Bam! Topic it up a notch.

Bam! Topic it up a notch.

And to make this post much more on topic, here's an article about Apprentice 2.

Seems to me that "recruitment tour" is a misnomer . . . it's really more of a casting call. And curiously enough, not to any college campuses during the summer with any of the other previous apprentices. Hmmm.

Conan just announced that Omarosa will be on his show tomorrow night.
BibiBella
Conan just announced that Omarosa will be on his show tomorrow night.

Damn! I hate that she's getting so much media attention, fueling that wacked-out ego of hers even more. I'm sure she thinks it's because she's so fabulous, not because we're all laughing at her...aren't her 15 minutes already up?!!
Mama Tiger
I think they were up about 20 minutes ago.

So far all I've watched was about half of her Today Show interview, and that was so nausea-inducing I turned it off and went to work. I just wish they'd all stop giving her the attention she craves -- or maybe they're all as fascinated (in a sick way) as we are to see how long she can keep up this crap? Probably forever, is the problem; self-delusion has become a way of life, in her case.
goobaletta
Maybe Conan will be harder on her than other interviewers. His wit is such, however, that barbs will more than likely go completely over her head.

Frankly, I'd like to see Letterman, Bill Maher (sp?), or Dennis Miller get hold of her. Or better yet -- Jon Stewart.
mrtv
When Conan announced the upcoming Assorama, the crowd actually boo'd.
Curby
I suppose if she's booed tonight on Conan, she will simply state that the audience did not embrace diversity.

Sam must have bought a featured/sponsor link on Google. If I do an online Google for the exact phrase "The Apprentice" I get a list of all of the resources and to the right a sponsor box that advertises Sam's website. He must have bought keywords, because his sponsor box came up when I did a Nick Warnock and Bill Rancic serach, too.
BibiBella
Omarosa is one of several reality show contestants on The View right now...she, of course, trotted out her favorite lines about the see-ment injury ("I was walking around for several weeks with a concussion"); the part where she burst in on Trump ("I was told I'd have a private moment - with the cameras off - with Trump to discuss my injury") - Star busted her on that by saying, "Oh come on, you think they were going to turn off the cameras for that? That's when they turn the cameras ON". They brought up the 'pot calling the kettle black' bit to which Oma said that 'the person used the N word which is unforgivable, but that was edited out."

Same old, same old. She was in full beauty pageant mode, as usual too.
Curby
If I was Ereka, I would be pissed. If Oma is accusing Ereka (I only assume it's her she's referring to) of using the N word, there needs to be evidence. Just like Oma to try and disparage anyone in her way. She even said that Caroyn was afraid of her. I. HATE. ASSORAMA!!!!
SummerBaby
They brought up the 'pot calling the kettle black' bit to which Oma said that 'the person used the N word which is unforgivable, but that was edited out."

If that were the case, she would have made a big stink about it as often as possible before the cameras. She would have quoted 'the person' in an attempt to strengthen her argument when she WAS on camera objecting to the phrase 'the pot calling the kettle black'.

Funny how she doesn't name anyone, but refered to her as 'the person'. Is that her attempt to avoid committing slander? Seeing how she's twisted everything I wouldn't believe anything she says. Zero credibility.
ClaytonBigsby
Ok. Well know we play the waiting game. O has gone on national TV and stated that Ereka said a racial slur, now if Ereka didn't say it, she would respond.
AlmondEyes
The irony with all of Omarosa's appearances is she doesn't realize that people are not laughing with her; they're laughing AT her. As well they should. And they should throw some see-ment at her head, just for good measure. I love Conan but I'm done with her media road show. Just done.
peacheskdd
If anyone lives in Chicago, Oma will be on 101.9 FM the Mix tomorrow morning. They are going to let her have it, but I wouldn't be surprised if she disarms them, somehow. Just like Lester, Chris and the rest, she just seems to cut people off at the knees. I think it's because she has an answer/excuse. for. everything. and she's almost never caught off guard with the ums, and the ahs. It's like she's got talking points all worked out.

