Watching a bit of this last night (I still love the sheriff raising his hand at the end), I wondered: Was there a comic episode this season, as there usually is in Trek? There was an overall and smaller arcs a serious tone, and so on, so I think they didn't really do one. Certainly, this episode was a bit light, and there were light touches in "Doctor's Orders," "Carpenter Street," "Extinction," and "Hatchery." But all of these were mostly serious.

I think I must have been a little giddy last night because I was laughing through a good deal of this episode (particularly the "Trip, you have to kick the horse to make it go" part) and even parts of Similitude. I think some of it may have to do with seeing it again after you've already read the recap.

I'd say no but on the other hand, ENT has so far not had any real comic episodes. I think that Unexpected is what comes closest.

"Two Days and Two Nights" was pretty damn funny with Trip and Reed getting mugged by aliens. In fact, "Acquisition" was also a comic episode, "Singularity" had those leanings as well.
