So both messed around with Raj and were *still* insufferable to work with? I guess that's not much testament to Raj's romantic powers.

Heidi Bressler's commentary about the episode under discussion includes an observation that Jen M is applying makeup "constantly". The logic of how one second equates 'constantly' eludes me.
Heidi being critical of the way someone applies their makeup? Call Omarosa because someone is calling a kettle black, or something like that. Has this hag ever looked in a mirror. Heidi looks like she applied her makeup with Homer Simpsons makeup gun, set on whore!

TVGO: You'd have to curtail your sexual appetite, otherwise a scandal is just waiting to happen.

"Omarosa was one of the best characters in recent memory. I would have kept her on the show longer."
Argh! So tired of this "I/he/she was playing a character" comment. Is he saying that Omarosa was playing a role and isn't really the Omarosa we saw on the show?
I'm tired of that line from reality show types, too. But I read that quote (and the Salon story in general) as meaning not that Omarosa was playing a role, but that the TV executives see these people as "characters." They don't see them as documentary subjects, and certainly not as potential business leaders. In other words, it's a flat-out admission that the
announced purpose of the show -- to find a talented apprentice for Trump or Branson -- is not the
actual purpose. These shows are for entertainment purposes only.
But after watching the Apprenti flail around for a few weeks, I can't say that admission is a surprise.

There is so much wrong with this statement that I barely know where to start. First of all, Raj, my dear, someone of your tender years referring to women as "young ladies?" Bite me. Grannies can refer to "young ladies," as can parents talking to their female minor children who have just misbehaved. You? Shut up.
Also, the amount of ego it shows that you think you're "boosting their confidence?" Bite me.

Big fat WORD
wordslinger. It also hits on a major reason why the second season sucks-by focusing more on entertainment purposes instead of any semblance of real business competition they actually made the show LESS entertaining to watch. It also I suspect accounts for why this season's applicants seem so much more nasty and worse yet, much MUCH less competant than last season's crop-they weren't looking for entrepenuers they were looking to get a whole "cast" of Omorasa's. Plenty of intelligent, professional, businesswomen out there who are fair and ethical in their dealings AND make an effort to look presentable-but no Burnett wanted the kinds of women who would wear stilletto heels and tank tops in a business setting, plus the types he could count on to have good friction. We've all seen how its worked out. Sorry for sounding bitter, but all that talk about their "care" in casting just reiterates my feeling that they went out of their way to put together the WORST bunch they could find. Seriously randomly selected people off the street would probably perform better on the tasks, (and be way nicer to each other,) than this crew.

Chris was just on the Today Show. Other than an annoying habit of responding to almost every question with "It is what it is," he had a few interesting tidbits:
-- There was a lot in that boardroom that we weren't shown, which he implied meant that although we heard Trump comment that he might have fired Jen, that just wasn't so.
-- He got along fine with Kevin and Ivana but was like "oil and water" with Jen, so he excused her to show Trump that business is business and he wouldn't let personal relationships interfere with business judgments (although he also said Jen did the least bad job of the bunch).
-- And in contradiction to that last statement, he said that it was Ivana and Jen's job to get advertising out on The Knot for that team, too, since the guys were busy "schlepping dresses around," but it didn't happen -- but not one single word about why not. Which seems to me that if they were supposed to and didn't, that would have been total grounds for firing for either (or both) of them.
All in all, he came across okay. Matt basically just tossed him a couple of softballs and didn't follow up, so it wasn't exactly Must See TV.
ETA it's rare I'm not the most long-winded person around, RondaGC, but it's good to know that my insufficiently caffeinated brain heard what it heard!

Just watched Chris on Today. He seemed a little more laid back and amiable than he did on the show. But then most of them do when the pressure is off. I was impressed because he didn't try to dodge responsibility or complain that the task was unfair, but admitted his team (including him) did a lousy job. He also defended his decision to not bring Jenn to the final table by saying, again, that he really believed she did the best job on the task. He said even though he didn't care for her personally while he was friendly with both Kevin and Ivana (ew!) he wanted to show Trump that he can overlook the personal and give credit where it is due. Or something.
By far the most interesting part, though, was his mention of the fact that the ladies (Ivana and Jenn) were supposed to work on marketing through theknot.com, but when he came back from wherever he'd gone, he discovered that it never got done. That was interesting because it shows that they *did* know about the possibilities of marketing through this site, and so could have done a much better marketing job than they did.
This angers me because the only reasons I can imagine that Ivana and Jenn didn't do the web marketing is because they wanted the team to lose so Chris would be fired. I would totally not put it past either of them to plan such a sabotage, although it would be a little weird to see them working together given their feelings for each other. But I guess it would be one of that axis of evil kind of things.
I have to wonder: if Chris knew they lost because of marketing, and knew that Jenn was partly responsible for not performing said marketing properly, then how could he say in the BR that she did a good enough job to warrant going back to the suite? I wish Matt had asked him that question.
ETA: Dang it, Mama Tiger! I've really got to learn to be more succinct or something.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DONALD TRUMP, THE ROCKETTES HELP SALVATION ARMY
TO “KICK OFF” ANNUAL KETTLE EFFORT AT TRUMP TOWER
Real estate magnate Donald Trump and Radio City’s Rockettes will help The Salvation Army of Greater New York “kick off” its Annual Christmas Kettle Effort on Tuesday, Nov. 23, noon, at Trump Tower, 56th and Fifth Ave.
As part of the ceremony, Trump will issue a fund raising challenge to The Salvation Army’s “apprentices” – cadets from the organization’s School for Officer Training. If the “apprentices” don’t meet the challenge, well…
Joining Trump for the official start to the Christmas Kettle Effort will be the most appropriate group to “kick off” an event, the world famous Rockettes.
For more than 100 years, The Salvation Army has been raising funds through its familiar red kettles, manned by uniformed bell ringers. On street corners and in shopping malls throughout the Greater New York area, The Salvation Army will have more than 300 kettle locations and in excess of 1,000 volunteers assisting with the campaign.
The Greater New York Division has set a goal of $1.5 million to be collected through the red kettles.
Funds raised through the kettles help the religious/charitable organization to reach out to thousands of needy individuals during the holiday season and throughout the rest of the year.
"The red kettle is a very visible and important part of The Salvation Army’s holiday effort,” said Lt. Colonel Néstor Nüesch, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army’s 14-county Greater New York Division. “Without these donations, the holiday season will be less bright for many men, women and children.”
Colonel Nüesch and other Salvation Army officials will participate in the ceremony. Also bringing greetings will be the Chairman of The Salvation Army’s Greater New York Advisory Board, John Hatab of PriceWaterhouseCooper.
The event will include lots of festive holiday music by a Salvation Army brass ensemble and a public carol sing-along.

The most horrible thing Omarosa said, though, didn't have anything to do with Heidi or Ereka...it had to do with Kwame. When they were talking about the final teams for Kwame and Bill, Omarosa said that she did not want to be selected by Kwame BECAUSE SHE BLAMED HIM FOR HER BEING FIRED FROM THE GAME. I can safely say now that Kwame lost the 1st Apprenticeship when he lost that coin toss to Bill, because not only was he going to get stuck with Omarosa in any case, but she was going to be a complete bitch whether he'd taken her first, second or last.
