Omarosa is in People magazine this week (or maybe Us. One of those.). Some photographer caught up with her/ran into her/was informed by desperately self-important anonymous caller in a high squeaky voice that she'd be there at a clothing store and got O to pose among racks of clothing in a two piece bathing suit with the tags hanging off it. She struck the t-bone pose and really, mall lighting is not terribly flattering to her. Let's hope she was wearing panties! Pathetic.

Bill Rancic is featured in a short article in TV Guide Online. He talks about how busy he is, how he didn't date Jen Scheff, and his upcoming book.

Apprentice Bill's Next Move

"I'm trying to turn the exposure I had into [something] positive," he says. "I'm not out trying to milk it and go to bars and pick up girls. Honestly, I've been so busy I haven't had a lot of time to date. I'm a red-blooded, heterosexual man, and I love women just as much as the next guy. But I've got a lot to prove."

Sounds like he's declaring that he's not gay. Did someone suggest that Jen was really his fag hag?

We hear he's partly there as a featured player in The Apprentice 2, now in production, though he "can't confirm that." Translation: He's in it, possibly even sitting beside Trump in the boardroom!

Well, it was pretty obvious Bill would be making an appearance next season. I'm more curious about who besides Bill and Kwame will be featured.

This morning on the way to work, there was a VERY short radio spot (15 seconds I think) featuring Donald Trump. He said that if we wanted to find out more about the controversial Apprentice candidate Amorosa, we should go to a particular Web site. I missed the Web address and thought the whole thing was odd. There was no promo for the new season of the show. We weren't being asked to watch or buy anything? Now I'm dying to find out what the heck that address was and haven't been successful in finding anything that would fit the bill with search engines.

Any clues as to what this is about? I was sort of hoping that The Donald dug up some awesome dirt and was letting as all know.
djmama
I didn't find anything so far, Queen Jawa. Very suspicious!

BWAH! Very Donald Trump with the hilarious gaudiness.

The driver said Campins, 24, slapped him, but she said his face "fell into her hands" as she tried to avert a fight between the driver and Moss

His face just fell into her hands? Sounds awfully like a woman who "just happened" to walk into a wall and got a black eye. I can't see Katrina swinging the first punch, but I also recall the way she was pulling on Omarosa's arm when she was upset, wonder if she did it to the tow truck driver, and crossed a line during her agitas.

Here's more from the Boston Herald's Inside Track - Trump was asked for a reaction and he said "it must have been awful to see your future husband unable to help while you get the (bleep) kicked out of you.'' Ouch.

From the Boston Herald article referenced by archer1267,
Katrina Campins, who caused quite a stir in Boston in May with her diva-ish behavior
and
Kings publicist Peggy Rose, who tangled with Katrina when she squired the Florida gal and ``Apprentice'' wash-out Ereka Vetrini around town last month, said she's not shocked that Campins rubbed someone else the wrong way.

``This is not surprising to me at all,'' said Rose. ``She's explosive and vindictive.''

...I had to find out more.

So I searched the Boston Herald archive and found this gem:
"I normally get paid three times or more for a one-hour appearance than what you guys paid us for an entire day of press, media and appearances," [Katrina Campins] complained to Peggy Rose and Julie Fairweather, who handled the Florida real-estate agent and co- contestant Ereka Vetrini during the local promotion.

Poor, baby!
xander99
According to Katrina Campins (pictured, left) of "The Apprentice," she and her fiance were attacked by a group of about dozen men at Seay Towing in North Miami Beach. Campins claims in a press release that the "gang" was waiting for them when they went to pick up their car and that they inflicted serious injuries.

Wait a minute. So a gang of a dozen men jumped them and beat the shit out of them for no reason??? Just weird.

The driver said Campins, 24, slapped him, but she said his face "fell into her hands" as she tried to avert a fight between the driver and Moss, according to a police report.

That's hilarious! She didn't slap him! His face fell into her hands. BWAH!

"My nose is broken because eight to 10 men were beating us. I was hysterical," Campins said Tuesday after meeting with her attorney. "I had blood dripping down my body and I was hysterical."

Ummmm.... Ooooookay....... Whatever you say, Katrina...... I'm having cee-ment concussion flashbacks here......

Just about 6 weeks until we start getting details about the new Apprentices. NBC will start with their press frenzy in Mid August. I can't wait!!!

As far as the first Apprentices....

