goobaletta, thanks from all of us. We know how hard you work on finding this stuff. I'm so lazy, I'd probably be able to find the stuff on the NBC website, and that's about it. So you are much appreciated!

Why, why, why would anyone ask about the Louis Vuitton knockoff? To Pamela, or anyone for that matter. I just don't understand that mentality!

"How can you go to Syracuse with any sort of anti-Semitic bone in your body?" Crisafulli said, referring to the school's reputation for having a high number of Jewish students. "The term 'jap' (short for Jewish-American princess), at Syracuse, is celebrated."

Two things popped to mind after reading this:
  • I thought it was made pretty clear that some Jewish people don't mind this term when it's used by other Jewish people, but don't appreciate it in general, and
  • She's put to rest the question of whether or not she used the term at all. You don't need to defend it if you didn't say it.
She really needs to learn to shut her mouth and let things die down. Pssssst, Jen? It's really not all about you.
NYCMoxi
One alumna, Jennifer Crisafulli, SU class of '92, stayed home.

Class of 92? And Miss Crisafulli claims to be 31?

Yeah, not likely. I'm class of 91 and I'll be 36 in December. 31 my ass.
DolphinFan

She could have skipped a few grades and finished high school early. Also, is she was born between say mid-September and the end of December, then she could have graduated from Syracuse (presuming the graduation was in the first half of May) at an earlier calendar age. I know of several people in my high school class who officially graduated at 17 instead of 18, though they were right around the corner from 18. She also could have finished at Syracuse in 3 years, which is also not unprecedented--indeed, the star of UCONN's men's basketball national champions got his degree in 3 years!

It's not impossible, and it's also not like having that kind of superstar academic background would have hurt her in the casting process. It would be something that stood out amongst the million or so folks who did apply.

Bill's Chicago Digs from the Chicago Tribune.

Not a bad article, and I was not surprised to learn that Bill has rotting guacamole in his fridge.

Thanks for posting, Sureshot26. It should be noted that the Tribune needs free registration. (I can't believe I missed that article!)

Damn good point.

Great column featuring Gael...including a shout out to Miss Alli, if I'm not mistaken.

UGH! I wish Jenn C would shut the fuck up. The more she talks, the dumber she looks and the more I can't stand her:

"How can you go to Syracuse with any sort of anti-Semitic bone in your body?" Crisafulli said, referring to the school's reputation for having a high number of Jewish students. "The term 'jap' (short for Jewish-American princess), at Syracuse, is celebrated."

Since when is "JAP" a "celebrated" word??? Especially when used by non-Jews??

Instead of placing the blame on herself, Crisafulli blames the previous generation's misconceptions of today's world as the reason for her recent misfortune.

"Our generation is very open and much more accepting," Crisafulli said. "Things aren't bad when you talk about black, white, purple, blue or green."

Huh? So... it's not her fault, it's the fault of old people? I don't get it. I'm 20, so I suppose I'm part of a younger generatiom than Jen C, but NONE of my friends go around "celebrating" the word "JAP". Maybe this phenomenon skips a generation...
BlackOrchid
I'm 34 and graduated with BA in 1991. I was also born in November - that time when you can slip through to the next year, so I got out of HS at 17. (So I'm about to turn 35)

NO WAY is Jen C. any younger than 33 - unless she skipped TWO years somewhere along the way.

ETA - Why in hell do they all lie about their ages? Is it because an Apprentice can't be older than 30?

EagainTA - Crisafulli is an "IAP" anyways.
Vermicious Knid
The Daily News article with Stacie J. was actually reprinting quotes from an interview in Steppin' Out. I checked the website and it isn't up yet, so maybe somebody in the NYC area could pick one up and see if she was quoted out of context.

I went to Jewish summer camps full of classic stereotypical JAPs and even there it was always a pejorative.
actonj
Jen C.'s comments about the Jewish ladies are being printed all over the press as "jewish ladies". She did not use the word 'ladies'. She used some other pejorative nouns. I have to wonder whether anyone would be insulted if she had left the word 'jewish' out - and I don't think so. It seems it's okay to insult elderly women, but don't add any ethnicity to it. Doesn't Douglas Elliman have elderly female clients that are not Jewish? I certainly wouldn't want to be her client if I was an older woman.

TVGO: Any interest in breaking into the entertainment biz to become an actor or something?
Pamela: What do you think I should do?

TVGO: Honestly? Keep your day job.          TVGO article

Wow, insightful. Thought provoking. Stupendous in scope and breadth.

NOT!!

I am so proud I cancelled by subscription to that rag.

You think the author was trying for a pun there? Keep your day job? Ugh.

Trump came off as arrogant, greedy, and addicted to cold, hard cash. Sure, having money is nice, no one is denying that, but Trump couldn’t have possibly done more to represent everything that other countries see the United States as being: a complete corporate consumer bastard.

And he gives what, $200k-$300k a year to charity. Good role model.

