Listen Lady, in one of the interviews I saw with Bill he gave other reasons for choosing the Chicago gig over LA, which includes:

1) He's already in the real estate biz in Chicago (owns/sells condos, etc. and develops them too) so this is more aligned with his background/interests and a way for him to learn about real estate development on an even bigger scale;
2) He also said it's best to do something this challenging with your support system already in place - in other words, Chicago is where his family/friends are and he knows everyone, so it will enable him to take on this new challenge a bit easier. Moving to a new town where he knew no one would make a new job even harder (this was a very smart move, IMO, by him - so many folks underestimate how difficult it is taking on a new job with no support system in place when you're in a new city).

So I'd say he was definitely very focused on the job itself, not just the city. But he also recognized the other factors (support system, his own background, etc.) that play a huge role in doing a great job in the new gig.

US WEEKLY reports that Carolyn has a 'professional crush' on Bill. I saw that on the last few episodes and in the interviews they have been doing lately.
BibiBella
lynettefl, they also said that on Access Hollywood tonight. But what the heck is a 'professional crush'?!
lynettefl
She looked like she wanted to kiss him last night on DEBORAH NORVILLE. My family and I noticed it. I wonder what her husband thinks about that?
Milanne
Tonight's Biography on A&E is a behind the scenes look at reality television. It just started so I'm not certain if this Apprentice will be covered, but there is a bit on the casting of the next season. Survivor and others are also included. It repeats tonight at midnight Eastern, I believe.
Montykins
They're auctioning off Apprentice props and related Trumpabilia on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/apprentice. My favorite item is the Kwame-signed basketballs.
LLalltheway
Caught Ereka on E! television news this afternoon, where she was signing FHM in NYC.

She looked positively haggard, and I normally think she's fairly attractive. Did anyone else see this?
PButtercup
Omarosa on Extra again. She is really hurt that people are calling her bad names - even her friends. She is a really good person - she has 61 first cousins. I feel bad for her - not!
Wrigley
[V8 hand move]No wonder nobody thinks I'm a really good person. [/V8 hand move] I only have 57 first cousins. Gosh darn it.
goobaletta
I feel positively saintlike. I only have 8 first cousins. 0:-)

O's hurt by the namecalling? Pot-kettle anyone? Good grief.

It's funny, I haven't Google News searched once today. Nor did I watch any of the showbiz shows. Weird.

Montykins, thanks for the reminder about the auction. I'd forgotten. Heading there now.

There is talk now of an "Apprentice" spin-off following Bill around in his new job. I knew it! I was thinking that it might be interesting to do that......

Also, another reason Bill may have chosen the Chi job is that it would involve more hands on supervision by Trump himself. Managing the golf course was almost like a reward; the Chi job is more of a job. JMHO.
choco
There’s also surprising news about the villainous "Apprentice" Omarosa today. After stirring up so much controversy, could she be back for the next "Apprentice?" "Well, Mark Burnett walked up to me and said, ‘Are you game?’" Omarosa revealed. "So who knows? There's always something interesting. I'd love to come back for ‘Apprentice Two.’"

Fan favorites, Katrina, Amy and Troy, confirmed they might also play a role in the next "Apprentice" series -- as taskmasters. "I’ll be back there if Mr. Trump fires Carolyn and puts me in her spot," Amy told us.

Lord, I hope they NEVER come back. Don't these people have other careers besides being ex-TV Apprentices? Give the other famewhores a chance. And taskmasters? Whatever for? What will Katty contribute? Tips on how to pose for men's magazines? Amy replacing Carolyn? In her dreams and my nightmares.... Nick and his presidential run is actually starting to look good in comparison. At least he has aspirations outside of this show.
goobaletta
I don't find it surprising at all that the auction item with the highest bid is the 15 minute boardroom experience w/George and Carolyn. Check it out HERE.
mswestern
I wouldn't even lump Omarosa in with Eve and Wanda Sykes. Both of them may have strong personalities (abrasive to some), but at least they have talent in their respective fields.

point taken, blocked writer. I stand corrected.

Unintentionally tuned into the "Best Damn Sports Show Period," and to my surprise, Amy Henry was one of the guests. She came on after the athletes, but before Jim Caviezel (sp?), so go figure.

