I don't know about MSNBC or CNBC, but original flavor NBC is rerunning the Dateline special followed by a rerun of the finale on Saturday, 8-11 EDT.

and didn't really add anything interesting to the story.

Except that Assorama's brother is in jail. I howled every time she said that. I'm afraid you probably aren't too far behind, Ohmyneurosa.

many thanks, everybody. I wonder what's been going on in the real world? I really must look into it again sometime.
RedBliss
I can't believe I missed this in the original episode, but tonight's Dateline revealed Omarosa's perfect career...she can be a plumber! What with that ass crack she was sporting in the "life's too short to be a bitch" scene with Katrina. EWWWW!!!
kattam6175
I taped TA and watched The Bachelor. Did Assy say why her brother was in prison?
RainIsBeautiful
She didn't say specifically, but she revealed that he was in a gang.
Shelwood
Has anyone checked to see if Assorama's husband was blinking S-O-S with his eyes? I did learn a couple things from the Dateline. First, Sam is the only person in the world who looked at Trump's apartment and went, "Ooh, classy." Second, Bill's degree isn't in business. Finally, if Kwame ever decides to go on Tha Down Low, Isaac Miz-a-rahi will be first in line.
cellochick
I taped TA and watched The Bachelor.

Me too, kattam! I just finished watching the tape, so, my favorite parts from the Dateline special:

Sam kept the dress from the Miss USA commercial ("I'm a perfect size 12," says Sam).

Troy being interviewed with his sister who gave him the Hat. (and the Troy baby pictures were sweet also)

Isaac Mizrahi giving his take on his encounter with the Apprenti (including that Kwame was the one who was still working after the cameras were turned off, nailing down all the details at the end of the visit).

There were multiple lines from Mark Burnett that made me laugh, but I can't remember them at all now.
GRBecca
The interviews with Troy, his sister, and his wife were heartwarming...and that Kwame helped him dress for success adds to the overall charm of both.

The most ironic and appropriate quote in the whole thing...from Katrina to Omarosa:

"Life's too short to be a bitch!"
FuzzyLogic
Did anybody else catch the part about Kwame lending Troy suits during the competition? At first, I thought aww how sweet. But then....Kwame looks like he's damn near a foot taller than him. Hmm....
JulesP
The gist of the interview with Omarosa is that she claims she was brought back to "rile things up" and that some creative editing made her look back. According to Assyaroma, she called Diane back after dinner -- infront of her team -- and Diane assured her everything was squared away.
Having just watched the rerun, though, Omarosa said, in her own interview by the tree, "I got a call from Diane in the middle of dinner."

Plus, it makes no sense for her to have called Diane before dinner and then get a message from Diane's office that she's not there and to call back later. That's implying that her office called to say, "Hi, I know you called for Diane earlier, but she's not here right now so call back again later." Dumb.

And there's no way she spoke to Diane in front of her team. They were clueless the next morning that any communication had even transpired between Diane and Omarosa. In conclusion, she's lying. (I know, shocker.)

I saw Dateline this evening, and here are a few highlights:

* Ereka is a kickboxer and is now engaged to her BF, who seems nice but timid.

* Katrina is also engaged to her high school sweetheart BF ,who also seems nice but timid.

* Lots of footage of America's Sweethearts Nick & Amy bickering like an ole married couple. You could tell they've been getting on each other's nerves. Amy says she hates doing joint interviews with him. Nick complained about how cold Amy was and how she broke his heart in front of America. Amy basically told him to shaddup about it. Nick announced his political ambitious and plans for the White House. Amy listened to this and laughed hysterically - much to Nick's chagrin. I almost liked Amy at that moment.

* Nick's demo tape consisted of him trying to seal a copier deal. He had a very bad perm. Like a big red jerri curl.

* Bill owns lotsa property. He's been getting a lot of female attention on the street and via email. He looks happy.

* Kwame's audition tape had him waking up in the morning in his boxers. Nice legs. Firm tight butt. He also did this dance as he got suited up as the Black Corporate Man. That was funny. Didn't realize Kwame had a sense of humor.

