I couldn't believe Joy's comments to Carolyn. Joy asked about Carolyn's wardrobe and proceeded to talk over finally saying DT wouldn't care if she showed up in a swimsuit to the boardroom. Yuck, yuck, yuck I have only watched the View one other time (Katerina). I would not watch any show Joy is on. She totally offended Carolyn. Loved the part where Carolyn physically moves closer to George on the couch, away from Joy. Seemed like Carolyn couldn't stand the comments made by Joy. Oops, forgot, Troy (and how could I forget Troy). He was adorable on the show!

Behar is an ass.

There was a camera shot of joy somewhere near the end of that interview....that sort of said with a smirk..yeah I know I am givin' it to her and am lovin' every minute of it.
luminaire
I just caught the last few minutes of The View while I was on break. Troy is such a class act. He looked really nice in that shirt. He was definitely the "break-out star" from The Apprentice. Did they interview him as well? I only saw the end when Star asked him about his lack of formal education. He was so good-natured about it. I'm glad he'll be back this week. Troy and Omarosa combined - the ratings will skyrocket.

Joy Behar is a very rude woman. She also has an annoying habit of talking over people. I like seeing Carolyn more relaxed. She's a young woman. She always looks so formal and professional at work, but she can also be casual in her leisure time. I think that's what the other women on the show missed. It's fine and all if they want to look skanky after office hours, but when they're at work, they should dress apppropriately.
TraceyBee
George always seems to show up in suits, Carolyn in more Casual Corner-type wear. Why is that?
Probably because George is an attorney, and Carolyn manages a couple of Trump's golf courses. Carolyn's day-to-day working attire is probably more casual than George's, if she spends her time around the golf courses. Also, George has probably been wearing suits nearly every day for so many years, that's what he's comfortable in when he's going to be seen by a lot of people.

Joy Behar needs to shut up, now.
viviane
goobaletta, thanks for posting the links to the Weber State group and website -- I was actually just coming to make sure the TWoP community hadn't missed them. I should know better than to even think that the Eagle-Eyed Forum Posters could miss anything.

"Weber State University Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) tackles the ethical and management issues raised in NBC's 'The Apprentice.' "

I can't decide if that is entirely grammatical, but hey, they're business majors, right? If you look at it from just the acronym POV and see it as a single unit, the unit being the club, then the verb 'tackles' is correct. BUT since they are using 'students' in the sentence and not the acronym (well, except in parentheses) technically then shouldn't the verb form be 'tackle' so it agrees with the noun?

On the grammar here, I think there's an implied "club" or "group" in here -- "WSU's [student group/club] Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)...." Then the singular makes sense, as it would with the acronym. Or maybe they're just channeling some British English, where sports teams are referred to in the singular. But in American English there's room for some ambiguity, I think.

So while it sounds a bit odd, I would rule the sentence to be grammatically correct. Perhaps deserving of a rewrite to clear things up and improve the grace of the sentence, but still technically correct.

I think I remember in one of the articles it mentioned Carolyn's normal wardrobe runs to slacks and sweaters.

I just returned from a production meeting for a reality dating show. I own a singles related company, so they've hired me as some sort of "creative consultant" to assist with casting of the show and it's principles. The show revolves around 2 female "coaches" guiding their "team" of men and helping them pick up women.

Two of the women that they said were being considered to be the coaches?

Ereka and Katrina. Seems Kat is a good friend of the producer/director

I nearly fell out of my chair. They saw my reaction asked why and I told them about Kat's post show interviews blabbing on and on about Amy's alleged sex life. I explained that I felt neither of these women have a positive media-related repuatation and could damage the credibility of the show. As we spoke, one of the producers (who worked with Ereka on a Spike TV wrestling show) said Ereka was "very sweet" but made it sound like she was Trump's "right hand man" and went on and on about how much she loved working with "Donald" and how great "Donald" was.

Let's just say those two were crossed off the list.
Mama Tiger
Good work, Tashanir!

That does sound about like the level Erekatrina will be stooping to, however. Celebrity Boxing, anyone?
MaryWebGirl
Aww, TWoPers changing the world for the better! Brava Tashanir!
goobaletta
So that explains why Katty said in some interview either mentioned in here or in her thread that she'd done matchmaking. She's been practicing her spiel for the dating show.

