"Walk Through The Fire", because it perfectly sums up what everyone is going through at the time.
Dazed
Standing, just because of the soulful overlap between Tara and Giles. Loved it!!
HexLover
Under Your Spell because Tara is a great singer and the song itself makes me smile everytime I hear it. It is the thing that made me like BTVS.
Victoria M.
I love them all, really, except Something to Sing About. Ooh, decisions, decisions. I guess my absolute favourite is I'll Never Tell, because the rhymes are just so clever and the characterisation is spot on, plus the dance is such fun. Second best I think I like Sweet's number, and third place probably goes to Giles and Tara's duet, though Rest in Peace gets an honourable mention for Spike on the coffin.
LMS
"Walk Through the Fire" as in terms of the episode.
"Standing/Under Your Spell" and Sweet's "What You Feel" as songs that are actually sung the best and that I relisten the most.
Bishop2
Sign me up for the "Walk Through the Fire" love-train. I think everybody else has already stated my feelings on the matter.
DeeeDee
I like "Walk Through Fire" overall and think it's a great ensemble piece but I also like "I'll Never Tell" . I equally love "I think this line's mostly filler" & "Look at me I'm dancin crazy!" though so I guess it's a draw.
janedoe4
"Walk Through the Fire" is my favorite overall, but there are definitely bits of other songs that hit my "highlights" list for the episode. For some reason I like the beginnings/first verses of a number of the other songs more than I like them in their entirety. *shrug*
sabi
I bought the soundtrack just so I could listen to Standing. It gives me chills everytime.
Sugarplum
A tough decision but in the end I went with "I've Got a Theory." Out of all the songs, it's the one I find myself singing the most. In just a line or two, you get a perfect snapshot of each character. Plus, the sap in me loves the idea that there's nothing that can't be faced together.
Cynic
Standing because I love Gile's sentiment and his voice and the overlap with Tara is so wonderful. It almost makes me tear up.

But, I'll never tell is what I sing in the shower.
riley702
I thought my head was going to explode trying to decide! And that was without "Going Through the Motions" on the list. I've got a soft spot for it, since, like another poster way upthread mentioned, it was the moment I realized this episode wouldn't suck!
I voted for "Under Your Spell" by the slimmest of margins over "Walk Through the Fire", if only for the heart tugging contrast between the joy of the first part, and the heartbreak of Tara's reprise when she finds the Lethe's Bramble in the spellbook and realizes she's literally as well as figuratively, under Willow's spell.
On a much brighter note, does Anya's song in S7 Selfless count? It did happen in the Buffyverse the same time as the other spell songs (or probably the night before, when Buffy was singing "Going Through the Motions"). 'Cause that song cracked me up. "I've boned a troll, I've wreaked some wrath, ...I like to bowl, I'm good with math..." And honestly, "Mrs. Anya Christina Emmanuella Jenkins...Harris!"?? Funny stuff.
holeybubushka
*Whines* This is no fair, its so hard to decide. Whilst I love all the songs, the two that stick out for me are "Under Your Spell" and "Walk Through the Fire". Its so difficult to decide! On one hand, I listen to "Under Your Spell" more. I love it, and I get a goofy smile on my face everytime I hear it. Its such an unabashed expression of love, and Amber has such a lovely voice. The song too, is very Tara-like, and as a Tara fan, I see this as a good thing.
However, I conceed that, by the narrowness of margins, "Walk Through the Fire" is the better song. Its a lovely ensemble piece, and SMG really belts it out. And with the fire-engines and door-kicking, and Aly's beautiful-"I think this line's mostly filler" it's a song that seemlessly encorporates everyone, with a great harmony and a powerful glimpse into the characters state of mind.
Do'oh! but now I'm unsure as I just listened to "Under My Spell" again. Damnit, I love them both! *Sigh* My vote goes to "Walk Through the Fire" but I'm already regretting it, so I gotta say I love them both equally.
Polter-Cow
Hm, I seem to be in the minority in really loving "Something to Sing About." It's got a very hummable tune, and Sarah's voice is really pretty. And I like the little rock interludes. And it's got some brilliant life/song metaphors. And the "heeeaven" minor chord.
Eris Rising
"Standing". Excellent harmony, incredibly poignant, and to have Tara's melancholy reprise of "Under Your Spell" blend in to "Standing" towards the end was simply powerful. Took my breath away.
MnM62
I love Standing mostly because I love Giles, and it's a very sweet song that convays real emotion. I also like Walk through the Fire and Where do we go from here but Standing was definately the best.
Sir_Fireboard
Definately 'Under Your Spell'. I could listen to that all day long.
Hitcho
Definately Where Do We Go From Here? First of all, ASH's inflection of "Kind of won" and his little "Tell Me" interjection are just awesome. The lined up hand-holding and breaking off are really the selling point, though.

It just so perfectly captured that feeling of "What next?" and the sense of isolation, even around your best friends. Great, great song.