* Lots of shots of Kwame being a lot more animated than I've ever seen him. He and his HBS buddies have been doing deals with Sean John and other businesses. Looks like he has some interesting business deals in the works. It also sounded like he was planning some events as well.

* Troy's wife talked about Troy supporting his Mom and his deaf sister. Troy truly is a rags-to-riches self-made man. His story was amazing and really touching. Troy's sister also appeared and Troy signed for her. (sniff) I heart Troy.

* Kwame lent Troy a couple of his suits because Troy didn't have enough proper business attire. Awwwww. That was sweet but I'm surprised because they don't look like they share the same size. Maybe men's clothes is different....

* Kwame's marriage ended because he still has wild oats he wants to sow. He's a professed "skirt-chaser" and says he needs a few more years of being single before he'll be ready to settle down again.

* Bill says he's still single because he hasn't met the right woman yet.

* Omarosa's husband is a cutie. He seems like a really nice guy, but a bit timid.

* Omarosa's father died when she was 6. Her brother joined a gang and later went to jail. She hopes he can leave the thug life and get his life together.

* O put herself through school by doing beauty pageants. We also saw her cat. It was wearing a tiara.

* There was also a scene with O in the park. A group of young girls wanted her autograph, and some guys wanted their picture taken with her. She's very tall and thin. Actually, she's a very strikingly beautiful woman. I never noticed that before.

* Sam's family seems really nice. They're close-knit and he and his Dad can auctioneer in unison.

* There was a scene of Bowie Hogg jumping into a pool. Big Splash! Then he cracks open a beer.

* Isaac Mizrahi lurves Kwame. He think's he's the best-looking guy. He said most of the apprentices he met that day were idiots. He said he was most impressed with Kwame and that after the cameras stopped running, Kwame was the one who approached him and wrapped up all the details and organized things.

* Danny Deutch was frightened by the women's overt sex tactics during the presentation. There's a scene of Heidi leaning over the table and flashing her cleavage at him. But, he said liked Amy the best and would hire her.

* Most of the panel lurved Bill. But they worried about a true entrepreneur like Bill fitting into an organization.
bettyfinn
Nick announced his political ambitious and plans for the White House. Amy listened to this and laughed hysterically - much to Nick's chagrin. I almost liked Amy at that moment.

Me too! Nick's in the background talking about political ambitions, and I think he said something like he'd "eventually be running the country." Amy was in the foreground with a puzzled look on her face up to the part about running the country when she busts out laughing.

But, my favorite moment of the show was seeing Assy's cat and her little cat tiara. Aw. I immediately thought of Miss Alli's recap:

I just want to encourage you to respect the dignity of all of God's creatures, except for cats, because cats are really funny
josieb
I enjoyed the Dateline show, but it seemed like it took what the Apprentices said at face value. We heard all the same stuff about book deals and talk shows, etc. At any rate, I thought the panel at the end was great. They seemed to have a good grasp on things. I think they bought their bullshit detectors from the same catalog as DT.
I still can't stand Omarosa. She wants a prize for not being in jail, as if it's some major accomplishment not to get yourself thrown in the can. Doesn't she realize that the expected pathway in life does not involve jail? No, I haven't forgotten the whole projects to White House line. But big damn deal. So she does pageants? She's really no great shakes.
clandrith
After watching Dateline, I heart Troy even more. Seeing him with his sister...sign language...the Troy-isms....the delicious ho-yay with him and Kwame....Kwame loaning Troy suit because he didn't have many. awwwwwww. I want to hug him.
AlmondEyes
Amy says she hates doing joint interviews with him.

That's because she's an extreme famewhore who doesn't like to share the spotlight, a microphone, or a camera. Still hate her. And Nick's haircut in his audition tape is most unfortunate.

Kwame's audition tape had him waking up in the morning in his boxers. Nice legs. Firm tight butt.

Mmmmm, that was an awesome shot, wasn't it??

That scene with Assorama in the park - WTF?? Unless you're doing a photo shoot, it's odd to wear that outfit to a park IMO. I think she dressed up like that in order to be ready for her close-up with "admirers." She also implied that she was an outcast among the women because she didn't participate in the sorority girl bullshit. Sure, Erekatrina and Amy were probably competing for the title of homecoming queen, but Assy conveniently forgets to add that she was a raving sociopathic pathological liar.