Highlights:
  • Her heels were so high it looked like she was having trouble walking.
  • Used to work in a meat packing plant, as did Tom Arnold. He wanted to know if they had anything else in common, and asked her if she was an alcoholic. She cheerfully said no, and noted that she had only been married once.
  • She has a file folder that contains her job offers. She'll look at it when she has some more time.
  • John Salley (love him!) called her on talking too much on Leno.
  • Of course, all the guys loved the FHM ad, and encouraged her to do Playboy. When Tom Arnold said that getting $250K for that would be easier than working for DT for a year, she said sure, but she'd have to answer to her father for the rest of her life. Laughs all around. They tried to encourage her anyway.
  • She repeated the stuff about "if she had it to do over again . . ." and mentioned that no one would win any points with Carolyn with "those skirts."
  • She denied starting the "flirt with DT" thing amongst the women, and went further to say that the guys flirted with DT moreso than the women. One of panelists said, "Hey, wouldn't that be on Bravo?" (ha!), but she clarified that she meant all the brown-nosing.
  • The guys tried a few times to get her to dish dirt on O, and she skillfully deflected each time. When asked about the editing, she said that she thought she was edited to be nicer than she actually was, and that Kwame was edited to be "very Harvard MBA," ie: dullsville. She said K was quite the player/partier/ladies man.
  • John Salley closed the segment by saying (re: O) "I love all black folks. I don't want to meet her." (love him more now!)
I'm not a big Amy fan, and haven't seen any of her other post show appearances, so I can't compare. She was quite charming (esp re: her Dad), not overly obnoxious (though she did call Tom Arnold "baby" once I think), and didn't lose her footing on the high road (despite the high heels).

Omarosa strikes again

From today's New York Post.

Way to go guys on the Clairol reference! Although her rep denies the story the ad is dead... the same person who also claims Omarosa was joking with the airline. Hope that job pays really well for sacrificing all self dignity. Poor fool. (The rep, not Omarosa.)

AND this one does mention TWOP by name...

MSNBC's The Scoop
yeahwhatever
We have the pow-ah!

Heh. I wrote an email to Kaplan Thaler expressing my regret that they are representing her. Why don't people understand that there is a difference between villains like Richard or The Guidos or Sam who we love to hate because they do the things we don't have the nerve to .. or because they know the difference between playing a villain on a game show and acting like a diva when the cameras stop rolling. We're fascinated by the likes of Manson and Imelda Marcos too. Doesn't mean we would buy anything they endorsed. OTOH, if The Guidos shilled for something like Travelocity? Would still crack my shit up.

More on the Miss Clairol stuff.

Apprentices are going to be onCNN.

Article about Apprentice-style self promotion not being the only way to the top.

More about Kwame.

And great Finale ratings.

Stuff about Bill's book? And Omarosa too. Heh. I'm loving all the backpedaling from Clairol now.

And something about Sam.
yarnz
Perhaps Clairol, which once used the ad slogan, "Clairol: Only her hairdresser knows for sure," should consider a new slogan for its ads with Omarosa. For example, "Clairol: When you're not afraid to lie to everyone continually." Or how about "Clairol: When it's all about image, not ability."

From Reality TV World. Hee. Should post here on TWOP.
AlmondEyes
edited because LLallthway beat me to it.
ChillinTheMost
I truly despise it when I'm told [by Clairol, this time] that I love to hate someone. I emphatically do not love to hate Omarosa. I am saddened and sickened by the fact that I hate someone this much that I don't even know.

I may never buy Clairol again even if they don't use her, but keep telling me I love to hate someone that despicable.
archer1267
Chillin, that's what I said in my reply to the canned email response I got: There's no fun in hating someone who clearly needs help with her pathological lying. This isn't a case of "oh, isn't she wacky! Aren't her antics fun!" and I don't think anyone who watched the show would think that.

Re the ExtraTV article:

"I'm so excited because this will be my first time doing any sort of acting," she revealed.

Wait a minute. Didn't she claim to have acting experience on her web site (which is still down, by the way) and her resume? I remember posting about that a while ago and theorizing that her "acting" credits probably consisted of a walk-on part in a Howard admissions video.

As for the "61 first cousins," I'm wondering how that's biologically possible. I guess if her mom had 12 siblings, and they all had an average of 5 children...
PButtercup

It's definitely possible - I have a similar number. Plus, some could be on her father's side.