I bow to your greatness, Tashanir! If I knew where to send it I'd bake you a cake.

Omarosa, Sam, and Heidi are on DENNIS MILLER LIVE now.

Heidi thinks Nick should win. Omarosa and Sam think Bill will win.

Omarosa and Heidi find Amy to be overrated and lucky. They do want to see a woman in the finals, though.

Omarosa is writing a book that will incluse Ereka's racist remarks to O.

Omarosa and Heidi said that they made up 5 minutes after the last argument, but the editors did not show it.

Heidi finds Trump to be sexy. Omarosa was teasing her about it.
Kromm
Omarosa and Heidi said that they made up 5 minutes after the last argument, but the editors did not show it.

I'm sure it was one of those shallow "we're going to be on the same publicity tour" make-up scenes. With fake air-kisses and all.
Omarosa is writing a book that will incluse Ereka's racist remarks to O.

Proposed Title: "Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth: A Strong Black Woman Facing A Life of Oppression" (or "What that mean racist bitch said to me").
Omarosa and Heidi find Amy to be overrated and lucky

Seems a bit different from Heidi's onscreen reactions to Amy. Is she playing to the camera here a bit or has she just been holding back? Then again, if Heidi thinks Nick should win that REALLY should make us question her evaluation skills. Bill is a mean little snake, but Nick is just a... little piece of nothing.
Gringa
Dennis Miller called Assorama on how devastating her accusations could be to Ereka's future. He also specifically asked whether Ereka used a racial slur in front of Burnett and Trump. Assorama just deflected it. And then he observed that as adamant as Assorama is about the incident, he thinks Ereka truly believes it didn't happen. And, again, she deflected it. So, she still has nothing rational to say about the circumstances of the Ereka incident. Sam sat there smiling at Dennis Miller as they went back and forth. Heh.
archer1267
I guess she's holding back on the "evidence" until she is on Oprah. That she's even including this alleged incident in her "book" (which will be vanity published, I'm betting) is disgusting. Carolyn and Trump have pretty much said that she has no credibility. Why does she think anyone would believe her?

Omarosa, you can't be a victim all your life. Grow up and take some responsibility for yourself. Now.

Oh, and what is it about Nick that has secured Katrina's and Heidi's loyalty? Is he giving them a deal on a Canon CLC3200 or something?
kattam6175
Heidi's been bashing Assy in every one of her interviews. She calls her a boldfaced liar every chance she gets. And, now, we're supposed to believe they kissed and made-up months ago?

I'm really disappointed that Heidi - Miss Tell It Like It Is - is pretending to be friends with Assy for publicity's sake.
DMW_SFU
archer1267, you don't think someone will publish Omarosa's book? I think she'll probably get a pretty sweet deal, actually, with how popular the show (and particular her character) is. I know people don't like her, but it seems like many people would be interested in reading the book.

But I seriously know very little about publishing. So, I might even be wrong about what "vanity publishing" is (it's when someone publishes their own book, right?).

Vanity Publishing is when someone pays a publisher to publish their book. Typically, the publisher deals only in vanity publishing and runs small quantities. The trade-off is not just the pay-to-print aspect. There is no publicity, representation, or, most importantly, distribution from most of these small presses.

It's really hard to get your book on the shelves on Barnes & Noble if it's self-published... they deal with distributers that represent major publishing houses. Book reviewers won't usually touch your book if it looks remotely like a vanity product.

I caught Dennis Miller too. I was surprised to see how buddy-buddy all three of them looked.

Heidi said Nick was her favorite because he's a "salesman" and a "hustler" just like her. She also said Amy has a crush on Nick and that Nick is playing Amy. God, she sounded just like Katty there. Both she and Assy agreed that Amy got lucky with the editing.

Sammy likes Bill the best because he's an "entrepreneur" just like him, and he also reminds Sammy of his old business partner.

Assy likes Bill too. She thinks he's smart, political and they're also friends. Though she said it would be nice if Amy won too since she's a woman.

