I
just linked to this in the Assorama thread, but here's a story from Zap2it on TA.
"Cantilevered coiffe" -- hee! My new favorite term for DT's do.
Is there any chance that Trump and Burnett intended Oprah to be Assorama's last chance to give even a partially honest account (or the chance to take enough rope to hang herself), and now that the show's almost over, they've got the time, inclination and most importantly the ammo to absolutely blow her out of the water?
Maybe. But when DT was on Oprah, he was so effusive about Assy being so smart, and he thought she'd be successful, etc. As image-conscious as he is, wouldn't those remarks be an embarrasment to him once viewers saw her behavior on that night's episode? And wouldn't it be an embarrassment to Oprah for DT and Burnett to use her show that way, for her to have allowed Assy a "platform" when they knew what was about to air on the show?

I think you make an excellent point, OldBabe. When the Oprah viewers were deciding who to believe (Omarosa or Ereka) Trump could have been a little balanced, bascially inviting the viewers to watch the remainder of the season and decide who they think is more credible. Because, after Omarosa's showing this most recent Thursday, I would bring an umbrella with me is she said is was sunny outside.

Like Trump, they have no idea which former colleague wins. "Who knows?" Burnett says. "We will have to see how it goes. If you look at the final few, it's a matter of who chokes."
So, will Bill's nerves get the best of him or will Omarosa's antics get the best of Kwame?

I think DT does think Omarosa is smart, and I think he seems as confused as everyone else about what her MO is. I mean she was sitting next to him on Oprah while Ereka and Heidi were sitting with the audience. She is certainly an amazing publicity beacon. Crazy does not equal dumb IMO.

The Masters of the Apprentice - Interesting Washington Post article on Carolyn and George.
More on the Oprah scandal, and a bit about Amy and Nick.
And finally,
more on Sam. My favorite quote:
According to George Ross, one of Trump's advisers, "Sam's problem is that he couldn't adapt to reality."

From that article:
"He's a tough guy," Ross said. "As far as employees are concerned, he's a great boss to work for. He doesn't tolerate stupidity. If you make a mistake, so be it.
Years ago a VP of Sales in the company I worked for told me if I wasn't making mistakes, I wasn't doing anything. Make a mistake, fess up and move on. Truer words were never spoken.
I said it before, I want to have Carolyn's class and abilities and I want to work for George. Maybe in my next life.

I remember seeing posts about the "Why the Catfights Won't Stop" issue of US Weekly, but I just got mine and I don't remember seeing this mentioned...
How to sound unprofessional in an interview:
Ereka: "The bitch Omarosa...is such a drama queen."...in response to Assy refusing to do the radio show with her: "She was afraid to go on the air with me. I told her she was full of s--t."
Katrina: "What is Amy going to say? 'Yes, I'm a whore'? I'd deny it if I slept with two people as well."..."I have no desire to see Amy again. She was threatened by me because I'm able to strike a balance between femininity and respect. But she didn't realize who she was messing with."
How to sound semi-professional in an interview:
Amy: "Katrina fumbled multiple times. Rather than trying to talk man-to-man business, she batted her eyelashes more."...in response to the "Watch out for Amy" note: "Katrina was upset and frustrated because she thought I was railroading her. But I think she's awesome. I'm not going to bash her."
These women really are an embarrassment to the gender.

This week's People magazine had a one-pager on Omarosa, more of the same about being fired from 4 jobs. It ended with a classic quote though:
Manigault-Stallworth, who claims she's inundated with new job offers, said recently, "I'm a moving target. As soon as they think they've figured Omarosa out, I've already moved on to a whole different industry."
Moved on? Or been chased out?

From the Washington Post article:
If he could, [George] Ross would have the show focus a bit more on what happens in the boardroom. "Lots of drama got shortchanged," he said, adding that the audience would get a more accurate depiction of the contestants -- and Trump -- if more time were devoted to those executive sessions.
(sigh) No wonder we love George. He knows exactly what we want.

