Trump fired up for visit to University of Buffalo - Billionaire will donate $200,000 speaking fee. The Buffalo News

Stacie J. Lands on Her Feet. Mediapost Nothing much new here, but the item is of note because they couldn't manage to spell the woman's name right consistently throughout. Eejits. Sixth item down.

Forbes asks Jonathan Tisch about TA:
Forbes.com: What do you make of the huge success of Donald Trump's The Apprentice, which encourages cutthroat competition among executives? Does that send the wrong message to would-be executives?

Tisch: What is interesting about the young people on The Apprentice, is that they start out all playing nicely in the sandbox. But then, the only way they can succeed is to stab each other, pretty much in the front, not the back. This is a bad message, but so are the thoughts that come out of a lot of TV.

Trump referred to Carolyn as "Caroline." She didn't react. Then he confirmed that she was pretty mad when Baldford said "Caroline." "But she's not a yes-person at all," continued Trump. Unintentional humor galore.

Great, now I've got this image of Carolyn shaking her head vigorously right after saying, "No, no, definitely not," adding to the whole rannygazoo(oops...save words like that for Raj discussion.)

Many thanks once again, goobaletta for the links! The pictures for the upcoming epi tonight were great! I was kinda scanning back thru the other pictures and noticed a couple of things:

1. Wow! Did Stacey not look like a little kid on "Take your little sis to work day" in that pic with the ladies sitting around a table?

2. (Maybe this is her way to say "I'm an Adult!") I just noticed in one of the still pics that Stacey was wearing a VERY low cut top during the Crest "Buzz" Campaign....how "professional" but maybe the wrong profession, Stacey!

3. In the "handing out toothpaste from the truck" pic, Stacie certainly shows off her toned arms! Way to go, Stacie!

4. I just realized from the still pics that Jennifer M reminds me of the fun & goofy Lauren (Leslie Grossman) on "What I Like About You".

5. Did anyone else get a "chill" from the bitchface on Pamela in that pic of her alone!?! Brrrrr!
Miss Alli
You know, it is important to read the thread, but it's also important not to get territorial about being the first to post things, okay? There's no official Media Link Source, and there's definitely no need to get snippy with people if they repeat something you already posted.
goobaletta
Sorry Miss Alli. Offending comment removed at once.

Trump referred to Carolyn as "Caroline."

Tackhead, you beat me to it; I DVRed this and just watched it this afternoon. My howls of glee were probably heard all the way across the city at the Trump Towers. That? Was awesome.
goobaletta
Wow. This was quick!

Trump talks tough at NYU. Washington Square News PHOTO

America did not see her explain that her family is part-Jewish, that her remarks were not a slur from an insensitive New Yorker.

''I feel terrible about this,'' she told the Times Union after the show aired. ''I hope people don't think about me in the wrong way.

''It's bad. It's bad. It's all about the editing.''

And so, how do you think Stacie feels?

Excuses, excuses, excuses. The word for today kids: Delusional

This chick just doesn't get it. Carolyn, scoot over, I'm exhausted by this lot too.
NYCynthia
''I hope people don't think about me in the wrong way."

Yeah, don't worry, Jen. I think we think about you in exactly the right way.

From Bradford's article:
''It's pretty obnoxious, isn't it?'' he said in a rare moment of self-effacement. ``Subtleness is not my strong point.''

Heh...neither is "grammarty", Brad.
Go Miss Alli!

Yikes! That would be enough to send me screaming from the room.

Because Jennifer C., a 31-year-old real estate agent from New York, was jumping all right. Into a pool of sharks. And she can't swim. And they're really catty sharks. Like catfish. Only sharkier. Catsharkfish.

Dammit, that's what I get for drinking Diet Coke at 5AM. Mental note: buy new keyboard and new mouse.
Miss Alli
Furthermore, it's not EDITING's fault just because you didn't MEAN it that way. God. I hate that.

Frankly, I believe her that she didn't mean that to sound like it did, and I feel for her that she's being labeled anti-Semitic, which I don't believe she is. However, that's the fault of her own clunky use of language, and it has dick to do with editing. Idiot.
NYCynthia
Whaaa, Miss Alli, you mean the editors didn't dub in "old Jews" like fifty times? Heh.
I can't wait to see what she has to say on the Today show this morning. I hope Katie interviews her and gets all smackdown.

MAJOR POSSIBLE SPOILER! Do not click if you don't want to know. Rush & Molloy, NY Daily News. Third item down.

They've apparently forgotten how the last task worked last season.
Miss Alli
By the way, that Miami Herald article is very much worth reading, not because I'm in it, but just because it is. I really enjoyed talking to Nikki Waller (and she has presumably forgiven me for getting her name wrong when I called, for which I haaate myself), and it's a good, snarky-but-not-smug article. And also? My quote involves "big-shot" as an adjective and "big shot" as a noun, and they are hyphenated and not hyphenated appropriately. Which is the kind of thing about which I care deeply.

Regarding Doonsbury, didn't Uncle Duke serve on Donald Trump's Yacht at one point?

What I wouldn't give to see Uncle Duke as one of the Viceroys!

She and her image-builder, Ronn Torrosian, refused to comment.

I'm really missing out. I didn't know that image-builder was a legitimate profession these days. DT should hand them out as consolation prizes.