I don't know what time she's supposed to be on tomorrow, but I'll listen if I can.
Lady T
Regarding the alleged racist incident, on The View this morning, Assorama added that it was 3 a.m. and "the person" was drunk when it happened, but it was still "unforgiveable". So, now Ereka was drunk!! Listen up, Assface: putting more and more detail into the story doesn't make it more believeable, it just makes it easier to disprove! Sheesh.

But, hey, I love that Assy's getting so many media appearances, because the more she talks, the more she contradicts herself and digs herself into a bigger hole. But it's time for Ereka to do more speaking up publicly if she didn't use the "N-bomb" during the show, because this is getting ridiculous.
rainbowbrite

Well she DID work for the Clinton administration. I'm not surprised she's adept at talking in circles.

Back to general media. Did anyone know that ABC was originally offered "The Apprentice" but declined to pick it up?

NY Times article
BibiBella
peacheskdd, interesting about ABC being offered the show first...I'd never heard that. But not surprising that it's not there given how dysfunctional the networks sounds (from the article) and how many folks have to agree on a show before it gets a 'go'. Bet they're sorry now!
Ms. Anthrope
Just have to share the pain: I'm watching The View right now. Joe Millionaire dude is talking about how he has "the attention span of a peanut" (heh) and couldn't even sit still long enough to watch his own reality show. At which point Omarosa interrupts with her little-girl whiny-voice (the one we never heard on Apprentice but are now hearing in every single interview): "What, you didn't watch miiiiiine?" Proving once again that It's All About Omarosa.

*gag*
kattam6175
Is this the first time Assy's said anything publicly about someone supposedly saying the "N word"? If so - and she is, in fact, lying about it - she needs to be called on it immediately. She's basically slandering Ereka and implying that DT and company turned a blind eye to blatant racism.

I wonder if she's throwing in the "they were drunk at the time" part now so she can claim they must have been so drunk they don't remember saying it. Scheming, conniving bitch (tm Amy).
BibiBella
kattam, I haven't seen every interview O has given (my tolerance for her has a limit otherwise I start gagging), but of all the ones I've seen, yes, this is the first time I've heard it.

I think tossing around an accusation like that would meet the legal definition of slander, and that's why Oma keeps saying "the person" instead of "Ereka." I also think that's why she tossed out the drunk excuse to protect herself as well. But Miss Alli can address the legal ramifications of either Ereka or Assorama being a complete jackass more definitively than I can.

I'm inclined to think she's lying just because there's no way Mark Burnett would let reality TV gold like the N word (N bomb?) slip through his fingers.
mickif
Ah, but Kattam, she didn't actually say it was Ereka.

Funny how she doesn't name anyone, but refered to her as 'the person'. Is that her attempt to avoid committing slander?

I would think so. Any lawyers in the house? If O implies it's Ereka without actually saying her name is it still slander?
Circling Shark
Assorama's appearance on "The View" this morning really was something. She's now implying that Ereka called her the N-word whilst drunk around 3 in the morning? Does she even know the meaning of the term 'pathological liar'? Much as I dislike Ereka, I really wish there were some way her lawyers could call out this psychotic bitch. Don't they have footage that could disprove her?
(I know, I know, she could be telling the truth, but...just...yeah.)

I would think so. Any lawyers in the house? If O implies it's Ereka without actually saying her name is it still slander?

I would like to know as well; even though she didn't name Ereka, she did more than imply that it was the same person who made the "pot/kettle" comment which, to me, is as good as naming Ereka.

ETA to reply to the above point
Fipps
What struck me about The View appearance this morning was Star Jones' body language. Even though she was seated furthest away from Omarosa, she was leaning in the opposite direction and not making eye contact with Assorama. Also, Star did not get in on the "N-bomb" conversation, she didn't even acknowledge it. That speaks volumes of how Star feels about Omarosa.

Here's an article I found on Heidi which was originally published right before the show premiered.

Ms. Anthrope
Wow, is that ever some bad writing. I'm starting a collection to buy them an editor.
archer1267

Well, with her repeatedly saying that she was booted because she's a SBW (Strong Black Woman), the implication's there that DT has a problem with SBWs. After all, he made the firing decision. So every time she makes her firing about race, she's essentially slamming Trump.

Speaking of Omarosa, why did I think of her when I came to this in the article about Heidi?

