Choco, thanks for the link to the Deborah Norville transcript (interview with George and Carolyn). Really really good reading. George and Carolyn were both emphatic than Omarosa would never have made it to the end. George thinks Kwame is a great manager of people. And the final task was about managing the former contestants, many of whom were not all that interested in helping them win. I think TPTB may have deliberately designed the final challenge to see how Bill and Kwame do under pressure in a management role, as leader rather than team member. And, the winner is going to head a division, and maybe not even start at the top, is how I interpret George and Carolyn's comments. Lots more good insider info, well worth reading the whole thing (find it a couple of pages upthread).

As for Kwame's evite, boyfriend needs to learn how to spell. He spelled "breath" "breadth" and said "I would be remised" when I think he means "I would be remiss."

An old boss of mine, who is now 84 and retired, recently advertised on Craigslist for a part-time assistant in his home office at between $15 and $18 per hour, depending on experience. Such is the state of employment in the San Francisco Bay Area that he got 250 resumes in response to the ad. And eliminated 200 of them right off the bat due to poor spelling and/or grammar.

Went all the way back to page 103 and didn't see any links to this article from MSNBC: How do the big three reality shows compare?.

It's a rather funny comparision of Survivor, The Apprentice, and American Idol.
Jill
No way that is an actual Evite from Kwame. They are LIVE on tv that night with a post-event scheduled for after the show. This is an example of some jackass trying to poke fun without a firm grasp on how to use a thesaurus.
I mean give the man some credit. No one that gets an MBA from Harvard and worked for Goldman Sachs (as name-droppy as Trump is, that is a TOP organization) without knowing how to use remiss.
I am all for making fun of reality contestants, but in this case, Bill and Kwame are the most deserving of being a final 2 in ages and whomever's idea of a joke that was, it is just lame.
Rainmaker
Just got my FHM today...

I think these pics answer the question about fake or real. Katrina and Kristi, obviously fake. Amy and Ereka, look real. Katrina is definitely a hottie. I could see her getting some print modeling contracts out of this.
sickpuppy
I guess if we needed journalistic "proof" of the Jen/Bill romance, here it is.

Another comely couple in lust is "The Apprentice" finalist Bill Rancic and "The Bachelor" cutie Jen Schefft. Schefft, who ditched millionaire bachelor Andrew Firestone a few months ago, met fellow Chicagoan Rancic during a local radio promotion, according to US Weekly. The two were set up by Rancic's older sister, Karen.

Here's the link if you want to see the rest of the items.

Howard Stern is having the girls of The Apprentice (ie: Ereka, Katrina & Kristi) on, right now!

ETA: He's going to hook up Ereka to a lie detector and ask her if she called Assorama "the N word".
yeahwhatever
Re choco's FM snippets

Zoinks, that keeps getting worse and worse. What about turn ons and turn offs? They really turned down Playboy for this? I'm not fan of the bunny but this just seems so low rent and sleazy.
wiggygirl
Bill and Jen? What happened to Bill and Amy? I guess I'm outta touch. Oh well, soon I'm sure we'll be hearing about Ethan and Amy and Ereka and Kristi, and....I don't even want to go there!
GoddessMelissa
Erica just did her lie detector test on Stern. She has never used the n word and has never used it against Omarosa.
Katrina and Kristi have fake boobs.

An article from the NJ Star-Ledger about the success of job interview/audition shows like Apprentice and American Idol: Applicant Screening
GoddessMelissa
Erica just did her lie detector test on Stern. She has never used the n word and has never used it against Omarosa.
Katrina and Kristi have fake boobs. Katrina mentioned that she roomed with O, who told her that she felt isolated b/c of her race-Howard interupted her. Katrina is cuban
The three of them were came across well.
Robin, Artie, and Howard got on their backs about not being real business women.
Tashanir
Yep...businesswomen at their best.

On the Howard Stern Show the women admitted:

Katrina and Kristi admitted to having fake boobs

Katrina has only slept with one person in her life - her fiancee

Ereka admitted to currently having a Brazilian bikini wax

Amy wouldn't do the show with them supposedly becasue she was "busy doing other press."