The show didn't profile these Apprenti: Jason, Heidi, David, Tammy, Jessie. I wonder what's up with that?
pocha
I lurve Troy. No, scratch that -- I luuuuuurrrrrve Troy. If the man weren't already married to a beautiful and loving woman, I'd be driving to Boise tonight. Ambitious, hard-working, and a true family man -- does it get any better?

And oddly, I'm now happy that he didn't get to the finals, because I honestly don't think he needs Trump. He'll make it on his own and owe nothing to anyone. I'm also pleased (absurdedly so, I'll admit) because I too am a Westerner, and I think the West is where we belong: Big Sky Country! NYC can have the corporate weasels, and we'll keep the homegrown talent!

Otherwise, I didn't see anything on Dateline that came as much of a surprise. I have just about the same opinion of each of the apprentices that I had prior to Dateline, although my respect and admiration for Troy have increased (and the levels were already pretty high). I doubt Assorama could have said or done anything to change my mind, and I dislike her as much as I ever did. I wasn't particularly impressed by her sob story about her brother. Not that a sincere attempt to reform is a bad thing, and props to him for trying; but isn't that his story to tell, not hers? The whole thing felt like a sympathy grab, a calculated move by someone who finally realized that she was getting a lot of bad press and was trying to recover. Leave your brother's battles out of this, Assorama -- I doubt he needs the media attention just now.

Sam, on the other hand, I liked lots, but I liked him before Dateline. What can I say -- I like cheerful nutjobs.
perfectblue
I looked through the thread and didn't see this article posted, so hopefully I didn't miss it. I was at the library today and saw my school newspaper had an article about Bill: LU grad edges out competition in 'Apprentice'. Nothing really major, obviously, but some quotes from Bill's sister.
pocha
A general BTW: the park in which Assorama and her small retinue made their royal progress was the paved path around the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC. It's the wrong season for cherry blossoms, or it would have been more recognizable. If Assy and Co. had continued to walk, they would eventually have reached Jefferson Memorial and the newer, less-famous FDR Memorial. It's one of DC's most popular places to picnic, jog, bike, stroll, or lie on a blanket and canoodle, and a pretty good place to see and be seen.

I got my very first hickey lying on a blanket about a quarter of a mile from Jefferson Memorial. A real beaut, too. Damn you, Assorama! You're spoiling the memories of my debauched youth!
kattam6175
Speaking of Assy in the park, was it just me or did the guy on the bike look frightened when she reached out to shake his hand? And, a big "BWAH!" to the guy who just wanted to take her picture and not have a picture taken of him and Assy together. Can you imagine not wanting a picture of yourself and Assy together to post on the celebrity portion of your website? How un-classiest.
Rabrab
to the guy who just wanted to take her picture and not have a picture taken of him and Assy together.

One word:

Dartboard.
SerendipityCA
Dateline was a combination of fascinating and appalling.

Fascinating because:

Mark Burnett is perhaps the most interesting entrepreneur/mogul of them all. I'd want to be his apprentice before being Donald Trump's. Mark Burnett almost single-handedly invented reality TV, although he hates that term...I think he said he prefers 'unscripted drama?'.

Yes, I know MTV was doing The Real World a decade ago...but Mark Burnett has put reality TV on the primetime map, and he keeps doing it better than anyone else. Not to mention he created and televised the Ecochallenge after participating in Raid Gauloises; I could watch the Ecochallenge in real-time and not be bored.

But I digress...

Fascinating because:

of the boardroom round table with Carson Daly, Isaac Mizrahi, Mark Cuban (internet billionaire), the guy from the ad campaign early in the season, and an older black woman whom I didn't recognize (help me out here). I thought their opinions and comments were very well-formed and insightful. Except...

Appalling because:

they almost unanimously said the apprentice they would pick to work for them was not Bill, not Kwame, but - Amy?

Appalling because:

Dateline took Omarosa's resume, performance and future prospects at face value. And because I finally realized tonight that she is probably not going away anytime soon, and may actually have the last laugh (or, insane cackle).