-I dread Amy's big toothed, gummy smile that is inevitable as she'll be whoring her book at the same time. How convenient that she's going to have it launching in September. (Can you say ghost writer?)

-Not at all looking forward to seeing Bill. I'll bet he will be one of the new viceroys.

-Hopefully Sam and Heidi will appear once or twice. How funny would they be as viceroys?

All the others? Like the reporter above stated, they're all washouts. Sam, Troy Katrina, Kwaame and Nick seem to be the only ones who really benefited from this show by getting jobs/endorsements.

I thought Amy would have been more present. She doesn't seem to have garnered many job offers or endorsements.

VH1 just aired their "I Married..." Omarosa installment. She was actually quite tolerable. Guaranteed she'll be back on Apprentice 2.

David, Jason, Jessie , Tammy and Bowie weren't memorable enough to warrant much hype post show, so it's no surpise that we haven't heard from them.

Ereka? Yep...wash out. But guaranteed Ereka will be jumping in front of cameras and attending Apprentice parties once the second season airs. Out of all of them, I think she fell flat most. She just got nothing out of it.

Some stuff on Katrina getting a black eye and a broken nose

Funny how three different stories have three (or more) different accounts of what happened. First, it's a couple of guys beating them up, then "8 or 10", then a dozen. Riiiiiight. I was willing to buy a couple of guys attacking them, but not 12. I believe the tow truck company manager completely. Although that part about how she didn't slap him, his face just fell into her hands, was really convincing.

"Beginning July 6th at 8:00 PM (ET), CNBC will offer a marathon of the smash reality series "The Apprentice" with new wraps by Apprentice cast member Amy Henry and new show teasers from Donald Trump. The marathon will culminate on July 26th in a two-hour finale. "

Why Amy? She didn't win or come in as runner-up. I've had enough Amy to last me a lifetime.

I found an interesting comment about Apprentice 2 while scanning an article in Advertising Age (July 5, 2004)--available online in its entirety at Chrysler AdAge Article (free registration may be required).

The article talks about Chrysler not wanting to sponsor Apprentice 2, and then states the following:
Chrysler declined to comment on The Apprentice, but said it will spend more in 2004 than last year across all media. NBC, owned by General Electric Co., didn't return calls. A higher asking price for a proven winner certainly isn't unusual and the network is doubling the number of episodes to 26 for next season.

This is the first I've seen that the number of episodes of Apprentice 2 is doubling. Does anyone know what that might mean? Are we going to have a lot more competitors?
Miss Alli
I can't swear to it, but I'd predict that means two seasons of 13 episodes, one in fall and one in spring.
DMW_SFU
Slate/Day to Day on NPR had a human guinea pig piece about a middle-aged woman joining a pageant that included an appearance by Omarosa (she isn't actually in it, but the guinea pig in the pageant does deal with her and she talks about that.

Edited to add:

I love Bill, but... booooooooooooooo. There were a few times when Bill didn't speak his mind or voice his opinion very well during his run on the show. He is no replacement for the awesomeness that is George.
DMW_SFU
Well, he only will be filling in when George is unavailable. He's as good as the other NotGeorges, I think. Although, obviously, none of them compare to George!
Tashanir
Bill is nothing more than a press liason/PR rep. He's a spokesperson for Trump and The Apprentice. He can't possible be "overseeing" any sort of construction project when he's constantly doing photo shoots and interviews and going to parties. Sortsa feel a little scammed after spending 13 weeks enggrossed in wondering who would get the "dream job" of being Trump's Apprentice.
AlmondEyes
"My nose is broken because eight to 10 men were beating us. I was hysterical,"

She was on Access Hollywood, or Extra (I get those shows confused) today talking about this.

Too bad they didn't break her jaw instead. Because then it would be wired shut, hopefully. And we wouldn't have to listen to her striving for relevance.
SeaBreeze341

That's what I thought too when I first heard this. I was like, "He pretty good, but not good enough to replace the guy!"

Again, funny how George won't always be there, but Carolyn can't miss an episode when it comes time for someone to get fired.

It's nice to have a former Apprentice Player on the other side. If there was ever advice (like how to sell Trump Ice and how not to get beat up by 8 to 10 guys) to be given to the teams, then it's best that it comes from someone that was previously in their place.

Congratulation to The Apprentice for getting three Emmy nominations today!!!!!

