I wonder if we'll ever get a scene where Jack tells Sydney he killed Simon. I hope it's not one of those things where we just have to assume he told her. It's a terrible waste not to mention stupid to introduce Simon and then NEVER address his character again.
Although I guess he really didn't know much about Julia beyond her level of flexibility, if you know what I mean. Heh.

You posted a picture of yourself with Justin (and, yes, I am extremely jealous.)
If you want to re-familiarize yourself with the site rules (some have changed in the past few months), just check out the

Just a fond remembrance of Simon...when Jack tells him he wants him to break into some shit or another, Simon says: "Sexy." You've gotta love a man who enjoys his work.

Yes, please feel free to post a link, brittyn. I'm all for new pictures of Justin. (By the way, thank you for the e-mail a couple months back. I tried to e-mail you, but I got an error message back from the Hotmail people. No idea why that would happen, as I'm computer illiterate.)
Mnemo, I love when he says that! "Sexy." Hee. Hee hee. I totally stole it for my own personal use, too.
Damn. I miss Simon. Curse you, JJ. Hey, do you think if we bitch and complain about it enough, JJ'll give us a treat? A la flashback, perhaps? Or, maybe, just maybe, it'll turn out that Simon had his own personal stash of Rambaldi Life juice, and he's not really dead after all? Or... *her babbling fades into the distance as she paddles her way up De Nile*

Simon got mentioned! When Kendall started talking about Simon Walker, I got really excited and thought they were going to show a little flashback of the two meeting and working together. That would have kicked all kinds of ass. Instead, we got a lame sidwalk strutting montage. Bring on the Soy-moan!!

JJ is an evil bastard for mentioning our dear Simon and not showing him in a flashback. C'mon! Just a minute of yummy Simon goodness is all I'm asking for!
Okay, so, Sydney was Sydney the whole time? Then what the hell was she doing sleeping with him? I mean, I understand the appeal (oh, how I do), but she met Simon in Algeria before she knew that Vaughn had moved on, right? I just want to know what her motivations were. Also, that's another opportunity for a Simon flashback, eh? Eh?
*sigh* I know. I'm sad.

Jan 12, 2004 @ 1:55 pm
Sydney escaped the Covenant, went to Kendall, found out Vaughn had moved on and then she went back to the Covenant and got the assignment to go see Simon. So she knew Vaughn had moved on before she went to Algeria.

I have my doubts that Syd and Simon did the nasty. She probably teased the hell out of him, but never let him complete the transaction. Simon's words to Spy!Daddy were probably intended to do what they did: bug the living hell out of Jack so he would get pissed and shoot Simon.
But I sincerely wished they could have given us a nice flashback, preferably involving LeatherPants!Simon. *Sigh*
Mnemosyne
Jan 12, 2004 @ 7:19 pm
I totally believe they slept together. You could tell when they first met up again that they were "close." The wonderful kiss? Simon's hand on her ass? And especially when they were both on the bed those times - Syd was acting, but she was responding to his cues.
I don't find it hard to believe; Simon is very charming and sexy, and he probably wanted what "Julia" did; fun, some affection, a release, but no real emotional attachment. She would have desperately needed to be close to someone, to get some comfort, at that point in her life. More power to her.
I'm pissed too we didn't even get to see Simon strut on by. Dammit. And now that we know she was really Sydney, well crap, we missed out on a whole relationship there. So frustrating! Also that Simon said things about Julia taking wild risks and being so dangerous - damn, I wanna know more! And preferably see some of it. *sigh* Yummy Simon.

What Simon said to Jack in reference to Syd's sexual capabilities I'm sure was meant to piss him off, but I think they were probably more of an exageration then a lie, if anything. I really do think that she must have slept with him for the same reasons Mnemo mentioned.
Plus, she would have to be insane not to. That man is nine kinds of sexy!
Thanks Aliasscape. I haven't had a chance to re-watch yet, so I couldn't remember what order things had happened in. That still does not lessen my desire to get some explanation on Syd's relationship with Simon. Was she just using him for comfort sex as a means to get over Vaughn? Or was it something more? And if it turns out that she did feel something for him, what will she think about Jack having killed him (I'm assuming she knows, though we've never seen him tell her)? There's a mighty interesting storyline here, and I'll be mighty pissed if JJ doesn't touch on it. Which, of course, means he probably won't. JJ seems hell bent on making me hate him.

here's the picture of me with Justin last May, I just wish he was without that huge jacket ;) But hey, my arm was around him, and he was squeezing me as tight as ever (may not look like it, but trust me, it was! hehe). Actually, if that site isn't responding, try

I really do not understand why they gave Melissa George a contract and season long character, but not Justin??? His character was fun, sexy, and he can act. Not to mention, I think that would've made a far more compelling triangle if JJ wanted it so desperately. And I agree that I'd love to see flashbacks of Sydney as "Julia" with Simon. I'm pissed that all they gave us was that damn montage. I want to see Sydney have to be bad!