That's awesome about fans flooding the "Oprah" website questioning WHY Heidi and Ereka (and Carolyn) had to sit out in the audience!!
I had mine written and "sent" before the first commercial!
Personally, I think that reflected poorly on Oprah. I know she goes the extra mile for black women (and that's fine!), but it was just TOO apparent and ridiculous... as well as an insult to Heidi, Ereka, and Carolyn.
OhImInsane was out of line pawing Trump like she was. I did get the impression that Oprah was less than impressed with her once it got going but she couldn't very well change the seating arrangement at that point.
I will say this... Oprah is a very intelligent lady and she could see thru OhImInsane's garbage. She was probably thinking "don't even think you're ever working for me!!".
On the other hand, Trump is all about Trump and will do anything for a viewer/dollar.
I like the way Oprah flat out said she disagreed with his theory of having to get even with people at any price.
I'm sure they'll ALL be back before too long....

I just assumed Omarosa was given the seat on stage because she's a bigger star, and Heidi&Ereka are kinda minor characters on the show. Trump seemed to be enjoying himself immensely. Omarosa is good for ratings, which means for money for him.

Exactly. The first and most numerous commercials that aired and made me want to watch the show dealt with Omarosa. Omarosa's commercials with her 'White House and PhD' slogans were aired the most. Essentially, she is the star contestant of the show. Post-firing, she has been in more publications and tv shows than any other fired contestant.

Completely disagree there. But moving on, I think Oprah handled the situation extremely well. As Choco said, I think Omarosa was on the stage because she is the bigger star of the show than Erika and Heidi. Let's face it, as much as we hate her skanky ass, this show wouldn't be nearly as fun to watch without her around. Also, I think it played into her ego to have her on stage with Trump. It makes her feel more important than she really is.
Let Assy talk for more than a minute without interruption and she fucks up her own story. Without getting Jerry Springerish, Oprah managed to make Assy stumble twice:
1. When asked what words could possibly be worse than the n-word, her come back was being called a bitch. Which Oprah basically disagreed with.
2. Assy saying that she couldn't even "use her imagination" to come up with some of the words that were used towards her during the show. Well, imagination isn't needed to repeat what someone else has said to you. All you need is a good memory.
I think it was smart of Oprah to not let Ereka continue to talk. If you watch Oprah, a lot of times she WILL cut off a celebrity in an effort to stop them from saying something that will have a negative effect on them, be it media manipulation or just undue controversy (ie when she tried to muffle Tiger's use of the Caublanasian phrase). Ereka's defense started out very solid. In fact, she'd essentially won the argument after the first 2 digs. But the more she talked, the more she began to break down. Saying that Trump and Carolyn called Assy a liar (just to have Trump deny it and Carolyn to say she said that Assy wasn't credible). Oprah cutting Ereka short was the best thing that could have happened at that point. Because really, at the end of the day, everybody still believes Ereka and Assy still comes across as a habitual liar and a straight up bitch.

Apr 10, 2004 @ 9:15 pm
Oprah was totally right on to put Omarosa on stage. As a talk show host, she has a duty to spotlight the most controversial. On last week's Apprentice, promos didn't say that six firees were coming back, they said: "two words: Oma Rosa." Oprah would've been stupid to put Omarosa on an equal footing with Ereka and Heidi. They just don't compare, fame-wise. That's just the reality: controversy sells.
In two months, we will have forgotten about Heidi and Ereka -- in fact, many people have forgotten that Ereka's name has two E's -- while the memory of Omarosa will stick with us for many years to come.

Today's news stories so far....
From Cindy Adams in today's NY Post:
Breathes there a program host from Oprah to Joe Franklin who hasn't invited that fired "Apprentice" dame with the three names - Ponderosa Smiggenthault Hocksworth or whatever her name is - to come on their air?
It's been ages since I laughed aloud at an Adams' quip, but this one got me.

Carolyn and some Trump lawyer showed up at
Kwame's viewing party on Thursday. Also, Carolyn "will guest on MSNBC's

'THE APPRENTICE' LOSERS FIRED UP ABOUT UNDERWEAR ***
'Hey, Buddy, You're Fired!' Joe Queenan's column from the NY Times. Begins with Trump and segues into fantasy firings. Fairly amusing - especially at the end if you're a Democrat.

