I want to know all the episodes that have featured a Chlark kiss.

Feb 19, 2006 @ 5:23 am
Off the top of my head...
Hug (Kyle induced)
Kinetic (if we're including pecks on the forehead)
Tempest (peck on the cheek this time + one infamous almost-kiss)
Rush (whoa, mama! complete make-out scene :P)
Magnetic (Chloe induced - covering up their asses)
Devoted (Kryp!Chloe and her seductive ways + one very sad peck on cheek)
Transference (aaaaalmost-kiss, not even Clark, but whoa! top on the hotness level)
Also, I guess you could include 'Bound' if you're including the almost-kisses, cuz their faces are inches apart in that elevator scene. If it wasn't for that lady with her kids...*sigh*
That's all I can think of at the mo...can anyone think of any more?

Simply, I think a two shot has two actors in the same frame. On the commentary to "Rosetta", TW points out a two-shot of himself and JS notes that SV shoots very few of these.
Another wonderful two-shot (in "Metamorphosis") has Clark and Lex side by side over Lex's Trojan War table. There's fewer two shots that feature Clark with Chloe or Lana (perhaps because of the height difference?) but he's been in a few with Lois.

Just a little question...what the hell is Chlois? I'm not new to SV...but I am new to this part of the forums.

It's a theory that Chloe would somehow become the character of Lois Lane as the went on. Because Chloe fans believe she embodies that traits of a Lois Lane perhaps more than the Lois Lane character on the show, it spawned a plethora of ideas about how Chloe might somehow replace her. There's a Chlois theories thread under the Clark and the Superfriends area.

I have a maybe stupid question:
why do you guys spoiler the fact that Lana's parents were pancaked when we saw it happen in the pilot?
wrighty555
Mar 11, 2006 @ 4:43 pm
It's just a running joke, since she used to talk about them so much. So anytime anybody talks about Lana's pancaked parents we spoiler tag it. The joke just never gets old.

It won't be against the rules to post comments on recaps in the episode threads.
I unlocked the shipper thread. But I'll be watching it closely to make sure it doesn't go all nuts again.

Question: Would anyone be up for reviving the "Smallville Survival Game" thread? I thought we could make a continuous game for each season starting with S5 episodes and work our way back to S1. So, is it a go? :)

What does "Evil is a light switch" mean?
jediknight
Mar 17, 2006 @ 10:11 pm
It means that someone has been made evil without a journey. The writers just one day said, he's evil. We don't get to see the evil tendencies, he's just made evil. There's no build up, it's just decided one day.
Durq
Mar 17, 2006 @ 10:40 pm
Didn't one of the producers use it in an interview with Omar? Saying Lex wouldn't suddenly turn evil, like the flick of a light switch?
ratman
Mar 17, 2006 @ 11:02 pm
What does "Evil is a light switch" mean?
I believe it's a reference to the episode
Ryan, in which Lex states that the road to darkness is a journey, not a lightswitch. Unfortunately, this only holds true in the comic books in the show, and not in the show itself.

Just out of curiosity, what is the approximate proportion of men to women in these boards? 'Cuz from what I've read so far, a majority of the people here seem to be women (I could totally be wrong; forgive me if I am). Is it just on the Smallville boards, or is the proportion uneven on all the TWoP boards?
Nutty Goodness
Mar 22, 2006 @ 11:23 am
I don't know if there's any way to know for sure, but I read a thesis paper on TWOP a while ago and the writer did a poll of the TWOPers and she concluded that the participant base is overwhelmingly female. It was something like 80% female, I think. I can't remember the exact numbers. Can anyone else contribute?
Also, I think it has to vary greatly by show. Despite the comic book basis, I think Smallville appeals more to women. A show like Battlestar Galactica might have a greater proportion of men. But overall, TWOP seems to be more popular with the ladies.

Yes there are times when I feel like I'm standing in an ocean of estrogen. ;) This site is overwelmingly ladies. Which is just fine by me. Honestly I think if it wasn't, the Clex wouldn't be quite as popular as it is. I'm not talking about the Hoyay, I'm talking about Clex fanfic.

Hello, I'm new to this forum but not to the show. I've seen Seasons 1-3, and am up to date with Season 5. I've seen about 1/2 of the episodes of Season 4 (anything to do with with Isabel made/makes me switch channels).
My Question: As stated I've seen most of the episodes but cannot place a scene in the credits. Lex hits Clark with a sword, and the sword shatters. Can anyone tell me what episode this is from? I just don't remember this at all.
PepSinger
Apr 1, 2006 @ 3:13 pm
Boomerbot, it's from the episode, Slumber. It happened during Clark's 36 hour dream sequence. They use it in the credits to show that "Lex is now dah Ebol!!!!"