Loyal Viewer! - Omorosa voice - I'd like to thank all my 61 first cousins, whose names I no longer remember, now that I am a YOOOGE international STAR!! /OV
Neko
Why do I suspect all 61 of them are frantically trying to forge new birth certificates? "Related? To her? No way, not me! Never heard of the bitch until the show went on the air!"
ChillinTheMost
I'm glad you told them that, archer! What a ridiculous statement for them to make to cover up their idiocy of attempting to hire her in the first place.

Hee, Neko. I hope there is a forger in the family, so they can get a family rate.

But, then, I wouldn't be surprised to find a forger in O's family. Hell, compared to O, they'd be hailed a do-gooder.

You know, I know all my cousins names, too. Is that really such an accomplishment?
[eta: apparently it is. sorry, PButtercup! and...hee!]
Sleepy Head
So, using simple logic, let's parse this out.

Omarosa said that her actions on The Apprentice were acting and that she was edited to look meaner than she really is. Amy, btw, along with all the other apprentii, makes it clear that the editing made her look better, not worse.

Then Omarosa says that Passions is her first time acting. Which means that she wasn't acting on The Apprentice (which we all knew already) and what we saw is really who she is.

The bitch can't have it both ways.
djmama
John Salley closed the segment by saying (re: O) "I love all black folks. I don't want to meet her." (love him more now!)

John Salley just made my week. Thank you for posting the recap, Wrigley!
kt7byu
I, too, have a similiar number of first cousins (even more if you count remarriages among my aunts and uncles), but, alas, I must not be as wonderful as Omarosa. Although I know all the names, and which family they belong to, I actually introduced myself to one of my younger cousins at my wedding reception. He just looked at me as if I was crazy. And, of course, the videographer caught it all.

But back on topic, did anyone else find it pathetic that the only thing Omarosa could come up with to show her warm and friendly side was the fact that she has 61 cousins? And two cats? How sad.
Kazzie
I too sent an email to Clariol and got their canned reply just this morning. Here is my response.

You obviously did not read my letter of complaint to you. I do not "love to hate" Omarosa. There is nothing about her that is worthy of my love or hate. She is a vindictive and pathological liar and I do not find any redeeming qualities in her personality. She purposely and willfully lied to her teammates on several occasions and her behavior throughout the program The Apprentice was appalling. I did not enjoy seeing her on my television screen nor I do associate myself with people like her. I uphold the values of honesty, humbleness and kindness. For you to even contemplate using her as a spokesperson tells me that the very values I listed above are not important to this company. Knowing that, I cannot and will not use your products again.
Sea
Nicely put, Kazzie.
goobaletta
Another thing to remember if you're a soap opera fan is that P&G owns ATWT and GL. If O does a campaign for any of their companies she'll be constantly horrifying you in the midst of your soap watching. Something she's already going to be doing on NBC apparently with Passions.

Thanks to all the folks posting media links. I can go write in good conscience now.
kattam6175
But back on topic, did anyone else find it pathetic that the only thing Omarosa could come up with to show her warm and friendly side was the fact that she has 61 cousins? And two cats? How sad.
I thought the exact same thing. The fact the she knows all of her cousins' names isn't an indication of her warmth, it's an indication that she's got a good memory. Plus, she has said she's close to a lot of people and those statements appeared to be exaggerations. The fact that she has 2 cats also doesn't reflect her warmth. Hell, we've seen the pictures. She should have just bought a couple of dolls to play dress up with and left the poor cats alone. If those cats could talk, they'd either say how much they hate Assy or they'd be just like the bitchy, spoiled cats from Lady and The Tramp.

I don't believe anything this woman says and stopped giving her the benefit of the doubt a long, long time ago. She's takes a grain of truth and stretches and exaggerates it, then covers it in layers and layers of BS.
Wrigley
You're quite welcome djmama.

And thanks to yeahwhatever for this morning's links. These, in addition to the ones goobaletta provided previously, make me proud to be a TWoPper. I would find it amusing if people sent in another round of e-mail to Clairol/P&G/Thayer/et al. with those fantastic slogans suggested in the RealityTV article . . .
For example, "Clairol: When you're not afraid to lie to everyone continually." Or how about "Clairol: When it's all about image, not ability."

Another bit from that article that I found amusing, and perhaps telling:
We find it amusing to learn that talk-show editing, at least in the case of Oprah, is even more dishonest than reality-TV editing.