Not an article, per say, but Amy from Apprentice 1 was on the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning show this morning. Just a few excerpts from memory.

Amy's theory on why she was fired was that she won too often. She didn't have a chance to interact with Trump.

She agreed with the opinion of many TWoPers (maybe all of them) that the women on season 2 were acting very catty.

She also said that Carolyn is intimidated by Pamela.

She's currently on a book signing tour to promote her new book about women in the workplace.

Also the Showbiz Top 5 on the Kidd Kraddick show, which you can read on their homepage at http://www.kiddlive.com/, but wasn't updated at the time of this posting, had an entry about the Apprentice. Apparently, according to rumors, Trump may have regretted the decision about firing Stacie J., and Stacie J. might be unfired later in the season. Rumors, all, and one of them did mention that if this is true Stacie is a hell of an actress in her recent interviews.

Edited to clear up confusion. Unfortunately no word on a time machine, iMissEthan.
caltrask55
She also said that Carolyn is intimidated by Pamela.

ha ha ha ha!!! Now *that's* funny!

Geez, Amy just doesn't get any less delusional about Carolyn, does she?

He does. It's gold-plated and it's yooger on the inside than it is on the outside (just like Dr. Who's) :-P

Check it out. Stacie J. says that TD's speech to her about "loose cannons" never happened and was edited in later. I've heard the same about last season's speeches. Also, that she's starting to get flack and may lose modeling contracts. I smell litigation.

Stacy R. is no titan of industry either. She told Jennifer C. that in order to gain her respect, she would have to earn it. Stacy R. couldn’t have sounded more ridiculous if she were dressed like SpongeBob SquarePants.

Heh. From the MSNBC link.
slackerchick
That Entertainment Weekly article is pretty hilarious. She calls the women's team "Faster Pussycat" and makes some good points about the sheer incompetence of the Apex team. I especially liked this
It was hard to say what came off worse: Sandy's desperate Trump Ice-kissing? Ivana's attempts to act like she knows anything at all about organizing a group of people? Stacy yelping, ''She's a finger-pointer!'' while simultaneously pointing a finger?
Mama Tiger
That MSNBC article was fun, too. To wit:

Meanwhile, Donald Trump could have lined up the ladies of Apex inside a mud-wrestling pit and yelled, “Biggest clump of ripped-out hair wins!” and it would have been more civil than what transpired on the distaff side in Episode 4.

Clearly, snarking about Apex is becoming a favorite national pastime.

Desperate to put out the flames of discord, Chris sends John out to deliver food and flirt.

Flames of discord? Hmmmm...interesting word choice by that Zap2It writer.

Oh Yeah...is Danza only interviewing the NYC native candidates? JenC was on his show today. Christ...the thought of JenC and Ereka clacking away gives me hives.

Any word on how Danza's show is doing? I know he's getting strong ratings, but he's getting horrible guests. He's been seen out harrassing NYC celebrities and begging them to do his show. He's just seems to be running out of guests. And Ereka just sits in her little audience seat and makes her attempt at banter with Tony Danza but says absolutely nothing of interest. She's just too green for that spot. All of her announcements are very "big."

"NEXT..ON..TONY...DANZA!!!!!" Too cheerleader-y.

Another brilliant quote from the Entertainment Weekly recap:

What continues to be the worse for wear, however, is my psyche. Even though this show redeemed itself a little tonight (I mean, what can beat the conga music playing in the background when the boys pimped out John?), I am still left with the sickening feeling that someday, somewhere, I am going to have to spend time in a building or resort or country club managed by one of these people. I mean, really, can you imagine? At the moment, frankly, with a few exceptions, I wouldn't let them run my bathroom faucet. We'll see what next week's Shocking. Twist. has in store. A little part of me hopes Pamela kills someone.

An ex-cop and his deceased father captured the Ig Nobel in engineering for their 1977 patent on a process to camouflage baldness.

"Like most of our good ideas, this one came over a gallon of homemade wine," says Donald J. Smith, 66.

The plan was to sell an instruction manual for the three-step comb-over method and a secret spray formula that held the hair in place. But the scheme never got off the ground.

Today, the patent is worthless, Smith says. Unless, of course, he sues Donald Trump for stealing it. "His hairstyle does look like my patent," Smith notes.

You know, I didn't like Jenn, but I think her employer is chickenshit. I don't think she's anti-Semitic, I just think she's a giant clod. I couldn't stand her, but I think they suck. If they've had no other reasons besides the fleeting stuff that was shown on TV to believe that she holds those kinds of beliefs, then I think that blows that they fired her.

And, as stated, I couldn't stand her.

And in order to avoid having two full-on discussions of this at the same time, please take this to Jennifer C.'s thread. Thanks.

Ah yes, I saw this bit on our local NBC station yesterday. They ran promos for it incessently during the show: "Detroit's own Apprentice! Her friends defend her against nasty rumors!" Which basically turned out to be her mom saying how proud she is of her daughter, a high school teacher saying she's smart and motivated, blah blah blah, and high school friends saying that she's a sweetheart. Shocking!

She did, however, write and direct a short erotic film for, apparently, a "class project." Gotta wonder what kind of class that was. And if it can be factually proven? I don't think it can be classified so much as a "rumor", you know?