You're going to love what he said to me, Mnemosyne! As we were starting to pose, and he put his arm around me and started pulling me closer to him (I wasn't ORIGINALLY going to pose like that with him)... he said into my ear, "Brittyn, let me in." How great is that??? It still makes me laugh to imagine him actually saying that!! I'd let him do more than that, believe me. hehe We also didn't pose once, but twice, because my friend thought the lighting was bad that first time. So we kinda shuffled over to a better spot with our arms still around eachother, somehow he ended up on the other side of me though. And you can't see it that well in the picture, but his head was up against mine. Aww. He was truly squeezing me really tightly, I was worried that the picture would turn out looking funny. It was so windy and cold out (as you can probably tell by my stupid hair), and it had started to rain. Luckily I was able to meet him then when it was still somewhat bearable outside!

I agree AudyGal0516, his character should've lasted longer. But I'm also glad I don't have to try to follow him on that show, it gets too stressful for me keeping up my website (http://www.justintheroux.net) when he's doing so much like that :) He likes film a lot more than TV anyway!

Apparently so, because dayum! As my room mate said while watching

And, yes, I agree- that man is sex on a stick! I'm veerrry thankful that Alias introduced me to the wonder that is JT, because I'd never seen any of his work before.
The only thing I'm pissed about is that Soymoan's death may never be mentioned... doesn't anybody notice his absence? It just seems like JJ had this really great idea to start with, but then he dropped the whole storyline for some reason. I want, nay, need my Soymoan!!

The reason JT was sitting next to Mary Louise Parker, according to Kristin latest column is that JT is Mary Louise's man, this after Billy Crudup(sp) left her when she was 8 months pregnant.
Most "You Go, Girl" Moment: Mary-Louise Parker (who was dumped by Billy Crudup in her eighth month of pregnancy, poor thing) was simply glowing with her Globe in one hand (for Angels in America) and her new man in the other--Justin Theroux, the sexy actor most recently seen on Alias and Six Feet Under. Love it.

OK, Simon was on last night in the UK - utterly brilliant. Loved him even more for sounding Australian for 3 seconds when he sent Sydulia off to steal the diamond necklace (and yes, I agree, where the hell did she put it whilst diving into the pool?).
The only downside is not being able to see the next ep as I will be in New York when it's on.

That's why I still lament the killing off of Simon. I think Simon had the potential to become another Sark, ie a character who has so much impact and elicits the intrigue of the audience, and killing him off was a big mistake. Sure, JT has his own busy schedule as an actor as well, but that doesn't mean he can't return when his schedule permits, and continue that stint. It really is a pity, especially since right now, so much air time is being given to characters who
aren't characters at all, and are just plot devices.

I too bow before JT, his character has been dead since the beginning of the season, yet we still feel compelled to post about him. Come back from the dead, Simon! All the great scenes we could have had, Simon and Syd, Simon and Jack, Simon and Sark...Crap, I am getting cranky thinking about it.

I was just thinking about the way Syd was trying to get info out of Simon(about who she was during the lost years). In her eyes, Simon seemed to be the only one who really knew what she had done and what she was like. Even though their relationship seemed purely sexual, he appeared to have been the closest person to her over the 2 years.
Now, having read the recaps and everyone's comments on recent episodes, even though she had evasive surgery and had spoken to Kendall, it seemed that Simon would have had answers to most of her questions. It's a shame that they've *apparently* killed him off (I have a visa for Egypt) because the dynamics of that relationship could have been played out and it would have added a bit more to the "pentagonal" of relationships being shown at the moment.

Simon, IMO, was the best thing to come out of this entire season. In two episodes, he managed to grab my attention, and he still has it, months after his 'death' (lovely weather here in Egypt, wouldn't you say, ozgal?) I would give my metaphorical left arm to have more of Simon on the show, in any capacity, be it miraculous resurrection (which I prefer), or a flashback to the Julia years.
I think it's sad that the writers concocted this fantastic character that captivated so many of their audience, and I think they killed him off before they realized what potential they had in their hands. Simon could have been the new Sark, in that he was a character created with the intention of being done away with pretty quickly, but was so fascinating and well-liked by the audience, that he could have been kept around, and maybe developed into a key player later on in the show.
Although, with Alias having the track record that it does, I refuse to believe that Simon is really dead. I just keep waiting for him to pop back up again, taking a swig from a hip flask full of Rambaldi Life Juice.

Well, I managed to see "Unveiled" in New York, but I was eager to come back to the UK just so I could watch a taped copy of "Repercussions" and get my Simon fix - part deux.
I know it's been said before, but the bridge scene with Jack: "Sexy".
What I couldn't really understand (motivation-wise) was that Jack was stressing to Syd the importance of keeping in contact with Simon because he was, at that time, the closest link she had to her 2 years ... and then he shoots him! I know Simon ending up baiting Jack about Sydulia's sexual prowess when he found out who he really was, but surely to gawd Jack could have restrained himself in order to help his daughter? No? Don't get me wrong, I love him, but he took away one of our play toys.

Killing Simon was a HUUUUGE mistake that keeps getting bigger the more I look at Season 3. They had the potential for the most fascinating and best recurring character this side of Anna Espinosa and just fucking blew it. Thank the sweet heavens I at least got to see him in SFU, because now I jones like a junkie for him.