Ereka thinks she should buy a vibrator for herself

Katrina did not bring up Amy or go on about Amy's alleged trysts

Ereka said she wouldn't sleep with Trump to get the job and added "I don't want the job THAT bad."

Ereka took the lie detector test. It was determined that she was being truthful about not calling Oamrosa the "n-word." But when asked if she felt African American "scream racism" because they want to "chisel something out of somebody" Ereka said "Yes." She also was the one to bring up Omaorsa initially in the interview. The women were asked why they didn't do Playboy and they said that FHM was more what they were about. They wanted to be remembered as businesswomen, but Robin Quivers said, "Yeah...but weren't there a lot of cat fights?" Ereka quickly answered Yes, but there was "one woman" who caused most of the problems.

Howard mostly talked about the FHM spread (duh--wasn't that why they were there?) and Ereka interrupted Howard and said "Have you talked about Oprah?" (refering to her appearance.) Ereka was taking the lie detector test and didn't hear the show/conversation that Howard was having with the other women.

It was very obvious that Ereka wanted to talk about Omaorsa and decided to push the conversation in that direction.
clp
Good for her for taking a lie detector test! Now, buck up Assy and do the same - I want to see her make that machine smoke and blow up.
ChillinTheMost
The problem with Osaroma [whatever] taking the lie detector test is that it gauges lies by measuring your heart beat and skin moisture and other physical reactions - your body's reaction to telling a lie is a quicker heart beat and sometimes sweating, even if only slightly. I think Omaroma [whatever] is so deluded that she thinks she is telling the truth and the detector would have no way of telling otherwise. Either that, or she lies so often that she couldn't get through the baseline questions to give the detector a valid reading of when she isn't lying.
surlychick
Ereka said she wouldn't sleep with Trump to get the job and added "I don't want the job THAT bad."

Yeah, but the funny part about that was that she was asked if she would sleep with Trump to "win", she answered no, and the lie detector said she was lying.

Ereka also talked about her Oprah appearance, how she was very upset about not being represented fairly. She claimed that Omarosa did not want to appear in the same segment with her. Ereka stated that the arrangement she had with the show was that they would appear together, that they would be sitting together on the couch and that she would be able to answer any allegations directly. She was really upset that she was placed in the audience. Also when Oprah asked her if she used the word she asked that the show eliminate the question and her response because it was cut. It went along the lines of "Anyone who knows me for more than 5 minutes knows that I would never..." and Oprah responded with "But I don't know you...".

Also, the girls are signing copies of FHM Friday at Tower Records in NYC/Lincoln Center.

ETA: They showed brief clips of the Apprentice audition tapes this morning on the Today show.

Amy - tell us that all that is left of her ".com" offerings is "this house, this crappy motorcycle and divorce papers".

Bowie - jumps off a roof directly into a pool and cracks open what looks to be a beer

Sam is shown driving around DC and raging at other drivers, and then playing his cheesy piano

Ereka - shows herself working out, saying "if I don't look good, I don't feel good." and visiting her parent's pizza place

Kwame - shows himself getting ready to go to work in the morning, including some very cute dancing

Bill - shows his apartment, talks about his accomplishments, and is standing in front of some apartments (that he owns?) talking about how their starting price is $500,000

Tammy - talks about her co-workers would describe her as "arrogant" and brags about finishing another expensive lunch. And her teeth are really bad.

Nick just shows himself selling to a customer. He has a really bad haircut.
RamonaQ
He has a really bad haircut.

I don't think "bad" accurately describes the hair. They need to invent a whole new word to describe the atrocity that was Nick's hair.

The Apprentice hit #2 in the ratings last week and won the 18-to-49 demographic last week for the first time, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Excerpt follows:

The week's biggest draw, according to Nielsen, was the spectacle of "American Idol" contestants mangling Elton John songs last Tuesday (the episode drew 23.5 million viewers). "The Apprentice" was No. 2 in total viewers (22 million) but No. 1 in 18-to-49-year-olds, giving The Donald one more thing to brag about. "Survivor" was third (20.8 million), followed by Wednesday's "Idol" and "ER."

