.
polka dots
Thanks for that li'l nugget, spindotdat!

(For some reason, I read "Tana's children" as "Tana's chicken." Sigh. I need new contacts.)

As Masquerade pointed out in the Tana thread, this may make it even more unlikely that Tana will face a Jen M. style roasting. Which is good because I thought that was over the top last season and plus, kids don't need to see that kind of stuff about their parents. But...Tana still needs to get chewed out by G&C for her ridiculous behavior in the last task.
ghettofabman
Much thanks and love, spindotdat for all of your help with the Fantasy Game and spoilers. I think a lot of people are gonna be squirming at the verbal boardroom beatdown Tana is gonna suffer this week. Also, who wants to see such a mindless drone like Kelly?? I know I don't.
Tegan Jovanka
Darlene? I'm guessing that she may offer Tana a QVC job.

As for Kelly, he was OK, if not entertaining. I guess I'll watch him if he's wearing his boxer briefs.
pinkmamba
Darlene? I'm guessing that she may offer Tana a QVC job.

How perfect is that! I do think Tana can be a big success selling and hosting on QVC. She would be totally wrong as Trump's apprentice. But after her last task behavior I would have second thoughts about any job offer. We'll see if Yahoo has a question that will confirm the QVC job offer for Tana.

There was a spoiler somewhere from Tanas friend that said that she did not register her kids to school for September and told her children that they are all moving! That implies a new job. I wonder if Tana already knows before the finale that she will not get the Trump job and that QVC will offer her a position. That will make a jock of the "live finale" where everything has been determined ahead of time. What a farce.
bucketyell
I don't know how old Tana's children are but she could have told them that "mommy's going away for awhile and when I get back, we might be going on a really fun trip". I wouldn't take the spoiler as confirmation that Tana gets any job. I wouldn't enroll my children in school if there was a possbility of a move. Too much paperwork to take care of if I won.

Of course, as a barren married woman, I don't have to worry about that. I would, however, really like a basket. Any chance of getting a consolation basket? I already have the cats and really just want the ice cream...