And that dress? A strapless summer frock with a silver ribbon across the top, fitted to the waist, with a flared skirt that reminded me of those poodle skirts from the 50's except with polka dots instead of poodles. She's attractive (beautiful at times) but she can't wear frilly and feminine. She looked like Ru Paul in it.
jacobndiana
So dissapointed with the Dateline Roundtable - how come no one wants our boy Troy? Et tu, Isaac Mis-a-rahi? Troy gave you ego stroking and a good idea for the auction, and you cast him aside for the "skirt chaser" in boxers?

Hated Carson Daly on Dateline. He has always seemed down to earth to me, but he came off as if he had an axe to grind. Okay, Tammy WAS completely annoying to him and he had the greatest bit about Jessica Simpson not being lost, but just get off my TV now (and go straight to the barber - that growth on your face has to go)!

Anyone else think that MB saw Kwame's audition tape with the "skirt chaser" and thought "SCORE" and how dissapointed he must have been when he didn't look twice at any of the short skirts "casted"?

Edited because punctuation and past tense count.
pinkgodzilla
Did anybody else catch the part about Kwame lending Troy suits during the competition? At first, I thought aww how sweet. But then....Kwame looks like he's damn near a foot taller than him. Hmm....

I was thinking in-house tailor. But then again I was thinking about Kwame and Troy sharing a suit and I got all kinds of distracted.
SVNBob
Kwame's a New Yorker, right? Maybe on one of their days off (like the men's spa day), Kwame went home and got some of his older suits.
Rabrab
There's a substantial height difference, but nothing that a good tailor wouldn't be able to fix easily (hem up the pants, possibly the sleeves of the jacket would need to be shortened.) The suit coat, I don't think would be much of a problem, though. Think back to those lovely shots of the both of them doing pull-ups in the gym in tanks: they're built pretty much the same way on top. There's not a lot of difference in shoulder width or chest size.

And if Troy is as short as he looked walking between Kwame and Bill at the casino (to me he appeared to be close to a foot shorter, which would put him at around 5'4" to 5'6"--I think that someone said that they're both around 6'3") any suit jacket that wasn't custom would probably hang a bit long in the body, so he'd already know how to minimize that.

Dress shirts might be a problem, because there you've got to consider collar size, and even with a tie, it shows if it's wrong, but shirts can be laundered easily, and one white dress shirt looks pretty much like another, anyway, so I doubt if Kwame needed to lend him any shirts.

Anyway, that Kwame lent Troy clothes, for me, adds even more to the scene of them getting ready for the last boardroom together. Class acts, both of them.
quickychick
The shot of Kwame and Troy shaking hands right after the suit-sharing was mentioned showed Troy's coat to be quite roomy/long on him but I didn't think to look for the sleeve length. Thank goodness reality TV finally had some really nice guys on it.

Assorama's stomp through the park with that strapless dress? *snerk* Her arm looked horribly thin when she stuck it out to attack that poor passerby--she shouldn't wear strapless anything ever again. And pizz on you Dateline for not uncovering the truth about Axehead.
babygirlchickie
Has anyone checked to see if Assorama's husband was blinking S-O-S with his eyes?

BWAH! The man looked and sounded positively terrified.

And:

Finally, if Kwame ever decides to go on Tha Down Low, Isaac Miz-a-rahi will be first in line

Oh, no doubt. Mizrahi was crushing on Kwame hard. *LOVED* Troy's interview segment, and the suit-sharing? Awwwwwww.
isabella19
I loved that Troy was what Asso is pretending to be. Poor family in desperate circumstances, but he did what he could to help and is now a success. And I loved that we just found that out now via a backgrounder rather than him telling us.

Unlike Asso. Who came from the poverty-stricken mean streets of Youngstown OH. Did anyone else think that whoever wrote that and whoever v/o'd that were having a go? God knows she got away with everything else. No one questioned her directly on the talk show and the book deal. By the way, I haven't heard too much about the clothing line recently...
Baby Fish Mouth
Dateline piece was great. I could not care less who Carson Daly and Isaac Mizrahi think is going to win, but I loved watching the audition tapes. I'm diasppointed there wasn't more of Heidi though. It seems the only reason they did a segment on Ereka was because Omarosa's allegations.