If we're not supposed to count the choreography, though, then I'd have probably gone with Walk Through the Fire.
SusieCue
Walk Through the Fire with an honourable mention to I'll Never Tell. I love the back and forth between Buffy and Spike at the beginning of Walk Through the Fire, and the song just gets stronger as the rest of the cast is brought in. I just love the style of I'll Never Tell.
aquariphonics
Am I the only one that really despised Walk Through the Fire. I'm not a fan of SMG's singing voice. I thought the only thing that really saved that song was the "I better help her out..." from Spike. My vote goes for What You Feel. Sweet was my all time favorite demon. Although, I'll Never Tell is a close second.
Munchiewoman
SMG's voice isn't the best, but I thought she did this song well from an emotional standpoint. My favorite part of this song is when Sweet sings, "She will come. To. MEEEEEE" with the other voices blending in.

My favorite song though is the Tara/Giles duet. Heartbreaking.
LMS
Oh, God. I frikkin' ADORE the Tara/Giles duet. Easily my favourite segment of the episodes. Both actors have amazing voices. ASH and AB knocked that one out of the park.
SusanahDean
I'm actually surprised at the results. I thought "Through the Fire" would do well but the best? I voted for it myself. In truth my fave has been all the songs at one point with the exception of "Where Do We Go From Here"

ETA: Polter Cow I love "Something To Sing About" too. The metaphore is solid and lovely. The dancing is cute spazzy fun. SMG sells the song for everything it's worth. Plus "Anya Tara she needs back up!"
lilyrite
Ok i think i voted for Going through the motions ages ago because firstly it's such a cute song if ignore all Buffy's angsty being dead inside lyrics.

Though best song in the whole epi has to be the Giles/Tara one where they sing together because it totally rocks. And i'm willing to admit when i sing along with the CD (a gift from my sister i swear) i have to listen to it twice to sing both Giles and Tara's harmonies.
buffyangel_123
My fave is Walk Through the Fire - I just love how you've got Buffy singing here, Spike singing (and smoking) in the alley, Sweet at the Bronze, and then the rest of the Scoobs walking down the street.
Though, I pretty much love all the songs (and sing and dance to them as much as I can - it's fun!), except for Under Your Spell.
TweetyBird
I have the CD of this episode and I've memorized all of the songs. My favorite one would probably "I'll Never Tell" or "Something to Sing About". And considering that this poll is which one you like to LISTEN to then my vote goes to "I'll Never Tell" but I love singing along to "Something to Sing About".
diana in LA
I voted for "Rest in Peace". And not to be contrary, but I fast forward through "I'll Never Tell" and "Under your Spell". I can't even explain why. Maybe it's the outfits.
bloody_walker
I went with Standing because it was an amazing song, both music and lyrics, not to mention Tony's singing voice. Second place for Wish I Could Stay - Giles' and Tara's song - its one of the best duos I've ever heard and Under Your Spell because Amber's voice is one of the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Then there's Where do We Go from Here and Walk Through the Fire - because of "I better help her out" and Tara's intervention. Finally there's Sweet's Song and Rest in Peace - however, with Spike being a punk and fan of Ramones and Sex Pistols, I think the song should've been more punkish. Well, Sarah Michelle, Emma and Nick not precisely good singers. Michelle has a nice voice, but it only showed in "were do we go from here...?".

I love singing along to "Something to Sing About".

That song has great lyrics.

I gotta say that "Once More..." is one of my favorite episodes. Its both sad and funny. I like everything except the ending kiss - but that's because I was never a fan of Buffy and Spike.
Polter-Cow
I love singing along to "Something to Sing About".
I was randomly earwormed with it this morning. It's a great song.
alexias
Wish I could stay?? When Tara sings "there'll be nothing left of me"? Yeah...I still cry a little everytime I hear it.
watchergirl
Though I love Walk Through the Fire, I had to give my vote to Standing because I love, love ASH's voice (*swoon*) and because that song is so moving and the reprise between ASH and Amber Benson makes me cry.
grimbold
Also would have liked to see Going Through the Motions on this - love the venom when SMG sings 'Crawl out of your grave'.

The best moment musically for me is the Standing / Under Your Spell reprise - ASH and TB have the best voices in the cast, I love the overlap of emotions and vocals contrasted with the fact that they never acknowledge each other's presence. Plus, the moment when ASH joins in gives me tingles.

The best all round drama / staging / emotional song for me is a tie between Walk through the Fire and Give Me Something - love the ensemble feel of Walk, the overlap / duet of Spike and Sweet, the firetruck cracks me up, and the edit of Buffy kicking the door in at the end of the song is perfect. But in the end it had to be Give Me Something. I love the lyrics, the brittle glamour, the pain in 'Give me something to sing about. Please! Give me something...' Also, the expression on Buffy's face when she realises she's about to reveal the secret is perfect - pain for the others, then pain for herself.