Still, “I just do not have to announce it to every person I meet,” she says of her unwillingness to trumpet her accomplishments as a ubiquitous calling card.
mrtv
So now Eraka called Assorama a nigger when she was drunk?

This is the asswholish-brilliance of Assorama.

Assorama: Ereka how dare you call me a nigger?

Ereka: I never said that.

Assorama: Of course you don't remember, you were drunk

P.S.

Please give us a rundown of her chicago radio interview.

The New York Times article peacheskdd linked states that NBC is paying 1.5 million per episode. Unless Trump is getting 80% of that cash personally, I can not imagine where all the money is going.
RhondaGC
I thought it had been leaked before that TD was getting $1 million per ep for the next season. Of course, he is always quick to point out that it is "peanuts" compared to his usual type of salary. (PS--Donald, if you can't think of anything else to do with it, I have a few suggestions!)
KLC
Yet another deluded and delusional interview with Miss Maginault-Stallworth, courtesy of ESPN Page 3's Ten Burning Questions.

My favorite quotes?

It's amazing. The amount of love I've been getting from the public is incredible. After I did the "Today" show, I spent hours taking pictures and signing autographs and those kinds of things.

and, for the fashion mavens in the house... pageanterrific business wear! Pink scarves, jaunty berets, see-ment shoes, oh my!

You're going to see a line of Omarosa business suits and business accessories. You're going to see a couple of book deals that I'm cutting, and I'm also negotiating a talk show. You're going to see a whole lot from me. In the last two days, the calls have not stopped so there may be even more on the horizon.
The Last Dodo
In the last two days, the calls have not stopped

It doesn't count when you keep asking the operator to call you back a la Jan Brady.

Bowie was on the radio here in Dallas this morning for his usual Wednesday stint. They of course talked about Omarosa. He said among other things that she brought back the tiny patch of dry wall that hit her and kept it on her bedside table. Then Burnett and the producers took it away from her.

Bowie also said that she immediately called a lawyer when they got back to the suite. She then went to the emergency room. Apparently they thought she was setting up a lawsuit since she called the lawyer first.

The best part was that he said that she was really hated by all the crew. The control room is adjacent to the boardroom set and when DT fired her the crew cheered so loud that they could hear it in the boardroom. Pretty fun!!
My name is Kenn
Weird. How would he know? He was long gone by then.
MaryWebGirl
Do they say how Bowie knows all that Jakester? I'm guessing he's friends with people who stuck around longer than he did or there was a lot of gossip in the Land of Misfit Apprentices (the place where they sequestered the fired).
DariaG
I would guess that Bowie talked to Heidi.

I like that he has a weekly radio analysis. Your reports on these make him sound cooler than he seemed on TV.
miaK
Quite an article, KLC. Here's what I enjoyed snorting over:

We would have these sessions where there was so much information to extract, if you were wise. So I observed everything he did, and I took mental notes of every single way that he executed in business.

If you were wise! As Omarosa obviously thinks she is! Did anybody else picture a thought balloon with sheets of paper floating from a little Donald icon to a little Oma icon? "saving data ... saving data ... saving d"

I look at my little sister Camille who is also at Howard University. She's angry, and she's got a chip on her shoulder. How can you portray ever African American woman the same way on every single reality show?

I don't get this comment. Camille is unfairly portrayed as angry? She just said that she's angry and has a chip on her shoulder. And although the portrayal of all minorities in the media has a ways to go, I don't really think that black women have been portrayed as all the same. Anyway, unless that was an impersonator that I was watching every week, Omagawdshudduppa said and did every nasty thing that they broadcast on the show. Bitch is crazy.

There are other sides to us. We're dynamic, we're spontaneous, caring and loving and you never see that side of us, and it's unfortunate.

Child, please. It's reality television, not a biography of spontaneous, caring, loving women -- which honestly would have no viewership and she wouldn't be invited to participate in it anyway. Also funny that she used the word "spontaneous." She is the least spontaneous, most calculating person I've seen on TV in I don't know how long.
Honey Dew
O was on The Donny Simpson show (95.5 FM in Washington, D.C.) this a.m. Donny is an easy-going guy so the interview was very tame and lame. She went on about all the offers she's getting to do TV shows, etc. She claims she's going to give corporate-sponsored talks around the U.S. and that The Donald loves her (her words). She also spoke on having one credit hour left (defensive dissertation) for her PhD from Howard U. Oh yeah...I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before...she said stuff from week1 was edited into episode 4 and the "confrontation" with Carolyn in episode 9 actually happened in week 4, or something like that.
Kromm
I see... since the crew took away the drywall, Omarosa's "concussion" and lack of access to the material morphed the plaster into see-ment in her mind!