Fine Line of Dressing With a Job in Mind TA's women and their attire are mentioned in the 4th paragraph. This is one of the better articles on dressing for interviews I've seen.

Even though it's a
book review for Robert B. Parker's latest Spenser novel, the reviewer manages to get in a dig at the Trumpster in the last paragraph.

OK, I'll acknowledge that The Apprentice is just entertainment and perhaps we shouldn't take it so seriously. It's certainly enhancing the demand for and the wealth of Donald Trump. In fact, it's working so well for him that there may be a sequel for "The Donald" in the future. With that hair and all, he could become the next subject for Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
And from across the pond --
Trump towers over TV ratings as shares tumble. From the Guardian UK site. Discusses the show and expected viewer numbers for the finale as well as TD's business worth and acumen.

This show is how not to do it: Why I won't watch 'The Apprentice'. Commentary written by the president of Western International University:The objective is not to build a business but to knock out the other competitors for the position. Whoever scores the most points with the boss wins. Obviously, in a limited season, there is no time to demonstrate the skills required to build a solid organization and the ability to work with and manage people. Rather, the emphasis is on acquiring personal power. This seems to mimic the infamous strategies of such exemplary executives as those who ran companies such as Enron, Tyco, WorldCom, Adelphia and others of the dot-com era.
The author should start watching the show before commenting b/c the above quote is not true. People were fired for not being good team leaders or players. There was quite an emphasis on the team aspect of business(not BFF) and how well the player would fit into Trump's team. You won or loss depending upon how well your team worked together.
Those that did bring booby-shaking as a way to win were shown to look foolish. The show did not reward sex as a weapon to win.
If one did not watch the show and only followed it through the media his point is valid. The show itself did not venture into personal areas unelss it was brought up in the boardroom or specifically team related. The sex lives, N word, and snarky personal comments are the ex-Apprentices taking pot shots at each other and have nothing to do with the show itself. And all of that comes from basically O., Kat, and Erika.
An article in my local paper (Newsday) says that Omarosa may be a guest judge on American Idol. Omarosa is quoted as saying Simon finds her "deliciously evil." The byline on the article is from the Washinton Post.
Evil as in "Omarosa is going to call forth the Anti-Christ" evil.

Even if she's not The Apprentice, Omarosa is a great multitasker. Between directing Miss Guyana's workout routine (45 minutes on the treadmill--the girl must burn calories!), a call from fellow cast member and Chicago-native Bill Rancic (they are just soooo close), a call from CNN (she's going to be on this week!) and an interruption from a maid ("I have more clothes than a department store--I feel bad for her!"), she analyzes the experience that changed her life.
I keep hearing how close Assy and Bill are. I don't understand.... I do remember Assy telling Bill that if Kwame took her to the BR she would "eat my brutha up..." Maybe BF Bill was her confidante?
This was also interesting...
She thinks that--other than herself--Sam Solovey or Troy McClain deserved to win the competition. Or perhaps Tammy Lee.
I can understand Troy. And I know that Sammy is supposed to be one of Assy's best friends from the show. But Tammy Lee? I wonder why she said that...

"I used to talk to Heidi a lot when we were first watching on TV, but it's hard for both of us to watch the horrible things she said to me," she said, "and for her to see me talking about her."

But Omarosa--fired by The Donald last week--refuses to complain about the show's editing.
I'm not in the US, but from what I've heard on these boards, that's all she's been doing during her media tour.
Ugh! This is another gem:
And her possible book deals include a survival guide to corporate America for women and the story of her own journey "from the projects to the White House to Trump Tower."

This is an interesting article from
USA Today. They asked their business panel who of the 16 they would hire before last week's episode. Bill got 5 votes, Kwame 4, Troy 2, Amy 1. There was also an interesting quote about Troy:
Buckingham, a regular viewer of The Apprentice, describes the Trump culture as on the edge. "On the edge of bankruptcy, on the edge of huge successes, on the edge of ethics," he says. Therefore Trump may have made a crucial mistake last week when he fired Troy because Troy was a "live wire." But Buckingham says a live wire would likely thrive in the Trump organization while a down-to-earth talent like Kwame would thrive at many companies, but he might wonder "What the heck am I doing here?" with Trump.
