Commentary written by the president of Western International University:

Bwa ha! I worked for the British satellite of WIU years ago and would take anything a WIU administrator said with a grain of salt - if that much. At the time, the school didn't have accreditation, and people could re-take exams if they weren't satisfied with their grades. I didn't have much faith in WIU's ability to prepare students for the real world back then - then again, most of the business students went back home to Karachi to work at their well-off dads' businesses.

An article in my local paper (Newsday) says that Omarosa may be a guest judge on American Idol

Excellent! She can add "Musical Advisor" to her ever-growing list of credentials.

Here's an unintentionally funny article (my favorite kind) on Nick, who recently celebrated his b-day at the Playboy Mansion.
txsunshine33
In those pagent pics, she reminds me of RuPaul.
oldbabe
Also this quote really cracks me up:
But Omarosa--fired by The Donald last week--refuses to complain about the show's editing.

I guess she changed her mind since that quote. On Oprah last week, she was quite vocal about the editing, although since she was sitting next to DT she was careful to add, "but I take responsibility for all my actions on the show." Gag.
choco
My God, Nick is going to conquer the world!

"I thought I did a phenomenal job and I am ready to conquer the world," he said before an appearance on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno," exuding the energy and confidence that prompted Trump to tell him on one episode that he had "it."

"I have the White House in my sights in the next 30 years," Warnock added.

Could his ego get any bigger? Hee hee...
goobaletta
Yeah, his disposable camera's sights. Bah.

And if you look at her family photos you'll see that even one of her cats has a tiara. And the pillow behind the cat? It's made of a fabric with the word "beauty" on it and little golden crowns.

Actually, I think it says "The Princess" on it. OK, all you can see is "The Prin", so I suppose it could say "The Prince". Didn't someone say that the cats names are "Beauty Queen" and "Prince Charming"? And you can tell from the look on the cat's face (the one wearing the tiara) that she knows that she's living with Assorama and is begging to be rescued.

eta: I was thinking the same thing about the cats not looking like "japanese miniatures" (whatever they are). The little black cat looks like it might be a munchkin (those are the cats that are bred with little stubby legs like dachshunds), or it might just be the camera angle on a nice little kitten. Hard to tell.

last update: I found this link about mei toi cats.
pinkgodzilla
Neither of those cats look like 'japanese minatures'. They both look like your ordinary neighbor's cat's kittens grown up.
goobaletta
Beauty, Princess, it's still galling. Although I have to admit my female feline does have a fascination for all things sparkly. I think she'd rather bat a tiara around than wear one though.

I read an article about miniature cats yesterday, pinkgodzilla, and apparently all the "breeders" do is breed runts to beget runts. Reputable catfolk discourage this sort of breeding because it leads to health problems and also it's not really producing miniatures, but full-sized cats that are simply at the smaller end of the normal size range.

From the article about Nick:
"I have the White House in my sights in the next 30 years," Warnock added.

Good Lord. Perhaps he could be Omarosa's Chief of Staff, or she could be the assistant to his assistant's assistant.

On Oprah last week, she was quite vocal about the editing, although since she was sitting next to DT she was careful to add, "but I take responsibility for all my actions on the show." Gag.

oldbabe, my take on her comments were that she took full responsibility for how well she carried herself, blahblahblah. In other words, if she came across as an intelligent, composed, exemplary in the face of daunting pressure African American Woman, she takes responsibility for that. Otherwise, it was the editing.
dilooni
Excellent! She can add "Musical Advisor" to her ever-growing list of credentials.

Exactly! Barf :-(<<<<<<< And you know she'd just sit there all smug and pretentious as she imparts her wonderful advice to the contestants. I thought the point of AI was to have people who know what they are talking about to give those kids constructive criticism. But then again, that doesn't explain why Paula is there. Kidding!

Thanks for the link to the cool quiz. I got 90%. I didn't know the name of the theme song. Shame on me!

Omarosa says she remains in touch with other cast members--including Heidi Bressler, the "Apprentice" contestant with whom she sparred at length. The two have made amends. "I used to talk to Heidi a lot when we were first watching on TV, but it's hard for both of us to watch the horrible things she said to me," she said, "and for her to see me talking about her."

