From The Donald's point of view, one can never have enough Trump. Just look at the Edifice Complex he has.

Watch out, because the next media piece you see will be an announcement that Trump has found a way to charge the viewers of The Apprentice for the privelege of watching the show.

Just saw the preview of The Apprentice 2 on NBC.com. I have to say that it features a typical "2nd Season Cast" for a successfull reality show. I am sure we will get the obligatory "oh this cast is so great, no one from the first show would have made it this year" hype. But judging from the 5 or 6 people they showed, i think this cast will be about equal to the last one. They just seem like they are trying hard to appear like ruthless business sharks. There is one woman in the preview who seems like a contender, she is a short haired brunet who kind of dominates the preview. Maybe it just seems like she is a good candidate because she gets a lot of the preview time, but I got a good feeling about her, not unlike the feeling I had for Amy Henry. Or like when I used to climb the rope in gym class!

Okay, this one got me out of my hiatus:

From Michael Starr's column in the NY Post-- Ereka Vetrina as Danza's sidekick. Apparently Ereka even beat out Amy for this gig per People.com. Hee!

The dreaded O was NOT the only former TA contestant at the Democratic Convention. Kwame was too. Note how he simply did his bit and did not make a spectacle of himself.

Also, Kwame's still getting play for his sense of style. Moreso than the O. Imagine. Anyhow, THIS ARTICLE, and variations of it, has been all over the 'net for the last few days. I'd swear I posted one that talked about TD & the color pink back before I dropped out. Aren't slow news days grand?

Nick's still not gone. You can catch him on the Game Show Network on August 7th. Heh. Who'd've thunk they'd ever do a Dog Eat Dog marathon?

From The Donald's mouth to my ears: Bill will be one of the NotGeorges in Season 2.

The Donald does a short bit on the morning show on Q104.3 in NYC. Does he do that anywhere else? It's usually a little blurb about something that he's thinking about (he recently talked about Britney not wanting a prenup). Then there are about 213 commercials narrated by The Hair for various things like Office Depot and Ditech.com.

Weird.

But today he talked about the upcoming season and said that Omarosa would probably make an appearance. Ugh. But then he said that Bill will be a NotGeorge, and the universe was balanced once again. Sort of.
goobaletta
Bleah. Bill is so NOT a NotGeorge. I much prefer Bernie and Pornstache.

Forgot to mention yesterday that Carolyn is a judge for the Miss Teenage USA pageant on NBC tomorrow night. Heh. I don't guess they need to worry about her waving at contestants.
jcpdiesel21
But today he talked about the upcoming season and said that Omarosa would probably make an appearance.
WHY? Hasn't Donald made it pretty clear that he hates Omarosa? And what will she do to merit her coming back? I'm so sick of her lying face.
Meghan Jill
Pssst, Donald - there can be too much of a good thing. C'mon, dude, get serious. No one wants to watch a three hour finale.

From Michael Starr's column in the NY Post-- Ereka Vetrina as Danza's sidekick. Apparently Ereka even beat out Amy for this gig per People.com. Hee!

Now I've heard everything. Besides, didn't Tony Danza already have a show called "The Tony Danza Show" a few seasons ago that failed? Let me guess--he plays a character named "Tony."
goobaletta
I think it's a talk/variety show along the lines of the old Merv Griffin show. Scary, huh? I mean, the mere thought of Ereka doing skits and comedy bits or perhaps a dance step or two with Tony. Boggles the mind.

Heh. Went looking for more information and found THIS ARTICLE.
As Tony's sidekick, Vetrini will introduce the show each day, discussing news of the moment and hot trends with Danza at the top of the show. In addition, she will also act as a show correspondent, covering red carpet events including premieres and awards shows for "The Tony Danza Show."

As Tony's sidekick, Vetrini will introduce the show each day, discussing news of the moment and hot trends with Danza at the top of the show.