It's a sunny Wednesday here in Yoknapatawpha County and a construction crew is working right outside my office window. Argh. At any rate, here are today's collected TA news articles, opinion, and feature columns. I've tried to cull the best. There's a LOT of Trump business news today that I didn't include but for one about Mar-a-lago at the end of the list because it has a pretty good TA related quote. Check back because if I find any more that are worthy I'll add them.

Final Round. From the NY Post entertainment page. Good article about Bill and Kwame. Bill gets the most coverage in the story. New information about both, but more about Bill. This one's a keeper.

Ask Jeeves Calls Apprentice Winner. A press release from something called PrimeZone. This is A MUST READ! Very interesting stuff.

Scandals of 'The Apprentice': Steamy secrets behind TV's hottest show. From the NY Daily News. Dish! Some we've seen, some we haven't. Go. Now!

The genius behind 'Apprentice' (it's not Trump). From The Arizona Republic.

Who's the boss? Donald Trump, that's who. Associated Press story via MSNBC.

Chicago's Hope. Chicago Tribune entertainment article - free registration may be required. This one's for the Bill fans. There's a poll. Interestingly the poll results are pretty close with Bill ahead by about 5%.

Is ‘You’re fired’ alcohol on the way? From Trentonian.com. Worth a look.

It's down to Bill vs. Kwame in ''Apprentice'' finale. From the Virginian-Pilot @ HamptonRoads.com. Some snark aimed at Omarosa by the writer, but basically a wrap-up catch-up piece.

Trump has earned the right to be 'The Donald' From the Daily Press in Hampton Roads, VA. "Humor" column. I've seen worse.

Headhunters rate 'Apprentice' candidates. From the Chicago Sun-Times.

Martha trumps Donald. From the Philadelphia Daily News - free registration required. Opinion piece. Better than I expected from the title. Worth your effort.

The Apprentice: Interview with an Empire From ElitesTV. Loooong analytical piece. Tiny print. Nothing new for those who are true TWoP TA forum frequenters.

Trump's Cooking Now. Miami Herald - free registration required. Basically about his Mar-a-Lago Club and his dealing with the Palm Beach Town Council. For Trump diehards. A couple of TA mentions in passing, but the only really funny one came from the mayor.
Mayor Lesly Smith suggested a new traffic plan might be needed if more beach events are scheduled, but she later dropped the idea.

''Perhaps this is something Mr. Trump could assign to his bright young apprentices next season,'' she said.
Scary thought, that, considering this season's crop.

Kwame - shows himself getting ready to go to work in the morning, including some very cute dancing

Plus, he is morphing into "Black Corporate Man" HEE!!! (his words, not mine although I am not quite sure if it was black corporate man or corporate balck man, I forget now, but it was cute)

ETA- On the Today Show they also added that they could not show all 10 minutes of the Aprentices audition tapes, but that in Kwame's, he admitted to being a "skirt chaser"

Rainmaker,
Just got my FHM today...
I think these pics answer the question about fake or real. Katrina and Kristi, obviously fake. Amy and Ereka, look real.
...you called it!

According to Tashanir,
Katrina and Kristi admitted to having fake boobs on the Howard Stern show.

Anyway, some highlights (or low points) of the interview not noted by others:
  • Was it just me or does Katrina have one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard? Plus, she keeps going back to stock phrases and canned speeches she's used in previous interviews, that she sounds like a Chatty Katty doll. ("Just pull the string in back and out comes one of only three phrases. Give the Chatty Katty doll to the aspiring little businesswoman/underwear model in your life!") She really shouldn't do radio because it only emphasizes the fingernails-across-blackboard quality of her voice. Or, in honor of Miss Alli's classification of Katrina's facial expressions, 85% Bitchyvoice with 15% Self-Righteousvoice.
  • Yay! Howard for calling them out about FHM being "more classier" (most classiest? ha!). He said (and I paraphrase), Why bother making the distinction between FHM and Playboy when, I think, anyone doing a reality show is a little bit off? Let's be honest, a businesswoman who wants to be taken seriously wouldn't go on a reality show in the first place.
  • Katrina sarcastically commenting on the fact that Amy was not present: "I have my own opinion on why she's not here." Yeah, maybe she can't stand to be in the same room with you.
  • Kristi acknowledging that she was in "Red Shoe Diaries" and that she was an aspiring actor at that time. Geesh! How many of these people are "aspiring actors" looking for a leg up?
archer1267
If anyone is planning to be in Atlantic City anytime soon, take advantage of This yooooge deal - just got my weekly Travelzoo alert and Trump Hotel is in there. Although I wouldn't say $55 for a last minute deal is all that great - I've seen cheaper deals in Vegas.