One comment I'd like to make is that he looks so plastic with his girlfriend. They just don't look real. Everytime I see them together I can't help but think sex and money.
Reston
Was Carolyn that testy with you outside the boardroom?
Pamela: No. Carolyn is very pleasant. She's a lovely person, a smart lady. People give her a hard time for giving women a hard time, but the women deserved it!
Yeah! I knew Carolyn wasn't being "mean" or a "bitch" but rightly giving the shrill goats what they earned, including Pam. And just because the GD Mr. Clean, a brand name single bar cost $2 bucks, it still does not qualify making the no name bulk package so expensive. Gah.
bwaybelle
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I just saw a commercial saying that George and the most recently fired apprentice (I assume Pamela?) will be on the McEnroe show on CNBC tonight at 10PM ET. I've never even heard of this show before, but figured I'd pass on the info since I haven't seen it posted anywhere.
goobaletta
You have the right place, bwaybelle. Thanks for sharing!
Mama Tiger
Amy Henry is on the McEnroe show, too. Looks like George is there with the two strongest women.
BlueSkies

I guess that's what McEnroe got for being one of the rewards. Might be the one time people actually watch his show.
Mama Tiger
Actually, it was quite enjoyable (as long as you ignored McEnroe and the idiot questions from the audience). Pamela looked radiant and lovely, and sexy as hell in a miniskirt and 4" CFM heels. George was blunt and snarky and completely delightful. And we learned that he still plays tennis once a week, which doesn't surprise me, and that he has a low opinion of lawyers, and can tell lawyer jokes quite well. And even Amy sounded halfway intelligent, to my surprise. So much for the first and last time I ever watch McEnroe's show.

John McEnroe can't interview worth a damn, can he, Mama Tiger? I mean he was truly pathetic. He really needs to stick to tennis commentating, because watching him as a host of a talk show was painful.

Pamela and George were great. I switched channels to watch something else before Amy came on, because I had enough of the show.

That skit with "Little Donald" was creepy. It looked like that puppet, doll, or whatever the hell it was, was having sex with the microphone while he was interviewing those women. Ewww. I hope I don't see that freaky little thing in my dreams tonight.
Mama Tiger
I deliberately muted the TV and turned away during the "Little Donald" skit. Big Donald is bad enough.

Wow, I managed to completely put her out of my mind. ::pats self on back: Good work, Mama!::

I had NO idea that John McEnroe had his own talk show! Go figure. The first I heard about it was here on TWoP. Anyways, I missed it but my roommate said he caught parts of it channel surfing. He said Pamela looked very hawt and was quite charming, and that George was funny and very snarky. He mentioned what a pain doing the show was because it takes time away from his real work, which is closing major deals. And he doesn't even get paid for his appearances! Apparently he has no sympathy for Jen C getting her ass canned in real life either. He was appalled by her comments and thought she had it coming. Amy said Trump made a mistake firing Pamela. It should have been Stacy. And it should have been Stacy the week before too. (Hee! Amy hates Smeagol too) Oh, and she has a new book out... *yawn*

Oooh! I really wish my roommate had taped this thing. It sound so horrific, I wanna see....
ClarionGrad
WOW!!! George is uber cool! Seventy-six or not, I'd date him in a minute. Move over DT--there's a silver fox in the Board Room and he has a lot better hair than you do! George, you need to write a book. Email me, I'm willing to help.

RFLMAO. Amy thinks Stacy is "young and mouthy" and Pamela was a threat to Carolyn. Amy dear, don't leave home without your makeup artist. It just ain't pretty.
goobaletta
Hands off my Georgie, Clarion Grad! I've had dibs since last season and I will hurt you if I have to. No one gets between me and George! I lurves him, I do. *tries to look tough* And he's in talks or has recently signed to do a book already IIRC, so you can just leave him be. *looks tough again*

Amy is an idiot. She is probably still convinced that she is a threat to Carolyn too. She bad-mouthed Carolyn and implied Carolyn was threatened by her after her (Amy's) firing last season every chance she got. Heh. Pretty funny considering she couldn't even beat out Ereka for that Tony Danza gig. Amy's some threat, huh?

TWICE AS NICE. NY Post. Heh. Nice of them to catch up on what we've been typing about for weeks. What's really funny is that the TV critic from the NY Daily News wrote about the E!B!F! a couple of weeks or so ago. D'oh! And another funny thing - they choose to publish this piece in a week with no E!B!F! airing. Eejits.

Carolyn is going to be on the Kidd Kraddick morning show at 8:50 am CST today. If any of y'all are interested or read this message in time, you can pick it up through the internet at http://www.kiddlive.com.

Not much of any substance was said, but here are a couple of items.

The question about whether or not Carolyn and George are being paid was asked and Carolyn said that she had never discussed her salary and wasn't going to.

Robin is a real employee, in case anybody was wondering.

The only real question that was asked related to Carolyn and her view on women. I've read a few posts here on TWoP have commented that Carolyn is hard on the women and this is what was asked. Then the line went dead. When they got Carolyn back on a few minutes later the interview seemed to take a turn for pointless.