Quick question for you Boss. How would you feel about a birthday thread tomorrow? You can close it as soon as the day is over(since I know you guys did away with the mod threads). This way you can get all of our birthday wishes without having to respond in every thread. Plus you can also say "Look suckers my people love me so much they wanted a special birthday thread. So suck it. Where's my raise?" LOL. Just a thought.

Heh, as nice as that would be, I think it would mean you'd see them on every board for every mod and then we'd fall back into chaos. You can post here (I won't mind) or e-mail if you like. I do appreciate the sentiment. Turning 31, it turns out, isn't as fun as turning, say, 25 or 30.

Happy Birthday,
Omar! To commemorate your 31st, here's a favourite bit from the first of your recaps I ever read ("Perry") Thus began my SV and
Omar addiction:
Lex is leaning back in a chair with his eyes closed, listening to the sounds of the ocean, probably played on one of those super-expensive little Bose systems. As an audio wave crashes, a hand reaches for Lex, and Lex grabs the hand. It's Lana, and she's feeling saaaaad. Awwww. Poor widdle Wana. It makes me want to cwyyyy. All right, sorry, that's annoying. But not as annoying as Pinky Whinesalot over here. Lex looks surprised to see Lana, which is understandable given that she didn't knock or announce herself or have security call ahead. Lana deserves any red marks on her wrist she gets. Lana says she's interrupting. Lex gets up to turn off the ocean and says that while he hated the sound on the island, now it's the only thing that relaxes him. Oh, it's not a Bose system. But it is a pretty CD player. Lana says that Lex must think about what happened every day. It would be funny if Lex made up a dramatic story about how a coconut fell from a tree and crushed two small sand crabs whom he'd begun to think of as adoptive parents. Instead, Lex changes the subject: he guesses that's not why Lana came over. Because she's selfish and wouldn't care about anything in Lex's life anyway.
I always re-read one of your recaps when I need a pick-me-up.

Happy Birthday Chief! Taking a cue from Durq, I was thinking about some of my favorite Omar witticisms. The coconut pancaked sand crabs are definitely in the top ten. Others I loved:
"Happened to be in the neighborhood," Paul explains. The neighborhood of Stalker Lane intersecting Crazy-Ass Avenue.
That's actual dialogue someone was paid to write for the WB series Smallville now in its fourth season. I bet you're better at whatever job you do, dear reader.
This is like three different conversations happening at the same time, none of them that interesting.
Clark is to friend what Battlefield Earth is to an Academy Award.
Clark is the biggest wuss since Sir Edmund Wuss of the British Army surrendered to a vicious pack of teddy bears in 1929.
And the most eloquent description of our Clark bar I've ever heard:
Able to leap over past friendships in a single bound! Faster than a needed apology! More powerful than people who find it necessary to be polite! He's Superman. And he's an asshole.
Chief, you are a funny, funny man.

It's very early on. Either the Pilot or Metamorphosis.
Happy Birthday Omar!
My favorite recap quote is from Transference
Clark and Papa Luthor each fall separately. Lex is just getting up. "Clark?" he asks. Papa Luthor, bewildered, turns to Lex with wide, farmboy eyes. And he's on his knees. It's Clark, all right.

It's from Spirit. Here's the whole quotation, describing a scene with Dawn, a.k.a. "Poor Man's Paris Hilton."
Now, whatever you might think of the character of Poor Man's Paris, just try to feel a bit of sympathy for the actress that has to say the following bit of dialogue with a straight face: "First off, Wonderbra, laters!" That's actual dialogue someone was paid to write for the WB series Smallville now in its fourth season. I bet you're better at whatever job you do, dear reader.
Of course the entire last paragraph of that recap is golden.

Apr 16, 2006 @ 12:52 pm
See, wolfschild, you made a very common mistake. You dared to think the show you're about to watch is about young Clark Kent and how he will become, one day, Superman. In truth, that show was cancelled at the end of the first season, and was replaced with Lanaville.

Apr 16, 2006 @ 1:02 pm
Ah, thank you, Lucy. I remember watching it way back then, enjoying it--then I gave up somewhere around season two.
And then I saw "Supernatural" and started watching the fourth season for Jensen Ackles--which I shall continue to do so. The fast-forward button is a wonderful invention.
So... is there rhyme or reason for the stones and the sudden "Charmed" crossover?

Giving Kristin Kreuk more screen time, and make the DOMOS dream about dominatrix Lana come true.

It has something to do with the caves of contrivance, and the stones were kryptonian in nature and they had this whole long drawn out thing where Lana was a french witch. Even I don't understand it. To be fair the whole Charmed thing was for one episode, at least it wasn't drawn out.
Personally I would've found it more believable if Lana was the descendant of a Chinese witch.