Isn't this an interesting way to phrase things? Heidi was the one saying mean and nasty things to Omarosa while Omarosa was merely discussing Heidi.

I actually think it's a pretty accurate assessment. I know Omarosa provokes people, but she doesn't do it by saying out and out "horrible" things to their face. She's very calm to their face, but just comes across as demeaning, whereas Heidi calls people a fucking bitch and such to their face. I don't like either method of treating other people, but I do think the description is fair.
txsunshine33
Very interesting analysis by Black Enterprises here.

They predict Kwame the winner, but they've been tough on him from day one and identify Omarosa as a "liability."

I found it interesting what they thought of Amy...

And another major error by Amy-forgetting that Trump hates disloyalty. Trump's position on this point was made clear during the competition: You don't spare someone from the ax because of a personal relationship, but you don't engage in a personal relationship to gain a professional advantage at the other person's expense. Sure, everyone knew that Nick was the weakest of the four finalists-all four interviewers, George, Carolyn, and even Kwame and Bill said so. But if Amy was smart, knowing that Trump was fully aware of her flirtations with Nick, she would have recommended firing Kwame (she'd already named Bill as her strongest competitor Week 12). Nick still would have been fired, but Amy would have protected her reputation and integrity and avoided seeming, to use Trump's word, “cold.”

It's a rainy Monday in these parts and a good time for perusing your TA articles of the day. I hope you have a slow day at work or that your boss isn't around much because there's lots of reading to be had. On with the show...

You're Hired!!! Bid on Props, Memorabilia and One-of-a-Kind Experience Packages From 'The Apprentice' on eBay April 15 - 27 to Benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Okay kids, be still y'all's hearts. This came out over the PR Newswire this morning. Woohoo! (I wonder if TAs can say the name of the Foundation correctly yet.) Yahoo News has this item online too.

Amy's interview w/TVGO Insider. Nick's will run tomorrow.

The Psychology of The Apprentice Basically a rehash of much of what has been discussed in these forums from Elites TV. Oddly, very little is said about Omarosa. I've read better here at TWoP.

The Trump ace is ... From the NY Daily News. A bit of a closer look at Kwame and Bill than I've seen before. Pretty fair coverage. One thing about Bill caught me by surprise.
It was [Bill's] idea to audition for "The Apprentice" as a promotion for the firm.
So apparently he's a better marketer than I've been thinking he was. That's a very Trumpish tactic too. Just without the gilt.

Trump's ready to say, 'You're hired,' to 'The Apprentice' From the Salt Lake Tribune. Again a rehash for the unschooled, but some nice quotes from T-Roy that aren't so colloquial and even a couple I've not seen from TD. This reporter seems to have actually done his job. Nice change, that.

Next Season on 'The Apprentice': Poor Joe Stockholder? Opinion piece from the NY TImes. More about TD's casino mess touching on how it contrasts with the success of TA. Closing line:
It's a shame that in a post-Enron world, the cult of the shameless C.E.O. lives on.

How to succeed in business by really firing. I missed this article/review from the San Diego Tribune yesterday. *shock* It's pretty funny. It opens thusly:
Pink, pink, pink. Pink everywhere.

Stroll into the lobby of Trump Tower at 725 Fifth Ave. and you're surrounded by pink marble – pink floors, pink walls, pink ceilings, even a waterfall cascading down a wall of pink.

If a flamingo wandered through the spotless glass doors, he'd disappear in the camouflage.
Another gem:
Seen close up, Trump has the soft, round, pink face of a baby – and the keen, intense eyes of a predator. Every hair of his billowing golden pompadour – it looms large in his legend – stays firmly in place.
Hee! I love this writer!

NBC News has a full deck of Trump. Basically a listing of where you'll find all things Trump and TA on NBC owned news outlets for the week. Worth a look. A couple of new ones.

Letter to the Editor of Africana.com about Omarosa's lies to Kwame. Concise and well-stated.

