The thing is, coupled with Ereka's shot about her new apartment (presumably she didn't have to flip a coin for it), it does seem to be reducing the level of debate to about Grade 7. The two of them are just complete jackasses.

and not living off her husband's income like Omarosa was.
I can see what Ereka was getting at, but she's kind of pissing me off since I live off my husband's income too. Of course, I'm home raising our children, but I'm not paid for that.
I think Ereka is trying very hard to discredit Assorama because of the severity of the charge she levelled against her. Even though Mark Burnett, Donald Trump, Heidi, and the rest of MB's producers say that nothing happened, there are still some who will always look at Ereka as a racist who said the n-word. Ereka is using the strategy of calling out all her other lies so no one can take whatever she says seriously.
Assorama needs to be taken to task about this.

can you summarize what the EW article said? I can't access it since I'm not a subscriber or an AOL user....thanks.
TroyOdds: 2-1
Smartest Move: vs. Katrina on the real estate task
Dumbest Move: Getting Kwame to sign merchandise at Planet Hollywood
Why He Will Win: "good-old-boy charm that masks the cunning businessman beneath"
Why He Won't: "The corn-fed shtick could backfire, and opponents doubt his ethics (see Smartest/Dumbest Move)."
WHAT THE BOSSES SAY ''Heart and soul and humor are his strengths; naïveté is his weakness,'' says ''Apprentice'' exec producer Mark Burnett. Adds Donald Trump: ''The country bumpkin is perhaps more street-smart than any of the city slickers.''
AmyOdds: 3-1
Smartest Move: Hasn't lost her cool, even with the Trump Ice/kicking Omarosa under the table
Dumbest Move: flirtation with Nick
Why She Will Win: "smart, saavy and doesn't make waves"
Why She Won't: "may be too nice to fill Carolyn's ice cold pumps"
WHAT THE BOSSES SAY Burnett: ''Amy is an excellent strategist, an excellent peacemaker. I don't have anything negative to say.'' (Hmmm...is that a cryptic hint?) Says Trump: ''Incredible leader in a very subdued way.''
NickOdds" 7-2
Smartest Move: PM on flea market task, picked Bill and Amy
Dumbest Move: Refusal to research clients on Trump Ice task
Why He Will Win: "He may be a jerk, but the guy gets results: His team won at the flea market, and by following his gut during the art competition, he engineered the biggest victory yet."
Why He Won't: wins may be "dumb luck"
WHAT THE BOSSES SAY ''He's probably one of the best salesmen I've ever seen,'' gushes Burnett. ''His downfall is he continually speaks his mind.'' Trump says: ''Very strong, but sometimes not very diplomatic.''
BillOdds: 6-1
Smartest Move: Using facts and figures to sell Trump Ice and counteract Ereka's "buzz" tactics
Dumbest Move: Letting Ereka's move to take him into the boardroom frazzle him
Why He Will Win: even-keeled personality and fixation on the bottom line
Why He Won't: fades into the background
WHAT THE BOSSES SAY ''Superbright, great ideas,'' says Burnett, ''but stands in the shadows too much.'' Trump's summary: ''Great social skills, good leadership ability.''
KwameOdds: 6-1
Smartest Move: Taking Omarosa into the boardroom and prompting her breakdown
Dumbest Move: picking Meghan as the artist for the art task
Why He Will Win: after flying under the radar, took risk with art task
Why He Won't: may be laying too low
WHAT THE BOSSES SAY ''Kwame's strengths are certainly his education and his desire. [But] he's a little bit like Bill -- he's in the shadows,'' muses Burnett. Trump is all praise: ''Wonderful guy, wonderful skills.''
KatrinaOdds: 10-1
Smartest Move: Used real-estate expertise to get the renovations done in apartment task
Dumbest Move: letting Bill negotiate rent in the same task
Why She Will Win: deflected attention of management failure in realstate task to Troy's "duping"
Why She Won't: She bungled her one chance to shine in her own field, and with Ereka gone, she's now without an ally. Plus, she's annoying.
WHAT THE BOSSES SAY ''Totally dynamic on the negative side, totally dynamic on the positive side,'' says Burnett. Trump hails her ''real estate savvy'' but says, ''she can be duped, though she doesn't think so.''