As for the "N" word accusations, the problem isn't that it's inherently unbelievable, its that--as usual--the details keep morphing. First she talks about the pot/kettle incident without any reference to this alleged earlier incident. Then she mentions it in another interview. Then in another she says that she asked for the cameras to be turned off and the producers miraculously listened. Now she claims it was in the middle of the night or something, and alcohol was involved (thus conveniently making it seem like she was being tolerant and forgiving due to the drunkenness and also ducking the issue of the cameras being on or off).

Also, when Star Jones has a distaste for you based on you being "too pushy", you should know there's a problem. :-)

I've also come to the personal conclusion that even in the unlikely case that the "N" word accusations were somehow 100% true, that Assy has shown so much other hostility, so much cluelessness and so many other bad behaviors that one doesn't excuse the other. Assy's problems went far beyond Ereka--she alienated everyone around her, from Donald Trump to the lowest peon on the crew.

Word, Beblue! I don't get it either. I'm not in that business so maybe I'm not seeing it, but wow. I thought that one of the selling points of a reality show is that the production costs are low and the rewards high. Perhaps in light of Apprentice's revenues, 1.5 mil ranks low in production costs.

That article was interesting - ABC had the opportunity to land Survivor and Apprentice, then fucked up because too many people had to sign off on it?? And now the network is struggling? Someone over at ABC has got some serious 'splaining to do. No wonder the Disney shareholders are trying to force Eisner out. Even if that person is still working at ABC, I bet they'll never serve lunch in this town again.
Gringa
"We're dynamic, we're spontaneous, caring and loving and you never see that side of us, and it's unfortunate."

God, that is offensive to me. She doesn't like being "characterized" in a negative manner (by her own actions in front of the camera, but whatever), but then she just generalizes about SBW in a really fucking insulting way. See, the thing is that it's OKAY for some women to be absolute lunatic bitches, it doesn't mean that all women are lunatic bitches. See how that works, Omarosa? See?

I hate that she compares herself to any other women at all. You are you, Assorama, and not the fucking standard against what all your "sisters" are going to be judged. She's more insulting to black women in business than anyone I saw on that program or have seen in the course of my own career in a long time. Leave other women out of your delusional cries of intimidation-based bad editing, or just shut up and go away. Far, far away.
bpr
$1.5 million per show is incredibly cheap by network standards. Just looking at other shows on NBC, the license fee for "Frasier" is $5.2 million per episode, "Friends" is at like $6 or $8 million, and ER is at $13 million per episode. NBC paying just one-and-a-half for a big hit like "The Apprentice" is a steal.
Jakester
Bowie has never come out and said how he knows this stuff but I always assumed it was told to him from someone who was there. He has said in prior appearances that they all got to be friendlier and hung out together after they were fired. He even became good friends with Sam. He said that Sam was really fun and cool - still a strange guy though.

[I like that he has a weekly radio analysis. Your reports on these make him sound cooler than he seemed on TV.]

He is coming across much cooler than I thought too. His original appearance on the Edge was on the phone but they had so much fun with him that they asked him to come back the next week. He is now actually going to the studio to do the bits.
Hawkwild

You folks are so silly! It's going into the fantabulous rewards! Surely you've noticed how opulent they are.

Seriously, do you know how many people DT probably has to keep on his household staff to make sure his 20 foot high, 8 inch thick gold plated front door is blindingly shiny every day? (Oh, that's right...they're probably paid $5 an hour off the books.)

I guess he just pockets it, then. I hope that Carolyn and George are getting something good out of this (besides the unqualified adoration of the TWoP community).
jennifuh
I missed the Omarosa Chicago radio interview because it happened after 9am, but they replay the morning show every night at 9pm, so maybe I, or another Chicagoan, can catch it then.