Saving Trump's Booty. Another from the NY Daily news. A profile of a guy who's supposed to be saving Trump's casino operation. A mere mention of TA in passing, but if you're a Trumpite you'll want to read it.
Halcyon
Thanks for the link to those pics. So she was Mrs. America. I still don't think that as prestigious (if that's the right word) as one of the Miss contests, but whatever. I do feel sorry for those cats. I think someone should call the ASPCA on her for animal abuse!

]Thanks for the links to all the articles goobaletta. I'm not working today, but I always appreciate some Apprentice news.

Amy's interview with TV guide has brought me out of lurking mode. I cannot stand that woman. The part talking about taking Kwame to task about not firing Omarosa is riduculous. Didn't he say that if he had the luxury of firing her he would? I can't wait for her fifteen minutes to be up!
MadelenaS
Count me as another one surprised with Omarosa's apparently great friendships with guys like Sam and Bill. Sam stated that the guys had no problems with her. Have any other male contestants said the same?.

It occured to me that she is one of those women who state how they can get along with guys much better than with other women. Questions is - why and how can the guys not see the nastiness?.
Wrigley
Questions is - why and how can the guys not see the nastiness?.

MadelenaS, seems to me that the guys are better at keeping their eyes on the prize, and therefore look past the nonsense. Their beefs with each other have tended to be about business related things (ethics, effort, etc.) rather than emotional things. I find that refreshing, and hope that the next set of female Apprentices take note. And I also hope I can win the lottery without buying a ticket.

Just watched Nick and Amy on The View. But before I get to that, The View women went to town about the FHM photo spread. The conclusion they came to was that if they were going to do something that unbusinesslike that they should've taken Playboy's $$$ and removed a few more pieces of clothing rather than looking like poor man's Victoria's Secret models and doing it for free. My choice of phraseology there, btw, not The View women's.

Anyhow, Amy and Nick. Nothing new from their other interviews except that Nick said flat out that he felt Katrina was edited poorly in the show and that she's really a very bright and capable businesswoman. Amy kept quiet about that. They both basically said that O lied about the 'n' word incident. Duh!

Nothing was said about Nick's wanting to be POTUS. I'd have loved it if that had been brought up. It was a nice interview. Both Amy and Nick are determined to stay above the fray apparently. I think that's wise.
minxmarx
From the TV Guide interview with Amy:

Amy: He should have fired her, and I think that's a question that he'll have to answer in the boardroom. I'm planning on asking it.

Two things:
1. It seems like Kwame can fire Omarosa. Its been mentioned before that it may be possible for him to do so.

2. "I'm planning on asking it" Do the bootees get to quiz Kwame and Bill in the final boardroom? It sure seems like it.
FuzzyLogic
That was a pretty good interview. Star took her to task. And Joy was just sitting there with that "I knew all of you were hussies" look on her face. I'm beginning to think that Joy just hates skinny women. She was annoying with Carolyn, but in this case...I didn't care lol.

I hadn't seen the photoshoot until today. They all need a hug and is it me or does Kristi look...akward. I don't know if her head looks too long or her torso too short. Just something's not right there.
whiskeypriest
Kristi look...akward. I don't know if her head looks too long or her torso too short. Just something's not right there.

Someone I know has speculated that Kristi's been... enhanced, and that what looks odd about that picture is that they don't hang.. quite right.
choco
Joy Behar has said on the show before that she thinks all the Apprentice women are a bunch of "skinny bitches". It was funny because she kept repeating it and the women were joking about if it would trigger a 5 sec delay. It didn't.

I saw The View today too. Amy spoke 80% of the time. Nick was pretty quiet but I was surprised when he piped up to say that Katrina was the only person who had been edited unfairly. He said in real life, she has "big heart" and that's she's a nice person. That was the only time during the interview that Amy was quiet. Nick was as pompous as usual but really funny too.

