But, but.. growsonwalls, what about the moment of high comedy when Pamela started to giggle and make fun of the kid with the awesomely bad haircut AGAIN.. until Elizabeth snapped at her about making fun of children? Hee. Um.. yeah, I didn't find that funny at all! Ahem.

I mean, she even went to make a hand motion, describing the awful haircut before they cut her off. That was priceless! I really hope the parents of the child with the bad haircut saw that. You know they'll be sending hate mail to Star and Joy Behar for being nice to the evil Pamela.
growsonwalls
Secret, I saw that. I think Pamela's just a fun, earthy kind of gal with a sometimes inappropriate sense of humor. I mean it's not as if Pamela said "what an idiot" about the kid. He did have a bad haircut. Ebitch's shriek of "That was a CHILD!!!" was hilarious. I hate Ebitch.
I'm also happy that Pamela didnt take Joy's bate about how "little" the women looked. Yes, Pam's got a good head on her shoulders. And she has a nice haircut. Professional, but also sexy.
megasaur
Not sure if this plays on other Clear Channel Stations...Donald Trump does a segment called "The Real Deal" on Friday mornings and talks about why the person fired was fired. Nothing new was said regarding Pamela, but he did say that he would have fired Stacy R. if Pamela wasn't fired. Which made me smile a little bit.
goobaletta

Ooooh, now that makes me chortle with anticipatory glee! Thanks for sharing, megasaur.

Ebitch's shriek of "That was a CHILD!!!" was hilarious. I hate Ebitch.

I hate Ebitch too. I hate her with the fire of a thousand suns. Come to think of it... I may actually hate her more than Smeagol. I don't know how she ever got that gig. She's exceedingly stupid (her pathetic attempts at "political commentary" are just about the Funniest!Thing!Ever!), and her voice grates likes no other. All she ever does is yip and yap about her absent football player husband and her impending pregnancy. She's been burdening every guest on that show with her pregnancy and kid talk so much that even Star Jones's wedding is starting to sound interesting....

I loved Pamezon on The View, and it's just re-affirmed my belief that she was just too good for The Hair.

I heard that this morning as well, and it just pisses me off further, knowing she was so close... and yet, she's still on my tv.

Trump) did say that he would have fired Stacy R. if Pamela wasn't fired. Which made me smile a little bit.

He makes it sound like her being fired was something that just happened and was out of his control. The only way Stacy was going to be fired is if the women ended up in the boardroom, and if they went, Pamela went.

Which leads me to believe that he wasn't set on firing her when she walked in but something (the whole "tie" thing, IMO) pushed him over the edge when she was in there.
mswestern
I thought the most telling moment of Pamela's View appearance was the appreciation she expressed for Carolyn. She said Carolyn was great to work with (paraphrase) ...

I don't think it's a coincidence that the woman with the most real-world business experience is the one praising Carolyn. The Apprenti who say she's too rough on the women are generally those who don't have a clue what they're doing.

PAMELA Day, 32, a marketing executive from Virginia Beach, was the latest candidate to get axed by The Donald in the kookiest episode of "The Apprentice" yet.

The NY Post made a mistake in this article. Maria (much as I, a Virginia Beach native, hate to admit it) is the marketing exec from VB. NBC.com says Pamela's from San Francisco. Wish it was the marketing exec from Virginia Beach who'd been fired, though...
DolphinFan
That's not a huge surprise that it came down to either Pamela or Stacy R. getting fired, since they were the two biggest targets as losing team PM and individual who didn't seem to do a hell of a lot of value on the task. Maria wasn't great on TV, but she tried to do well and wasn't responsible for the loss unless Apex somehow showed that her rapid-eye movement cost them crucial sales with QVC prospective purchasers.

But, yeah, Pamela was awful in the Boardroom and Stacy R. was terrific. Donald Trump likes people who stand up for themselves and Stacy R. does that. He also likes humility and Pamela wasn't going to try that (she didn't have to humble about her autocratic style because it was effective, but claiming she viewed it as a tie? Yeah, that was not a good presentation choice) and then he's looking for competence. Pamela wins that one over Stacy R. So Stacy R. won out 2-1, but that 1 missing is a big deal.

I think one thing that Season 1 showed is Donald Trump's decisions on who to fire are based on who he does or doesn't want around anymore. He mentioned that he wanted to fire Sam in Week 3 but talked to Mark Burnett about it because Sam made for great TV, and MB said to fire whomever he felt should go. He's nearing the end of his patience with all the Apex women; you don't break precedent and install a PM on a team if you have any faith in their judgment--and Jennifer M. fans, that includes her, otherwise he'd have had HER lead.

When I'm back watching on October 28, we'll see what the teams are about, but if Stacy R.'s still there it'll be somewhat surprising.

Did anyone else notice that on the Today show this morning they never mentioned Pamela's last name? Also, when they put up her name "caption" underneath her it just said "Pamela". Not Pamela Day or Pamela D. Just Pamela. Which I found interesting.