Troy is a sweetheart, and I'm sure he's going to excel in anything he chooses to do. He'd make an excellent motivational speaker. I must say I was somewhat disappointed to hear Kwame say that the reason his marriage ended is because he's a skirt-chaser. At any rate, Bill is welcome to come looking my way if he wants to extend his search for the right woman.
Sassi214
What really bugged...

Omarosa starting out her interview by stating, "...everyone thinks I come from a wealthy background..."

Then going on to rehash her rise out of the gutters of Youngstown, Ohio.

As soon as she got those first few words out, I started yelling, "No they don't! Because you've told us a thousand million times how you went from the 'projects to the white house'!"

I just don't get anything that she says.

I did think that her husband seemed nice, even though he was only on camera for a few moments.
I got the impression that he doesn't take her crap and that she is probably more real and flawed around him. He seemed like he wouldn't allow her to pull out any of that BS that she loves to spew. IMHO.

As far as Troy goes...I don't think I could dig him more. Very sweet. Very grounded. Very likable. He'll continue to be great even without this Trump gig.
Baby Fish Mouth
Double post-sorry!
BibiBella
Oh my god, Omaidiot is on the cover of the NY Post today. It's a full length photo of Oma here in NYC yesterday wearing a very short skirt and looking over her shoulder with a 'come hither' look. I'm sure she's crowing over being the Apprentice chosen for the cover of the paper.
lovinbob
Who came from the poverty-stricken mean streets of Youngstown OH. Did anyone else think that whoever wrote that and whoever v/o'd that were having a go?

I don't know that much about Youngstown, but I am of the impression that it is a tough, depressed area. Bruce Springsteen had a song about it in the late 90s that I think addressed this problem. It doesn't surprise me that the projects there would not be a good scene.

(Not to defend Assorama. She's a lunatic.)

Well, yeah, he would be.

Not to speak too much in favor of the Queen of Passiveagressiveland, but her rise from the Ytown projects is a nice story - or would be if she was not, so, well, Assoramaesque. I lived in Youngstown for about 15 years. During the time that she was growing up, Ytown had the highest per capita murder rate in the country, and the Westlake Terrace projects were a rough, rough place. Lots of people wound up like her brother. And, of course, a lot of people made it through life in the projects without turning into absolute horrorshows, so that isn't an excuse.

Troy made me wish that I was either female or gay.
Roark13579
they almost unanimously said the apprentice they would pick to work for them was not Bill, not Kwame, but - Amy?

That was surprising, but then I thought a couple things. First of all, the question was "work for," not "hire to run something," which is theoretically Trump's focus. Also, the panel was made up of a bunch of self-made entrepreneurs -- Bill types, basically -- and they admitted that in their own companies, there wouldn't be room for another person like that. I think they picked Amy as a capable employee who would be a compromise between Bill the maverick and Kwame the friendly lump.

If the question had been, "Who will be running the most successful business in five years," I doubt anyone would have answered Amy. She'll probably have a nice, well-paid job somewhere -- maybe with Donny and the Nipples of Power -- but Bill and Troy are the ones who seem most likely to go beyond that.

So Kwame dumped his wife to chase skirts, huh? Boo, Kwame, boo. One boo for doing it, and another for saying it like it's just the natural thing to do. Just when I was starting to like him more than an amiable lump, too.

Did anyone else think the women tended to look better off the show? I thought Heidi, Katrina, Ereka, and even the one whose name shall not be spoken again by me, all looked nicer in their post-show interviews and audition tapes. Katrina especially can be very attractive when she doesn't look like she's trying out for Taming of the Shrew. Heidi looked so much less severe I almost didn't recognize her at first.

I was a little disappointed they didn't manage to fit in pieces on all sixteen candidates. At least a quick "what are they doing now" bit would have been nice. N-word-gate could have been shortened considerably to make room. On the upside, maybe last night dealt with that officially and we won't have to hear about it tonight on the finale.
Monco
From a radio interview with Sam:

- Since the n-word controversy broke, he's gotten tired of being constantly associated with Omarosa, in terms of how they're both from DC, how they're the show's two most infamous contenders, and how they're supposedly friends in real life. Also, he doesn't believe Omarosa's story.