The nominations are:
  • Outstanding Cinematography For Nonfiction
    Programming
  • Outstanding Picture Editing For Nonfiction
    Programming
  • Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
It looks like it's going to be a horse race between Apprentice and The Amazing Race this season.

ETA: Miss Alli, since you recap both outstanding programs, I, and I'm sure many others, would love to hear who you'd vote for this September in this competition.
RhondaGC
Man, that Globe and Mail article is pretty funny. Some great (mild) snark on TD's hair:

It's all about the hair and The Donald's hair is a miracle of modern construction. It just may be the eighth wonder of the world.

The Donald's hair is not a piece. It's also a colour not found in nature, but closest to shimmery copper. It appears to be a comb-over but, incredibly, it doesn't arrive from any direction. You cannot stare at The Donald's hair very long. It's like staring into the sun.

His style is mindful of boxing promoter Don King, another American multimillionaire with intriguing hair. Both men are hucksters, of sorts, and both employ a running self-promotional patter that mesmerizes. With The Donald, it's the soundtrack as you stare at the hair.

Heh. The Donald and Don King. That's funny. Seriously, this writer should come join us here.

And I found this statement interesting:
The show will again find Trump putting 18 well-groomed competitors, equally split between men and women, through the business wringer.

Weren't there only 16 last time? I guess they're expanding the show.
portergirl99

Whenever I see a reference to the alleged nose breaking, all I can think of is the essay "Six to Eight Black Men" by David Sedaris. Anyone else?

Probably just me.

According to the Philly Inquirer, your fave contestant Omarosa was in the city of brotherly love for the NAACP convention and went to a suburban mall to shop for shoes. It turns out she had company with her in the form of Philly cops who accompany " dignitaries " like Nelson Mandela to keep them from getting mobbed/harassed. A spokeswoman for the city mayor said that O`s known widely enough where if people see her, they`ll want to harm her in some instance! Yeah, I could buy that.

We constantly read about women with children whose lives are threatened by their husbands, but these women don't get police protection to and from work, never mind shopping for shoes. And these vulnerable women are living 24/7 under specific and credible threats of violence/death despite restraining orders. The mayor of Philadelphia should be ashamed of siphoning off his resources for someone like O if there is one endangered woman in that city that is not under police protection.

I'll wager that, with the money Oma was prepared to spend on shoes (and cab fare?) at the "suburban mall," she could have paid for her own bodyguard. Instead, she hid behind the skirts of the NAACP and abused public funds. She's not only a liar, she's a thief who owes money to Philly, and I think the citizens of Philly should investigate the incident and establish better ground rules for defining "dignitary" and entitlement to police protection.

IMO, making a fool of oneself on reality tv doesn't make someone a dignitary entitled to police protection at public expense for a shoe-shopping expedition!

Oma has constantly thrust herself in front of others - no one put her there, or elected her, or appointed her. Nobody is after her -- she's the one that's after the public because she wants the attention. SHE entered "The Apprentice" contest, SHE wore that stupid dead puppy dress, SHE blew the meeting with Russell Simmons, SHE had an hysterical crying fit in the boardroom, SHE lied on her resumes about her jobs, SHE misrepresented her own importance, SHE falsely (probably) accused a fellow Apprentice candidate of a crime on daytime television, SHE deliberately lied and otherwise tried to block Kwame's success. SHE has done nothing but try to get the public to buy her dumb stuff, and now that Joe Public has come down against her, she's making Joe Public pay because we don't like her or the stuff she peddles!

Bill is going to be on Fox Chicago's Monday morning news. I think the commercial said in the 7 o'clock hour.
Guilty Pleasure
timbuk2, you make some incredibly sound points. May I make a humble suggestion? I think you should write a letter to the Phila. Inquirer, since you express the problem with this situation so perfectly. It's truly stomach-turning to have to witness O's (and any reality show contestant for that matter) continued manipulations and media exposure.
Blondie
*applause, applause* ITA, Guilty Pleasure, that was a very reasonably presented, articulate and compelling position that many of us here (and I'm sure many citizens of Philadelphia!) would agree with. This flaming fame-whore should not get away with this totally inappropriate use of police protection!

There is a front page article in today's Wall Street Journal about reality television shows called "Reality Checks: Unscripted Shows Become a Money Pit." (Article written by Brooks Barnes.)This is a must read!