From yeahwhatever's link to the Detroit News
Jackson is starting an entertainment company, Legacy Communications Group, to produce films, video games and live events with a focus on concert series.

This makes sense, because the Jessica Simpson thing went so well. Seriously, at least he can put together his own team.

I'm thinking Bill is starting to get a little tired of sharing his media time with the others, espcially Kwame. He did win, but it seems like he is being lost in the shuffle in most of the media percentage. He also needs to come up with some new material, as he gives the same answers over and over in the same delivery, whereas Kwame manages to be fresh covering old material.

Which leads to tonight, on LKL, as dumb as LK is, I would be his slave if he plays the tape of Kwame saying outright he would fire Omarosa, that she lied, etc. while both are on the panel. Camera zooms to O, then split screen with K: deal with it. I can dream.
bettyfinn
My hope for tonight's LKL is that Amy and Oma are sitting together and they've worked out an agreement that anytime Oma lies or says anything annoying, mean, or outrageous, Amy gets to kick her.

And if for some odd reason, Amy chose to wear steel-toed boots, I would be fine with that -- and would refrain from bashing her fashion choice.
choco
There's waaaay too much media attention on Bill's relationship with Jen Scheft. I hate watching them interrogate Bill about his personal life. He's obviously just started dating this girl and the relationship is in that delicate early stages. I wish they would leave him alone about it. If the media keep harping about it, it could really ruin things between them. You can tell Bill is clearly embarrassed and uncomfortable about the topic. In fact, more attention seems to be focused on Jen Scheft than Bill's win as the Apprentice. Can't they leave his love life alone and just ask him about the show for once?

Also, I think because the show ended, a lot of the interviews we are seeing now include the last 8 apprentices. Whereas the others who were fired early like Sam, Troy, Nick, Amy and Assy have had the chance to do all the talk shows by themselves. Bill and Kwame have been lumped toegther and with the return of all the firees so we rarely get to see an interview with them alone.
AlmondEyes
We have the pow-ah!

Absolutely, we do!! The MSNBC article linked by Llalltheway wasn't the first I've seen that mentions this site, either. I can see it now: today, TWoP conquers Omarosa. Tomorrow - who knows what other world evils we're capable of squelching??

Vermicious Knid
The Post has a tidbit, buried in the Starr Report I think, that Extra arranged for Oma's guest spot on Passions. Funny how they didn't mention that in their own coverage. I know they were going to follow her around the set on last night's show but it was interrupted here for tornado watch coverage. Apparantly they also think she's a 'love to hate her' personality. Perhaps a few of those emails should be sent Extra's way.

BWAAHAHAAA! Too funny.

I thought of Amy when I was at the grocery store this weekend. The Hy-Vee had a Hummer outside. They'd given away a Honda the year before, so we went up to register...and it was to win a weekend rental for the Hummer! My husband and I looked at each other and burst out laughing. Still, I think it's pretty clear in all her media appearances that Amy still thinks she can do no wrong.
Neko
Breaking news! On Larry King, Trump just offered to pay for Troy's college education at any school he wants (Larry asked to confirm this), 100%! Hell yeah!

The look of surprise on Troy's face was wonderful. He just said that he's thinking of Harvard undergraduate (for his boy Kwame) and Wharton graduate school, then he'll start working for Trump.

Listen Lady, I thought that was cute, but part of me wondered if he was hedging his bet, thinking that Dramarosa might object and thus kill the deal.

Oh God! Dramarosa just said that she did lose the Herbal Essences endorsement deal. The reason? "[She] just didn't get the moan down." Herbal Essences, according to her, being all about the shower and the moaning. Dramarosa then sniped that she should have taken moaning lessons from Amy. Bitch. Oh, and Boyfriend Bill apparently hooked her up for the gig, in case you were wondering where to throw those brickbats.
Listen Lady
It was kind of cute that Trump wanted to make sure "it was okay with everyone else." That's the dad coming out in him, not wanting to play favorites. Very nice gesture.

If Bill's audition wasn't for The Bachelor, why has the Bachelor been pimping it for the last hour?? I think they want to bring down the winner of the 'other network's' star reality show a few notches, no?

Agreed. I thought it was one of the least classiest things a network could do.