- Erika supposedly had a diva moment before going on the Today Show this morning, because she didn't like her makeup. She washed it all off and had it done again.

- In regards to the women, he said that on the whole, they make him glad he's not single anymore, especially Erika. But he does have a mostly positive opinion of Amy, and thinks Kristi's hot.

- He complained that while the other guys on the show get nude photos and propositions from hot women, he gets fan letters from gay men, grandmothers, and twelve year old girls.
KC_Eliot
Did anyone else see the cast on the Today show this morning? First Katie Couric interviewed Donald and Mark Burnett (sp?) - it was pretty interesting. Then Lestor Holt interviewed the entire cast except for Bill & Kwame. They lined them up in order of firing, so Ereka & Assorama had to stand right next to each other. Hee!

Lester Holt asked Assy about lying on last week's episode. She totally avoided the question by saying that she "had fun" with the project and that despite her planning, everything just "fell apart." It was classic Assorama bullshit.

Sam really is short, but I still love him (shut up). My favorite part was when Donald said that Sam is the Apprentice candidate who is most like him, because he is a rebel. Especially after watching Sam laugh at himself last night on Dateline - even admitting that he carried around that piece of paper saying "Shut up, Sam" - I just think he's a really great guy. Crazy, but great.

Also on Today, you could totally tell that Assy was looking at herself in the monitors whenever the camera was on her (or Donald, whom she was standing almost directly behind). Eeewww.
pechluck
More on Bill-

The local paper here (Chicago Tribune) has a small story on him in which they interviewed his close friends and sisters. A few interesting factoids are

- He's the baby: his siblings are all older and female.

- "In college at Loyola University, he was a late-night DJ at the campus radio station. He's run the Chicago marathon twice; he plays volleyball at North Avenue Beach in the summer, takes an annual snowmobile trip, likes skydiving and often goes running, inline skating or water skiing."

- He owns a BMW SUV and lives in Lincoln Park in Chicago, which is a trendy neighborhood where housing is not cheap. His sister describes his house as "immaculate" and follows up with this: We went to the Marshall Field's home store and picked out everything in it in one hour," she says. "The style has clean lines, and he's very neat. I spilled Jell-O on the carpet once, and I thought he'd have a heart attack

- He is a hometown boy: he has never lived anywhere but Chicago

The older black woman is B. Smith, one of those lifestyle gurus. She owns a nice restaurant in NY that is a hangout spot for, among others, a number of black professionals. She's also been touted as the "black Martha Stewart."

I hope good things come Troy's way, since he's such an incredibly great guy. Wow. This one is going far, for sure. Sam also seems extremely likeable.

It's a shame, really. At the end of the day, Apprentice will be remembered primarily for being all about Assorama.

goobaletta, thanks for the links. Loved that you had to take a breather after seeing the picture! You're a lifesaver in a very boring day!

Enoughorosa (kudos to the coiner - I like that better than Assorama at this point) proves the whole "bad publicity is better than no publicity" thing. Really. And, I am SO glad they showed the SNL skit on her.

The Dateline NBC show was great:
I always liked Sam. And I love his commerical w/ Trump. Go Sam, go.
Bill and Amy are SO together!
Erika is so meh.
Katrina is so beautiful (really, much prettier than on the show).
And Troy is so.... please clone yourself Troy! I loved you before, now I really, really, love you.

Wow, can't believe there's not more here yet about the Today show today, but I suppose most of y'all are at work and haven't seen it yet. Being a stay-at-home mom does have it's advantages at times!

The two most interesting comments that I heard (I only saw the part with the apprentices, not the part with Donald and Burnett alone) were these:

1) Donald, I think, or maybe it was Burnett, saying that this "group" was one of the smartest groups of people you'd ever find yourself around. All I could think was "God, I hope not."

2) Burnett said that he didn't tell Donald who to fire. It was all his decision and he implied that he didn't even consult with Donald about it. He would be like "let's talk for a minute" and Donald was all, "I'm ready, let's go" and they'd film it. Don't know if I really believe that or not.