So, in other words it will be a low rent version of Regis and Kelly.

WHY? Hasn't Donald made it pretty clear that he hates Omarosa? And what will she do to merit her coming back? I'm so sick of her lying face.

Well, he said in his little blurb thingee that Omarosa was "lying, conniving, backstabbing" and some other things, but then he said something like "I also adore her for a lot of reasons..." and that's when he said that about Bill.

[shrug] I hate her, hate watching her, and would LOOOOOOVE to figure out a way to hit her in the face with a pie, but my indecent love for The Apprentice and All Things Hair overrides that.

Besides, if I don't watch and Troy makes an appearance, I'll be sad. [hee]

Oooooo...I new the new candidates would be announced soon. I just saw the preview. And, is it me, or does it look like they followed the same formula in casting this one? The bow tie guy? Hello, Sam. The feisty brunette (although I have to say I like her) has got to be the new Omarosa. Got to be. She looks full of drama.

Re: Ereka on the Tony Danz show. I just saw the first preview for that show today. I haven't heard even the slightes bit of buzz about his show in the last 6 months. Nothing. Remember when Sharon Osbourne and Ellen were coming out with their shows and we got about 3 months worth of promos in magazines and on TV? I haven't heard zip about the Tony Danza project which does not bode well for it. How Ereka would beat out professionals for this job blows my mind. It has to be budget-related. They could pay her less than nothing to do it and couldn't afford regular professionals. Or professionals saw how bad the show was and didn't want to be attached to it. (Hello...Sheila E from Magic Johnson's Show...lookin at you)

It's like that Tasia Valenzuela chick from Pop Stars being the entertainment reporter for Ryan Seacrest's show. She was horrid to watch.

The Donald does a short bit on the Morning show on Q104.3 in NYC. Does he do that anywhere else?
That bit is syndicated on 300+ radio stations, I heard Trump say on a recent bit that a million applications came in for Apprentice 2 and that sponsors`re coming to them to do stuff with the show, look for more innocent product placing.

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal today saying that Trump is going to declare bankruptcy. It's a complex deal, but apparently his casino business has been bleeding money for a long time.

So typical of Trump. He always winds up stiffing somebody. His lifestyle will remain unaffected.
BassetHound
Well, the casinos are the only companies that Trump has that he doesn't own outright. The bottom line is, Trump will lose money off the casinos, as his interest is being devalued by roughly half.

The TA2 site at NBC.com now has a video tour of the new suite up. It only works with a Windows Media Player which makes me think Microsoft has bought a sponsorship this season.

Would it be possible to find anyone more hateable than that woman with the short dark hair? I guess they could bring back Oma.

And may I say that is the uglies suite I have ever seen. I figure it must be part of some psychological test they are doing on the contestants.
goobaletta
The NY Post has a snippet about the books Heidi, Bill, and Amy have coming out. Also, there's a bit about Kwame that will drive O insane. Yay!
Miss Alli
Pffft. All I can say about Heidi's book is that I hope it was meticulously copy-edited.
DMW_SFU
I will not read any of their books. You are supposed to be business people, not authors.

(I would, however, read a book by Miss Alli.)

Also, there's a bit about Kwame that will drive O insane.

goobaletta, I'm either forgetting something or clueless, but why would that drive Omarosa insane?
goobaletta
Because from just about the very first interview she gave after her firing she has talked about designing a line of businesswear for women and/or drag queens. Okay, not the last part, but seriously. Not a stretch, huh? (Apologies to any DQs who read this board.) Supposedly she's been in talks with varying people, never named in any article I've ever read or interview I've seen on TV (that I can recall anyhow), to create such a fashion line. Well clearly this has NOT happened as yet and here comes Kwame, her brother so well sabotaged by her, and he IS actually having a line of businesswear coming out. As much as she craves attention, I figure she's apeshit over this development.
ccrean
Don't you realize that Omarosa designed all the suits for Kwame? She supervised the purchasing of the material and the notions. She flew to the factory in China to inspect it and to interview all the workers. She designed the marketing campaign. And that horrible Kwame will take all the credit!