Donald Trump is quoted as saying that he is asking for $18 million dollars for doing The Apprentice this year. He was paid $50,000 per episode last year. Why the boost in pay? Here follows the logic according to The Donald:

1. The show has high ratings, ergo TD deserves a raise.
2. TD heard that the six actors on "Friends" were paid about $1.5 mil per ep, so -
3. As the sole star* of The Apprentice TD deserves $9 million per show. But
4. "Friends" is a half hour show and
5. The Apprentice lasts one whole hour. Ergo
6. DT should get two times as much money.
7. The $18 million dollars per episode "seemed fair" to Trump.

Also interesting quotes for Burnett and talk about the logistics of reality television.

I'm sorry I can't provide a link. The url is www.wsj.com, but you have to be a subcriber of the web version to read it. If you find a Wall Street Journal today, have a look. You can't miss it. Just look in the center column of the front page.

* I wonder what Omarosa will say when she hears that DT is the "sole star."
timbuk2
Omarosa: The next Oprah? That`s what Jerry Springer`s exec producer`s saying ...

The world is upside down when someone like Omarosa gets ahead, but an honest person like Sherrin Watkins (the "whistle blower" from Enron who tried to correct the accounting situation before it sunk the company) can't get a job in her chosen field.

I think that says something very sickening about corporate life in this country right now.
Blondie
Well, I'd like to be able to contact the producers who are planning this show with Assorama to tell them how much I WILL NOT be tuning in. If anyone knows a site where we can submit our comments (a la the Clairol campaign), bring it on!!

Of course, even if she does get a show, since it is from the same people who bring us the disgusting sludge that is "The Jerry Springer Show", then she will have sunk to the level of notoriety that she deserves....not exactly the "most classiest", now is it, Assy!?!
fgwriter
Just when you thought she was gone for good, Omarosa shows up in The Washington Post, with picture:

Washington Post Style Section 7/28

She's sliming around the DNC, still talking about her line of clothes and something involving TV in September.
archer1267
Oh my God, she's in my crib! Today's Boston.com features photos from the DNC, and she's in one of them. No last name was necessary - she was identified as simply "Omarosa." I wonder if she's somehow going to take credit for Barack Obama's amazing speech...after all, she's a "political consultant."

[It scares me that my disgust for someone I saw on TV and don't even know has not waned since the show ended.]
ccrean
Now I understand why Obama's speech was so great! Omarosa wrote for him and coached him. She picked out his clothes for him, too. I haven't seen Omarosa in any of the televised convention coverage. Thanks for the warning. I would recognize Omarosa in a New York minute, and have a fit if I saw her by accident on my TV. I will keep the remote in my hand at all times.

I am ashamed to be a Democrat.

When 2`s not enough, go for 3, 3 hours that is in NBC`s case as they`re considering doing for the Apprentice 2 finale, which may be moved to a bigger N.Y. locale as explained here http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/s...4p-186523c.html [URL=http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/story/216744p-186523c.html ]/URL]

A Yahoo! article about Apprentice 3 auditions.

Already hyping Seasons 4 and beyond. An L.A. season might be interesting, but not if they stick primarily to the Trump National Golf Club.

Looks like the back-to-back seasons airing is confirmed, barring production difficulties. First a 3-hour finale, now Season 3 scheduled to air in January? Sheesh. Beware the overkill, NBC.
jcpdiesel21
3-hour finale? Whaaa? What are they going to do for all of that time? They barely filled the two-hour finale and the "reunion" last season.
Curly Hair
There's going to be an Apprentice 2 sneak preview on NBC, August 5th.

ETA: OK, I swear I'm not high on LSD. There was an ad for this, with the date and time. Now there's nothing mentioning this. I'm confused. Maybe they decided not to do the preview after all.
AlmondEyes
When I heard about a 3 hour finale, I thought it might be similar to what Survivor does - a two hour show and a one hour reunion show. But since they did that for Apprentice 1, I realized not so much. Overkill, party of one? Your table is ready.

Pssst, Donald - there can be too much of a good thing. C'mon, dude, get serious. No one wants to watch a three hour finale.
FuzzyLogic
Wow. The 3 hour finale doesn't bother me as much as the idea that "The Apprentice 3" will air in January. This is absolutely my favorite reality show. But part of the fun is bitching about the fact that I have to wait so long to see the next installment.

There was also an article a while ago in which Trump mentioned that CNBC would like to air more of the boardroom footage on the Saturdays following the Apprentice show on Thursdays. Again, there was no confirmation that that is what's going to happen, but I think that would be interesting.