And the ending is just great.
Donnycon
I have to say my favorite is the reprise with Giles and Tara. It is the song where the whole musical comes together and makes sense. They both have wonderful voices and blend together nicely. My second favorite would have to be Anya's bunny song during I've got a theory. By far the funniest part of teh show. And there were a lot.
Paris Madeleine
Word to all of the love for the AB/ASH reprise! I get all choked up whenever I hear it.

Yet my favorite is Walk Through the Fire. There's just something about it that gives me chills.
pookiebeast
It has to be I've Got a Theory. But here's the question: what happened with the bunnies? I remember that Aud was raising them for food, fur, and such. When did Anya become afraid of them?
Autodidact
It was to valuable as a joke to actually explain. In The Illuminatus Trilogy, Adam Weishaupt (who created the Bavarian Illuminati and, by conspiracy theory, killed George Washington and took his place, just go give a sense of place) was reading magic books while baked and looked at a picture of a Shuggoth (a Lovecraft demon) and said "Du hexe hasen", which inspired his followers to create Bugs Bunny a hundred and fifty years later. I use the rabbit<=>big, nasty demon bit there as a justification for her bunny fear, but that's not canon. There is no canonical justification for it.
fallsauce
I chose 'Where do we go from here?' because I looked at the title and now I can't get it out of my head, a song with that much stickiness deserves my vote. And besides, the bump as Spike walked back in the routine was very clever.

The only song I didn't like was 'Something to sing about,' don't like that kind of music and it wasn't catchy.
Honorable mention goes to Marti Noxon, that is some voice! And the song was very cute.

I still can't believe Joss wrote all those songs, how can anyone be good at so many things!? (Jealousy overload!)
enness2000
Definitely "Walk Through The Fire" - I love the final part where everyone's singing, and the way it goes so easily from the very touching ("Is my Slayer too far gone to care?") to the hilarious ("I think this line's mostly filler") and back in about 10 seconds. The only one that comes close (and it's not on this poll, so it didn't trouble me) is the "Standing/Under Your Spell" reprise - ASH and AB have incredible voices, and hearing them sing in harmony is just...*drools*

The only song I don't really like is "Rest In Peace" - I kinda like the bit where they're walking through the graveyard ("I know I should go" etc), but the rest is too light, both for the character and for JM's voice. And "What You Feel" is OK, but a little too bland.
valny
I kinda like the bit where they're walking through the graveyard ("I know I should go" etc),
Heh,that's the part I didn't care for. I really like the other rock 'n' rolly parts but that middle section made it come to a screeching halt. I think even Joss said he wasn't thrilled by the way it turned out. I could be hallucinating though. :)
Lizka
Standing and its reprise. ASH and Amber were just so great.
trishelle
I voted for Under Your Spell because I love Tara's voice. Also, on the DVD commentary for that song I believe Joss mockingly calls the last part of the song "porn", which cracks me up. I am also very fond of the reprise with Tara and Giles.
cjl
"I'll Never Tell." Simple melody (except for the middle eight), but some of Joss' most sophisticated wordplay. Emma in yummy lingerie. Nick and Emma hoofing it like dancin' fools. Second place tie between "I've Got a Theory/Bunnies/If We're Together" and the ASH/AB reprise of "Standing." A devil horns salute to Marti and Fury for their inspired cameos. (I cast Fury as Oberon in my Shakespearean Angel fanfic, and gave him a minion named Mustard-Seed. Make your own joke.)
palomacrane
Yeah, I love the Disney-esque-ness of Going through The Motions. So I didn't vote.
TheBlueFrog
I'm surprised there isn't more love for my top choice, "Where Do We Go From Here," which edged out "Standing" as my top pick. WDWGFH always moves me, and contains a line that I think pretty well sums up the human condition.

I love both ASH and AB's voices, and their reprise together is amazing. Had the reprise been longer, and/or if I'd found Giles' argument for leaving in "Standing" more convincing, it would have beaten out WDWGFH.
Bregaladiel
I voted for 'Walk Through the Fire', though I'd have gone for Giles' and Tara's reprise if it had been listed as an option.

Both are terrifically poignant, and I love the overlapping voices in 'Walk', but I think that the reprise of 'Under Your Spell/Standing' wins out for me due to sheer vocal beauty. ASH and AB have such gorgeous singing voices. Ai. I'm listening to it now, and I'm getting a little teary.
TimeMonkey
Walk Through The Fire is my favorite but I've been listening to Where Do We Go From Here a lot lately.
Crandle
I voted for Walk Through the Fire, but I also like I've Got a Theory and the Under Your Spell/Standing combo.

I love the part in I've Got Theory when Tara is about to sing and Anya interrupts her with her whole Bunnies spiel. Pretty funny.
ladyrott
It was a tough choice, but I went with "Under Your Spell" because I love Amber's voice. Second Choice is Rest In Peace because it makes me laugh.
Bill1978
Since I auditioned for Australian Idol with I'll Never Tell, I thought I should vote for it. But it was tough since I love the majority of all the songs.
cagewench
Standing because I love Tony...

Really I'd have liked to see the Standing/Under your Sperll reprise on there because that gave me Amber and Tony