By the way, during her trip to China, Omarosa got hit in the head with a chopstick. Did the injury stop her? No, it did not. Omarosa had a migraine, tendonitis and sciatica as a result of the chopstick disaster, but she soldiered through.

When Omorosa was looking at swatches of fabric, a sales person made the following remark: "You want to stay away from the black." Omarosa, rightly so, called the sales person out on her bigotry. The sales person made a lame comeback along the lines of "Black is not the color for 2005, and besides, it shows dandruff and lint." Of course, Omarosa saw through this.

ccrean, you owe me a new keyboard!
Blondie
Make that TWO keyboards!! Bwah!! I would pay the $3.95 per minute to have seen Assy's face when they told her Kwame was REALLY going to have a line of business clothing coming out. I would continue to pay to watch the replay over & over & over....
goobaletta

Anyone but me looking forward to the new season....more for Miss Alli's recaps than the actual show!?!

Me, me, me! I finally saw one of the ads during the 'Lympics and if everyone pans out like they appear on the commercial, it'll be another fun time! Of course Miss Alli's recaps are Must Read TV.

Me, too! Except that I don't know how anything could be as much fun as the first time round...

I am looking foward to the new season. I'm a new poster, however I've been lurking around for a while. I really enjoyed season one. After I started reading Miss Ali's recaps the show became so much better. I can't waite!
erik316wttn
When will the Season 2 cast be announced?
goobaletta
No clue about when the new cast will be announced. If you look in The Spoiler Thread there are a couple of names already.

NBC.com has added updates about 9 of the first cast--

Troy. Heidi. Sam.
Bill. Bowie. Jessie.
Jason. Katrina. Amy.

ETA: I went scoping around the NBC Media Village site looking for TA2 info and found photos featuring TD, George (yay!), Carolyn, etc. from TA1. There are NINE pages! CLICK HERE. I feel so silly for not having found this before.
BassetHound
How cool is it that DT is paying for Troy to get a formal education. Also, the most popular answer for who everyone stays in touch with is Heidi. But the best quote of all was from Jessie, who showed more brilliance in one quote then during the entire season:
I keep in contact with Heidi, Bowie, Sam, Katrina, Jason... I pretty much get along with everybody, except the few that think that their "Reality Show Prestige" catapulted them into ultra-celebrity. Give me a break.
djmama
Thanks, as always, goobaletta, for bringing the links! You're the best, girlfriend!

Anyone else bugged by the following (and its ilk)?

In your opinion, what three words best describe Donald Trump?

The three words that best describe Trump are:
- Full of Life
- Tough Negotiator
- Confident [Jason]

Maybe it's just me, but I thought three words actually meant three words.

[crickets chirping]

OK, just me, then!
timbuk2
Maybe it's just me, but I thought three words actually meant three words.

That bugged me too. If I remember correctly, Jason got fired because he ignored his teammates' advice to meet with the Marquis Jet executives while planning the advertising campaign, even though those executives had flown to New York from Boston to make themselves available. I personally thought that Jason's decision was one of the stupidest moves on the show [matched perhaps by Ereka suicidally sending Katrina back to hide in the suite instead of taking her to the boardroom].

So is it really surprising that Jason ignored the instruction to use three words?

Katrina wed recently, and the scene-stealer herself, Omarosa was one of the guests, much to someone`s chagrin as explained here http://www.nypost.com/gossip/27103.htm
BassetHound
How strange Katrina would invite Omarosa to her wedding after she accused Katrina's BFF Ereka of being a racist.
jellyeggs
Her dad`s apparently quite forgiving.
Tashanir
"If I had known Omarosa was coming, I wouldn't have gone," Vetrini told The Post's Don Kaplan yesterday from the set of Tony Danza's upcoming daytime talk show, where her new job is as Danza's sidekick. "I went down there to celebrate a wedding, not a press conference. I feel I was lied to by the bride."