About Larry King, that was good but with so many personalities it was hard for anyone not in the studio with Larry to get a word in edge wise. Omarosa hit a new low with that moaning comment about Amy. Omarosa was using some new legal excuse for answering certain questions regarding The Apprentice presenting reality, which then caused a serious argument. The main argument was between Bill and Omarosa, and I think Bill handled it well saying that it was reality, with the others backing him up afterward. All but the exception of Kwame, who preferred to stay above it all and not play in any catty games. I thought that was weak, and further showed as to why he didn't win. He just can't take a stand in heated arguments. I would have liked to see Omarosa and Bill on the same team, because it looks like they would have some heated arguments.

Neko, I missed most of the show, but glad to know that Oma lost the Clairol gig - I think the backlash by folks like us is what killed it, hee! Of course, she has to keep her 'pageant face' on so no surprise she'd have some excuse as to why she didn't get it.

But how exactly did Boyfriend Bill hook her up to get the gig?!!

Yep, but Bill did take her on "mano e mano" [sic] in the first 15 minutes once she started the old bit about how she was portrayed and "...can't talk about that, contractually bound".

The transcript of this show will be good.

What disappointed me was Kwame, he flat out refused to claim his own words regarding O and her lies, how he would fire her, etc after Larry played the tape.
Sydnie
I also loved it when Amy called Omarosa on her original "interest in the FHM shoot", how Omarosa was not asked to pose but was trying to get Amy to hook her up so she could be in the shots too. Omarosa, of course, denied that was true. Amy went on to say that Omarosa was going to do "the Maxium shoot" until Amy bowed out. Omarosa protested again, that she was never going to do it, but you could tell, without using the "L" word, that Amy was painting her all over with liar paint.

Amy, obviously, has had enough of Omarosa. At one point during this exchange, Omarosa was leaning on Amy and Amy was looking at her like she thought Omarosa was contagious. That was priceless.

During the discussion that Omarosa was intimating that she was not as bad as she was, really, and was merely portrayed that way, Amy delivered another zinger too. She said, very directly, to Omarosa that no one put any words in her mouth.

I think, given a few more of these interviews where they are all on stage, eventually one of them will crack and lay the smack down about just how crazy she really is to her face. Makes watching these interviews almost as interesting as the series itself, since we are still waiting for the her to get what's coming to her. And who better to deliver it than one of the others that were there and saw it all first hand. I just can't figure out if it will be Bill or Amy.
yeahwhatever
GAH!

I completely forgot to watch. *Sam death glare*

What disappointed me was Kwame, he flat out refused to claim his own words regarding O and her lies, how he would fire her, etc after Larry played the tape.

I wish this surprised me. Reason #3278 why Kwame did not win. *sigh*
Neko
But how exactly did Boyfriend Bill hook her up to get the gig?!!

They didn't go into details. Here's that section of the conversation (I'm going to use LK for Larry King, BB for Boyfriend Bill and Bitch should be obvious):

LK: Omarosa, what are you gonna do?
Bitch: Well, I'm a political consultant. It's a presidential election year, so you'll see me involved in the fall in some way, continuing...
LK: For which candidate?
Bitch: Well, you know I'm a Democrat die-hard, so I'm rooting for Kerry and I'll be doing the work for the good Democratic party as I have been for the last 7 years.
LK: As a paid consultant?
Bitch: As a paid consultant; and I am also negotiating for the talk show; continuing to endorse products; and go out on the motivational speaking tour.
LK: Did someone pull an endorsement from you?
Bitch: It did. And ironically Bill was responsible for getting me the Herbal Essence commercial.
BB: That's right, I was. I was.
Bitch: He's a businessman through and through, but I didn't get the moan down.
BB: I never got my 10% cut, though.
Bitch: Baby, I'll give it to you because I still got paid. I still got paid. But I didn't get the moan...
LK: Why did they drop you?
Bitch: I didn't get the moan down, you know, the Herbal Essence is the moaning and the shower and I just didn't get it down. I should have took some lessons from Amy.

I've left out various [sic] notations throughout because apparently Dramarosa doesn't know the product name is Herbal Essences (among other grammatical oddities). I replayed the tape many times and listened to what she said, because live closed captioning usually paraphrases when people start talking quickly.

Definitely read the transcript when it's available. Does Larry King re-broadcast at another time in the wee hours?
sammygeorge
If the Bill interview shown tonight on The Bachelor wasn't for The Bachelor, what show was it for??

Boy, did he look like a famewhoring sleeze in that interview.

I'm sorry I missed LKL tonight. Sounds good. Any other interesting tidbits?