I read somewhere else, I think, that she's in the middle of a divorce settlement, or something, and that has something to do with not revealing her last name. Although I don't understand why. Maybe someone can explain it to me.
KC_Eliot
RhondaGC, they have made a big deal this season about how the Apprentice contestants are on a first-name only basis this time on the Today show. Matt Lauer made a comment about it when the first bootee was on.

I don't know if it extends to other NBC media appearances, but obviously not to the media as a whole since the contestants' last names are widely published.

Huh, I thought I did hear Pamela's last name when she was first introduced. I may have misheard and just thought that's what was said.
NYCynthia
Hey, I didn't see this mentioned anywhere yet, and I guess it's media (I couldn't figure out where else to put it?) but Sam will be on hand on QVC on October 11 when the guys go back! Hee!

From Yahoo's coverage:
And tune in to the QVC channel Monday, October 11, 10pm ET to see Mosaic sell the products - with a special apperance by Season One's Sam Solovey!

The NBC-imposed surname blackout is pretty amusing when you consider that on the last task, you could clearly hear Pamela introduce herself as "Pamela Day" while shaking hands with Rudy Giuliani and Judith Nathan. Durr, editors.

Sam's episode commentary on Yahoo, posted a few pages back, is also pretty amusing (especially when compared to the ramblings of Omarosa on NBC's site).

Something Pamela said about the spongey thing that hasn't been mentioned and that I didn't get from the show last night. They were selling a box of 30 sponges, not just a single sponge. The price makes a lot more sense to me now in light of that

They mentioned that a lot on last night's show. They were saying that Pam wanted to sell them for a buck a sponge which translates to 30 dollars. Carolyn was saying that that was way too much and the 19.99 pricing idea was a better choice b/c it is a deal. It is less than buck a sponge and so a good deal for buying a case of 30 sponges.
Maybe you missed it.

NYCynthia : now now, your Hurley is showing!!!

That wench on the View will come to her senses about kids when her own little precious bundle arrives and alters her celeb lifestyle. I totally wet myself when she started making fun of BowlHead again. Who thinks that Caroline (take that you bobble-headed YesWoman) is a leeeetle sensitive about BadKidCuts? Think she is guilty of FlowBee use in the home?

Thanks for clarifying. Guess I didn't hear them announce that. If there is a self-imposed "first-name only" policy, what is the purpose? Anyone know? That seems a little strange to me.

Odd. I posted the press release earlier. It says that Pamela will be making an appearance as well. I think I read somewhere that TD will too even though it's not in the press release. Also they'll be selling the Season 1 DVDs, the It Works! thingy, as well as the panini grill w/cookbook.

It wouldn't happen to repeat, would it? Because I gotta watch Battle of the Sexes 2 Monday night. Fun shit. I just figure Mosaic + Sam = Gold.

THANKS for the brilliant links. I am a computer "dummy" so I really appreciate your savvy!

Pamela was great on TV this am...I was a tad surprised that Katie interviewed her as she "let" Matt interview "O".

I think the viewing public will eventually tell DT: "Your Fired!"

Back to giving my Thursday nights to CSI...unless something MAJOR happens...are you listening Mr. Burnette??????????

My pleasure, 1Oaktown Girl. It's lovely to be appreciated.

Lantern7, I don't know if QVC does repeats. You might try looking at the schedule on their website.

Okay folks, the reviews/recaps/commentaries are hitting the web much more quickly than last week. If you missed the first batch I posted for this episode, go to page 254 of this thread.

Carolyn was on the Conan O'Brien show on Friday night. In the interests of fair reporting (heh), I should admit that I neither like nor admire her this season, but I really did think that she came off like a complete idiot. She was supposedly pushing her stupid book, but all she managed to do was giggle and look appalled at every one of Conan's (unfunny) little jokes and jabs.

"So, do you call him The Donald or Don or Mr. Hair?"

Simpering smile. "Oh, none of those. Just Donald."

Blech.

This morning when I doublechecked my TV listings, I discovered that, like last week, NBC farted around with its schedule and tonight's EBF version of TA will be again shown an hour later, at 9 Eastern/8 Central. So check your local listings, too, to be sure!
RhondaGC
Yeah, I just checked my listings, too and it's playing at 8:00 here (Central Time). But what was really interesting was the description of the show for which they bumped TA:

Live TV: Clips from news broadcasts, talk shows, games shows, cooking shows and infomercials.  Newsmakers and celebrities err on live TV.

Well, thank God NBC found a slot in their schedule for that! Because the world can't have enough blooper shows. Whatever.

From the NY Post article linked above:

"The men are getting along great and they're killing the women," said Trump.

"They're a cohesive team."

This is so true. The only time the women function as a cohesive team is when they're trying to take someone out. That's the only time they all "utilize" their "skill sets" to "maximum potential".
ClarionGrad
Thanks for all the links, goobaletta! Having once done something similar for another site, I know what a huge time sink the research is and I appreciate your efforts.