Uh oh....looks like strange things are a foot at the Circle K. BFF's no more? And, yeah, suuuuurrrrreeee you wouldn't have gone. 'cause we all know what a private person you are. And, the Post is taking liberty with the whole "sidekick" idea. She's a bit reporter that Danza will go to for entertainment news. Word from the set? Let's put it this way. Kelly Ripa shouldn't be worried. Seemse Ereka talks too fast, hogs the camera...and is quite rude to the production staff.

It turns out Omarosa and another former "Apprentice" star, Amy Henry, were invited via e-mail at the last minute just three days before the event at the be- hest of Campins' father. "Her father said, 'I'm tired of reading about you in the papers, coming across as the bitch and being the person who's not including people in things,' " says Campins' lawyer, Alex Soto. "He said, 'Please do me a favor and invite these people to your wedding.'

Yeah...I'm sure NBC had NOTHING to do with that. I mean, Campins did happen to get married just weeks before the second season premieres. And an e-mail invite??? Geesh...how tacky.

Anyone but me looking forward to the new season....more for Miss Alli's recaps than the actual show!?!

I am soooooooo ready for the new season. I even arranged my work schedule so I wouldn't have to work on Apprentice nights. Now that's devotion.

All the same, I'll admit I'm feeling a little trepidation. I never watched the first season of Survivor, but watched the second with great interest. The third season left me yawning, though, and I tuned out after the third or fourth episode. I thought Bachelor was mildly amusing the first time, but couldn't bear to watch after a few minutes of the first episode of the second season. I realize the sophomore season is always difficult for shows, and I'm hoping for the best, but I'll reserve judgment until at least the second episode of Apprentice II. If it looks like a bad rerun of the first season, I'm out of there. The media articles haven't given me much hope, either. As someone pointed out earlier in this thread, the women of Apprentice II seemed to be pegged to first season character types. Uh-oh ...

I remember reading a few years back that after the third season of MTV's Real World, people would show up for auditions for subsequent seasons and try to persuade the producers that they were the new Puck, or the new Rachel, or the new Pedro. If Apprentice II devolves into first season redux (a weird, short-statured guy with a deadly stare, a bitchy fashionista realtor, a certifiably insane minority female who's suffering from delusions of adequacy -- not to say grandeur), then I'm tuning out. I want all new characters, not warmed-over first season types. I'm sure there'll be a designated villain, and maybe even a designated villainess, and a designated space cadet, and so on and so forth in the derivative manner of most TV. I just want a new kind of villain -- like maybe a super-competent, hard-charging type with ice water in his/her veins who just mows everyone down? -- and a new kind of nutter (maybe someone who thinks the Virgin Mary makes regular appearances in his/her granola?), and so forth.

We'll see. The one thing we can all count on is that Miss Alli's recaps will be hilarious, as usual. If the show's no good, I may skip the viewing altogether and just read the recaps.

Don't know, but there's an article in the Palm Beach Post that says that the wedding will be broadcast on NBC's Dateline on September 3. So sooner or later, we'll all get to see.
Blondie
Pocha, you've expressed my thoughts (and trepidations!) exactly...and very articulately, may I say!! Reality TV producers today seem to take the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" adage in the wrong context. We don't want to see the same ppl in new bodies each season. That's so Borrriinnnnggg!! We want to see new personalities interact in an obviously popular concept. Why can't they get this!?!
JulesP
Where are people seeing the wedding photos of Katrina & Ben?
They're also in this week's Us Magazine. With the requisite picture of Omarosa as a guest.

Eek! Despite what the article says, I hope the wedding's not really being broadcast, just that a little footage from it will be used during a segment on something-or-other. I'm a *little* curious, I admit, but I don't need a feature on Katrina's wedding.