Amy waffled a bit on the FHM spread. At first she tried to downplay it by saying she heard Star did the same thing. Star vehemently denied it and said she had posed in a swimsuit, never in her skivvies. Then Amy said she was overwhlemed by all the attention and wasn't thinking clearly. She said the women didn't intend to pose in their underwear but when they got to the photo shoot, it just happened. That was kinda weird and the women all pounced on that. Apparently, they got paid absolutely NOTHING for that shoot. Nick seemed to think they should have just taken the $250,000 and posed for Playboy. Trump has said the same thing. Star agreed because then at least they would've been paid rather than revealing themselves for free.

I think she's rooting really hard for Bill, but she wouldn't name him today for some reason. Both got edgy when asked who they liked.
FuzzyLogic

That was silly on Amy's part. There is a picture in Star Magazine where a photographer took a shot of Star and her fiance at a beach. Star never "posed" for the picture, but she was caught in a swimming suit.
bettyfinn
Did Amy really bust on Katrina's use of "casted" in the TV Guide interview? Or was that the editor's remarks?

Because if Amy did it? HA! HA! HA! She's all, (paraphrase) "Katrina was really poorly edited, I think she is a wonderful person and much smarter than they edited her to seem. Oh yeah, BTW, she doesn't speak English correctly."

I think that's fantastic! I guess it's kind of bitchy, but I think it's just great. Does that make me bitchy, too? Guess so.
TessieCee
She said the women didn't intend to pose in their underwear but when they got to the photo shoot, it just happened.

And that's the underwear they just happened to be wearing??

Keep in mind that half of the men got sent home first. Of those who didn't, only two had to work with Omarosa--Kwame and Troy. Neither one is the type to talk smack even if it is warranted. Interesting that the people on the record as her "friends" are also the ones who didn't have to spend a whole lot of time with her.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, I went back 15 days/pages, if I missed it I apologize in advance.

The Today Show is conducting an online poll about who should win The Apprentice. They will announce the results on Thursday!!
iMissEthan
Do the bootees get to quiz Kwame and Bill in the final boardroom?
Mark Burnett is nothing if not a formula-follower. Since the ousted Survivor contestants get to ask a question/make a statement at the final tribal council, I would imagine the same thing applies here, even though there's no jury situation on Apprentice.

Thanks for the link to all those articles on the previous page, and for the View summary. I don't know how I'd keep up without you guys.
BibiBella
Someone I know has speculated that Kristi's been... enhanced, and that what looks odd about that picture is that they don't hang.. quite right.

I don't think there's any speculation about this to be had about this - those are fake boobies, and bad ones at that...they are placed too low on her chest and not close together at all, thus they look really weird. And if you think bad fake boobs look funny in a bra (which at least pushes them up and together), they look even worse just 'hanging' alone.

Amy/Nick on the View today: First off, Amy screwed up - and got called on it by Barbara Walters - when they walked out. She hurried past Elizabeth and Barbara (to the middle seat where she sat) without EVEN GREETING THEM! (you would have thought Amy was running to a fire, no lie, she was moving so fast to get to her seat). Barbara told her "well, your first mistake was not greeting the host" or something like that. I thought it was pretty rude myself.

Secondly, Amy's backpeddling on the FHM shoot - reminds me of girls who say "well, we just got into the backseat to kiss and all of a sudden we were having sex"....duh! Like one of them couldn't have objected to appearing in lingerie (if they didn't know about that - which I highly doubt). And then Amy trying to say that Star had posed in a similar photoshoot (not true, as explained upthread) was just rude and tacky.

Seems Miss Amy is still just as taken with herself as ever and even more annoying -and the more she talks in these interviews, the worst she comes off, IMO (she was much better on the show when she was completely focused on the project at hand, JMO).

No wonder she didn't manage to 'charm' any of the four Trumpettes who interviewed her!
mickif
Also, have any of the men Assy claims to be friends with say that they like her or they keep in touch? I'm just asking because I don't know.

Interview with Amy in Salon's The Fix. You have to watch a brief commercial if you are not a subscriber to read it.
BassetHound
From the Salon article above:
Question:  Did Ereka really call [Omarosa] the "N-word"?

Answer:  No, Ereka never called her the "N-word," and there were no racial terms ever verbalized.