As a semi-closeted fan of Regis and Kelly, I tape the show and didn't see Thursday morning's host chat until last night. Kelly's a big Apprentice fan and when they were discussing the odds on the remaining players, an audience member said that she was 'praying for Heidi to be fired'. Kelly did a very funny bit about it and all I could think was 'Dude, He's in the tub!' but then again, maybe He wasn't! ;-) Too bad their website is so mid-90s and they don't archive clips very readily.

Andrei Is Hot!!!ANDREI Petrov was an unknown artist last week. Then his paintings were featured on "The Apprentice."

The next day, Petrov's gallery in D.C. sold 18 canvases by 11:30 a.m., and he's sold 100 more via the Internet. The apprentices who sold his work bought his paintings, too. Bill, the cast member from Chicago, has organized an exhibition there. And Ogilvy & Mather want to commission an "Absolut by Petrov" ad.

Here is a transcription of Omarosa and Ereka's appearances on Inside Edition tonight. I typed it on my laptop by pausing and rewinding my VCR. It's pretty darned accurate but no guarantees that it's word-for-word:
"Inside Edition with Deborah Norville"
3/12/2004
{Deborah Norville in the studio)
DN: That Apprentice dustup apparently isn't going away. Donald Trump says they looked at the tapes, they talked to the people, and they can't find any evidence that anyone used the N word on "The Apprentice." Les Trent reports when he spoke today to Omarosa, the woman who made the accusation, she was on the defensive.
{Les Trent with Omarosa in front of a video television screen with video of her in the background}
LT: Did she use the N word?
OM-S: Yes. Come on, I'm not that easy. I'm not going to sit here and go back and forth about an issue I've already been very adamant about.
{video shows shots of female contestants from "The Apprentice" including Ereka and Omarosa}
LT (voice over): Omarosa was evasive when I asked her about the now-infamous accusation she first leveled at fellow apprentice Ereka Ventrini {sic?}during an interview with our Victoria Reconyo (sp?)
[I]{Video of OM-S being interviewed on a sidewalk by VR:}
OM-S: The worst {inaudible} I had was when Ereka used the N word with me, which was not shown on television.
{Back in studio with Les Trent}
OM-S: I think that Ereka is probably a good person and probably very nice to other people. Unfortunately we had a clash on the show.
LT (interrupting): Did she used the N word?
OM-S (continuing to talk while he asks the question): It's all being pushed under the rug and I have moved on.
LT (voice over): Omarosa would not give me a direct answer, but Ereka is lot less vague.
{Les Trent in studio with Ereka}
LT: Did you use the N word?
Ereka: I absolute---- that word does not exist in my vocabulary.
LT (voice over): And Donald Trump is also denying it happened.
{Cut to Donald Trump}
DT: Based on the footage that word was never used. And the footage is very very conclusive.
{Cut to shot of DT firing Heidi}
DT: Heidi, you're fired.
{Shot of Heidi walking to the elevator after being fired}
LT (voice over): Even Heidi Bressler, the latest to be fired from the show, is standing by Ereka.
HB: I've never heard, ever heard Ereka say that. She is not a racist person.
{Back to LT in studio with OM-S}
LT: The problem is that now it seems like it's not just your word against hers, it's your word against everyone's.
OM-S: Hey, everyone can deny it. I know exactly what happened, Les, and I have to deal with that, and I've moved on.
{Shot of Ereka and Omarosa arguing in the kitchen during the show}
LT (voice over): So who is telling the truth? Well, we may find out soon in court. Ereka told us she's seeking legal advice, something Omarosa says, she'd welcome.
{Back to LT and OM-S in studio}
LT: Ereka says she's talking to a lawyer about filing suit.
OM-S: I think she should. I think if we get a copy of the tape and there's an opportunity to see what actually happened, then you know, I'd be interested in seeing what happens.