Heidi thought DT was very sexy, especially the way he sat down and leaned over the table at them. She also thinks Mark Burnett is very sexy. Sammy said Heidi is only attracted to men over 40.

Assy is writing her tell-all book about life behind the scenes of The Apprentice. Her publishers advised her not to speak about the n-word thing so she can save it for her book.
Kromm

Chuckle.
Her publishers advised her not to speak about the n-word thing so she can save it for her book.

Riiiiight. More likely her LAWYERS told her to stop talking about it before Ereka tried to sue her for defamation of character, slander and if she prints it... libel.
yeahwhatever
she said it would be nice if Amy won too since she's a woman.

Gah. If she's going to be superficial about it, why wouldn't it be nice if Kwame won because he's a brother? I hate "it would be nice for her to win since she's a woman." Way to devalue everything she does. Maybe it would be nice for Amy to win because she's intelligent? Because, although she flirts up a storm with the guys, she seems to deal professionally with clients? Because she's had some great ideas? Because she doesn't descend into catfighting? Of course, if she won for any of those reasons then they'd look bad by comparison. So it's got to come down to the only thing they have in common. Bah. A pox on both their houses.

Today's articles. Kind of odd this morning.

TALE OF THE TAPE: STEINBRENNER VS. TRUMP. "Humor" piece comparing TD to his good friend George. No. Not our George. The lecherous one who was wearing the bling that so captivated Tammy.

''Apprentice'' does its job: sucking in its viewers.

The 500-word briefing's made for `Apprentice'. Free registration required. Strange piece. Not overly funny yet not exactly unfunny. Interestingly, even though it's in a Chicago publication, there is nary a mention of Bill.
M. Darcy
I don't know if I believe that Assy is publishing a book about her experiences on the show. I'm pretty sure that contestants on other reality shows are not allowed to write about their experiences. For example, I believe that it is part of the contracts that the racers sign that they won't write about being on the Amazing Race. When the Guidos wrote their book, TAR wasn't mentioned. Of course, the NBC contract could be different from the CBS one. Or I misunderstood what the racers have been saying.

Tashanir you just made my morning!! If there is a hell, it would most certainly involve an Erekatrina dating show.....

Oh great, so if Amy doesn't win, not only will Assorama be screaming racism, she'll extend her claims to gender bias. She's never going to go away, is she?
DrinksBreadIce

I think Rudy from the first Survivor wrote a pamphlet-sized "book," but I'm not sure whether it was an account of the show or just an autobiography.

My hypothesis is that Omarosa's entire persona is an act, and whatever she's planning to write about the show IS her PhD dissertation in Communications.

Re:SNL
I wonder if Omarosa was actually watching this episode....

I foundit hysterical when they brought up the "injury" on Dennis Miller and she got soo excited, practically squealing, about how it was on SNL. I guess she got what she wants.. attention.
Tashanir
So...what's the deal with these Bill/Katrina romance rumors that Wronda from E!Online has been spreadin? Seems Bill has allegedly hooked up with two apprentices. One was Amy the other was "one of the women with a Russian sounding name."

Since Katrina was engaged, I doubt it was her. Plus, since so many people seem to confuse The Heathers, I'd suspect that it was Ereka. I can remember her fondly nuzzling his neck on the episode that they were all out at the bar (when she was desperate for Bill's alliance.)

Plus, I doubt Katrina would be stupid enough to go on national television and blab about Amy's sex life when she had her own dirty little secret. A secret, that if revealed, could hurt her fiance and engagement.

So I'm guessing Ereka.
skagirl77

Really? Could totally see her doing it - and turning it into, "I stole Bill right from under her!" type catfight.

However, Wanda seems to often be a day late & 3 rumors short of a lot of things. I give all of her ramblings a few days to clarify themselves.

I could watch that clip over and over and never get tired of it. I laughed as hard the 2nd (and 3rd and 4th) times as I did the 1st. I'm making the yooge piece of plaster shot my screensaver.

Could this be true?!