And thank you, KCEliot for explaining to me why Assorama was always looking off stage or somewhere except directly into the camera (except when she was giving her non-answer answers like "well, I kept trying to make things work, but everything I did just kept falling apart." Right.) Also, on that subject, how did Panorama (TM someone else) think she was going to get by with the "after dinner we all had a conference call with Diane and straightened things out" lie? I mean, the others who would have been in on the conference call were right there! I wish someone had called her on it. Of course, maybe she was referring to the time when she and Troy and Kwame were in the office trying to straighten things out. Still, it does seem unlikely, as someone else pointed out, that the others would be so surprised by what happened the next day if they had really been in on a conference call.

I'm really insanely pumped up about tonight's finale. What will I do tomorrow? I hope I don't sink to watching The Bachelor until The Amazing Race returns.

I'd like to hear more about what happened on the Today show. I have to be at work at 8, so I just get the teasers.

I know I'm late to talk about last night's Dateline special, but really quickly, I just want to say...my opinion of Troy (while already high) has shot through the roof after last night. Seeing the stuff with him and his (half?) sister almost brought tears to my eyes. The way they interacted was priceless. He may be the best, most non-fame whorish person to ever pass through reality TV. So, here's to Troy.

I also saw the Apprenti, the Donald, and Mark Burnett on the Today Show this morning. I can't seem to help myself -- I'm watching everything Trump and/or Apprentice-related on TV these days, even though it seems that if I get one new scrap of information for every 30 minutes of TV I watch, I'm lucky. Some random observations on this morning's show:

1. There was a cute "green room" scene where Trump bites into a muffin, makes a face, says the food in the green room is terrible, and fires the NBC assistant standing nearby.

2. All the women were dressed conservatively except for Amy, who was wearing a low cut cotton dress tied in bows at the shoulders.

3. It seemed that Troy could not take his eyes off of Trump. He gazed mournfully at Trump the whole time. I think getting fired broke his heart.

Baba Wawa and her crew of nitwits are arguing about Omarosa right now on The View. Star Jones keeps talking about how she has "friends" who are telling her that Omarosa really IS fielding tons of lucrative offers. Survivor girl and Meredith Viera seem outraged by the idea. Joy Behar is too busy laughing at her own jokes to react.

They said some other stuff but I grew bored.

Re: Dateline
Except that Kwame is apparently a player ( boo!)

In all seriousness, I screamed out "Nooooo!" when he said he separated because of his skirt chasing. It was like realizing that your dad was the one eating the cookies you left out for Santa all those years. Sigh. I wonder if he cheated. I'm so heartbroken.

Hey, Assy, phone's for you. It's Minnie Mouse. She's got a date tonight and wants her dress back. Did anyone notice that in her old pictures, she seemed to have a lot more weight on her? Especially the ones with Gore and Clinton. Now she's a praying mantis, and as someone pointed out, her arms are so!skinny! Weird.

Also I have a yuuuge question for anyone who may know the answer. I know that Omarosa grew up in poverty (didn't you know that!?) but her participation in pageants puzzles me. It looked like she had lots of trophies and crowns all around and pageant footage on the TV behind her in her audition tape. Pageants cost amazing amounts of money, and most people get started early in life, right? Are there ways to get scholarships to -be- in pageants? How could she afford such an uber expensive thing if she had such a hard upbringing? I'm asking so that someone more educated in pageant life can explain how it's possible. So, any help?

PS: If you didn't like Troy before, you have a heart of stone if you still feel the same way. Word to everyone who noticed that he has the story that Assy pimps out like a ten cent hooker, but he's not blabbing about his tribulations all.the.time. Just blabbing about being country.

She wants a prize for not being in jail, as if it's some major accomplishment not to get yourself thrown in the can. Doesn't she realize that the expected pathway in life does not involve jail?

Bwah! josieb. Reminds me of Chris Rock. [Chris Rock voice]Whadda she want? A cookie? You ain't suppose to go to jail, ya low expectation havin' muthafucka.[/CRV]

On the Kwame/Troy suit issue, maybe Kwame gave Troy the suits and they took them to be tailored.