Getting back to the report of Heidi's comment about the boardroom being the women's downfall, I agree with this. The boardroom is set up as a forum for the apprentice candidates to present themselves in an honest light with a favorable spin, not to get emotional and not to engage each other in a dialogue. Trump's looking for consistency. Quame, though generally being kind of blah or worse in a lot of the tasks (Planet Hollywood, Art Gallery, Pedal Cab), is always straight up and direct in the board room. I think that impresses Trump. The women tended to be less direct, whether it was standing up for their actions, taking responsibility or refraining from engaging in personal shit with each other.
I also think that men are more used to this type of human interaction that's required in the Apprentice game boardroom. Just my observation from a bunch of years in the so-called business world. And, no I didn't "ask my students." (ref. business prof. on The Today Show 3/11).

When Heidi was on Access Hollywood, she commented that "the other women acted like 'you should be happy to have me pose for you (FHM/Playboy)' "
I got the impression that she was sort of chiding the other women for posing. But when the story forst came out 2 weeks ago...there was no mention of Heidi...just Amy. Ereka, Kristi and Katrina. So I wonder if Heidi was really asked at all.

Also on Access Hollywood, Heidi called Carolyn an idiot. ( She said that in the boardroom, Carolyn only ever attacks the women, never the men. Then she said she did a lot of good things on the show like winning when she was PM, so "she looks like an idiot, not me.") Not the smoothest of moves, nor the classiest, I must say.

Slander is a very serious offense.
Definition of slander from Dictionary.com:
1. Law. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.
2. A false and malicious statement or report about someone.
Ereka could file a civil lawsuit against Omarosa and if she can prove that O slandered her, she would be able to hit her with penalties covering a range from loss of business contacts and potentials, to punitive damages which are specifically "punishment" damages and can be really huge.
Slander would ruin O even more than she's done so well for herself.

Except that there
is no tape. And Miss Clinical Personality Disorder 2004 (and 2003, and 2002, and...) will claim that the lack of tape is itself proof of the great conspiracy against her!
For whomever asked upthread: here's the wikipedia page on
libel and slander. It doesn't give specific types of penalties, but it seems that it's mostly considered a civil (rather than criminal) offense, and so I would guess that most penalties would revolve around fines and/or public retraction of slanderous/libelous statements.

It won't matter if it goes to court and Ereka wins. What are they going to do? Show hundreds of hours of tape? The scary thing is, when watching Omarosa in her interviews, she can turn a phrase SOOOOO well...that I can only imagine what a lawyer could do. I think, if Ereka had kept her personal comments to herself and didn't decide to go on the attack the way she did, that she would have had a stronger case. But by getting personal and commenting on Omarosa's education (allegding that Omarosa lied about her Phd when she didn't), commenting that Omarosa "lives off her husband" and "is lazy" and "unstable"...all she did was sink to Omarosa's level. Ereka should leave it to the lawyers to get nasty. She should promote a calm, cool, rational front no matter how irate she is. If not, it will be much easier for a lawyer to "prove" that she is capable of the allegation she is accused of. And..to me...using the word "lazy" to describe an African American, when trying to prove how PC you are...not so smart.

"None of us would go into a boardroom dressed the way we were," she admits. "I don't even own a miniskirt. I would never use my looks. When I worked in finance, I was always playing myself down because I didn't want to distract anybody. But is it us that have the problem, or is it the men? Stop being distracted. We should be able to dress stylish and trendy and be who we are."
A recent quote from Ereka that was in a Miami based newspaper. Doesn't own a mini-skirt?
And Askmen.com did a recent poll of their male readers about whom they thought was the hottest female Apprentice:
Katrina Camoins
Miami, FL
COMMENTS:
She's hot, but it's evident that she's not a great leader. Whether she gets fired or not, she can use her sex appeal to sell us anything, anytime she wants.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ereka Vetrini
COMMENTS:
A determined babe who knows how to manipulate whomever she wants, Ereka is easy on the eyes and we're sure she'd be easy on our other body parts as well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WINNER:
Amy Henry
COMMENTS:
One of the smartest women on the show, Amy is sexy in a Basic Instinct meets Goldilocks way. She's sweet, but it's a very deceptive sweetness.