It’s really a ridiculous accusation. Multiple times during the competition, Omarosa came up to me and said, "I don’t know why Ereka thinks I call her a racist, because I never did." Then she got off the show and changed her story. It was a comment that was made to get a rise out of Ereka, and thus keep Omarosa’s name in the news.
murphyslaw21
TVGO: She's saying you slept with both Nick and Bill...
Amy: The allegations are false and it's unfortunate. She could be using this time [in the spotlight] to publicize how smart she is instead of bashing me. It supports the stereotype that women can't put their emotions aside and focus on business.

You know, whatever else Amy might be doing, I think that she's handling the Katrina situation really well. Katrina has done everything short of taking out a full-page ad calling Amy a slut, and Amy has just stuck to denying the allegations and returning the accusations with compliments.

Good for her.
AlmondEyes
Joy Behar has said on the show before that she thinks all the Apprentice women are a bunch of "skinny bitches".

See, I hate Joy Behar. I saw the epi when George and Carolyn were on, and she just seemed angry towards Carolyn because she's blonde, thin, and attractive. Joy comes off as such a friggin hag. At least when the comedienne Mo'nique, a heavy-set woman, talks about "skinny bitches", which she does occasionally, it's with good humor. Geez, has she been on a steady diet of hater-ade?

Amy still won't let poor Nick get a word in edge-wise, hmmm? He just doesn't realize that it's all about her.

BibiBella, ITA with you on Kristi's fake boobies. They're low and too far apart, and just don't look right. Then again, I have never seen fake boobs that look good.

Since the ousted Survivor contestants get to ask a question/make a statement at the final tribal council, I would imagine the same thing applies here, even though there's no jury situation on Apprentice.

Oh good Lord, I hope not. Can't you imagine Jessie verr-rr-ry slo-o-wly asking Bill and Kwame if they plan to have whatever company they run contribute to Save the Pigeons? I see iMissEthan's point about Apprentice being a MB production, but since the final decision is up to Trump why put us through this?
choco
This is an interesting interview with Ereka & Katrina.

In response to what happened with Amy in Atlantic City, Katrina said:

Donald Trump taught us to think big. So I did. I immediately contacted the manager of the Chrysler dealership and negociated over the phone. He reassured me that he would give us a car, not the crossfire but a PT cruiser. Amy can't claim I used sex to sell because I was on the phone. Once we arrived she felt the need to negotiate over me and closed a $300 car-rental. I certainly do not know any high-rollers that will wait around a casino to see whether they've won a $300 car rental. I was actually speaking to the manager about his wife and kids, and Amy considered that flirting.

About Amy lying in the Boardroom about her rental car idea, Katrina said:

I was not willing to compromise my integrity in the boardroom in order to win this game. She was quick to take credit for the team's success but never took blame for her mistakes. I walked out of Trump tower wearing a full coat of armor, in stilettos of course, after that boardroom scene.

She also said she just lost heart and wanted to go home:

Part of the reason I was booted because my heart was no longer in the game. I've always promised myself that once i've stopped being passionate about my profession it's time to quit....The game became more about your ability to manipulate others rather than who was best qualified for the job. I don't manipulate clients, I persuade them. I was not willing to manipulate others on national television to win this game. It simply isn't me.

And this was her reason for letting Bill negotiate the lease in the apartment rental:

Real estate is my expertise. I negotiated a complete rennovation of our apartment for $1,500. That took up a large amount of time. Bill actually asked me to negotiate the lease. Bill is a well-established business man and frankly I thought he would be able to negotiate a measly lease. Also, as a leader one must delegate in order to be effective.

Oh, and she said "cast", not "casted" throughout the interview so obviously someone pointed this out to her.

Ereka's interview was boring.
Jer2002
So, I was watching a repeat of E! News Weekend and they had a story about The Oprah Show with Assorama etc. At the end of the report the 2 anchors totally blurted out, "She's such a liar!" Hee.

The New York Daily News was wrong. Kwame did not lead the lemonade task. Troy did.