Apprentice runner-up to have opportunity at KFC

There are worse things than getting $25,000 for one week's work (even if you smell like a fryolater at the end of each day).
skagirl77
Well, it wasn't posted on April Fool's Day...and if it's a KFC/Taco Bell Combo...mmmm...fried goodness. Actually, doesn't shock me that some major corporation is trying to get in on the action. And I just saw it made Yahoo! news & MarketWire.
goobaletta
Somehow the prospect of a year's supply of KFC doesn't do a whole lot for me. Now if the person who got that contributed the food to a homeless shelter or something, then it wouldn't be so bad. And why does it amuse me so to imagine Amy or Bill taking that offer?
lynettefl
Kristin was on E! News Daily tonight and stated that Bill hooked up with Amy and Katrina. Ha.

Could Katrina sue?

'The Apprentice' Soars Among TV Viewers

From the article:

"Mark Burnett and company are really the masters of the art form," agrees Thompson (Robert Thompson, head of the Center for the Study of Popular Television at Syracuse University). Besides coming up with a workplace concept instantly familiar to viewers, "The Apprentice" is another well-cast Burnett show.

"When you're asking people to write their own dialogue, be their own acting coaches, casting is everything," said Thompson. "Omarosa didn't happen accidentally." (italics mine)

That's the imperious Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, whose scheming alienated fellow contestants and entertained viewers. Her martyrdom after a brush with falling plaster was an instant reality TV classic. She makes a return appearance on Thursday's show.
Neko
Sammy said Heidi is only attracted to men over 40.

C'mon, 'fess up. Didn't he really say that Heidi is only attracted to [rich and famous] men over 40? The words in brackets being, of course, silent yet understood?

I can totally see Heidi imagining herself as some kind of trophy wife for a rich and famous guy. And, in fairness, she probably could. If the guy's 80 years old and deaf (or, possibly, thinks it's cute to see a "sweet young thing" drop the f-bomb every third word; it's a sign that she's "feisty").

It's been a wonderful antidote to the train wreck that is Survivor All-Stars, IMO...the same people playing the same challenges with the same group dynamics. Watching The Apprentice just accentuates how stale and been-there, done-that Survivor's become.

The fried chicken job would have been a good fit for Troy. There is a group of franchise owners who form a team that work with corporate and, at least when i worked for their NY ad agency, were a bunch of guys that acted a lot like Troy in rube mode.

Omarosa is writing a book that will incluse Ereka's racist remarks to O.

What?! I think she better look up relevant libel laws before she does so. This woman really is psycho.
Tashanir
How interesting...if Ereka claims that she couldn't have said anything to Omarosa because they are "filmed and mic'd 24/7" then either:

a) her BFF's own words could do her in, since Katrina went on and on in press how Amy and Nick hooked up when the camera crews were off or taking a break.

b) Ereka ends up proving that Katrina lied about the Amy/Nick tryst while filming.

Oh no...the un-doing of The Heathers.

Just read the article about the job offer from KFC (they want to use the "first runner up" to launch their new product line). All I could think of was: Trump's House of Wings! Can you see Nick (or Amy or Kwame or Bill) dressed in the yellow suit, dancing with the chickens? Yeah, I knew you could!

Does anyone else hear the Star Wars Imperial March in their heads when Assy is described that way.

Bill would have too sour a look on his face.
All I could think of was: Trump's House of Wings!

They could just pay Trump a Yoooge amount of money and get him to repeat the yellow suit and white man dancing.

An article about the woman of The Apprentice in the "WomanNews" section of today's Chicago Tribune:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/features/wom...rewomannews-hed

It's more of the same "we have brains, they just didn't show us using them" blather from Ereka, Katrina and Heidi.

The article calls Carolyn the show's "hidden jewel", and quote her pointing out that if Trump were a woman that the female contestants might not have rushed to pull out the micro-minis and spikes.

Nick and Amy on Eonline

Apparently Kristin has it on good authority (Heidi?) that Amy and Nick were having sex on the show, at least a few times. It was all during the show, though, and as soon as filming wrapped, they quit. Could explain WHY there is so much talk about the boyfriend/girlfriend thing; maybe the people were alluding to sex, but didn't want to be so crass?

Also, if Katrina had hooked up with Bill, and then Amy took him, that would definitely explain why Katrina hates Amy so much (but then, I doubt Katrian really needs an excuse to hate any woman).