From "Scandals of 'The Apprentice': Steamy secrets..."

Even good guy Troy McClain could not find a nice word to say about (Omarosa). "Her tongue is like a razor blade," he declared. "You couldn't melt butter in her mouth."

How I will miss those Troyisms!
SurlyBooty
Even the O'Jays (opening credits music) are getting some attention out of the show, though they don't really seem to want it.
NorthShoreJane
Kristi acknowledging that she was in "Red Shoe Diaries" and that she was an aspiring actor at that time. Geesh! How many of these people are "aspiring actors" looking for a leg up?

I think Kristi's previous career as a soft-porn actress indicates the is quite capable of her leg being "up".

These were some of my favorite quotes:

To keep Amy and Nick from rumpling the sheets on his king-size bed in the Trump jet, The Donald made sure they were accompanied by her sister and his father on a prize trip to Florida.

I guess he meant it when he said they'd better not have sex in his bed. He even arranged for chaperones!

Bill and Amy danced intimately and kissed at a party in February, even though Bill has a steady girlfriend in Chicago.

Bill certainly gets around. All these Bill hook-up rumors...boy sounds like a major playa playa.

Meanwhile, The Donald claimed that the women secretly lusted after him.
"All the women flirted with me, either consciously or unconsciously," he wrote in his new book, "How to Get Rich Quick." Kristi admits, "I flirted with him, hands down. I'm talking about smiling and being interested."

Could his ego get any yooooooger?

"I've never seen a group of women fight so viciously and despise each other like this group," he said.

Score one for the sisterhood.
LLalltheway
Great Apprentice scoops in the new Star magazine with Donald and Ivana on the cover... I can't link, and I don't believe I can copy verbatim.

The gist of the interview with Omarosa is that she claims she was brought back to "rile things up" and that some creative editing made her look back. According to Assyaroma, she called Diane back after dinner -- infront of her team -- and Diane assured her everything was squared away.

So, of course, in the morning, she was confused as to why Diane called again to claim no arrangements had been made. When Kwame asked her if she had spoken with Diane, Omarosa said no because she thought he was asking whether they had spoken AFTER that call.

Riiiiiiiiiight.

Cognitive dissonance is a beautiful thing.

I was flipping through People and Entertainment Weekly at lunch and both had a picture from the FHM shoot.

Way to look professional, ladies.
isabella19
No, I think they look like professional ladies...
goobaletta
Hee!
skagirl77
Make that old professional ladies (and one dude).
chrysanthemum
It's odd that everyone has classified Katrina, Kristi, Amy, and Ereka as the "attractive" reality females. To me, they are heinous. On camera, Ereka seemed the only pretty one, but those FHM photos...sheesh...

Secondly, Kwame admitted to being a "skirt chaser"? KWAME? Is it bad that I'm jealous?

And, in an interview with Amy on TVGuide several days ago, she said that Kwame had a crush on her. Is this another of her, "even my mother has a crush on me" comments, or, is she serious?

Because if that's Kwame's type...I have no shot.
jld5166
I read in the NY Post today that Bill has been spotted with Jen from The Bachelor (Andrew Firestone season.) They are both from Chicago and were set up by Jen's sister.
choco
On camera, Ereka seemed the only pretty one, but those FHM photos...sheesh...

Ereka lost me after all that talk about her vibrator.... Too much information. Some things should be kept private, IMHO.