Trump Salary Doubles for New 'Apprentice' From Reuters. Also in USA Today.

Donald Trump Takes Hands-On Approach To Business From WAVE in L.A.
"I think I'm a very hands-on person," Trump said. "I believe in delegation, but I'd rather do it myself. At least this way, I can get it done right."
I wonder if he wants people like that working for him though. If yes, then Bill's a shoo in. If not? Kwame's the one. YMMV, of course.
Drummouse
What with all the news starting to come out about the "behind the scenes" stuff, I heard today that NBC is actually paying the winner's salary, and not Trump.
You gotta figure that makes a YOOOGE difference to TD as far as what he's thinking. He's got like a kajillion employees so no doubt the winner will be doing more in terms of promoting A:2 as opposed to any real coffee-making, etc. ;-)

Katrina has done everything short of taking out a full-page ad calling Amy a slut, and Amy has just stuck to denying the allegations and returning the accusations with compliments.

Word on this. Amy drives me round the bend (in a rented car! Hee!) for a lot of reasons, but I like how she's handled Katrina this way -- in large part because you just know it's pissing Katrina off even further!

"Imagine the pain of knowing a proven manipulator and liar is given elevated stature and credibility by being seen along side of a celebrity who is noted for her enormous humanity. You could see this young woman was in agony trying to navigate this impossible situation. Shame on Oprah's producers for "yielding to the demands of a self absorbed, pathological liar. Shame on Oprah for not discussing both sides of the debate.

After emailing Oprah, I emailed Ereka to lend support. She thoughtfully responded to thank me. She explained that the three fired Apprentices were all supposed to be in the audience. That was the deal Heidi and Ereka signed on for. It seems Omarosa had other ideas. The whole thing is an embarrassment."

Do you think Oprah bowed to any demands put forth by Omarosa? The above is a quote from someone on another board.
RainIsBeautiful
From the Reality TV Hall of Shame article (or induction speech, whatever it is):
The simple fact of the matter was that Omarosa didn’t want to have her dinner interrupted to deal with this potential problem. She decided it was more important to have a nice meal than to do her job.

Maybe her “concussion” was acting up again. We all know that Omarosa’s “head injury” demands nice meals.

Hee. Is the author a TWoPper? :)
bobosh
I don't know how these reality shows work, but when Omarosa headed for the couch next to Trump, it occured to me that O might have taken it upon herself to defy instructions ordering her to sit with Heidi and Ereka....not enough spotlight there. But then I noticed that more room had appeared on the couch next to Trump (it wasn't there before), which would imply that the producers had planned for her to sit up there like a star.

I must admit Assy's makeup was strikingly well done.

re: Amy -

She hurried past Elizabeth and Barbara (to the middle seat where
she sat) without EVEN GREETING THEM!

So glad Barbara called her on this! My friend and I noticed in the last apartment challenge that as soon as she was done meeting with people, she just turned and walked away, almost deliberately not looking at them. Very much a "you are no longer useful to me, therefore you do not exist anymore" attitude.

I noticed this again last week in the boardroom when she was fired. Nick stood, looked at everyone across the table and thanked them for the opportunity. Amy simply got up, glanced at Bill and Kwame, and walked out the door.

She may be smart, but girlfriend needs to learn some basic business etiquette. You tell 'er, Barbara!

Edited to remove a stray "n".

Thanks for the links goobaletta. When I mentioned to my wife she could get a basketball signed by Kwame on eBay she asked if she could buy the piece of plaster that fell on Oma Rosa.

Heh. I like the fact that The Hall of Shame is reserving a third induction for Assorama in anticipation of her antics on the finale.
BibiBella
givemeakleenex, good points about Amy's past behavior. I thought she was a bit rude when she was fired not saying "thank you" or anything...so many earlier 'firees' had done so.

As Viceroy George said in one of his interviews (linked somewhere on this thread or on George's thread), he has noted a lack of good manners among many young businesspeople these days. Looks like Amy might be one of 'em, at least based on these appearances (I mean, how lame can you be not to greet your hosts? That's one way to get an interview off to a bad start!).