3) Arnold Schwarzenegger being sworn in as Governor of California;

The Apprentice was the overarching structure for the whole theme of corporate treachery, and they quoted Ereka a lot about Bill "literally" (sic) backstabbing her. I think that the interview
Jojo is referring to is the same one transcripted on page 53 of this thread. If I'm wrong,
Jojo can correct me. But it sounds like the same one that aired earlier in the week on Inside Edition.
I wanted to go back to the Troy interview that ran in USA Today last week and in one of the Idaho dailies. (Meant to get to this earlier, but it got pushed aside by other issues). Two things that are of interest to me:
1) The fact that he even gave the interview given that, as some have talked about above, the candidates normally don't go public until after we see that they have been fired from the show. So why would he do an interview now? Could it be because he won't have a chance to comment before the show is over because he is one of the finalists?
2) In the interview he said he was "cautiously optimistic" about his chances of winning. (I found it humorous that those were the same words both Bill and Troy used to describe their hopes for winning in this week's ep). This, of course, makes me wonder whether or not Troy got to the final two. Otherwise why would he be optimistic if he knows he'll be booted. Of course, this could be smokescreen. Hard to know. It does seem weird that Trump would allow him to run around out there making such statements on the record that would all but give away who one of the finalists is, so I'm skeptical.

I'm in the Boise, Idaho area and just wanted to comment on the Troy interview thoughts. - Just so everyone knows...Troy has been making TV appearances, and had articles in the local paper almost from the start. This is not new, so I don't think that "means" as much as one might suspect. Tomorrow (March 16th) he'll be the featured speaker at the Better Business Bureau's luncheon in downtown Boise, in fact, so I don't think Trump forces the final players to keep completely out of sight at this point. I'm sure they just can't give absolute information about who will be the next to go, etc. :) Just my 2 cents.

OH DEAR GOD...PLEASE TELL ME SOMEONE JUST SAW THE TRUMP AD ON NBC FOR THE MISS USA PAGEANT AND THE APPRENTICE FINALE!!!!
Trump is seated at a boardroom table, detailing how in April NBC will air live the Miss USA Pageant as the Apprentice Finale. He details how the candidates will do anything to win.
Enter Sam in a tiara and MISS USA sash standing with a bouquet of roses. He says..
"They'll do ANYTHING Mr. Trump?"
Trump responds..."Oyyy..Sam...you're still fired."
Cut to Sam doing an impersonation of his own psycho-glare that he gave Trump when originally fired.
Funny, funny, funny stuff. Wonder when the promo with Omaerosa and Ereka in a mud wrestling headlock will appear. I can see it now. Both standing together, hands clasped, waiting to hear which of the has been named MISS TRUMP APPRENTICE....suddenly Trump names Carolyn as the winner and the three of them get into a smackdown right there on the stage.
I can't seem to tag things or else I would have just inlcuded the link.

Heidi: I was really mad at Kristi and NOT because she was bringing me into the boardroom, but because she lied to me. She told me to my face that she would NEVER bring me in, and then I heard her telling Jessie she was. Also Kristi made us go to EVERY FLEA MARKET. Not only was it a waste of time but it was unnecessary. The viewers also did not see that once we found we lost, Kristi RAN into the other team’s arms crying! It was unprofessional and pathetic. You cannot behave that way in corporate America.

RNO: Do you think it was fair of Troy to bring you into the final boardroom over Kwame?
Heidi: I did not think it was fair that Troy brought me in the boardroom. He CLEARLY had an alliance with Kwame and this is not Survivor. Ereka got fired because she used her emotions in the boardroom. TROY DID THE SAME THING. Kwame even admitted he did not do a good job. If I had fought and brought up that point, I am confident Mr. Trump would have fired Troy. In business, you cannot do that. Mr. Trump would never want to hire someone that makes decisions based on friendships. That could ruin a business.