Amy told Cosmo that all the men had a crush on her. Typical Amy. Rumor has it that Bill and Amy hooked up temporarily. Kwame was interested in Melania, Trump's model GF. Heidi has said in interviews that most of the men were interested in Robin and trying to get her phone number.
chrysanthemum
How do you know this?
Kwame was interested in Melania, Trump's model GF

And could it lead to Trump not wishing for Kwame to win?
goobaletta
chrysanthemum, it was in an article linked to in this forum by NorthShoreJane. CLICK HERE for the original post with the link. You may wish to take the info with a grain of salt. The source is The Star tabloid.

oh vienna! Excellent linkage! My favorite quotes:
Bill, a hard-working cum laude graduate of Loyola University in Chicago who founded an online cigar business, seems to possess all the killer instinct of a bichon frisé.
They both seemed grounded and capable of having a conversation about someone other than themselves. They're the kinds of guys The Donald would probably like his daughter Ivanka to date. And the kinds of guys who would make fine executive vice presidents and middle managers at a Fortune 500 company. The show that was supposed to mint New York's next brash entrepreneur has instead given us the Organization Man, 2004.

Thanks, goobaletta!
Rabrab
Interesting article (the one in Slate.)

If, that is, you accept the author's basic premise: that of course Trump was looking for someone like himself, and was heavily weighing how much they were like him in his decision to keep or fire them.

I, personally, find that premise faulty. Trump doesn't have a rep for surrounding himself with Trumpalikes.

Jack Welch isn't Donald Trump, and they each have their own style of leading companies. While Welch may have made GE into a "fertile ground for CEOs-in-training", Trump seems to be much more about keeping the people he trains working for him than he is about training them and sending them off to run somebody else's company.

This line: "He set out to find a young person who exhibited the brash leadership qualities he does." When was that articulated? All I ever remember hearing was that he was looking for someone who could handle being the president of one of his companies; not that he was looking necessarily for "brash leadership" but that he was looking for "leadership".

ETA: I disagree that an apprentice is someone you have in training to learn to do something exactly the way you do it. Lop off the last six words, and I think it's a more accurate definition of "apprentice". Yes, part of apprenticeship is learning how 'the master' does it, but exact duplication of style isn't the point; development of ability is.
Penarol1916
Damn you oh vienna I was just coming to post that very same article. I believe that you can take the idea that he was looking for someone like himself from the title of the show, "The Apprentice" while probably not technically true in the case, the fact that they are to become his apprentice would mean that the Donald would be looking for the next him. That is basically what an apprentice is, training someone to do something exactly like you do it.
SurlyBooty
Here's an article comparing "The Apprentice" to "The Swan".

But "The Apprentice" encourages viewers to believe that they, too, could be taken up by a benevolent, omnipotent boss who will test them and make them better and if they fail, help them understand why. Like rhinoplasty, the workplace rarely delivers such miracles.
Listen Lady
Here are some tidbits from Extra today:

Kwame is married (3 1/2 years) and separated.

Kwame flirted with Melania and told TD she was the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. TD was "very impressed."

Regarding the prize job, Trump will present the winner with several jobs to choose from.

The suitcases were empty.

Ereka and Heidi "had eyes" for the production crew.
lynettefl
Huh. I thought that Kwame was divorced. Also, where would he have had an opportunity to flirt with Melania? Plus, Trump is the jealous type. I think EXTRA has been reading THE STAR.

ETA: The suitcases were not empty. They had a few essentials to last them for a few days until the production crew went and packed the rest of their things.
bobosh
If, that is, you accept the author's basic premise: that of course Trump was looking for someone like himself, and was heavily weighing how much they were like him in his decision to keep or fire them.

Not really.  The author implies that the elimations based on Trumpalikability  were a factor but subconcious.  He does have a point.
I, personally, find that premise faulty. Trump doesn't have a rep for surrounding himself with Trumpalikes.