Carolyn asks what she thought the price should be. Pamela goes back to her original 30 dollar stance. Carolyn thinks that's a hell of a lot of money. Oh come on, you're a freakin' associate partner of Trump, you gotta be making at the very least six figures a year. You could buy a cleaning sponge the size of a Buick. -- Inside Pulse article

From the StacieJ article above:

"Most black women have to be the head of the family and take care of ourselves while our husbands are in jail. It's a cultural thing."

While I think her assessment of the women, catty as it may be, is pretty accurate, that quote is fairly offensive. Maybe that was her experience growing up or whatever, but in the context of explaining why she needs a PR person to salvage her reputation, it's just a dumb thing to say. I don't get the impression she's actually hurting for money, and she's just spreading a cultural assumption that's already far too prevelent. She can talk about Li'lStacy being a loudmouth, but really, she needs to look a little closer to home first.
oldbabe
From NY Post interview with StacieJ:

Black people are not born with silver spoons in their mouth. Most blacks are one or two generations from getting college degrees. ... Most black women have to be the head of the family and take care of ourselves while our husbands are in jail. It's a cultural thing."

Amazing that she managed to get some of the worst stereotypes about black people into one paragraph! She's certainly not helping anyone, especially herself, with these remarks. Her PR person must be wringing his/her hands in despair.

ETA: Since it's the NY Daily News (corrected this from erroneous NY Post reference), I wouldn't be surprised if she was misquoted or the comments were taken out of context.
blocked writer
I'm disappointed in Stacie J's offensive remarks. I'd like to think she was misquoted, but I'm afraid she might have been talking without thinking.

She's gained a lot of sympathy for the way she was treated on the show. And I admire her nerve for calling Trump on his b.s.

However, if she keeps making statements like this, she could easily lose the goodwill she has gained.

For now, I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was misquoted, or maybe her statements were taken out of context. It wouldn't be the first time that happened. But if she was accurately quoted, then she needs to really watch her mouth in the future.
BlueSkies

Stacie J might not have been born with a silver spoon in her mouth, but it certainly wasn't plastic either, with a stepfather who was a well-known professional football player in his day.
actonj
I thought the interview was in Daily News, not NY Post. It's a little ridiculous of her to claim Trump was 'bamboozeled' by the women. He wouldn't get very far if he was fooled that easily. He knew what they were doing and he went along with it.
1Oaktown Girl
I hope like heck that Stacie J was mis-quoted. I am cringing in my computer chair.

Thanks for the link.
Wonka0217
I don't think that she believes that the vast majority of black women have that experience of the world, but she is right in acknowledging that the experience is much, much more common than people think. I was raised by a single African-American mother while my father was (and still is) serving a life sentence in prison, and what I've found to be dangerous is the assumption that everyone comes from a nuclear middle-class family. That assumption plays into legislation and campaign politics so often that I'm grateful that Stacie has publicly acknowledged that certain demographic groups tend to have a different experience than the one many like to imagine. Single black mothers raising children while their husbands are in prison certainly isn't anything pleasant, but it's not a stereotype -- which is a belief so pervasive that it comes to be accepted as truth. You'd all be surprised to find out how many people (black, white, male, female, etc) gasp when they learn that I have a father in prison.

It would have been great if the person interviewing her asked about her attitude toward Jenn M, Pamela and the men, or reported it if she did. We get so little insight into how these people feel about the contestants with whom they share a living space even if they don't have to work with them..

Fired up

Homecoming came and went, with a number of alumni returning to their old stomping grounds - most prominently at the bars and in the Carrier Dome for the Syracuse-Florida State game.
One alumna, Jennifer Crisafulli, SU class of '92, stayed home.

Crisafulli, known as Jennifer C. for her role on the cast of "The Apprentice 2," had just been sent home from the reality-based show two weeks earlier after making alleged anti-Semitic remarks about two women who criticized the way she managed the task at hand. After the two women complained about her efforts, Crisafulli referred to them as "old Jewish bat ladies."

Crisafulli said she meant no harm with the remark - after all, she said, half her family is Jewish. Still, Crisafulli's comments on the show also got her axed from her previous employer, New York real estate firm Douglas Elliman.

Crisafulli seemed appalled at her downfall since the remark, claiming she is hardly an anti-Semite.

"How can you go to Syracuse with any sort of anti-Semitic bone in your body?" Crisafulli said, referring to the school's reputation for having a high number of Jewish students. "The term 'jap' (short for Jewish-American princess), at Syracuse, is celebrated."

Instead of placing the blame on herself, Crisafulli blames the previous generation's misconceptions of today's world as the reason for her recent misfortune.

"Our generation is very open and much more accepting," Crisafulli said. "Things aren't bad when you talk about black, white, purple, blue or green."

Oh for the love of pete, Jen C. just can't shut up!

Going back to the Stacie J. article for a minute, I personally don't put a lot of stock in the Daily News, so I read it with a grain of salt...but I love how they say she "claims" Playboy wants her to pose. Why is that hard to believe? She's got an amazing body and the camera obviously loves her.

goobaletta, thanks so much for all your hard work, tracking down these links! You're awesome.