Amy said Trump made a mistake firing Pamela. It should have been Stacy. And it should have been Stacy the week before too. (Hee! Amy hates Smeagol too)

McEnroe also hates Stacy. After he asked Pamela if she thought she was bitchy with the other women, he made some comment like "that Stacy, now there's a bitch."
iMissEthan
Amy was very shiny during the remote from Austin, TX on McEnroe's show. She was wearing some makeup, but desperately needed some powder. On the other side of the coin, Pamela looked gorgeous. I think she may have had surgery since filming The Apprentice to get rid of the bags underneath her eyes. Either that or she found the trick to covering them completely with makeup. As someone who has chronic under eye bags myself, I was astounded at the difference in her appearance. If I ever get the chance to ask her a question, this is the subject I'll be addressing.

I just tuned in to McEnroe to see Pamela's interview, but the next thing you know they bring George out, then Amy. I watched that show for about 40 minutes.

From MSN:

McClain became a breakout star on the first season of "The Apprentice," the NBC show in which slick MBAs vie for a chance to work for Trump.

This? Made me laugh. I take it they're not watching the same program I am.
Mowgli
ClarionGrad and goobaletta, I'd fight you for him, but I'm thinking some other (relatively) young woman may have beat us to it. :(

George is considerably more dapper this year than last and I'm getting a much more social vibe from him. I don't know if he's married or not, but if not, it wouldn't surprise me if he was dating up a storm like Trump now that he, too, is a tv star. :)
goobaletta
Alas, he is married. And happily too from what I remember reading. I will lurve him always though. *weeps softly*

Okay, slooooow on the news front today.

I caught Pam and George on McEnroe last night.

Pam was working it big time with push-up bra, super-mini, super-tight skirt and sexy heels. (Her legs looked about 6 feet long). She kept a big smile on her face the whole time and acted just peachy. I felt she had gotten some coaching on how to dress and behave for her post-show "game" - however long it lasts. I felt like the real Pam had been replaced by Super-TV-Barbie Pam.

George was great. He's a little devilish too. But what a shining example of a super-sharp, well-spoken, no-BS professional. When asked by McEnroe if he felt Pam should have been fired, he replied that Trump makes the decisions, and when pressed, he said that they (Trump, George and Carolyn), see all the candidates through multiple tasks and know which ones look like candidates that will make it to the end, and Pam didn't appear to be one that would make it to the end. Period. The end.

I heart George!

McEnroe also hates Stacy. After he asked Pamela if she thought she was bitchy with the other women, he made some comment like "that Stacy, now there's a bitch."

Now I love him.
Mama Tiger
See, I didn't get that impression of Pam at all. I thought she looked relaxed, dressed in an attractive but not overtly sexy way -- I didn't notice a push-up bra if there was one -- but what struck me most was how animated she was, cheerful and laughing and just enjoying herself. It didn't come across as Barbie-like to me at all.
iMissEthan
I thought she was working it a bit - that skirt was too short not to be considered overtly sexy, and those were some hot mama shoes. But I agree that there was no push-up bra. I still can't get over where the bags under her eyes went.
Lost in Idaho
McEnroe's show is awful, but I'm glad I caught it as Amy gave another voice to something I've wrestled with since Pamela's firing. I agree with her observation that Carolyn may have felt threatened by Pamela.

To preface my observations, let me say I've worked closely with a handful of business people who achieved notable success without a graduate degree (or even an undergraduate degree, in one case). All considered the lack of education a weakness, in spite of their success.

Consider Carolyn's obvious, yet largely unexplained, disdain for Pamela since the first episode. Based on Carolyn's Dateline interview, Carolyn was a 25-year-old employee of Beck when she convinced Trump to hire her. No higher education beyond a bachelor's degree was mentioned. In Carolyn's ten years with Trump she's achieved tremendous success, but lacks the academic credentials some of the TA candidates bring to the table.

Pamela has both undergraduate and M.B.A degrees from prestigious schools. She also has more than ten years of business success, albeit not with the Trump organization. Like Carolyn, she's accomplished, well-trained and strong.

I think Carolyn saw Pamela as a competitor. [ducking and covering]

I think Carolyns hate for Pamela solely stems from the incident with the kids when she was a PM.

I think Carolyns hate for Pamela solely stems from the incident with the kids when she was a PM.

No one seemed to like Pamela. Not the men's team, not the women's team. Not Carolyn. I can see maybe a handful of some of those people being intimidated by her. But all of them? Nah. I think Pamela came of as arrogant and smug and that's why people didn't like her.
actonj
I think Carolyns hate for Pamela solely stems from the incident with the kids when she was a PM.

It's a bit idiotic to hate someone for that comment. So Carolyn has children and she so terribly identified with the mother of the child (who never heard the comment except Mark Burnett decided to air it) who would have been so terribly wounded by that terrible comment (because making fun of someone's hair is so cruel!), and the poor child (who never heard the comment) would have been devastated - give me a break!!
SmedIndy
I respectfully disagree, actonj, in that it shows arrogance for your target market, in that case, children.