That is precisely what the article is saying. This guy is arguing that The Apprentice was launched on the claim that Trump was looking to groom someone to be like him. But he found his own traits too unbearable as they stared at him in the faces of Nick, Amy, Katrina, Assy, Heidi, and Troy, which is why the least dramatic and least self-absorbed Kwame and Bill are the ones left standing.
Listen Lady
lynettefl, the separation and flirting comment were Extra voiceovers, but Trump said himself on screen that Kwame told him Melania was beautful and that he was impressed by that.

Trump also said on a different show that he's "not thrilled" about doing live television in front of 30 million people, but he'll do it.
Girlysogroovy
The latest In Touch magazine has an article about Troy and his family. It has a couple of pictures of him as a boy and a babilicious picture of him with his shirt undone. There isn't anything new in the article, but the pictures are worth a good ogle or two. The issue also has pictures of TA's "most memorable moments", such as the meteor that fell on Omyheadhurts' head, Sam sleeping on the office floor and Amy and Nick dancing. Nothing worth spending your money on, but it will make the time pass faster in the grocery checkout.
jcpdiesel21

From waaaay back:

There's also an agency I won't identify where inept workers are sometimes transferred to not do any harm and job hunt. That agency has a disproportionately high number of layoffs and buy-outs when these things happen, and they somehow manage to keep the competent ones, so it's clear who really works and who's in the lane for the exit ramp. Everyone knows what's going on there.

Aha! So now we know why the CIA is having such problems!

And in an article back a little while ago it was mentioned that last week's ep "Down to the Wire" was the second-highest rated ep of the season. Does anyone know which was the highest? The pilot? Sam's firing? O's firing? Just curious.

I forgot all about tonight's Dateline special--is it being rerun on MSNBC or CNBC?? Thanks.
sabbie6
The Dateline special was so cheesy, and didn't really add anything interesting to the story. Except that Kwame is apparently a player ( boo!) and wants to be the next DT. Also, I actually liked the panel o experts at the end, even though they didn't say much, except that Carson seems to think the game is fixed. The Amy and Nick interviews were more of the same tired stuff.
qualelucifero
The other day in the supermarket I saw some magazine--maybe US?--with a headline something along the lines of "The Catfight Continues" with photos of the women of "The Apprentice."

Is that a sad thing to see on a magazine cover for women in business, or what?

The show started out with 8 men and 8 women. At least one of the men--Sam--was played up as a wacko, but his behavior SINCE the show has included proposing to a longtime girlfriend (warm and fuzzy) and lampooning his own on-show behavior in a sequinned gown (which indicates he has a sense of humor about his own weird intensity). The other men fired early on--David, Jason, Bowie--basically disappeared after their post-exit interviews. Except for the different takes on the ethics of the Kwame Jackson signed baseballs by Nick/Bill and Troy/Kwame, the men by and large did not spend a lot of time getting into verbal fisticuffs with their competition. And when Bill ended up on a team with Troy and Kwame, he pulled his load. Only Nick behaved in a passive-aggressive manner when he didn't get his 'way', but even so Bill chose him for his final team (maybe as the lesser of various evils, but still...well...lesser.)

What did the women do? They have been in the media CONSTANTLY badmouthing one another and badmouthing men and badmouthing Carolyn and threatening lawsuits and posing in their underwear.

Think about it. They've acted like a bunch of monkeys, sniping at everyone in sight and baring most of their (fake in at least two cases) boobies. They've provided ammunition to any sexist male in business who claims managing women is like herding cats and he'd rather not bother. And can you blame him, really? Why not hire Sam, who's wacko but can laugh at himself so maybe in time his wackiness can be tamed into something more like inspired creativity? Why not hire Bill and Kwame, who can bond AS THE LAST TWO RIVALS over a bottle of Mo? Why not hire Troy who still is the biggest supporter of Kwame even though Kwame took him to the boardroom? Why not even hire NICK who never made an unchivalrous comment about The Blonde Beast Amy, despite the way he was pr*ck-teased by her, then insulted by her and twitted about her by Bill and by The Donald?

We really don't need the full lyrics of a song taking up space in the thread. Moreover, before you start a paragraph with "think about it," read the thread and see if a lot of people have already said whatever it is you're saying. Which, in this case, they have.
